Up next, there’s the Xbox, the Gamecube and we’re just going to throw in the Xbox 360 and the Wii as well! The original DS doesn’t count for me sadly (it was a gift for my sister!)

Next up in our game system collection, the Game Boy Color briefly and the Playstation 1
Next up with the reviews is the Game Boy Pocket. The Ice Blue Game Boy Pocket. The very first console which was my own! Will do my due diligence to give an impartial and biased review (not!)

[This is not Sparta…this is What if] Fighting game version of course! Like what if…Capcom vs SNK 3 had tag assists like MvC2 or KOF99?

From every SF game from 1-5, and Alpha 1-2, if we are following SF2-Game Boy rules listing 9 characters that would be in the game. I feel like have done this before…anywho, like Jason Kelce says its the whole team for SF1! SF2 and SF4 is explanatory (same cast). The real fun is with SF3, Alpha 1/2 and SFV!
[Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 for Game Boy Color] This game was actually a demo for the Game Boy (Color)! Going against my own rule and realizing i will talk about other games, i talk about the playthrough of this demo and also the Game Boy Color!
So vexed! A dedicated gamer is working on an NES Port of Street Fighter II: Champion Edition which uses sprites from our favorite (or just mines!) video game! Not in a bad way, but seeing what could have been for the Game Boy Color version...

Get ready, Fight!
With Mega Man Xtreme having a Hadoken and Shoryuken unlocked as a secret and hidden special move and also Power Quest, i must ask the question: Why are these mech-esque based games doing more better Street Fighter 2 moves than the actual game for the Game Boy?

My frustration with GameStop, tried to defend and even support the company, but the terms and conditions for the Xbox Series X/S leases are my final straw! Goodby GameStop!
Before I knew of the term "used games", there was Camera and Sport shop. Now closed, I reminisce of my first experience with used games. The Germantown and Erie strip won't be the same without the store!
What's the best arcade game in your opinion? Unlike the home consoles, there's no definite answer!
I state the clearly unthinkable...what if...the Game Boy version of Street Fighter 2, was made for another system? What system would it be made for? Egad!
The Nintendo Switch is a portable arcade system. The Nintendo Switch Lite is the most advanced handheld system around! I will explain the reason why!
Retro games and game systems I would love to purchase and play but won't get due to a combination of not enough space and life!

This is the first ever podcast that we are doing live while playing the game! Excelsior!

The Switch and Wii U vs the Playstation Vita and Playstation 4 in the battle of "Simpsons Did it First!" or moreso the battle of the hybrid handheld/console systems!
Dizzy tech for the game, and the fact that the Game Boy Pocket is the best arcade handheld system in history! Hadoken!
Talking about fatherhood and also the other part of the podcast, the most important part, my son Nathan!
The title is a parody of those Larry King late night informercials. Lulz. I love my game as is truly, giving my thoughts as to what can be done to enhance the base game to make it playable in the tournament level!
Fight Music! What is your favorite fighting game music! I also explain why the Streets of Rage games (thank you Yuzo Koshiro) makes me want to fist pump at a party or dropkick someone. At the same time!
The FGC episode. Seeing gamers play different games. Brian F playing as Dudley in SF4. Go1(ichi) playing MvC2. IFCYipes playing MeltyBlood. Inspired by seeing Punk play in SF4
Here it is! I name (almost, i probably forgot a game or two, old age!) my favorite and least-favorite character in every fighting game that I have played!
Back to the Fighter that is in the Streets deux! I make the argument that Chun Li should be the final boss of the game!
Another rando ep, I talk about my favorite cartoon, my favorite cereal and my favorite candy. Really hard-hitting stuff.
I don't want to give opinions on what is going on, but share biblical principles of what Jesus taught us to rally around families and strengthen us all through this time. Let's turn anger into answers through love as Jesus would do!
Ah, the longform podcast format! If you have a few minutes to kill or need someone in the background to chat about his adventures in the arcade, look no further than this episode! Another ode to the arcades of my era and the era that preceded it, enjoy!
Ok, created the specific Zangief Headbutt montage and had to debate, was the headbutt a legit move left in by the programmers? Is it fair to use the move often?
Back to the industry...of Street Fighter II for the Game Boy. After playing Super Mario Land 2, just watching and studying gameplay and tendencies!
After the handing down of my Game Boy Pocket to my toddler son who doesn't understand the difference between it, stuffed animals, food and things to put in mouth, I draw up my perfect gaming console! (FM tuner, backlight, no wifi)
The podcast episode! Mentioning my favorite podcast. Is it podcast-inception? Podception? Inceptcast w/RSS feeds? Do they still make RSS feeds? Egad the questions!
My list of the most impactful and epic fighting game characters i have encountered or aka: the point in the game where you know "It's About To Go Down!"
Accidentally erased the saved game for Super Mario Land 2: Six Golden Coins. Now i have learned a fast reset will do that!
Taking a slight departure due to playing (the awesome!) Super Mario Land 2, I decided to take a random moment to talk about how Batman: The Animated Series and Batman Beyond were and are great and also how they are definitely not a "children's cartoon" of today! Man those shows were dark!
Graduation x Tier List! In the theme congratulating the 2020 grads, we salute them during this time as well as go through the tier list...what if the Street Fighter II for the Game Boy cast were in high school?
Slight old man tangent mode but very humbling realization that SF2 for the Game Boy is perfect to me as it!
In a first, there was a game that preceded Street Fighter 2 for the Game Boy that I always wanted to play as a kid! Now as an adult with a few dollars of disposable income I have finally purchased it and will beat it to get back to playing SF2! That game is...welp, you have to listen to the episode to see!
Legit crazy idea for keeping the high scores for the game, no creating an mini-arcade needed (and something most importantly i can share with everyone!)
The allure for the high score! The depths i am willing to go to keep records on the high score for the game!
On to a project that may be greater than the arcade project for Street Fighter 2 for the Game Boy!
Realizing when I see two generations (Ashley and Nathan) watching and enjoying Blue's Clues, i realize that to the newer generation that Street Fighter V is this generation's Street Fighter 2 for the Game Boy! I'll explain!
Even still, the mind is boggled by videos on YouTube by hosts that continue to bash Street Fighter II for the Game Boy! Its really needless at this point, let the game live!
Correcting an idea I had a few seasons ago, i create the perfect arcade for SF 2 for the Game Boy!
"The game that shall not be mentioned"...actually looks fun! Seeing that game on a big screen made me change my perspective on an arcade version of SF2 for the Game Boy slightly!
...while we are at it, how would Street Fighter II look on a Neo Geo Pocket Color? How about the Game Boy version on a Playstation Portable or Vita?
Concluding the series of the others (meaning other handheld fighting games!) I talk about a few i would honestly love to own and would purchase in the future (if I wasn't in my minimalist mode now. Games include Mortal Kombat II (Game Boy), Real Bout Special (Game Boy) and SNK vs Capcom: Match of the Millenium (Neo Geo Pocket Color)
Next up is talking about a game that I had previously in Killer Instinct for the Game Boy!
In this new series, i evaluate handheld games that I have played and owned or currently own. This week, i talk about a game that I currently own: King of Fighters 95 for the Game Boy!
Feeling like a true master of the game now! Not sure if i will attempt it with every character but it was a great challenge and going to go back and learn and study more!
For this episode, before I jump head first to everything in my life (family, Street Fighter 2 for the Game Boy), I wring out the final soap in the soap sponge (?!?) that I call video game wanting and collecting to:
a). list future systems and video games I would love to obtain (my final game list!) b). thoughts about other things in general, unfiltered opinions about video games! c). not saying goodbye or not purchasing any more video games, its just with time and constraints, the timing is not feasible
My journey thus far into the Survival Mode for Street Fighter II for the Game Boy is producing some interesting results!
"State of Play with Street Fighter 2 for the Game Boy"
It's not really a state of play for the game itself. The game is old. 25 years old. But more so future things in the works from the podcast for the game and future episodes that I am excited to share with everyone!
"LCD Revival!"
Tiger Electronics is bringing back its LCD games! We get to finally play Sonic 3 LCD. I am legit excited!
"Dot, dot, dot, ellipsis"
I know for a fact that this latest generation of consoles will be my last of the gaming consoles. Not really excited about the future of gaming and see that what the future holds isn't for me. The games that I am looking forward to, the games I would like to see and the games and systems that I am adding to the collection.
Lastly, i am back in training for the Survival mode...with a vengeance!
In order, i list every fightung game I've owned! Also for a two-parter, i somehow rank each fighting game! Egad!
Cannot believe that I am bringing this idea up, but...the original Street Fighter...for the Game Boy?!?
Lost episode part VI (i think!). Simple and plain, what is the best fighting game ever made? What parameters can state that this game is the best fighting game?
The problem with Capcom! As much as we love Capcom for providing us with great content, the company has gave us some puzzling games and head scratching decisions. I am not taking sides but pointing out both pros and cons of the game company in regards of Street Fighter and other games, my love and dislike of Yoshinori Ono and ideas of creating the definitive Street Fighter game!
If Street Fighter 2 for the Game Boy wasn't my favorite game...which game would it be then?
"AAA Batteries!" A quick reason to state why the charm of the Game Boy Pocket using AAA batteries is something that sadly will not be replicated!
Creating a "Greatest Hits" collection for the Game Boy! There are a few games that are indeed worth mentioning that are excellent with bundling up into a Greatest Hits compliation!
Since i talked about upgrades to the At Games Ultimate Genesis Handhelds (which are needed), i state the reasons why updates really arent needed to the original model lines of the Game Boys!
Part 1: *Creating/updating the At Games Ultimate Sega Genesis Handheld. Thinking of the games that I would add on to the system and also updates that would make to better fit the system to personal and other needs for it!
"Behold the glory that is the Game Boy Pocket's directional pad!" -Seth from Ultra Street Fighter IV (maybe). All of the Game Boys (except for the Advance SP) in my humblest of opinions have the best D-Pad. I'll explain why the first game console/system you play has a huge effect on controller preference
"Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition". Not only i talk about the Game That Shall Not Be Named, but I go all alternate reality and not only have a gamer name, company that I want to sponsor and also a character that I main! This isn't the Eventhubs SFV podcast, but kinda close. P.s: there will be some SF2 in there to sanitize my soul!
CPS2 handheld or mini console!
Lost in the initial craze that was the mini consoles are the CPS 1, 2 and 3 systems mini arcades/consoles. Yes, there are copyright and licensing issues, but I am sure that a CPS mini arcade console would be a requested item!
(Capcom Home Arcade console doesn't count. Let's pretend Capcom never did that!)
"The dreaded mirror match!" Why Street Fighter 2's mirror match mode may be the hardest in all of gaming for one simple reason!
"What's a fighting game?" I was watching a SNES video on list of fighting games (h/t to Video Game Library) and on the list there were boxing and kickboxing games as well. Should fighting games be limited only to real life emualtions of fighting game sports? What about Tekken or Virtua Fighter, games that draw from real life maartial art disciplines?
My personal gaming bucket list
Last time on DragonBallZ...er on my life as an adult that barely has any time to play video games anymore (thank you responsibilities, ya jerk!), I look into my gaming bucket list...and realize that playing every single video game ever was a goal as a child. That is clearly not a realistic goal! I gave myself two last goals to close out the bucket list!
Finally beat Wing Fortress Zone from Sonic 2 Beat Survivor Mode on Street Fighter 2 for the Game Boy. On the Game Boy Pocket. With no cheats!
The over-dependence of online in fighting games
I feel with new fighting games, there's an unhealthy dependence on online gaming, yes it is neat to play games with others to train, but even online is not the same as playing in person or in tournaments. No amount of netcode can replicate that cause its just a different beast
Giving mad props to one of my favorite and honestly timeless systems, the Sega Genesis. I know that this is the SF2 for Game Boy Podcast but i have to give a slight head nod to one of the great game consoles i played heavily as a child. Even if the AtGames Sega Genesis Ultimate Portable Player (say that three times fast!) has a directional pad that is clearly not suited for fighting games!
Favorite games: -Genesis 6-Pak (Revenge of Shinobi, Sonic 1, Streets of Rage, Super Hang On, Golden Axe, Columns) -Streets of Rage 2 -Sonic 2 -NBA Jam -Mortal Kombat 1 and 2 -Tecmo Super Bowl 2017 (mod)
The perfect hidden character for Street Fighter 2 for the Game Boy. No, not Akuma. Never Akuma!
Arcades vs entertainment centers? Random convo about the similarities and the differences
Air gang! Air Tatsu from Ryu/Ken and Air Spinning Bird Kick are hyper effective for multiple reasons! I discuss the differences as to why they are important in this game!
Retro Arcade "Front-End" emulator has an option that allows the Special Championship Edition of Street Fighter 2 to appear in pea-soup color, similar to the original Game Boy! Viewing the gameplay, how does it compare to the Game Boy version of Street Fighter 2? And in monochrome madness, i talk about the differences with the green and black and white pallet of the original Game Boy and the straight (outta Compton) black and white Game Boy Pocket!
Almost thru my sabbatical of video games i am realizing that they really arent a big part of my life like they used to be. Plus I have a new phone and the games i am excited to play with Josh aka "El Hombre"!
The greatness that is Chun-Li. The best defense in certain things is a good offense, and Chun proves that in this game. Just a once over of the best character in this game hands down!
...Street Fighter Alpha 3 World Tour-RPG mode Fighting Game -Fighting game w/RPG elements and ability to use character and swap out many things to create your own unique character. Doubtful that it would happen but ces't la vie. Something similar to Power Quest meets Medabots upgrade system?
...There are some moves in the game that are the hardest to pull off. Some moves are useless, but darn they look all kinds of cool. These are just a few moves that I like (in no particular order) -Zangief's headbutt -Chun Li's Head Stomp and Aerial Throw -Chun Li's air-Spinning Bird Kick glitch -Boxer's headbutt glitch -Ken's Spin Kick
...attempting to collect Game Boy games again, well, just a few that I adored from childhood as well as a few games I always wanted to play! This time I'll just collect Pokemon Trading Card Game for the Game Boy, literally played that game to death!
...what type of fighting gamer are you? ...also (because everyone haz one!) my Pokemon monent!
Analytics-the next evolution in fighting games. Why analytics will play a big part in future games (hint: eSports!) and how it affects us the average game player!
CPS Changer! Definitely worthy of any collection though the price to obtain it will be very high!
Various games I would love to have on the Game Boy (in an alterante 90's reality world) such as -Sega 6pak (except for Sonic!) -Pole Position -X-Men vs. Street Fighter
Just learning that I am not an usual gamer, even when i was heavy into video games until now, where gaming is still a passion but scarce!
The emulators i used, the emulator i use, and the accessibility which is SF2 for the Game Boy!
The weekends of yesterday, then and today and how video games played a big part. -TL:dr: as a kid i played SF2 in the arcades -as a teen: Madden all day -as of now just hanging with Nate!
A minimalist's view on collecting video games or "I grew up broke, so I don't really need the games!"
Naming the best screen for Street Fighter 2 to play on! Can't wait to update when i obtain an original Game Boy and an Super Game Boy for the SNES!
While uploading a ROM of Streer Fighter on a hybrid laptop/tablet in Walmart (hey, computers are hooked to the interwebz) i realize if I do not purchase any more games i am content with just playing SF2! Promise its not a spiel on old/new games again part a million but just some perspective!
One thing if i can be unbiased about Street Fighter 2 for the Game Boy is that there are no records keeping score. Similar to the arcades, if the power goes out, you lose the score. Wins, high scores and name rankings metered out prominence amongst the hardcore, seperating the elite from the novices. Maybe not as deep on the handheld ports but nonetheless important!
Had to shoutout my fellow FGC/arcade brother! Check out his podcast "The No-Frillz Podcast!"
I used to record raps and death metal songs with an awesome engineer named Jeff at Slap Studios! Thinking back with a tipped cap/about how I couldn't really rap!
Finally after many years found the prototype of Resident Evil for the Game Boy! I was a huge fan of the RE series and 1 was the first game ive beaten many times! Taking a trip down nostalgia lane to see how it could have played for the Game Boy Color!
Found glitches? Check! Beat the game with every character? Easy-peasy! Beat the Survival mode on the hardest level? The true path lies in the heart of the warrior!
Select button, you have not been forgotten! It does have a hidden feature but what else could the button be used for in the game? A hard hitting, gripping and enthralling dialogue in regards to the most forgotten button in videogame history!
On vacation, i went to an "arcades" where there were literally no fighting games. Arcades without fighting games are just Family Fun Entertainment Centers! Fighting games to me make the arcades!
-Street Fighter 2 for the Game Boy. -Interact Mega Memory Card. -Game Boy Pocket. AAA Batteries. All of them! Is this finally the completion of my bucket list item?
Found my old article for the game from GameFaqs (which is still posted). Reading that plus all the notes that I have taken about the game from more than a decade ago! There's levels to my adoration for the Game Boy version of Street Fighter 2!
On my never-ending quest to obtain all things promo related to Street Fighter 2 for the Game Boy! Any ads, inserts, promo materal, anything and everything Street Fighter 2! If you have any links to anything please email me at clementspocketgames@gmail.com
The lil bundle of joy is one. Remarks from Mom and Dad and family. We love you so much son!
We take every character from all of the Street Fighters listed, place them in a bracket, and decide with the power of "logic" which character could be the 10th character for Street Fighter 2 for the Game Boy!
Giving a shoutout to Davis (just literally switched my new email, sorry about the delay!) and leaving my email for fans to talk about games and the show! Thank you guys for listening and tuning in, its appreciated!
Make sure you have the proper V-Triggers and the right buffs and nerfs for hit frames, what SFV characters are good to add to SF2 for the Game Boy?
X-Men Mutant Academy was a popular fighting game in the early 2000's for PS1. It did not translate so well for the Game Boy color though it had plenty of promise. Since Street Fighter Alpha was made for the GBC, could we possibly have had a handheld port of X-Men vs Street Fighter?
(Deep breath...) X-Men vs Street Fighter, Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter, Marvel vs Capcom, Marvel vs Capcom 2, Marvel vs Capcom 3, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite, Tatsunoko vs Capcom, Capcom vs SNK, Capcom vs SNK 2 (losing breath at this time)....
We talk about 90's Game characters that would be perfect as characters in Street Fighter 2 for the Game Boy!
Back from the sabbatical, I have missed a lot with gaming, but it also confirms that the new gaming cycle isn't my forte, and that is fine. I don't mind being a spectator to the newer games, which look amazing!
*How i grew to enjoy sports and pro wrestling during the time away!
*Street Fighter V, looks kinda neat (not enough to obtain a PS4 yet!)
*Also, how it felt to play SF2 again (albeit it was at 1am on New Year's Day!)
Appreciation of the game during the gaming sabbatical, definitely am excited to play the game once the time is done but not in a rush to do so! Will be back with more gaming content next week!
This episode we do a Focus-Attack-Dash-Cancel (though i have not mastered it still and see what version from Vanilla IV, Super IV, Super IV: Arcade Edition, Super IV: Arcade Edition 2012 and Ultra Street Fighter IV. Fight locale, chosen!
Taking the sabbatical away from video games is helping me greatly! Plus my mind is wired weird where i find solutions to problems by not thinking of them. In the 90's, Capcom made Fighters Edge, a popular program among fighting game fans! If i had the resources of today back then, I would have created this fight club full of meetups and tournaments!
With not enough time to even turn on a video game let alone play, at least I still enjoy playing video games with others but my solo excursions into the world of video games are but a formality at this point of time in my life
Of Street Fighter 2! Yes, we are including Street Fighter: the Movie! We all would love to see Raul Julia as M. Bison again!
Spending the weekend with the little Nate the Great! I have been waiting for this moment to enjoy with my son, i love him dearly. Less video games, more quality time, just a recap of the weekend to share with the Mrs!
On vacation with my lovely wife Ashley, we were on to our second destination until we crossed The Game is Afoot Arcade. Unknowingly i would accomplish something on my bucket list...
Entering into the Alpha side including Warriors Dreams, 2, 2 Gold and Alpha 3 (3, 3 Upper, 3 Max!) to see what characters are best for the Game Boy version of SF2. Here comes a new confusing twist on the game's history (and a challenger!)
In a twist, we select the best 90's beat em up game character that would be best as a character for Street Fighter 2! And yes, there were beat em ups a plenty in the 90's, or for my PS3/360 fans FPS's in the current/last gen are what beat em ups to the 90's!
Now jumping to the New Generation, Second Impact and Third Strike, we select which characters are best for the Game Boy version like we select Super Arts!
Moving on to every other iteration of Street Fighter 2 in this episode to see which characters can be good for the Game Boy version. From New Challengers to Ultra, we cover everyone that has had rounds in the 2nd series of Street Fighter!
This season, we are going through every SF series to see what character that hasn't been selected to see which character would be best as a tenth character for the game! This episode we are starting on the oft-forgotten Street Fighter (sans 2!)
The end of another season, hoping everyone enjoyed the audio season, had a blast putting it together. The music in SF2 for the GB, highly underrated, thank you Yoko Shimomura!
Rumor has it....that this is the theme of the World Warrior. Or something deep like that! Ryu's theme from SF2, now i am jazzed up to walk the path of the Warrior....
A tournament mode would be great for these updated games and their new characters and DLC and whatnot. cough older games didn't need this cause all of the characters and updates were there cough
Going to Thailand to play Sagat's theme and ending for the game! Sadly, no 'Tigers' were said due to the 8-bit digital effects!
Bison's music from Street Fighter 2 for the Game Boy! That Z80 chip can pump out some impressive tunes!
Not the games but have a top 100 list for the greatest fighting game characters of all time! This may start a healthy and spirited debate and/or have fisticuffs a flying!
Akuma's gameplay in Tekken 7 seems to fit what could be the framework for not only Tekken vs Street Fighter but also include other fighting game characters from other companies as well! And the ban is lifted from talking about Street Fighter V because it is unavoidable!
Since we may not get any crossovers for Tekken with these other 3D fighters, why not two storied franchises? I don't want to say these franchises are lesser known but heralded franchises!
Street Fighter vs MK may not happen but these are two close franchises in violence, gore and over the top ratchetness! Who wouldn't want to hear "Toasty" after an Ultra Combo Brutality!
The last podcast w/Nate before he is one! And what if Street Fighter comes out with a version of every single character that was in every game?
Guile's themes from the game. Definitely considering making a mixtape of music now for the game, it has such great music!
Random topics: -Mario vs Sonic in 2D (Olympics sports but its 2D!) -Nate's in a bigger car seat! -Training resuming in SF2!
It took almost 9 seasons but DJ Street Fighter (one take cuts and all!) is banging out the tunes for characters in the game. The music in Street Fighter 2 and Game Boy chiptune music is highly underrated. Growing up with the Game Boy as my primary game system (still is to this day!) there is an appreciation to listening to the sounds and music. My hope is that the music of the game will be appreciated this season, enjoy!
Not really future ideas for arcades but GameStop dropped the ball for not having game areas where people can play at. Plus remembering arcades like Zounds and Supercade that were in Center City in the 90's!
It's an insane idea, Capcom vs SNK for the Game Boy but it is definitely possible to make (well, not by the companies, something something money...) due to Takara's win streak of fighting games for the system. Quite possibly the craziest idea i had and that is saying something!
The Game Boy is probably and arguably the gold standard when it comes to handheld games!
If i had to decide on my ideal fighting game and beat em up game for the Game Boy, what are the things i would incorporate into it?
Apparently Zangief's headbutt not only one-hit stuns Guile, but almost every other character, even a mirror match Zangief! However, Blanka escapes the one hit stun trap!
Talking about the Game Boy's i've owned and also which one is the most preferred when playing SF2!
I feel encouraged to go back and learn the game more though it is way different from training in something in my youth. Probably 5 mins a day if i am not asleep on the train ride home from work!
The greatest joy in my life, better than landing two perfects on level 5 Bison, better than finding a new tech or glitch, the greatest challenge produces the greatest reward!
I actually had fun playing Toshiden, as well as playing a few other fighting games such as Mortal Kombat 2, Power Quest, and Real Bout Special. However, something is just...missing, especially with the Takara fighting games. Plus i do not understand ring outs unless it is in Virtua Fighter, and does a fighting game really need a story or an objective?
Brief program update about the podcast! Also, why Streets of Rage 1 would be perfect for the Game Boy (before being rudely interrupted by construction workers!
Remember memory cards and external hard drives to save game data on a system? Remember passcodes for games that did not have any battery save function? Imagine someone reading this to you in a Buccaneer Pirate voice! Argh me matey!
Mentioning a few homebrew games, the current scene of it as well as if a homebrew fighting game could be made for the Game Boy!
Giving props to the Game Boy and the arcade ports of games that were made for it. Though if i had to choose between SF2 the game and my Game Boy...that's not even a debate!
Full disclosure: I love Mega Man X series! Zero series....meh. Would love to try the ZX Advent series. Huge fan of the 90's cartoons but could never get into the core "Mega Man" games from 1-11!
Just a random 24 hours involving Nate and I. Spoiler alert, no video games were played at any time of the day!
Just having a regular day not doing much at all and then NINTENDO SWITCH LITE. Hol up wait a minute!
Definitely my next game system. Ed note: this was BEFORE the NINTENDO SWITCH LITE came out!
Just more musings about different characters that were a problem to me in fighting games
If Nate and I were characters from Street Fighter 2 for Game Boy, which one would we be. I already know which character Josh would also be as well!
One of my favorite game concepts is the franchise mode in Madden. Its RPG elements and progression system for the team and its characters is one of the most redeeming traits of the game. EA could make a literal fortune with selling a mobile version with real time games and transactions!
Is there such a thing as a 1 player fighting games? Yes, and Capcom made one. Also a thought on a trend with newer fighting games
Despite the contrary, you CAN make money on selling used and new games! GameStop as a company took many risk, some sadly not successful. First i would change the name, its about time! Second, i would close down the bigger stores and focus on small, niche stores. Third, i would partner with game companies AND local mom and pop game stores for tournaments, resources and deals. Lastly, i would actually add more value to trade-ins and deals and sell used games/systems/repairs in stores! Don't be the next Toys R Us GameStop! We deserve a better game store experience without the corporate crap!
The adjustment of playing video games though i had planned and prepared for it during Ash's pregnancy. It has been a literal joy being Nathan's father. Also some quick thoughts on newer game consoles and games that are actually....positive?!? Egad!
Duly noted one of my favorite games is the Genesis 6pak (though i have a challenging relationship with SEGA that is over!). Just my thoughts on if we had a 6pak of games like my favorite game collection of all time for the Sega Genesis!
Ash and Nate surprised me with a gift of a mini arcade system for my first Fathers' Day! Its a preloaded one that comes with a few great Sega Genesis games! Life couldn't be more complete, sometimes you have to get away from the big console systems and just enjoy the games, and i get to create SF2 artwork for the cabinet! So Kosher!
Me: "I can't really get into 3D gaming, i grew up with 2D gaming blah blah blah podcast previous episode blah.... Super Mario 3D World: "Hold my Wii U pad thingy"
I finally talk about the Dhalsim stage-sized elephant in the room and offer some thoughts to #MakeVGreat....er not again! Judging a game that i only played once! Among other things!
Nate and I thank the listeners for 100 eps until he falls asleep from eating food in his high chair!
Inspired by a video I seen, i wanted to see if the other Street Fighter games in the series holds up as well from a view that tries not to be as biased! An episode where SF2 for the Game Boy is not the main focal point? Egad!
I talk about my newest craze besides water ice topped with Nerds candy, which sounds good right about now...
Just explaining how much the podcast, the game and how much you guys mean to me. Thank you for listening to me wax poetic about my favorite game!
Found yet another glitch in the game which can be game breaking. I feel like Ishihara from Pokemon Trading Card Game for the Game Boy where he leaves the island to find the rare Pop Cards after you make the last trade for his Surfing Pikachu Promotion Card. Yeah...i played too much Game Boy as a child!
TL:dr-i am going to purchase a few new game systems once i get a house. The epiphany i have when i realize that just because the newer games aren't meant for me, the retroheads shouldn't bash them. It doesn't make sense to me. Appreciate the new innovations while referencing what was before, or make a podcast about your favorite game that came out almost 25 years like i did. Tomato, potato!
Just epic ranting about...I honestly forgot, just driving to get the car back to Ash before I head to work!
Features unique to the Game Boy version are: -the first portable Street Fighter 2 -the first link player Capcom fighting game -the first introduction to Survival mode in the Street Fighter series. Features of my possible road rage include making sure the surrounding area when I am driving with Nate is secure -waking up late and having to a lot in a short time -drivers that purposefully drive slow, do not use turn signals WHILE TURNING. Yeah. :)
Tl:dr, found out that if you beat the game on level 3 that the endings are there as well! [/=p]
Ok, last ep i stated that SF24GB had some of the best music available for the Game Boy (OG and color!). Some of the best chiptune music ever made! As for the graphics? Um....lets focus on the positives of the graphics! I am biased but a realist!
Another completely rando episode. Nathan's sick and not feeling well so we are just spending time watching Elmo.
Arguably, SF2 for the Game Boy has THE ABSOLUTE BEST game music compared to any other original black and white Game Boy game! If i had DM's i would say DM me haha!
Tl:dl: coming back to you with some new podcasts after May 11th! Thank you all for the love and support, it is tremendous! 6k plays no ads from a passion project! Thank you!
Ending season 6 with a low note (boo!) with Bison's breakdown (double boo!) of his moveset in SF2 for the Game Boy (yay!)
Which game was more influental with the creation of the FGC as well as eSports that we see today? Both had a huge role to play but i think its hard to choose just one as more influental than the other. Its fun to decide though. SN: ignore the Sunday drivers driving on a Wednesday morning!
I learned many things about myself when rambling with a slight head cold and needing rest! 1). I am completely random 2). I shouldn't do a podcast when sick 3). Explaining isn't my strong suit d). Uh...forgot my point!
Its best to give roses to people who you love and appreciate while they are here! Thank you Josh, you are a great friend and the definition of a mensch!
Sagat's play through of Street Fighter 2 for the Game Boy. We have to keep Ryu far away from him. Far far away. Something something scar on chest from Ryu uppercut something!
Had the completely left field idea to record to Nathan something to listen to once he is older. I hope you find it one day when you are older son, love you! P.s. everything is ok and no one is near death or dying, just wanted to have something for my little buddy!
Blanka's level 5 run which offered plenty of surprises but nothing to clear up Blanka's actual backstory. How did he really get the electricity attack? The questions of life!
Zangief's run in Stret Fighter 2! The last few characters were chosen randomly, and this to me is the hardest run ever. However, Zangief in the game is not too shabby! For Mother Russia!
Ken's run through on level 5 of the game. definitely much to share about him (thanks Ryu and your above average self). The strength of family connection is something that the Tekken franchise should take notes on!
Ryu's play through on level 5. Honestly anti climatic, lost a few rounds but not a match. The easiest run through because he is an above average character. Other characters such as Ken can do certain moves better, but Ryu is well rounded. From a mirror match with Ryu to start until Bison, it was an easy playthrough compared to other level 5 runs.
Guile's SF2 level 5 run! The ups, the downs and also the emergence as Zangief as my greatest adversary on these level 5 runs! And i played the wrong ending theme for Guile near the end of the podcast. The hilarity!
Finally did the Balrog Lv 5 run, have the video as proof, will never do a Balrog run again! Hands down the most difficult gaming challenge I've ever done!
Still in the Hyperbaric Time Chamber (still!) i talk about the other Capcom handheld fighting games! There's plenty of em, but only one version of Street Fighter 2 that was made for a certain black and white system cough cough excuse em moi! Got a little congested there....
Its nostalgia time! Just talking about some random cartoons that made my childhood as an early 90's baby! Cereal from 8am-noon, toy commercials from Toys R Us, and all the 90's nostalgia anyone can handle! I hope those that are from the 80's-90's can relate as well as those that didn't grow up with it!
Why Multiplayer is important! A rant...that i forgot the reason on. Literally had to change Nathan's diaper while creating the synopsis for it. Man, teething diapers are no bueno!
The good: we are back to the episode format, reviewing Chun Li while beating the game on the hardest difficulty as well as her ending theme. The bad: hit a real and noticeable snag within the game which literally changes er...the game!
Hit a crazy snag with training with SF2 with Balrog...time to bring the paws out and go level 2 in the training!
I have a lot of random thoughts....a lot of useless facts as well but I think way more random thoughts! Just thinking of the concept of reviewing a video game...not that the review is wrong, but we have to consider that the review is subjective, does not reflect the opinion as a whole, and the possibility that the reviewer could be "influenced" by monetary means...yeah too many random thoughts!
A very brief and unknowledgable discussion on my other favorite game series. Also a brief discussion on beat em up games; the genre that started fighting games. Lastly, another brief statement on the rest of the fighting games on Game Boy!
Welp, i receive confirmation of an important, game breaking announcement that changes everything....uh associated with the podcast!
This too could also be misinterpreted as well! I can't lie, i may be getting burned out with following newer games. I respect that its for this era, but don't know if these newer games/consoles are for me! Revitalizing an idea i had as a kid for a fan club that i wanted to do! Also on the agenda, favorite games and game systems! Lastly, my progress in the "Hyperbaric Time Chamber" for SF2 as beating the game on hardest mode with the lowe tier characters becomes more challenging!
I know, i know, yet another rant about emulation with video games! Sorry guys but felt led to make this podcast based on the closing of the Wii Shop. Must we spend again on the same game with the Nintendo eShop? Yes! Also, i am still in the Hyperbaric Time Chamber (DBZ reference!) for SF2, with the lower tier characters it is really a challenge!
Just another random thought about fighting games that I ask, albeit a bit controversial. Is it domestic violence when a male fighter fights a woman? Would we need an all female Street Fighter tournament? Just random questions as I am still in SF2 training...
Sorry about the ASMR-esque style, Nathan was asleep. A quick thought on my favorite arcade vs series. Update Nathan woke up immediately after the podcast was finished. Nathan used SLEEP, it isn't very effective...
Still training, but excited to share with you guys some podcasts until SF2 training is complete. First up, "community" and the lack of representation of women in FGC/esports
Reviewing the rest of the Street Fighter 2 for Game Boy Instruction Booklet, as well as random thoughts and preparing to go into training for next season!

Sagat uppercut to the heart! And the power of the air Tatsu Spin Kick (Ryu/Ken) or Air Spinning Bird Kick (Chun-Li) as we wrap up Season 4. See you guys for season 5! God bless!
Random topics (hey, i do like the newer fighting games! The current game systems, however...)
A rant about what truly matters in Street Fighter 2 for the Game Boy above all else, the high score! Fight!
Big fish in a small pond. Some random thoughts on SF2 (GB), life, and differences in the JP and US versions.
