044 | Stress & Burnout

As a small-town contractor and business owner myself, I know firsthand the stress and burnout that comes with running a business. When you're the one in charge, everything falls on your shoulders. You have to find your own customers, source materials, and handle taxes and payroll. It can be overwhelming, and there have been times when I've felt like throwing in the towel.

But despite the challenges, I believe that the benefits of owning a business far outweigh the cons. When you work for yourself, you have the opportunity to achieve greater financial and time freedom and to make decisions on your terms. It's true that there are still plenty of people involved - including customers, suppliers, and employees - but at the end of the day, the buck stops with you.

Of course, finding ways to streamline your processes and eliminate unnecessary stress is crucial. Without systems in place, it's easy to get bogged down in the day-to-day details and lose sight of the bigger picture. But for those who are willing to put in the work, the rewards can be significant. As a small-town business owner, I feel a deep sense of pride in what I've built, and I wouldn't trade it for anything.
