Are you trying to intellectualize the Gospel?

When we share our faith with a world that values polished arguments, self-promotion, and emotional entertainment, it is incredibly tempting to dress up the message. We think we need a flawless debate strategy or an overwhelming speech to make the cross sound reasonable. But when the Apostle Paul entered the brilliant, competitive, and philosophically saturated city of Corinth, he did the exact opposite. He didn’t rely on a dazzling personality or elite Greek rhetoric. He showed up in physical illness, fear, and deep trembling.
