Today on the show we have Melissa Koole. Melissa is a Dutch model discovered at just 14 years old. After 3 years of struggling with weight she decided to pursue business school at Rotterdam University. 4 years later, she decided to give plus size modeling a shot and now lives in New York City as a full-time model. Melissa was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome when she was 19 years old. She went to the doctor on her own because she felt that she was experiencing developmental problems and wasn’t functioning like her peers. Although she was always afraid to speak about her syndrome in the past, she now wants to use it as a way to spread awareness about Asperger’s and help others who have it as well.
