Returning to the friendly confines of Rogers Centre, host Blake Murphy tees up the Blue Jays' upcoming homestand. He's joined by theScore’s Jonah Birenbaum to break down some of the numbers around the team and what needs to continue in their own park. Saturday is Cricket Day at the Park in Toronto and for some insight into the sport and it's similarities and notable differences with baseball, Vivek Jacob of Raptors.com stops by in-studio to school us all (27:46)! Blake then turns his attention back to the Blue Jays team on the field with Sportsnet’s own MLB Insider Shi Davidi, who takes an early look at who could be representing Toronto at the upcoming All-Star Game (51:37). To close today’s show, longtime MLB Umpire and author of The Umpire Is Out, Dale Scott joins to talk about PRIDE celebrations in baseball, the importance of showing that baseball is for everyone, as well as how far MLB has come in recent years. He also reminisces with us about some rather big Jays games he umpired, including one that ended with an infamous “bat flip” (01:21:57).
