This week we will continue to follow Jesus to the cross. Pilate still struggles with Jesus ... he doesn't understand who Jesus is or what kind of king he is. So, Pilate caves into the crowd and allows him to be beaten and executed. We often have a hard time understanding why Jesus had to suffer. Inevitably, we also wonder why God allows suffering at all. This scriptures begs that question and leaves us thinking.
