The Christian Faith Radio Hour exists, along with TheChristianFaith.org website, to help address the need for a healthy word of ministry among God’s children today.
Of the seven churches in Revelation 2-3, it is the church in Philadelphia alone that fulfills the Lord’s desire. While almost all of the other churches are reproved by the Lord, to this church alone the Lord says, “You…have kept My word and have not denied My name” (Rev. 3:8).
Prophetically, Philadelphia, “the church of brotherly love,” signifies the recovery of the genuine church life, beginning with the Plymouth Brethren in the 1800s and continuing, many would say, with the local churches raised up in the 20th century through Watchman Nee and Witness Lee.
However, the testimony of Philadelphia is spiritual, not organizational, and so today it may not be easy to identify. Yet, if we seek to be in the fellowship of Philadelphia (and we surely should!) there are two particular traits we may look for, based on the Lord’s word above. That is, in this fellowship there is, positively, the keeping of the Lord’s word in an absolute way, and negatively, there is not the denying of His name by calling ourselves something other than believers in Christ.

In Romans 7, the Apostle Paul considers how our efforts to keep the law bring us under bondage. In doing so, however, he brings to light, by means of an analogy regarding the relationship of a wife with her husband, a great secret concerning our relationship both with ourselves and with Christ (Rom. 7:1-4).
If we see this secret, it will give us a deeper realization of our need to be freed from our self-life so that we may walk with Christ in newness of life (Rom. 6:4, 8).

Among the seven churches in Revelation 2-3, it is the church in Philadelphia that fulfills the Lord’s desire. But, why did the Lord, under His sovereignty, name this city so that the church there would be “the church in Philadelphia,” and not “the church in Agape?” In other words, why is this church called “the church of brotherly love,” rather than, “the church of divine love?” (That’s what the Greek words mean, respectively.) We might expect that, since the divine love is so much richer and higher than brotherly love, it should be the church in Agape that fulfills the Lord’s desire, not the church in Philadelphia.
But in fact, in our experience, the divine love can only grow and develop within us in the environment of brotherly love (2 Peter 1:7). It is because the church in Philadelphia provides the environment for us to love the brothers and sacrifice ourselves for their sake, so that we enter into the experience of the divine love, that this church fulfills the Lord’s desire.

The Lord’s word to the seven churches in Revelation 2-3 is a truly remarkable prophecy of the seven stages the professing church would pass through before the Lord’s return. Understanding this prophecy will ground us much more firmly in our following of the Lord.
But, we can also view this prophecy in terms of the lessons it provides regarding our own spiritual experience, and that is what we focus on in this episode. The Lord’s word to Sardis, together with the negative aspect of Protestant history, help us to see how we should view the Protestant denominations; how we should stand with the Lord for His kingdom on the earth; our need to avoid useless contentions of words (1 Tim. 6:4-5, 2 Tim. 2:14); and the crucial importance of always watching for the Lord’s return.

Understanding the Lord’s word to the seven churches in Revelation 2-3 will greatly help us to see where we need to be in terms of our own church fellowship. So, in this edition of the podcast we come to His word to the church in Sardis, which is found in Revelation 3:1-6.
Just as during His earthly ministry, the word the Lord speaks to the seven churches is not at all political; rather, He gives a very strong, direct, and frank word of judgment to deal with so many of the negative and harmful things that had come in among the churches. And yet, at the same time, it is a word of love, for as the Lord says in Revelation 3:19,
“As many as I love, I rebuke and discipline.”As we saw in the previous episode, the Lord would not even speak directly to Thyatira, which signifies, prophetically, the pagan, apostate, Roman Catholic church; He would only speak to the remnant of His people there.
When we come to Sardis, however, which signifies the Protestant church of the Reformation, we see that, on the one hand, He does speak directly to this church. But, on the other hand, the Lord has nothing good to say about it; He only appreciates a “few” there who have not defiled their garments. To the church itself the Lord says, very simply, “You are dead!” (Rev. 3:1).
Considering such a sober word will help us to realize that, while Sardis was indeed a real improvement over Thyatira, it still falls far short of the Lord’s desire. Thus, we still need to go on until we arrive at the church in Philadelphia.

As the followers of Christ, it is important for us to not only love what the Lord loves, but also to hate what the Lord hates; otherwise, it indicates that our love for the Lord may not be so genuine, or at least, not so enduring.
So, in this episode of the podcast we consider the Lord’s word to the church in Thyatira in Revelation 2:18-29. To this church the Lord says that He has “the eyes like a flame of fire,” because in His word here He burns away all its false, outward appearance to expose this church for what it truly is.
In brief, Thyatira prefigures the Roman Catholic church; the Lord’s word here corresponds to His Parable of the Tares in Matthew 13:33, and also to the vision of the Great Harlot of Revelation 17.
All of these passages make it very clear that the Lord considers the Roman Catholic church to abomination. Far from being the one true church, as it so strongly claims for itself, it is the continuation of the pagan system of worship found in ancient Rome, which in turn was a continuation of so much of the paganism of the ancient Middle East.
While this is a very negative topic, if we see the real nature of the Roman church, it will be a great protection to us, to keep us from being deceived by that evil religious system as we seek to follow Christ today. We will also appreciate much more fully the Lord’s desire to have the one true church, which is composed of all the genuine believers in Christ, as His spotless bride.

As we study the prophecy of the seven churches in Revelation 2-3, which shows us the seven stages of the history of the church, we will gain a clear view of where we should seek to be in terms of our church fellowship, namely, in the fellowship of the church in Philadelphia.
In this episode we consider the fourth of these churches, the church in Thyatira. This signifies the apostate, pagan, Roman Catholic church, beginning from the last part of the sixth century and remaining until the Lord’s return. This is the “Jezebel” of Revelation 2:20 and also the “Great Harlot” seen later in the book of Revelation, in chapter 17. This stage of the church is also depicted in the Parable of the Leaven in Matthew 13:33.

The more you study the prophecy of the seven churches in Revelation 2-3, the more you have to be convinced that only God Himself could have written this book; only He could have so accurately foreseen the history of the professing church, as it is depicted in this prophecy, from the end of the first century all the way until the Lord’s return.
Moreover, having a clear view of the prophetic history of these churches will help us see where we need to be in terms of our church fellowship, namely, in the fellowship of the church in Philadelphia.
In this episode we consider the third of these churches, Pergamos. This church signifies the church from the fourth through the sixth centuries, that is, the church as it was turning away from Christ and being corrupted by the world. This stage of the church is also depicted in the Parable of the Tares in Matthew 13:24-30.

In Revelation 2-3 the Lord first deals with the seven churches, which show us prophetically the history of the entire church age, before going on in the remaining chapters of Revelation to judge the world and Satan. This is in keeping with the principle the Apostle Peter gives us, that “judgment begins with the house of God” (1 Pet. 4:17).
On the one hand, before God the churches are golden lampstands, shining out God’s testimony, and we really need to appreciate them in this way. But even so, on the other hand, they exist practically on the earth according to their actual condition, and the Lord judges them on that basis in chapters 2-3 of the book of Revelation.
In this episode of the podcast, we consider the first two of these churches, Ephesus & Smyrna. These represent, respectively, the church at the end of the first century and the suffering church of the 2nd and 3rd centuries.

This episode begins with a clip of some recent sharing by Titus Chu, a brother who has helped me a great deal in my walk the Lord. He answers the question, “What is the need of the churches today?,” saying, very directly, that the need is for brothers and sisters to be raised up by the Lord to serve Him with various ministries; only when there are such ones among us can the churches go on in a good way.
We then begin a study of the Lord’s word to the seven churches in Revelation 2-3, which is a remarkable prophecy of the public history of the church, and of the seven stages it would go through before the Lord returns. If we have a clear view of this prophecy, it will greatly help us to see where we can find the New Testament fellowship of the Body of Christ today.

This episode begins by highlighting the ministries of three servants of the Lord who helped the saints enter into the experience of Christ as their life, and recommending their books to the saints: T. Austin Sparks, Mary McDonough, and Andrew Murray. I then go on to encourage readers to study the writings of J.N. Darby, who focused more on the objective aspect of the truth, and also the 1917 edition of the Scofield Study Bible.
Finally, I recommend the ministry of Brother Titus Chu, which has been a great help to me personally. He was a co-worker of Witness Lee, and currently serves the Lord in the Great Lakes area of the United States and Canada, and oversees as well.
The last segment begins to consider the question of just what is, and what is not, the New Testament Fellowship of the believers in Christ.

Which ministry we choose to receive will to a large extent decide our life. Those who receive the ministry of the pope will be Catholics, those who receive what Mohamed taught will be Muslims, etc. For those of us who are Bible-believing Christians, the ministry we choose to receive will to a large extent determine how well we are able to go on with the Lord.
So, in this episode I share how I came to appreciate the ministry of Witness Lee, and testify of the help I received through him. He labored to bring the saints into the experience of Christ living within us as our hope of glory (Col. 1:27), which is the central point of the entire Bible. This was an enormous help to me personally in my walk with the Lord, and while we do not exalt any man, I am so very grateful to the Lord for allowing me to receive this help, and to Brother Lee for serving us as he did.

In the 20th century the Lord used two of His servants, Watchman Nee and Witness Lee, in a unique way to help the saints into the experience of Christ as their life, and as their indwelling hope of glory (Col. 1:27).

Now in this episode I begin to share about Witness Lee, testifying first to how much I appreciate the help I received from him in my Christian life, and then going on to deal with some specific objections people have regarding his ministry.

In Colossians 1:27 the Apostle Paul tells us, in a concise way, what is the central point of the entire Bible: “Christ in You, the hope of glory.”
But how can we enter into the experience of Christ living within us? The New Testament makes it clear that for this to happen there must be, first of all, brothers raised up as servants of the Lord to help us in this regard (cf. Col. 1:24-29).
In the 20th century the Lord used two brothers in particular in this way, Watchman Nee and Witness Lee. So, in this episode I first share about the need for such ministers, and then begin to share my own experience of how I came to appreciate the ministries of these two brothers.

Have you ever asked yourself, What is the Bible all about? Or, to put it another way, What is the central thing in the entire Bible? How would you answer that question?
Fortunately, we don’t have to guess, because there is one verse in the New Testament that tells us, very specifically, what the Bible is all about, namely, Christ and our relationship with Him.
In this episode we consider the verse in the New Testament that makes this clear, and which helps us understand just what is our relationship with Christ.

As the believers in Christ, we should always grow and be enlarged in our experience of Christ as our life, and in our realization and enjoyment of Christ as everything to us.
This is just like the Children of Israel in the Old Testament, in their journey from Egypt to the Good Land: In each stage of their journey, their experience of God’s provision for them, and of His purpose for them, became richer and higher.
So, in this episode of the podcast we consider how their journey typifies our experience of being enlarged in Christ.

God created the universe for the sake of His purpose (Rev. 4:11), but as the believers in Christ, do we really understand what that purpose is? We should not think it is just to save us from eternal damnation, or that we would go to heaven.
Rather, it is so much higher than that: God has predestined us to be conformed to the image of Christ so we would be His many brothers (Rom. 8:29, Eph. 1:5), and together become God’s eternal dwelling place! For this, we must enter into Christ and allow Him to be everything to us, just as God wanted the Children of Israel to enter into the Good Land so they could build up the temple as God’s Old Testament dwelling place.

RECORDING
This edition of the program was recorded in Chicago, Illinois on the Lord’s Day, 4 February 2024.
One of great truths of the Christian life is that, as the believers in Christ, we are now “in Christ” (1 Cor. 1:30, Eph. 1:3, etc.). Even our redemption, as we can see from the type of the Passover, is in Christ; we are not redeemed apart from Christ (Eph. 1:7).
In contrast, if we feel that, because we are under the blood, we can now live the Christian life apart from Christ, we are actually living as “spiritual zombies”; that is, we are trying to live the Christian life without having the divine life of Christ, and that can only end in failure.
So, we need to tell the Lord: Give me a vision of the fact that I am now “in Christ”; Amen!

This edition of the program was recorded in Chicago, Illinois on Tuesday, 23 January 2024.
In the entire Bible the fullest, most complete picture of the redemptive work of Christ in is the Passover, through which God rescued the Children of Israel from slavery in Egypt. In the New Testament we have the plain words concerning redemption, which give us the proper teachings about this matter, but our understanding of redemption, and how it is applied to us, will become much richer as we consider the Passover.
So, in this podcast we continue with our study of the Passover, by considering, first, the difference between what the Israelites were told to do on the outside of their house, and what they were told to do within their house, to keep the Passover. We also consider who was qualified to eat of the Passover, as well as how, after we keep the Passover, we must also keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread.

RECORDING
This edition of the program was recorded in Chicago, Illinois on Wednesday, 3 January 2024.
Of all the books of the Bible, Exodus gives us the fullest picture of God’s redemptive work. This book begins with God’s people in slavery in Egypt, but ends with the glory of God appearing among His people in the tabernacle in the wilderness; what a wonderful picture of redemption is this!
From this we see that the purpose of Christ’s redemptive work in the New Testament is not merely to save us from our sins, but to deliver us from the world (Acts 2:40, Gal. 1:4), today’s Egypt, and the authority of Satan, today’s Pharaoh (John 12:31; 2 Cor. 4:4), so God can gain His kingdom on the earth and build up the church as His dwelling place.
So, in this podcast we come once again to the book of Exodus, focusing on the struggle the Children of Israel went through to leave Egypt behind, including how Pharaoh bargained with Moses, offering him compromises to get the Children of Israel to stay in the land.
All of this provides many important lessons for us as those who seek to follow Christ today (1 Cor. 10:5-6).

RECORDING
This edition of the program was recorded in Chicago, Illinois on Friday, 16 December 2023.
Today so many feel we cannot trust that the Bible really is the word of God. This may be especially true among certain kinds of scholars; they claim the text of the Scripture has been corrupted, and anyway, that so many of the stories in the Bible are merely historical myths and symbolism, so we should not take it too seriously in any event.
There is, however, one witness more than any other who rebuts such claims, and that is Jesus Christ Himself. Therefore, in this episode of the podcast we consider how no one ever trusted so much in the Bible and its integrity, nor did anyone ever take it in such a literal, historical way, as He did.
This should surely strengthen our faith in the Bible, and also guide us today, as the followers of Christ, to take the Bible, not as mythology, but for what it truly is: as the unique, revealed, literal word of God.

RECORDING

Note: The audio for this episode has also replaced that from Episode #1 of the podcast.
As the believers in Christ, we can and should have the assurance that, because our sins are forgiven, we will be with the Lord for eternity; praise the Lord for that! (John 5:24).
Nonetheless, we cannot have the assurance of where we will spend the Millennium, the 1,000 year reign of Christ upon this present earth. As the New Testament makes clear, that will be based, not upon the blood of Christ, but upon how we live our Christian life. Thus, that will not be determined until we stand before the judgment seat of Christ (2 Cor. 5:10; cf. Rom. 14:10).
A proper understanding of this aspect of the truth will, on the one hand, strengthen our assurance of salvation, and on the other, save us from becoming loose and careless in our following of Christ.
In previous episodes in this series we looked at the clear verses in the New Testament regarding this matter, as well as the type of the Children of Israel. So, in this episode we go on to consider some of the basic parables the Lord gives in the four Gospels to explain this matter to us.

If we want to understand what salvation is, we must see the central matter in the entire Bible, what it shows us from the very beginning to the very end: that God’s ultimate desire is to be one with man, and to make man one with Him.
So, He created us in such a way that we could receive His divine life. And today, when we believe in Christ, this life begins to work in us, through regeneration in our human spirit (John 3:6) and transformation in our soul (Rom. 12:2). In this way He brings us into His divine glory, so that we can dwell in God and He can dwell in us.
Praise the Lord for His marvelous purpose for mankind!

RECORDING
This edition of the program was recorded in Chicago, Illinois on Monday, 13 November 2023.
To understand what salvation is in the New Testament, we need to be clear about what the Apostle Peter calls “the salvation of the soul” (1 Peter 1:9).
Our Christian life begins with the new birth, which takes place in our spirit the very moment believe in Christ (John 3:6); it will end with the transfiguration of our bodies at the Lord’s return; this will also take place in a moment, “in the twinkling of an eye” (1 Cor. 15:52).
In contrast, the salvation of our soul does not take place in an instant. Rather, our soul must be saved through an ongoing, life-long process the New Testament speaks of as “transformation” (Rom. 12:2, 2 Cor. 3:18, Matt. 16:24-27).
So, to receive the salvation of our soul we must run the Christian race for our entire life, as the Apostle Paul did (1 Cor. 9:24-27, Phil. 3:13-14). In this way we will be prepared to see the Lord when He returns, and thus receive the prize of reigning with Him for the 1,000 years of His kingdom on the earth (2 Tim. 4:7-8, 18).

As Christians we often speak of “the assurance of salvation.” And it is truly wonderful to know that our sins are forgiven because Christ shed His blood for us on the cross; Hallelujah!
But we can, and should, have a much greater assurance even than that: we should have the assurance of overcoming (Rev. 21:7). That is, one day, whether in the Millennium or in eternity, we will not merely be forgiven; we will be fully conformed to the image of Christ in glory (Rom. 8:29-30); praise the Lord even more for that!
And with that assurance, we should seek to experience the divine glory working within us even today (2 Cor. 3:18, Heb. 2:10).

RECORDING
This edition of the program was recorded in Chicago, Illinois starting on Friday, 27 October 2023
How many Christians today have a proper view of salvation? Most, it seems, think that once we believe in Christ and our sins are forgiven, God’s work in us is basically over; now we are just waiting to go to heaven.
That was not the view of the Apostle Paul. He knew that, even though his eternal destiny was secure, he still had a race to run to win the prize of reigning with Christ during His 1,000 year kingdom on the earth (1 Cor. 9:24-27.)
So, we need to see that forgiveness is not the end of God’s work in our lives, but only the beginning. In this episode of the podcast, therefore, we consider how, if we are not faithful to run the race in this age, we may face a very serious discipline when we see the Lord at the judgment seat of Christ (2 Cor. 5:10); we may even be excluded from the kingdom of God on the earth (Eph. 5:5), though we will still be with the Lord in His eternal kingdom.
May the Lord make us those who are faithful to run the race and win the prize of reigning with Him for the 1,000 years!

RECORDING
This edition of the program was recorded starting on Thursday, 28 September 2023 in Chicago, Illinois
After Jesus ascended into heaven, two angels appeared and asked the apostles, “Why do you stand gazing up into heaven?” (Acts 1:11). So many Christians are like this today, “standing around, gazing into heaven.” This is because they’ve taken the “heaven drug,” the profoundly false teaching that, as the believers in Christ, our destiny is to go to heaven.
What the Bible actually shows us is that our eternal dwelling place will be with the Lord on the earth, in the New Jerusalem (Rev. 21:1-2). So, our calling as Christians today is not to wait to go to heaven, but to stand with the Lord for His purpose to defeat Satan and bring the Kingdom of the Heavens to the earth. Only when we see this can we understand the real meaning of our Christian life.

RECORDING
This edition of the program was recorded starting on Tuesday, 19 October 2023 in Chicago, Illinois
The unspeakably evil attack on Israel this past weekend should cause us as Christians to wake up to the real situation of the world today.
First of all, it shows us there is no moral equivalence between the religion of Islam and the Christian faith. The former has from its inception used violence as a means to spread itself; the latter was founded through the sacrifice of its founder, and, in the same way, has often been spread through the suffering of Christians.
In a larger sense, this attack should remind us that today, Christ does not rule over the world directly. He does rule over the world in a general way, but He has not yet taken His place on His own throne; rather, He is seated on His Father’s throne (Rev. 3:21).
So, the direct ruler of the world today is Satan (John 12:31, 2 Cor. 4:4). Jesus, in order to give people time to repent, is patiently waiting to take His place on His throne before He establishes universal righteousness during His 1,000 year reign on the earth.
If we are clear about this, it will very much strengthen us to not love the world. Instead, we will forsake all to follow Christ and serve Him until He comes to take His place as the rightful king over all the earth (Luke 1:31-32, Matt. 25:31).

RECORDING
This edition of the program was recorded on Thursday, 12 October 2023 in Chicago, Illinois
The most basic, foundational truth of the New Testament, and of the Bible as a whole, is that God desires to be one with man; that is why He became a man in the person of Jesus Christ (John 1:1, 14). In doing so, He necessarily took on the human nature.
Now, to complete the process of making us one with Himself, He is working to uplift our human nature with His divine nature. He does this by giving us His divine life with its divine nature through our new birth in Christ (John 1:12-13, 3:3), so that, as the Apostle Peter says, we are made “partakers of the divine nature” (2 Pet. 1:4).
Unfortunately, so many Christians today fail to understand this truth, in large part because their Bibles wrongly tell them that we have merely been “adopted” by God (e.g., Eph. 1:5, Gal. 4:5), so that that we do not actually share in His life.
The problem has to do with how to correctly translate the Greek word huiothesia (Strong’s #5206). So, in this shortcast we consider the crucial question of what our relationship with God actually is, and also, what is a better way to understand and translate this Greek word.

The fact that the Bible speaks of “the only begotten” Son of God (John 1:14, 18, etc.), has troubled some Christians. This is because such a statement could be taken to mean that the Son was begotten at a certain point, rather than being the eternal God who has always existed. However, when we look at this statement in the context of John 1, the meaning is clear: He never needed to come into existence by being begotten, for He always has existed as the only-begotten Son of God.

To study the Scriptures in a profitable way we need to come to them with a proper mindset. This is especially true when it comes to the matter of the reward and discipline of the believers in the coming age, the Millennium, because it is so easy for us to be biased in this regard for one reason or another.
So, in the first segment of this episode, we begin by considering why it’s so important to see the truth of the premillennial return of the Lord, and then go on to consider, as a continuation of the previous episode, two points concerning the false teaching of amillennialism. Then in the second segment we consider some basic issues that may hinder us from coming to the Scriptures with a proper mindset.

Revelation 20 shows us that there will be a 1,000 year reign of Christ upon the earth after this age. However, the teaching of Amillennialism denies this, and in doing so deprives God’s children of so much of His word, and of so much of our hope of the Lord’s return; this is something truly evil. Nonetheless, it seems that today this evil teaching is gaining in popularity among Bible-believing Christians.
In this episode, therefore, we consider three great “strikes” in the Bible against Amillennialism, to explain why we should not accept it if we desire to hold to the Biblical view of the end times. Hopefully, in so doing, we will gain a fuller appreciation of how we can trust in the Bible as the literal word of God, and in its revelation of things to come.

Each of the letters to the seven churches Revelation 2-3 concludes with a distinct reward the Lord promises “to him who overcomes.” Then in Revelation 20:4-6 we see the fulfillment of these promises in “the first resurrection” (Rev. 20:5), during the 1,000 year reign of Christ on the earth.
So, to have a good understanding of the overcomers’ reward, we need to look closely at these verses in Revelation 20. They show us that, not only will the Lord make a distinction between the overcoming believers and the defeated believers, but even among the overcomers, there will be degrees of reward.

The Passover in Exodus 12 is a remarkable picture of the death of Christ. Before we can fully appreciate it, however, we need to see how it is connected to the Lord’s Table. The Passover is the Old Testament memorial feast pointing forward to the death of Christ; the Lord’s Table is the memorial feast of the New Testament. On the one hand it points us back to the death of Christ, and on the other, it points us forward to His return.
Eventually, both of these feasts will be fulfilled in the Marriage Supper of the Lamb in the next age.

In the book of Revelation we see the church that fulfills God’s desire in this age, that is, the church in Philadelphia (Rev. 3:8-10). However, in First Corinthians, the Apostle Paul shows us the way to deal with the problems that may arise in the practical church life, so that we can become the church the Lord desires.
In brief, his solution is always the same: to point the saints back to the Lord Jesus Christ as the unique foundation, center, and content of the church life.

The Parable of the Sower is perhaps the clearest depiction in the entire Bible of how we need to deal with our heart so that it can become the good ground for the Lord to grow within us.
In particular, those of us who have been in the Lord for a number of years need to be careful of the “thorns” that may grow up within us to choke the word and so prevent us from bringing forth any fruit to maturity.
In the Old Testament, Lot, when he left Abraham, seems to be an example of one who did not deal with his heart in an adequate way. Thus, his story is a serious warning to us today.

It is very common for Bible teachers to refer to the “atonement” when speaking of the death of Christ on the cross. However, this is to demean what Christ actually accomplished by His death.
In the Bible the word “atonement” is only used in the Old Testament, in relation to the animal sacrifices of the Old Covenant which only covered sins; they could never take them away (Heb. 10:1-4). In contrast, the New Testament speaks of the “redemption” we have in Christ (Rom. 3:24, Eph. 1:7), referring to His death on the cross, which took our sins away completely, once and for all (Heb. 10:14, John 1:29).

This edition of the program was recorded beginning on 10 August 2023.
The book of Exodus shows us, using the picture of the Children of Israel leaving Egypt, that the purpose of Christ’s redemptive work is not merely to save us from our sin, but to deliver us from the world, today’s “Egypt” (Acts 2:40, Gal. 1:4). This is so God can gain His kingdom on the earth and build up the church as His dwelling place, just as the Children of Israel built up the tabernacle in the wilderness.
So, in this podcast we continue to consider this picture. Here we see how Pharaoh bargained with Moses, doing everything he could to keep the Children of Israel in bondage in Egypt, just as today Satan makes various offers to us to keep us enslaved in his world-system.

SUMMARY
Christ has redeemed us not merely to deal with our sin, but to deliver us from “this present evil age” so that He can gain His church and His kingdom on the earth.

RECORDING
This edition of the program was recorded beginning on Saturday, 22 July 2023.
The book of Exodus begins with God’s people in slavery in Egypt, but it ends with the glory of God appearing among His people in the tabernacle in the wilderness; what a wonderful picture is this!
It shows us that the purpose of Christ’s redemptive work is not merely to save us from our sin, but even more, to deliver us from the world, today’s “Egypt” (Acts 2:40, Gal. 1:4), so God can gain His kingdom on the earth and build up the church as His dwelling place.
So, in this podcast we begin to consider what we can learn about our Christian life today from the struggle of the Children of Israel to get out of the land of Egypt.

RECORDING
This edition of the program was recorded beginning on Saturday, 22 July 2023.
And it came to be in those days that He went out to the mountain to pray, and He spent the whole night in the prayer of God. — Luke 6:12, SV
We need a greatly uplifted view of prayer in these days, as we see the poor condition of the church and the desperate situation of this country as a whole.
To pray “the prayer of God” means that we do not simply ask God for so many things, or to help us with various aspects of our life. Rather, in such prayer we stand with God for His will in heaven to be done on the earth. As Watchman Nee states in his book, The Prayer Ministry of the Church:
“In all matters related to Him, God will not act until he obtains the cooperation of the will on earth….The church’s ministry includes bringing down to earth the will that is in heaven [Matt. 6:9-10]. But exactly how does the church bring this about? It is by praying on the earth….Prayer as work or ministry means that we stand on God’s side, desiring what He desires.”

RECORDING
This edition of the program was recorded on Thursday, 13 July 2023.
In his letter to the Romans, the Apostle Paul tells us:
Whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. — Romans 10:13; cf. Acts 2:21
In the Gospel of Matthew, however, the Lord Himself says:
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but he who does the will of My Father who is in the heavens.” — Matthew 7:21
Yet, the Lord here is not contradicting Paul; rather, these two statements balance each other. Paul is sharing how we can receive the free gift of eternal salvation (John 5:24), while the Lord is speaking of gaining the reward of reigning with Him for the 1,000 years of His kingdom on the earth (Rev. 20:4-6). To be clear that these are two very different matters is to rightly divide the word of the truth (2 Tim. 2:15).
And if we are clear about this distinction, it should also help us to understand that God’s goal for us as the believers in Christ is not that we would go to heaven, but that we today would bring God’s authority from the heavens to the earth.

RECORDING
This edition of the program was recorded on Friday, 30 June 2023.
Program Description
Since its very beginning, America has always been a refuge for God’s persecuted people. Today, however, with lawlessness so much on the rise in this country, it may seem that its days of serving as such place may be coming to an end.
However, there is a verse in the Bible that gives us reason to hope that even during the Great Tribulation, America will still be a place to which God’s people may flee for safety. In this shortcast we consider this verse, namely, Revelation 12:14.

There is a key statement in Daniel 7:25 regarding the coming Antichrist:
He...shall intend to change times and law.
If we want to understand the times we live in, we need to understand what this means. In brief, as G.H. Pember says, the Antichrist...
...will aim at an entire reconstruction of human society, upon principles which have long been working beneath the surface in a mystery of lawlessness.
And indeed it is this “mystery of lawlessness” (2 Thess. 2:7) that is already at work today, mainly through the efforts of the social and political Left, to overthrow any standard of righteousness in our society. As Pember also says:
France..., by the revolution of 1789, began to spread the principles of that anarchy out of which Antichrist will arise.
Drawing a good deal from my own book, Lawlessness, the Left, & the Antichrist, we consider in this episode how this will eventually result in mankind’s final apostasy against God (2 Thess. 2:3) and thus prepare the way for the coming of the last great evil leader of fallen mankind.

RECORDING
This edition of the program was recorded beginning on Monday, 22 May 2023.
When we look at the three different types of crowns for the believers mentioned in the New Testament, we see that they are the expression of the divine nature we received when we were born anew in Christ (John 1:12-13, 2 Pet. 1:4). They are the crown of righteousness (1 Tim. 4:8), the crown of life (James 1:12, Rev. 2:10), and the crown of glory (1 Pet. 5:4).
So, in a very real sense, we should experience these crowns today, by allowing the life we received as a seed in the new birth (1 Pet. 1:23) to grow and develop from within us, until others can see us “crowned” with the divine righteousness, the divine life, and the divine glory manifested in our daily living.

RECORDING
This edition of the program was recorded beginning on Thursday, 11 May 2023.
Program Description
The New Testament speaks of the believers receiving crowns a total of six times. (In another two instances crowns are referred to in a mostly metaphorical way.) In each of these instances, the crown is a reward earned as a result of faithfully following and serving Christ (e.g., 2 Tim. 4:7-8). In the New Testament, crowns are never given simply as a free gift of grace.
So in this shortcast, we briefly look at each case in the New Testament of believers being rewarded with crowns, to illustrate the principle that we must one day give an answer to the Lord for how we lived our Christian life (2 Cor. 5:10).

RECORDING

Program Description
As the believers in Christ, our eternal destiny is already secured; thank the Lord for that! But, where will we be during the 1,000 year reign of Christ on the earth, the millennium? (Rev. 20:1-10). Will that be a time of enjoyment and blessing for us? Or a time of suffering and shame?
That is not yet determined; rather, it depends, not on whether we believe in Christ, but on whether we are faithful to follow Him in this age or not.
This is a side of the truth few Christians today are aware of, namely, that we are responsible before the Lord for how we live our Christian life, and will give an account to Him regarding that at the judgment seat of Christ. (2 Cor. 5:10; cf. Matt. 16:24-27). That judgment could even result in our being cast, for a time, into the “outer darkness” (Matt. 22:13, 25:30).
So in this shortcast we briefly consider, first, our responsibility as Christians, and then, just what is the outer darkness?
As the believers in Christ, we need to have a basic grounding in what the Bible shows us regarding the Antichrist and human government.
While this is a very negative topic, it is nonetheless a part of the “whole counsel of God” (Acts 20:27). And even the Apostle Paul made sure the young believers he was caring for in Thessalonica knew this evil ruler was coming (2 Thess. 2:5).
Moreover, if we have a clear view of who the Antichrist is, and of the real nature nature of human government, we will see through the world’s false appearance. This will greatly help us to be those who “do not love the world” (1 John 2:15).
So in this podcast we look at Daniel 7, which is where the Biblical revelation of the Antichrist begins.

RECORDING
This edition of the program was recorded in segments beginning on Monday, 24 April 2023.
In his vision in Revelation 20, the Apostle John records how Satan will be bound and cast into the abyss for the 1,000 years of the Millennium, while at the same time the saints will be reigning over this present earth. Hallelujah!
But, is this something that is actually going to happen? Or, is this chapter just speaking in a symbolic way, as some Bible teachers claim?
In this edition of the Radio Hour “Shortcast” (it’s just over 10 minutes long) we look at an event from the earthly ministry of Jesus that gives us a definitive answer to this question.

RECORDING
This program was ecorded in segments on Thursday, 20 April 2023.
As the believers in Christ, we need to see that God wants to have a building as His eternal dwelling place. For this purpose He is transforming us all into stones for His building.
This was Peter’s experience; after the Father showed him the vision of who Jesus was, and Peter confessed Him as the Christ, the Son of the living God, the Lord showed Peter a vision who he, Peter, now was: a stone for God’s building (Matt. 16:16-18). Then, in his first epistle, Peter made it clear that all the believers in Christ need to have this very same experience (1 Peter 2:4-8).
To appreciate what all this means, we need to see Christ as the Stone for God’s building in three aspects: Toward the unbelievers, especially the Jews, He is the Stumbling Stone, and to the rebellious nations, He is the Smiting Stone; but to the believers,
“Behold, I lay in Zion
A chief cornerstone,
chosen and precious,
And he who believes on Him
Will by no means be put to shame.”
— 1 Peter 2:6
Finally, this all becomes real to us in our experience when we come directly to Christ to contact Him as the Living Stone (1 Peter 2:4), to allow Him to impart His divine life into our being.

RECORDING
This edition of the program was recorded in segments beginning on Wednesday, 12 April 2023.
God created mankind to rule the earth on His behalf. Since the Fall, however, we have demonstrated over and over again that we are not capable of ruling as the Lord originally intended. Instead, as we know all too well, the world today is in a state of tremendous chaos. And this chaos will eventually culminate in the rise of the Antichrist.
At the time of the end, however, the Lord will come to demolish all human government, as pictured in Daniel 2, and then He will establish His 1,000 year reign on the earth. That will be a time of absolute righteousness, and of a peace and joy and blessing that we cannot even imagine today. Moreover, it will finally show mankind what it is to live under the authority of the heavenly King.

RECORDING
This edition of the program was recorded in segments on Thursday, 6 April 2023.
King Nebuchadnezzar’s dream of the Great Image in Daniel 2, and the prophet Daniel’s interpretation of it, is a remarkable forecast of the history of human government upon the earth. It spans all of human history from that time, around 600 B.C., until the coming day when Christ will return to put an end to all other kingdoms and establish His own government upon the earth.
Moreover, when we understand it properly, this vision clearly shows us that we are now very close to the end of human history.
Such a prophecy in the Bible demonstrates to us that the Lord truly is the one who “declares the end from the beginning” and who says,
“My counsel shall stand,
And I will do all My pleasure.
”— Isaiah 46:10
If you have any doubts about that, or about the Bible as the word of God, I encourage you to listen to this edition of the podcast and to consider Daniel 2 and this vision of the Great Image.

Daniel was a truly remarkable servant of the Lord. He was a prophet (Matt. 24:15), and yet, for the most part he did not prophesy. Rather, he was one who saw visions, including some of the key visions in the entire Bible, such as the vision of the Great Image, the Four Beasts, and the prophecy of the 70 Weeks.
His life, unlike that of many Old Testament prophets, is not so remote or different from our own, and it shows us how we, like Daniel, can be full of vision as we follow the Lord today.

The study of Biblical prophecy will give us a firm assurance that the word of God in the Bible is fully trustworthy, and also give us a much better view of the Lord’s overall purpose on the earth today. In this program we look at the earliest prophecies in the Bible concerning the Nation of Israel, and how these prophecies have been fulfilled in Israel’s actual history until today.

Will Christ reign on this present earth for 1,000 years when He returns in glory? That is what the Bible strongly affirms (Rev. 20:1-10), and as Christians, a great part of our hope is that, if we are faithful to follow the Lord in this age, we will reign with Him in that age (Matt. 16:24-27).
Unfortunately, in recent years the false teaching of Amillennialism has gained in popularity among evangelical Christians, confusing many believers regarding the truths of the Lord’s return.
In this edition of the podcast, the last in our series on Amillennialism, we continue to deal with this false teaching. The first half deals with some general points regarding it, and the second goes on to deal directly with the key chapter concerning the Millennium, Revelation 20.

So, in this edition of the podcast we continue to deal with this false teaching, first by considering its origins. Then we go on to consider the question of whether the church today has replaced the Nation of Israel in the working out of God's purpose. Finally, we consider whether the Lord's coming will take place all at once, as the Amillennialists claim.

RECORDING
This edition of the program was recorded on Friday, 20 January 2023 and first published on the Lord’s Day, 22 January 2023.
We can see something of God’s eternal purpose by comparing the first two chapters of the Bible, Genesis 1-2, with the last two chapters, Revelation 21-22. This is because these are the only chapters in the Bible that show us God’s work before the curse came in as a result of the fall in Genesis 3 (Gen. 3:17) and after it has been completely removed with God’s final judgments in Revelation 20 (Rev. 22:3).
The gospel we preach today is the gospel of the kingdom of the heavens. It is this kingdom that deals with all of the opposition to God’s authority so that God can fulfill His ultimate desire, which is to have the New Jerusalem on the earth as the mutual, eternal dwelling place of God and man.

LIVE BROADCAST
Each Saturday morning in Chicago at 9:00 on Radio AM 750, WNDZ.
This edition of the program was pre-recorded on Wednesday, 28 December 2022 and broadcast on Saturday, 31 December 2022.
PLEASE NOTE
This was the final broadcast episode of The Christian Faith Radio Hour, as we did not renew our contract with the station for the new year. However, as the Lord allows, the program will continue as a podcast.
Today when we preach the gospel our goal should not merely be to get people to heaven, but rather, to bring the kingdom of the heavens to the earth. It is when God has His kingdom, His ruling among men, that He can carry out His work of building up the church. In this way He will arrive at His ultimate goal, which is to have the holy city, the New Jerusalem, come down from heaven to the earth as His eternal dwelling place with mankind (Rev. 21:1-3, 10).

God’s desire and intention is to dwell with man on the earth for eternity (Rev.21:2-3), but He cannot yet do that because mankind has joined in Satan’s rebellion against Him.
So, as the believers in Christ we should have a deep realization that when we were saved, we were called out of the fallen, rebellious world-system to follow Christ and live in the reality of the kingdom of the heavens on the earth today. In this way we will bring God’s kingdom to the earth by producing the fruits of the kingdom (Matt. 24:43), and so prepare the way for the Lord’s return.

LIVE BROADCAST
Each Saturday morning in Chicago at 9:00 on Radio AM 750, WNDZ.
This edition of the program was broadcast live on Saturday, 17 December 2022.
The preaching of the gospel in the New Testament begins with the cry, “Repent for the Kingdom of the Heavens!” (Matt. 3:2, 4:17, 10:7). So, we repent and believe in Jesus not only to have our sins forgiven, but for the kingdom; that is, so God can have His kingdom, His ruling, on the earth today.
To really appreciate this, however, we need to have a basic understanding of what the kingdom of the heavens is. So in the first part of this program we consider, What is the kingdom of the heavens? Then in the second part we go on to consider what it means, practically speaking, to live in the reality of the kingdom.

We are called to follow Christ not only by the gospel of the grace (Acts 20:24), but also by the gospel of the kingdom (Matt. 24:14). The gospel of grace causes us to have faith in Jesus Christ and be saved so that we become His believers, which is indeed wonderful. However, we must not only be His believers; we must also become His disciples, His followers, for only then can the Lord have His kingdom on the earth. And for this, we must have the gospel of the kingdom. As the Lord says, it is when this gospel of the kingdom is preached over all the earth that the end will come; praise the Lord!

What will be the fate of those people on the earth who never had the opportunity to hear the gospel and be saved? Will they automatically be damned to hell for eternity?
That is what many Christians seem to believe, but when others hear that, it makes them feel the God of the Bible is not fair, since He just creates people to condemn them to eternal torment.
In reality, however, it is difficult to find a New Testament verse to support this view. So, in this episode we explore how God will deal with those people who never heard the gospel of Jesus Christ

In the first par of this program we again consider how important it is to have a proper view of Genesis 1, namely, that it is a historically accurate account of creation; Jesus said, if we don’t believe what Moses wrote, we won’t believe Him, either (John 5:46-47; cf. John 3:12). But, that does not mean we need to believe the earth is 6,000 years old. That just is not what the Bible teaches.
In the second part we go on to consider how in stark contrast to the effort being made in these days to secularize America, this country has always been a God-fearing nation. One especially vivid example of this George Washington’s 1789 proclamation of a national day of Thanksgiving, which we read in its entirety.

Is the earth really only 6,000 years old? According to Christians today who accept the “Young Earth” theory, that is what the Bible teaches in Genesis 1. However, there is another view of Genesis 1, the "Gap Theory," which tells us that we just don't know, either from Genesis 1 or from the Bible as a whole, when God created “the heavens and the earth.”
So In this episode we explore the “Gap Theory” of Genesis 1, and also why it is so important for us to believe that Genesis 1 gives us a historical and accurate account of the creation of “the heavens and the earth.”

This edition of the program was broadcast live on Saturday, 12 November.
Last week we stressed how important it is for believers to be in the Bible, but this week we want to stress how important it is even for those who are not Christians to read it. So first we deal with some of the basic reasons people have for not reading the Bible; then we consider what some leading Americans have said about the importance of the Bible to our country. Finally, we consider some ways those who are new to the Bible may begin to read it, for example, by starting with Proverbs, or with Psalm 23.

What is the way to follow Jesus today? If we really desire to know the answer to this question, we must listen to what He says about following Him. When we do, we will see that it is not so much a matter of doing, but of dying (cf. John 12:24-26; Matt. 16:24-26); that is, of allowing Him to bring us to the same experience of the cross that He went through, so that we may serve Him in resurrection and eventually enter into glory with Him.

Jesus told us very specifically, “You must be born again” (John 3:7) . Yet, to many people, even those who call themselves Christians, the concept of the new birth is very mysterious. In this edition of the podcast, therefore, we explain that, according to Jesus, we need to experience the new birth for ourselves if we are to become His followers. Then we go one to explain what this new birth actually is and what are some of its results.

Segment One: The Bible is mysterious because it is a book of life, not merely a book of teaching, history, or morality. What it shows us is that God’s eternal purpose is to impart Himself into as life to bring us into relation with Himself, so that we may become His expression.
Segment Two: Because the Bible is a book of life, it is mysterious, and we need to learn how to come to it in a proper way. In this segment Mark Jordan joins us to share that, while we treasure the black and white words of the Bible, we need to exercise ourselves to see more in the Bible than only what is on the surface. We can do this because now Christ has appeared, showing us that the entire Bible, in both the Old and New Testaments, is really about Himself.

Segment One: Why did Jesus die on the cross? Was it really necessary? Was there no other way for God to save us? And what is the effect of His death as far as our sins are concerned? In this episode of the podcast we consider these questions.
This is a continuation of our look at the “Parable of the Four Bottles,” which we use to illustrate the gospel of Jesus Christ. This is a brief video you can watch via the website below.

Segment One: We talk with Chris Miller, a brother in central Illinois who each October hosts a three-day “Father Son Camp” for about 500 men and their boys. This is a wonderful opportunity for Fathers and sons to spend time together in a healthy environment that encourages boys and young men to mature in a healthy way, so that they can formed to grow up as proper men in the Lord.
Segment Two: We consider the matter of the overcomes in Revelation 2-3, and also the Lord’s parable of the minas in Luke 19. While we appreciate the Lord’s grace, we must also realize that He expects us to gain a profit for Him, and at His return He will call us before Him so that “He may know” what we gained for Him (Luke 19:15).

Elizabeth II was a truly remarkable ruler of Great Britain, and she seems to have been a real believer in Christ as well. Her death should remind us that as the believers, we are destined to reign with Christ for eternity. So, in the first segment we discuss the British Monarch and Elizabeth’s reign with David Hayes.
In the second segment we have a round-table discussion about what it means to reign with Christ.
NOTE: Due to technical problems and a poor connection with one of the brothers, we had to edit out several portions of this segment, so it may seem disjointed at some points. But, I still feel it is a valuable discussion.

As the believers in Christ, we are destined to reign with Him; the death of Queen Elizabeth reminds to us of this wonderful fact.
But, when? We need to ask this question, for the Bible speaks in two places of our reigning with Christ. In Revelation 22:5 it says that we shall reign “forever and ever,” while in Revelation 20:4-6 it says that we shall reign “for a thousand years.” While all of the believers will reign with Christ for eternity, not all will reign with Him during the 1,000 years of His millennial kingdom. In this program we look at some of the portions in the New Testament that speak of this fact.

Part One: Some key points from the parable of the sower in Matthew 13. It shows us that the Lord came forth to sow something of Himself into humanity; that the Lord as life comes into us as a seed; that He is expecting to gain some fruit from what He has put into us; and, on the negative side, how evil and fierce is the enemy’s opposition to the preaching of the gospel.
Part Two: An interview with Mark Jordan and Keith Miller, both of whom are from Goshen, Indiana. Keith is a farmer, who as an expert on soil health, and has practiced “no till” farming for many years. So, we wanted to hear from him about what it takes to keep soil healthy, to see what lessons we can draw from this about having a heart that is healthy before the Lord, so that we may become the “good ground’ for the seed of the word to grow in our being.

In the New Testament only the Gospel of Matthew speaks of “the Kingdom of the Heavens.” To be in the kingdom of the heavens today means we live our lives under the ruling of the heavenly Christ, when Kingdom of the Heavens is hidden. This will prepare us to reign with Christ when Kingdom of the Heavens is openly manifested during His 1,000 year reign on the earth. If we are not faithful, we may end up in the outer darkness during that period. This is illustrated by the parable of the ten virgins (Matt.25:1-13), five of whom were wise and five of whom were foolish. The difference is, some paid the price to gain the extra supply of oil; these went in to the wedding feast. But, some did not gain the extra oil, and as a result, were shut out of the wedding feast. This is a very serious warning to the believers, as the Lord says, we must “Watch therefore!” (Matt.25:13).

As the believers in Christ, we can and should have the assurance of our eternal salvation; praise the Lord for that! However, we cannot have the assurance we will reign with Christ during the Millennium; even the Apostle Paul was not assured of that (1 Cor. 9:24-10:5).
In fact, we will not know whether that 1,000 years will be a time of reward or discipline for us until we appear before the judgment seat of Christ, where we will be rewarded according to our works after we were saved (2 Cor. 5:10).

Segment 1: To enter into the experience of transformation we need to have some basic concepts about this matter. First, as we’ve covered in previous programs, to be transformed means that Christ Himself is being formed in our being (2 Cor. 3:18, Gal. 4:19). Second, we have to realize that transformation has nothing to do with sin. That is, even if we’d never sinned, we would still need to be transformed so that God could bring us into relationship with Himself.
Segment 2: Another crucial concept is to understand that man is a three-part being. The false teaching that the spirit and the soul are the same thing comes from Plato, not come from the Bible. This is important, because we need to understand that we are regenerated in our spirit (John 3:6), but we are transformed in our soul (Rom. 12:2).
Segment 3: A discussion with Peter Dong on the way or transformation, and also how we can enter into transformation.

Segment 1: Our justification in Christ is the foundation for our Christian life, so if we are to live the Christian life as God desires, we need to have a proper understanding of how God justifies us. That is, he does not make us righteous in ourselves; rather, He transfers us into Christ, so that Christ Himself becomes our righteousness. Also, we consider further some examples of transformation, both from nature and from the Bible.
Segment 2: A further consideration of the Greek word for “transformation,” which is metamorphoō, and also of its root word, morphoō. The later in its noun form is only used of Christ Himself, but as a verb it is used in regards to the believers, in Galatians 4:19, when Paul states that “My little children, for whom I labor in birth again until Christ is formed in you.” This is “transformation,” for Christ to be formed in the believers; it was the apostle’s burden, and it should be ours as well (cf. Col. 1:24-29 and Ephesians 3:14-19.
Segment 3: A discussion with Brother Mark Jordon, where he shares on the life of Jacob, who is the outstanding example in the Old Testament of one who was transformed by God’s work in his life.

Segment 1: In the entire New Testament, the best example of transformation is the Apostle Peter. He began as “Simon, Son of John.” But, the very first time the Lord saw him He told him that he would be called “Peter,” which means “a stone” (John 1:42). So, the Lord was really saying to him, “I am going to transform you into a stone for God’s building.” That transformation began with the Father’s revelation to Peter of who Christ really was (Matt. 16:16-18) and all the Lord’s dealings with him that we see in the four Gospels, and continued throughout the book of Acts and in his letters. We see the consummation of Peter’s transformation at the very end of the New Testament, where Peter’s name is on one of the foundations of the New Jerusalem (Rev. 21:14), symbolizing that, just as the Lord said, Peter had indeed become a “stone” for God’s building. But, this experience is not just for Peter; it’s for all of the Lord’s believers, as Peter himself tells us (1 Peter 2:4-5).
Outside of the Bible, nature also provides us with wonderful examples of transformation, in petrified wood and in the process a caterpillar goes through to become a butterfly.
Segment 2: Transformation is one of the six basic steps we pass through to enter fully into the salvation God provides for us. These six steps are: Justification, Regeneration, Sanctification, Transformation, Glorification, and Conformation.
Segment 3: A discussion with Brother Rex Beck on these topics, and also on the New Testament words for “Transformation” and “Transfiguration.”

Segment 1: Jesus is both “inclusive” and “exclusive.” That is, He will receive anyone who comes to Him for salvation and give them the gift of eternal life, regardless of who they are, where they are from, or what kind of person they are (John 6:37, 5:24, 3:16). But, He is also “exclusive,” in the sense that He states, over and over again, that He is the only way of salvation. That is, our eternal destiny depends entirely on our relationship with Him; according to Jesus, there is no other way of salvation (John 8:24, 10:7-9, 14:6).
Segment 2: We continue to consider the matter of transformation. In this episode, we seek to answer the question of, “What Is Transformaton?” We do this in part by looking at how the Greek word for transformation, metamorphoō, is translated, and mistranslated, in the English versions of the New Testament.
Segment 3: A discussion with Brother Joe Pope on these topics.

Segments 1 & 2: The first part of this program reviews, and considers further, what we covered in the previous episode, namely, how did Jesus view the Scripture? And how, during His earthly ministry, did He come to the written word of God, the Jewish Scripture, what we today call the Old Testament?
Segment 3: In the final segment of the program I deal with the first of the attacks upon the Scripture that are unique to our time, namely, the “Young Earth Theory.” This view that the Bible teaches us that the earth and the universe are only about 6,000 years old is promoted by sincere, well-meaning Christians, but nonetheless, it has been used to discredit the Bible in the eyes of countless people over the last century. In fact, the Bible does not tell us the age of the earth or the universe, because there is a gap between Gensis 1:1 and 1:2. This is called the “Gap Theory,” and it is the only theory of Creation that is consistent with the rest of the Bible.

How did Jesus view the Scripture? And how, during His earthly ministry, did He come to the written word of God, the Jewish Scripture, what we today call the Old Testament?
These are very important questions for us to consider, because if we desire to be followers of Christ, we should surely follow Him in regards to how He approached God’s word. I was burdened to share on this topic because, as I mention in the program, when I was a young believer, seeing how Jesus related to the Scriptures greatly uplifted my view of God’s word. I hope it will yours as well.
This is in keeping with our overall theme, as we begin this program, namely, to uplift the believers’ view of the Scripture and thereby encourage them to be in the word in a more serious and consistent way. We plan to continue with this theme for the next several episodes as well.
