Episode Description
In this episode of The Your Level Fitness Podcast, I’m breaking down the popular phrase “just be one percent better every day.” While it can be super effective for building momentum in the beginning of your journey, especially when you’re seeing lots of early wins, it starts to wear thin over time. Improvement becomes harder to spot, and that can mess with your motivation if that’s the only thing you’re focused on.
Instead of chasing progress for the sake of daily wins, I want to help you shift toward something more sustainable. I talk about looking for wins everywhere, without pressuring yourself to find improvement every single day. This approach allows you to stay consistent, appreciate your wins when they happen, and recognize opportunities for growth when they come up.
I also talk about how this plays out with weight loss, especially after the “early results” phase. Your efforts might not look as flashy, but they still matter. It’s not about ignoring progress, it’s about not depending on it to keep going.
This is a mindset shift that can help you feel more connected and confident in your process, especially when you apply the inside/out approach. You’re not waiting for progress to prove your worth or validate your efforts. You’re staying aware, staying consistent, and staying open to learning and evolving at your own pace.
I’d love to hear your take on this idea and whether the “one percent better” mindset has helped or challenged you. Feel free to email me your thoughts or share your perspective. I’m always up for a conversation that helps us both grow.
