What is the problem?

The crux of the debate is not ‘immigration: yes or no’. The key questions are whether immigration is benefiting the country, whether it is running at a level which is acceptable to ordinary citizens and whether it is being controlled in a lawful manner. A country has the right to decide who to allow in. All countries have border controls and all face legitimate questions over who to admit and who to turn away. The key questions are about who and how many people are good for our economy and society. The first thing to address is the open borders this government is allowing, and the fact that the government is lying to us about the mass immigration they are responsible for.

Many people are also concerned about the way in which immigration is leading to rapid cultural and societal change. As the former integration czar Baroness Louise Casey has said, some areas have changed ‘beyond recognition’ in a very short space of time. Indeed, this process is accelerating, with a number of communities finding that their local way of life is being very rapidly changed.

Many also believe that the abysmal failure to effectively control immigration on the part of the government is having a harmful impact on public safety and on fundamental British values such as freedom of expression and religion, as well as equality of opportunity for women and for those in the LGBTQ+ community. Although the LGBT community would campaign for these immigrants to stay while not understanding that if they were in the countries the immigrants come from they would be severely punished for the views they hold.

Europe's Muslims vote left for now as they favour welfare and mass immigration, but around the world, a solid majority of Muslims favour Sharia, and about a fourth think it should apply to non-Muslims. it would be ludicrous to deny that there is a minority in the British Muslim community who are implacably hostile to existing British values, whilst happily enjoying the benefits of British citizenship. Somehow, they cannot seem to understand that the culture they wish to destroy is the very one that allows them to practice their religion freely; a freedom they would curtail if they were to take power: there would be only one acceptable version of Islam in a country ruled by Salafists, and the Gay and LGBT community would suffer beyond belief.
