Today, we continue our discussion on Joseph and how he was sold by his brothers. We will now be discussing lessons learnt from this story.

The first lesson from this story is - God will never leave or forsake us. God was always with Joseph even when he was in the pit. God was there with him protecting him and aligning everything to His Will. It didn’t seem like it - like how can God be with him and he was in this pit? With no way out? All he could see was impossibilities! But as we can see from the story everything was working together for his good. He left there to his next place of assignment.

Reasons why we know God was with Joseph:

• God ensured the cistern where Joseph was thrown into was empty
• God touched the heart of one of the ten brothers - Reuben, so that he suggested that they put him in a pit and not kill him
• God used their selfish desires of making money by selling him to take him to his next assignment
• God times this such that the midianite traders - the exact ones God has proposed to take Joseph to his next assignment passed by at that exact time!

Sometimes we think this situation I am going through is too impossible - something grand must happen to change everything. But you see here - God used seemingly simple steps to move Joseph from a seemingly impossible situation.

The Bible says - All things work for the good to them that love God - Romans 8:28. So no matter what you are passing through, always know that God is with you, and He is guiding you to where He wants you to be.
