In the Old Testament, we read a lament, a poem that King David sang when King Saul and his friend Jonathon died in battle. David sings to honor the sacrifices they made for Israel. However, he specifically sings for the sacrifices that Jonathon made as David's best friend. As we look at this and the way Jesus lived and died, we see that sacrifice is such a crucial part of faith.
