What if you had to have some kind of surgery and opioid pain medication was necessary to control pain afterward?  Many addicts who are in recovery, at some point, have to face this. We guard our sobriety ferociously because it is, in fact, a major part of who we are, and we take the risk of relapse very seriously. In this episode, I give some examples and challenge you to  face this question head on  now so that you will be prepared for it if  it ever happens.
