Trailer transcript

[Watery/peaceful nature sounds lead into lightly rhythmic major key guitar Music. The music fades down during speaking.]

Áine: Welcome to season 2 of Enabling Commons, a podcast of the Disability-Inclusive Climate Action Research Programme based at McGill University. I'm Áine Kelly-Costello, a disabled advocate, researcher and story-teller based in Aotearoa New Zealand.

[Music briefly in foreground then fades again]

For the second season of Enabling Commons, I sat down, over Zoom, with a range of scholars, experts and activists to explore disability and climate intersections from many angles. The conversations go deep.

They take us from archiving disabled wisdom

[Speaker 2: disability insights are also crucial]

to training in land-based ecology

[Speaker 3: persons with disabilities and human beings are part of species diversity]

to Vanuatu advocacy in the face of compounding disasters

[Speaker 4: People with disabilities hardly find, you know, find money and food to eat]

[Music fades out]
