A man has been rushed to hospital after a suspected shark attack in Port Headland this morning.

Emergency services were alerted around 11.30am, with the Royal Flying Doctor Service also being informed.

The Department of Fisheries is trying to confirm whether or not a shark was involved but the Surf Life Saving WA twitter account posted a sighting of an unknown shark in the area at 11.40am.
