You’ve probably heard this advice a thousand times before: “just stay consistent and the results will follow.” And don’t get me wrong - consistency is important. But here’s the truth: it’s definitely not the golden ticket people make it out to be. In today's episode, I’m breaking down why this advice is actually BS and what you should focus on instead. Because let’s be real - if consistency was all it took, we’d all have millionaire businesses, right? So let's rethink this idea because consistency on its own, isn't going to serve you in the long run. Hit play to learn more!

In today’s episode, I’m addressing one of the biggest roadblocks for business owners: the belief that there are just too many podcasts out there. And I totally get it - when it feels like everyone and their momma is starting podcast, it’s easy to think “why should I bother? How can I possibly stand out when there' so many other podcasts out there?”

But I’m here to debunk that myth! The idea that there are "too many podcasts" is simply not true. You absolutely can have a podcast that stands out, even in a saturated niche. By the end of this episode, you’ll feel much more confident about taking the leap to start your own podcast. I promise.

In today's episode, we’re talking about podcast strategy. If you’ve been hanging out with me on the podcast for a while you’ll know that is something I’m passionate about but I know that the word “strategy” can feel like this super serious, rigid thing and as a creative business owner, it might even make you want to run in the other direction.

So tune in to learn what a podcast strategy really is - and just as importantly - what it’s not and how my approach differs from other podcast experts.

If there's one thing I've learned on my entrepreneurial journey, it's that time is our most precious commodity. And as a solopreneur wearing all the hats and juggling a million things at once, I know you haven’t prioritised evergreen content in your business because it’s time consuming and time is something you never seem to have enough of, right?

Instead, you’ve focused your marketing efforts on social media - it feels quicker and easier to churn out content for your feed and stories. But here’s the thing - this strategy won’t translate into long-term growth for your coaching or service based business. It’s actually the fast route to burnout and falling out of love with your business. That’s why in this episode, we’re talking about why evergreen content is the best investment for coaches and service providers and how it’s the key to building a sustainable business. Let’s dive in!

In 2023, we live in a world where instant gratification has become the norm. We're accustomed to fast food, same-day, and even same-hour deliveries, and swiping right to find love.

But when it comes to podcasting, things are a little bit different. Many people believe that podcasting leads to overnight success, whatever success looks like for them. While there are exceptions, for the majority, it takes time and effort to see significant results.

Let's explore the timeline factors and realistic expectations because with the right podcast strategy, you can achieve results sooner than you think.

Congratulations on deciding to start your podcast! But hold on, before you dive into the technical aspects like microphones and recording equipment, let's focus on setting the foundations of your podcast. That's why in this episode, I'm sharing with you the five must-ask questions that will shape the direction and success of your podcast.

As a podcast strategist, I've seen many business owners jump straight to questions about microphones and recording equipment, but those details aren't the most important. Without a strong foundation, you won't have a clear vision for your show and may not see the results you're hoping for.

Think of it like building a house - you wouldn't start with the walls and roof before laying a solid foundation. The same goes for your podcast. By creating a strong strategy for your podcast from the beginning, you'll be able to clearly define your goals and create content that resonates with your target audience.

So, forget about the tech for now and let's create a roadmap to success!

In this episode, I'm challenging the notion that social media is the only way to grow a successful business and sharing why podcasting is the marketing strategy you need to make the impact you were meant to make.

Key takeaways from this episode:

  • Social media algorithms are constantly changing and can impact a business' reach and impact.

  • Your story and message can be amplified through a podcast in a way that social media cannot allow.

  • Unique perspectives and messages deserve to be heard by the people you want to share them with.

  • Shutting off the noise and focusing on serving your audience is key to success.

Are you experiencing Instagram fatigue? Can’t keep up with posting to your feed or maybe you’ve seen a decline in engagement on your feed posts and you’re wondering ‘what really is the point’? I get it! I’ve felt the same way. And with all the Instagram gurus saying you should do this, you should do that, you plod along every week spending hours creating content that the algorithm hides from the majority of your audience and the frustration and burnout sets in. Today’s episode is your permission slip to take a step back from posting to your grid and show up only in ways that light you up (and see results). If you resonate with the statement ‘I’m allergic to the social media hustle’ you’re not going to want to miss this episode!

In today’s episode I’m joined by Kristen Achziger, a sales page and website copywriter on a mission to help small business owners write humanized copy that converts ethically. Kristen believes the antidote to coercive, exploitative marketing techniques that hurt consumers (and our profits) is sales content that feels like an enthusiastic invitation, not a manipulative demand. The result? More qualified sales that feel good for you AND your customers, and stronger referrals going forward. Kristen is also the Creator of the 9-Grid system, a strategic sales funnel that educates and warms up new leads!

''You don't need a website to be successful'' some might say. And they may be right. Not having a website has worked for many in the online space.

But maybe you're like me and you see the benefits of having a website, especially as a podcaster. And as our guest this week, Vibeke Foss says, 'a website should be the start of a conversation' - so why would you not have one.

Vibeke is a web designer who builds WordPress websites for service businesses, coaches and consultants. She loves taking care of the technical part, but she also gives guidance on content and strategy. A big part of her website projects is to help her clients understand how to communicate on their website in a way that their ideal client visitors go "yes, I've come to the right place!".

She also make sure that any website she builds has a natural user flow, and clearly reflects the vibe of the business and the services that are offered.

In this episode, we discuss:

  • The three steps to creating a website that connects with your visitors
  • How the use of video/audio on your podcast page can influence your visitors' buying decisions
  • Ways you can engage your website visitors so they take the next step i.e. booking a call with you

Quote - ‘‘Don't worry about things not being perfect. It will change all the time. It's growing with you as a business, as you're learning as a person and as your clients develop as well.’’

You may have seen posts on social media that say ‘done is better than perfect’ and think that’s easy (I know I did) but for a perfectionist, it really isn’t that easy. There’s so much more that’s involved than taking messy action and getting something done. Our guest this week shares exactly what those traits are and how this language on social media can have the opposite effect than intended.

Rebecca Ann is the Perfectionist Cure Coach and has helped 100s of women unlock their true potential in their life, career & business. Helping to free them of limiting beliefs and constraints that are holding them back from achieving what they want & deserve. Rebecca is a recovering perfectionist who, in her former days as a lawyer and then a civil servant, lived shackled to the ideals of perfectionism - until she saw its true cost. Having left that life behind she is now committed to helping others free themselves from perfectionism with her proprietary method “The Perfectionist Cure” helping them realise a life of greater success, happiness & freedom. In essence, be more fabulous!

Rebecca Ann resides in London and works with clients internationally. She enjoys good food & good company, and has a love of rooftop bars coupled with a sunset & a Negroni in hand! She also has a shoe collection which would be the envy of even Carrie Bradshaw!

In this episode, we discuss:

  • The truth about perfectionism (and it’s not what you think)
  • The different types of perfectionism and how it can show up differently for each person
  • The first step you can take towards breaking free from your perfectionism
  • Reframes you can use to ground yourself when procrastination hits

Quote - ‘‘I used to really hold on to the belief that I had achieved everything because of my perfectionism. But then when I really see started to see the cost of it, I started to see how actually I had achieved everything in spite of, and as I said, I worked for the UK government and when I left, I was replaced, my job went into five people because I just thought if you're asking me to do something, a perfect person could, I could never rest in my success. So I was always constantly creating that overwhelm for me, where nothing was ever good enough.’’
