04 - We attentively listen to our parents and honor their God-given authority.

We discuss how God designed an authority structure and gave parents a crucial role. We talk about how parenting might feel like a drudgery, but that we should instead view it with joy. We also contrast "ownership" and "ambassador" views of parenting that Paul David Tripp talks about in his book "Parenting." As an ambassador parent we are called to faithfully represent the message, methods, and character of Him who entrusted our children. We discuss how parenting is a life-long connected process that is full of partial conversations and unfinished moments which ultimately WILL impart wisdom to your child. It happens layer upon layer, drip by drip.
