Let's do something good together! Everyone needs some encouragement- no one is exempt from a rainy day or two. We want to give you some words to help you grow as a Christian and human. We are a Mother/Daughter team, with periodic guests that will keep you laughing and give you something good to think about.
Danielle and I talk a little about this chapter and finish the book of James with a great reminder that the prayer is incredibly powerful!
Hey everyone, we're back! During this time of interesting and confusing media, we would love to help direct you all to the words of God and maybe add some clarity to your lives. So we will be reading the Bible to you and making a few comments at the end to share our perspective of what we read.
Have you ever been afraid to look in the mirror? Maybe because you were afraid of what you would see? In podcast Dr. Monique and I talk about reflection from the perspective of seeing our full selves in light of all the God is.
Sometimes we'll accidentally fall into the habit of believing our value equals our full schedule, to be honest, we are more than the tasks we accomplish.
Hey! It's 2020 and we're looking out into this year with so much hope and intention. I hope you've had a chance to reflect and talk with God about this New Year, having a clear vision can help us live so purposefully!
How many of you are still a work in progress? If we're honest, all of us can raise our hands to that question, because we are always under construction. We want to wish you all the very best Christmas and a wonderfully blessed New Year!
This time of year can stir up a ton of emotions, some we might have thought we resolved. If anger or bitterness showed up this season we want to encourage you to let it go and experience the healing that's waiting for you.
It's no surprise that we love this season; the family, the friends, the food... we love it! However, we understand that not everyone has warm feelings associated with the holidays, but it's not too late to make new memories or make new friends!
Sometimes we get caught up in our own little world and forget to look around and be observant to the needs of others. This holiday season is a wonderful time to open our hearts, our eyes, and our homes to new friends.
We're coming into a beautiful season and it is so easy to just drift as life flurries around you, but we want to offer you a second option- to be awake and alive to the things happening around and in you. So take a moment to ask yourself the question, "how is my heart?"
"Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits." Prov 18:21
We are already in the 10th month of 2019 and we are here to encourage you to keep putting the effort until 2020!
We talked about grief this week with the intent to bring hope to those who might be struggling to find it.
We believe that every Christian has the capacity to hear the voice of God and we wanted to talk about that today!
Change is hard, but it is inevitable. We're are right in the middle of our physical season changing and it's a great reminder of the beauty that change can bring. Not every transition feels as blissful and romantic as autumn, but there is beauty in every season if you're looking for it.
We thought we'd be bold this week and talk about a couple things we are NOT good at. We all need growth and it's important that we don't give a false perception of how life with God is... we never really get everything figured out, we just do our very best. Let's care more about being the M.I.P (Most Improved Player) than the M.V.P (Most Valuable Player)
Sometimes we get so caught up in the details of life that we forget to be kind, let's do better.
We have our "adventure buddy" Sue Behrman here with us today to talk about the joy of our salvation. Sometimes we forget that God wants us around, He enjoys our presence and invites us to enjoy His.
Listen in as we talk about some areas of vulnerability and then explore what God says about it.
One "yes" to God can change the trajectory of countless lives, don't forget the importance of quick obedience.
It's easy to put a bunch of pressure on yourself to make the right decisions every single time- the truth is, the Holy Spirit wants to help lead and guide you with peace- not anxiety.
I learned a bit of alliteration a while back that helps to bring clarity when making decisions. Ask your parents, your pastors, and follow the peace of God.

I get the privilege of calling Dorette Schaal my mom. Most people who know her know that she has a heart for God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit), a heart for hospitality (making people feel welcome and comfortable), and a heart for encouragement (helping people know that they can do it)- the combination of these traits both inspires me to be like her and blesses me because I know her.
In this Eword, I ask my mom a little about her experience as a mother and I throw in my two cents as an aunt and dog mom ;)
Moms, I can't imagine how often what you do is under appreciated, but I want you to know that there is nothing like growing up with a mom that believes in you and loves you wholeheartedly - I have so many good things to say about parents that stand on the (figurative and literal) front lines for their kids, parents that break unhealthy cycles of living before their kids ever have to deal with it, parents that pray for their kids, and parents that show their kids how good God is and what a joy it is to serve Him.
*Also parents who remind their kids to wash their hands after they go to the bathroom.
We honor you this week, moms, the world will see the fruit of your labor for generations.

Last week we talked about how to practically pursue the things of God, today we'll talk about the other half, why we need His grace.
Trusting that God is who He says He is and that He will do what He says He will can change your entire life. We talk about trust in this Eword, join us as we encourage each other to live the lives we were created to!
During this season of Lent we're hoping you take some extra time to reflect on what God has done and what He is doing. Also, allowing time to search your heart to see any areas that require change and then to put the effort in to make change.
We talk about how Love serves in relationships, in church, and in the community! It's always a good time to become more like love.
The New Year is a great time to take inventory on the things happening in your physical body and in your spirit- take some time to check up on your life!
Tasha talks about Noah and how he was faithful to walk with God daily. Look how greatly God used Noah... God can use faithfulness.
This is just a bonus this week! Our friend Tracy Wilde always brings amazing wisdom whenever she speaks. In this short talk she shares that sometimes God just wants us to believe what you already know and to trust what He's already said.
Monique spoke for a short time at our Conference this last week. She is amazing at connecting our physical bodies to our spiritual lives. I hope you love the example she used as much as we do!
We're getting closer to Thanksgiving and we're looking forward to celebrating all the things we have to be thankful for. We hope that by listening or watching today you'll be encouraged to develop thankfulness like never before.
Remembering the wonderful life and legacy of Suzy Beer in this episode of Encouraging Word. We can all learn from those who have gone before us and showed us how to live a beautiful life.
I'm with my friend Alex this week (and next week) and we're talking about hope. Anybody ever needed some of that? Luckily we a faithful God who we can trust with everything we have. I hope you feel hopeful today!

In August we wanted to share with you some books that we love. This week we're talking about "Everybody Always" by Bob Goff. If you haven't already read this book, please quickly begin. We all need a reminder of who to love and when to love them; the answer being, everybody always.

When we care for someone, we open ourselves up to joy and pain alike. You can't truly love someone from an arms length, so lean in and engage when people need you most and also when you need people most.
Heather Bean knows how to "Live Brave" and I'm so glad to sit and chat with her about how she is changeing the spiritual landscape of her community! One of the ways she does that is by hosting the Create women's Conference that we were blessed enough to attend!
P.S. The women at Create gave $65,000 to A21! Woo Woo!

Loving like Jesus requires more than effort, it takes the influence of the Holy Spirit at work in our lives. We were unsupervised this week for our encouraging word, as it is just the young ones! We talked about experiencing God for ourselves. We both had to decide for ourselves whether this relationship with God was actually ours and not just something built into our lives. We're so thankful to have grown up in the Church with parents who love and serve God, but it was so important to take ownership over our personal relationship with God and experience Him for ourselves. I hope you find a good laugh and some motivation to seek a deeper relationship with Him in your own life.

Understanding and accepting the love that God has for us might just be one of the best things we could do for Him. We hope that today, as we recap our Women's Conference, we might help you realize how the love of God can transform our hearts.
"Beloved" is the theme for our upcoming Women's Conference- today we talk a bit about what it's like to recognize the love that God has for each of us. I hope you feel encouraged and know the depth of love that God has for you.
This week we talked about the inlet and outlet of our hearts. It's so important to be aware of what we let into our hearts, because out of our hearts flow the issues of life. A healthy heart helps us see people how God sees them. Happy Heart Month!

February is "heart month," so consequently we wanted to focus on the condition of our spiritual heart this month. Psalm 51:10 says, "Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me." It's important for us to do what we can do and allow God to do what only He can. Sometimes we look at the leftovers of our live and cringe at the thought of God having to make something of them, but God, in all His goodness, desires to create something new- like only He can. Be confident in this, you are a new creation in Christ when you choose to make Him your personal Lord and Savior. This month join us in loving from a pure heart (1st Timothy 1:5) and in letting God create something new in us.
