In this episode we talk about biblical attitudes. This is the fourth category that virtues 13-16 of our "24 Biblical Family Virtues" are contained. The virtues in this category cover joy, hope, peace, gentleness, kindness, and patience. The majority of these encapsulate the Fruit of the Spirit and frequently overlap one another. They are an outward expression of what is in one's heart. "Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks." Matthew 12:34These virtues might be the only testimony some people see of your relationship with Christ. It's important in today's culture that the world SEE that we are different.Joy is something that only Christians can have with confidence, as is the same with hope. Our peace is not one that shies back, but that remains steady despite any circumstance because our confidence in in Christ working on our behalf. In recognition of God's creation, we treat all people with dignity through kindness and patience.Ultimately our behaviors (and our children's) are a result of our attitudes. "Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel." Philippians 1:27Our ultimate example of a perfect attitude is Jesus. "Who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously." 1 Peter 2:23We pray that "...the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy."
