Ok so i tried snowskating for the second time.
at this rate i am snowskating one time a year. so far this winter has been pretty warm and without snow so why snowskate when if i wait a day or two the snow will melt and i will be able to just skateboard.
but for some reason this night i felt like just heading into downtown stillwater and filming a snowskate session.
i ended up finding some super sick spots but also, i noticed how since i am a beginner and also everything is slippery, pretty much EVERYTHING is a legit snowskate spot.
enjoy me looking like a total beginner at this craft. snowskating is nothing like skateboarding lol. i have no idea how people are able to do the stuff they do.
look up videos of people snowskating and you can see them like popping frontside flips and stuff and that stuff blows my mind.

its been warm enough to skate outside so i have ventured out to Oakdale Skatepark which is the closst skatepark to my house at the moment.
the ground is smooth there and the quarterpipes are perfect (not shown).
i managed to barely catch on camera a few tricks namely a kickflip crook even though i tried for about an hour to do a kickflip FRONT CROOK for you guys that did not materialize.
i then drove a little down the road to a new spot which is a waxed ledge that someone rub bricked and also laquered. it slides amazing. i will have to return to that spot to film something legitamate. i am thinking maybe a 360 noseslide even though i have never done one of those before.

Greetings skatehive community! I bring you the raw footage of @xvlad and i's sessions in Denver this year. The day i arrived in denver I met vlad at a DIY spot he found in a Denver neighborhood while his friends were getting lunch. it was a basketball court with two slappy curbs. a great warm up spot.
We proceeded to explore denver and found a bunch of spots that have been added to the skatehive spotbook.
denver spots found
I spent two nights in denver and then got on an airplane to L.A. to help my friend move. I skated a couple of times. I went to a really nice art museum and an architecture tour with my friend.
Los Angeles spots
I helped my friend move all of his stuff back to the midwest in a uhaul.
I found some spots along the way.
Spots found along the way home (Iowa, Kansas, and Kansas City Missouri)
its possible I have added too many photos to this post. lets hope this works.
You can check the spot book http://www.skatehive.app/map to see the spots.
Here you can see the edit that vlad made and airdropped to me before I left denver.
here are some other photos from eth denver and my trip

what up skate hivers
i decided i have enough stuff to make a skatehive post, so im writing this using our own front end site, skatehive.app.
@gnarip12345 have you seen this website yet?
www.skatehive.app
either way, posting on skatehive is sort of like this:
| backtail on a bank to ledge spot | little line at a manny to rock spot | | --- | --- | | | | | skater: Zack G Goulet | skater: Zack G Goulet | | filmer: Shane Brown | filmer: Shane Brown |
these are leaks from my new part. shanes camera is awesome. im excited to see what its gonna look like. i for sure am going to have a hand in editing the part. hes cool like that. the best part ive made was the one he filmed where i chose the tonetta song.
im actually well on my way to a full part i have about 9-10 clips since ive been filming with him the last couple months + recovering from that knee injury. all of the clips are in winter though. i used to hate skating in the winter but it actually reminds me of when i used to skate in cary with @gnarip12345 and paul stacey. those were some super core skate days. i love how skating in the winter reminds me of those days so im trying to film most of my part in the winter to show that kind of dedication we used to have. plus i like exersizing in the winter it feels good.
that back tail up there is where i injured my knee. i went to see a doctor actually and it was free because i denyed x rays but he did some tests on the knee by moving it and nothing is torn so im super happy about that and its just a sprained posterior cruciate ligament.
hm what else. i guess the only other thing i can think of to blog about is the little updates i did on skatehive.app. i fee like the page needs a strong title. the other tabs and stuff at the top could be organized better. since the whole site is basically javascript its really hard to re-arrange stuff. a lot of it does not make sense to me how to move it around and how its arranged currently. im sure @xvlad knows it like the back of his hand. but it was fun staying up till 2 in the morning on new years eve trying to figure it out.
not skate realted but i might have found a new studio building. one of my old art school teachers has a studio there and maybe she knows who i can talk to to get one there. its in minneapolis,. i would prefer saint paul but maybe minneapolis is fine.
my last night in chicago i stayed at paul staceys house and he was reading a book called atomic habits. here were a couple cool diagrams from that
happy new years
my new years resolution is to mix this brazilian bovince collegen with my coffee every day.
its hard to find collagen that is glyphosate free but this product sources it from Brazil and has the lowest level of glyphosate and heavy metals.
https://3speak.tv/watch?v=web-gnar/nhwljwny
Before I left Chicago i wanted to get out and skate with my friends. Perdue came through and we got out and skated. it was sunny and warm and we were able to wear tee shirts.
I had a new board I had to get a little used to but we put in some solid work and each got a decent line.
https://3speak.tv/watch?v=web-gnar/gmhjrzyh
mah knee
i need money for mah Knee!
lol
just a little rhyme i thought of.
i really dont though. my kneee is seeming to heal.
the only time it hurt was when i jumped down the doublet set.
im skating an old board so i have to be careful to skate within my abilities. i cant try super hard stuff that i need to rely on my board to follow my feet.
never feebled that red curb thing before.
it was fun.
its hard to get speed for it since im goofy

testing the new @threespeak / skatehive integration.
new frontiers in the skatehive project.
doing things we never thought possible.
it was only a year ago we were on discord discussing how cool it would be to have a website hive frontend we could utilize 3speak with.
as i type this post, i see this on my screen:
the video is short and like the title suggests i am recovering from an injury and it is not fun to be a wimp on the skateboard again.
i damamged my knee and its taking forever to heal. i cant bend it all the way when i crouch down. the thought of never skating again is terrifying.
maybe that is why i made my name web-gnar. maybe after i can never skate again, i help build things with the internet and that becomes my gnar.
please excuse @tpc for his 5050 grind.
here are some photos my uncle joe sent me. most of them are of him with me in california when i was 1 or 2 it looks like.
i like the image uploading along with the 3speak video. skatehive.app can EASILY become the best hive blockchain front end. better than peakD or ecency. since we are going to open source it, it will be empowering to the hive community and i hope they see that. thanks @ali-h we at skatehive have been looking for a dev who cares about this project and im happy that i found you from my Quest For Stoken project. @xvlad getting this website started was nothing short of legendary on your part and i look forward to building with you in the future and you keep me motivated to learn code i just want to be able to impress you with something.
i like how dragging in a new image drops it at the end of the post. something peakD still never got right, i would drag in images there and they would be all out of order.
maybe this gif could be used for posts that are in the $20 range..
thats me and its crazy my parents still have that couch. its in their garage and i will probably go out there and smoke on it soon.
my uncle joe sent me these photos and its good to have a place to store them. i like to scroll back years on my hive blog for a trip down memory lane. i hope our ipfs uploads never get deleted. will they eventually get deleted ? @xvlad? this potentially could be a bummer.
the next thing we need to build is a notifications system for mentions and the ability to reply to comments.

After golfing, @gnarip12345 and I decided to check out Palatine skatepark nearby.
All the ramps were metal and the park was designed weird.
That happens a lot in America, towns will build skateparks to satisfy the demand of the youth but since they know little to nothing about what makes a skatepark have good flow, the park ends up being a complete waste of money.
Thus was the case with Palatine Skatepark, we hate to see it.
Pretty much every little town in the chicagoland area has a small skatepark but they all suck. this is a problem, which will most likely not get fixed soon.
So we decided to huck it off the deck of the quarterpipe you know?
The last two tricks of this edit are from when I was in minnesota skating a really dope DIY spot made in an old ice hockey rink.
The ground there is smoother than most skateparks, so the city knows how to pour smooth cement, they just choose not to for skateparks because, well, they just dont really care that much about skateboarders and their budget is usually lower than it should be, especailly when skateboarding is the most popular sport to watch in the Olympics

in this edition of WEB GNAR i bring to you two sessions fused into one edit.
due to the nature of preparing for the art fair, i have not been able to dedicate much time to skating.
I showed up random at @gnarip12345's house and woke him up to see if he wanted to skate the crusty park by his house.
he didnt, so i did.
i think if we went around and got signatures we could get this park an upgrade.
i was talking to the city worker who offered to sweep the whole park for me with his leaf blower. he said skatepark companies are always hitting up the city of lakemoor to upgrade it, but the city thinks that noone uses the park and that it would be a waste of money.
It would be sweet to get a fancy new park there, and would bring people to lakemoor and they would spend money at lunch spots in that town.
I have included no music in this edit becuase I couldnt decide on anything. i got the gnars dao playlist to play in the skatehive discord server but you have to turn down the volume manually on the side when you right click the pancake thing.

Anna Marie Island is an island on the gulf side of florida and I went there for a family vacation.
Our Air bnb had a golf cart I used to travel to the skatepark everyday to make this edit.
The skatepark on the island was awesome and when I saw it when I was driving past I was super stoked and knew a skatehive edit was coming.
I skated alone pretty much every time I was there, and used a tripod to film all of of the clips.
The palm trees always make for great footage especially when you are from the midwest and there are no palm trees. It makes your footage look like a california skate video.
Florida is cool. I was saying that it is like redneck california. The California of the south. It would be sweet to have an excuse to move there.
The first 3 clips are from Bradenton Skatepark where I met some local rippers and they told me to move to florida.
Kris Markovich lives there and he skates a park called Campbell Park alot. I checked out cambell park but I didnt bring my board because I was sore that day.
I took some photos of the park though.

I flew out to ETH Denver to help out with the GNARS event.
It was a really cool experience. I met @xvlad there, who was the one who invited me to join the event.
I was brought on to do live painting at the Tetra Lounge.
I wanted to exhibit Quest For Stoken, my video game that @gnars Dao funded the creative efforts of.

Winter is long.
Without a place to skate winter is longer.
We seek refuge inside a food distribution warehouse.
This involves stacking boxes of junk food, to distribute to the people of the Chicagoland area.
It is not rewarding work.
It pays the owner of the company a lot.
He is a cool dude though.
He lets us skate in the warehouse sometimes.
We got in trouble after this session.
The HR guy came out and yelled at us, and then emailed the owner.
Oh well.
The high impact cement in the warehouse is not that fun to fall on.
Falling is never too much fun.
Skating in the warehouse is almost like a street spot because of ther fear of getting in trouble.
Instead of getting kicked out of the spot, you just get fired.
https://3speak.tv/watch?v=web-gnar/xtiaufyt
the sun as shining,
it was saturday,
and the boys hit me up for a clemente session.
this was good because i needed to skate.
when the boys are there i always try harder to send it.
@hazylogic knows how to produce me.
@jaydeemedia was the organizer of the event.
https://3speak.tv/watch?v=web-gnar/zmfnrfxe
Having not seen the sun in months it was a blessing to have a 50 degree day to go outside and skate.
@hazylogic put together a deerfield session and @jaydeemedia met up with us at the park.
There were quite a few people there and the park is nice.
I did some basic tricks to get back into the groove of things.
I look forward to going back to Deerfield skatepark to up the ante.
https://3speak.tv/watch?v=web-gnar/rallwhnz
We got in the car and we drove.
We drove north to a city called Milwaukee.
There, we spotted a giant warehouse.
This old warehouse housed a giant skatepark.
We will be returning to this warehouse to shred it harder.
This was my first time here.
@gnarip12345 used to skate the mini ramp here with his OG board sponsor team.
The micro ramp I should say.
We skated for over 3 hours.
Our legs were sore the next day as they should be.
This is blockchain skating.
Epsom salt does the body good.
https://3speak.tv/watch?v=web-gnar/qwaofqqh
As winter surges, the ability to skate outside becomes scarce.
Web-gnar finds a psudo skate-sanctum in the warehouse of his part time job.
A food distribution warehouse, where his job consists of stacking cases of beverages and snack foods onto wood pallets to be loaded into box trucks and delivered to vendors of the Chicagoland area.
Like a game of tetris, boxes must be stacked to omit as much empty space as possible.
This can lead to interesting arrangements of boxes.
Unlike Tetris, when you complete a layer of boxes flawlessly, that layer does not dissapear.
My work here at Norman distribution will be remembered forever.
https://3speak.tv/watch?v=web-gnar/txtfbpkh
A legendary session went down.
The OG Gnar Team was called forth to assemble, and forge an impromptu @skatehive edit.
Once upon a time, a long time ago, back in 2001, three men decided to create a skate crew.
They did not know of a name to call themselves.
Until they heard a voice....
The voice said,
"Gnar"
And they listened.
Hence, the GNAR TEAM was born!
Jon Tokarz, Paul Stacey, and Zack Goulet.
@gnarip12345, (no hive username as of yet), @web-gnar
Thats why I used the word gnar in all my names and stuff since liek 2001.
Its puely a coincidence that we are now working with a DAO called @gnars.
Its totally stokenomical!
We were shooting photos of my art but the session that went down was super fun!
https://3speak.tv/watch?v=web-gnar/cvhyukdv
Part 2 of the familia sessions with @tpc.
it snowed a good 7 inches the day before I headed back to chicago so i went downtown minneapolis for a snowskate session.
since im the only one who has a snowskate, i did the session by myself.
it was super fun.
the pedestrians who were shoveling the sidewalks and such, were very hyped to see me out there snowskating.
it gave me a good workout and i felt amazing afterwards like i used to after sledding as a kid.
https://3speak.tv/watch?v=web-gnar/rsblcwpn
Well, we're back, we're back at the Familia HQ.
While the edit might be quick it has some highlights.
I positioned the red guard rail after the handrail and had a fun time sliding down both lol.
featured in the edit are @tpc, @bigjayanimay, and @demonmemon.
lol, they all have Hive accounts but none of them use thier Hive accounts becuase its too difficult.
This is why we need to make @stoken and the @skatehive app front end!
In time, we will see our vision through.
Until then, keep shredding mates!

I had a really bad weekend but I did some skateboarding and it was fun.

Zack seeks redemption after his injury on the curb.
uppn whoch several tricks were landed.
mostly grinds, and a sloppy kickflip front board to get the homie's back.
fall is here
and there is always time for a final hurra at clemente
some dudes brought a pool quarterpipe
the sound of that 5-0 is from the rail slapping the board.
POW!

i did some work on this curb outside my studio.
i rub bricked it.
i bondoed it.
and i waxed the living daylights out of it.
this ended up being to my disadvantage.
i got bodied.
i forgot how much you can get hurt skating.
so i bought a wrist guard.
i hope to not use the wrist guard forever.
but for now, this old man needs his wrists.
feebles for days.
and a bonus clip from the summer when i got down on a hubba with mike anderson and louie lopez.
quest for stoken is strong with this one.
and with that,
i bid you good day.

gnar team was the name we chose when we couldn't decide on a crew name in high school.
paul stacey, jon tokarz, and zack goulet were the gnar team.
since jon and i are working on a video game we decided to skate.
since paul stacey loves to golf we actually golfed earlier in the day before the session.
this edit took 3 sessions of skating actually.
the first session i forgot my board so i had to use jons.
Cary is the town we grew up in.
the skatepark you see us skating was not built until we moved away.
the blind guy smoking on the thumbnail is @minedovermatter, he actually petitioned the city to build the park.
the plans he submitted for the skatepark were not honored by the city and instead a bunhc of pre-fab ramps were installed.
the ground is shit but we made it happen. the ledges are actually pretty sick here i just wish it had new ground.

Sessions at Clemente followed up by a Grant Park Loop session.
@jaydeemedia busting out the VX
Sanchez goes off!
Tom Fry seasons his fakie flip with a karate kick.
Scardina pops off at the skatestopped manny pad.
Goulet sends on a big front crook, produced by @hazylogic and follows it up with a big fat front 5-0.
Paul Stacey hip session is the cherry on top.

greetings!
i recieved word that there is a new skatepark in Saint Paul MN.
it is located at GATEWAY park.
I went to check it out and ended up spending 3 days working on this edit.
https://3speak.tv/watch?v=web-gnar/ffzbubpn
This edit is a compilation of clips gathered from the past week or so.
I skated Mchenry Skatepark with the blind homie @minedovermatter and he filmed my clips by following the sound of my board with his ears.
This set up at clemente has been pretty fun. i almost back lipped the whole thing.
the last session at clemente was so freaking lit but nothing was filmed.
While i was skating mchenry skatepark, the boys were shredding clemente and @lounge-daddi was visitng from california enough to back hurricane the flatbar.
They also saw THE SPITS punk rock band that night which is the soundtrack to the edit.
the ender of this edit is my entry for this weeks cash for tricks.

What up SKATEHIVE? This edit is a compilation of 3 different skate sessions.
Street skating a 5 stair handrail and gap spot.
A solo session at a plastic bench spot near my studio.
A skatepark session at Steve Nesser's skatepark with Christian Hosoi!

Chicago summers call for loop sessions.
we found a crusty spot at a fire station with some big fat round bars.
They were pretty high but managed to get a couple tricks on them.
We then found a waxed ledge in the back of a building's parking garage. We added some wax and managed to get out of there with a few clips.
We wound up at the post office and ran into the Snack crew.
CJ was filming a line and i poached a clip of him doing a fakie noseslide 270.
I also met a dude named Vince Guzaldo and I told him about skatehive and entered his switch back tail kickflip into the CashForTricks contest as the filmer of the clip.
https://3speak.tv/watch?v=web-gnar/swziakhz
i like skating in the heat because you dont have to warm your muscles up.
i went to wilson skatepark alone and some of the local kids helped me film this edit.
i really struggled with the backside tailslide for some reason.
maybe it was because i havent pumped large banks in a while.
i went back to wilson like a week later to re-film the back tail and there were too many people there, but i met a guy who has a stange camera like the one that @howweroll uses.
it is called a INSTA360 and it captures a spherical 360 degree image that you can then direct, with your phone, which parts of it you want to include.
I had some holographic skatehive stickers made and they arrived in the mail and they look great!
please DM me on discord with your mailing address if you are part of the skatehive community and i will send you some!!

ithaca skatepark is old
it has two sections, the old one and the one that was built 4 years ago.
i like the old section.
it was from a generation where the people who built it,
did not normally build skateparks (a general construction company of some kind)
the people who designed it might have not even been a skatepark design firm.
it could have just been some mom in the local neighborhood.
new skateparks struggle with being more generic as they just pump them out to every community center they can, which is awesome becuase now there are way more skateparks.
i spent a few days in ithaca and went to make this edit one day. it required setting up the camera in many different locations to make it look like a continuous run through the park.
https://3speak.tv/watch?v=web-gnar/hfvsetgy
I wanted to make a skatehive edit here
but no one wanted to skate.
So i went there anyway and was going to set up my phone on a tripod.
to my delight, TJ Moran was there was Alan.
I had not seen him in many years and i was stoked.
He is the one who does the tailslide kickflip out.
I felt bad making him film me so I tried to make work effeciently.
I got most of my clips first try, like that frontside flip.

rumor had it there was some kind of skatepark in northeast minneapolis at a place called juxtaposition arts.
no one in the crew had ever been there.
in pictures, it looked pretty fun.
the word on the street though, was that it was built way too small.
upon arriving, this turned out to be true.
the park was ALMOST unskateable, it was so cramped.
there was no way for more than one person to skate here at a time.
when it got dark we left and went to elliot, where i tried to front blunt shuv a ledge for about an hour and got a kickflip noseslide on this ledge instead.
you win some you lose some.
thanks @tpc for the sessions.
stay primal skatehive.
web-gnar- out!

Illinois residents...did you get $400 from facebook? you can thank @wavyid for his troubles in getting you that! he fronted the lawsuit that got you that cash. he fought for you illinois residents, who's biometric data was used by facebook, which is illegal in illinois... without explicit consent.
like robin hood, he had to stand strong against facebook's team of lawyers and lay down the hand of justice to zuckerburg and his evil army.
This winter we collaborated on some paintings and attempted to film a documentary of our process. it's not easy collaborating... and he was goin thru some shit lol...but it was mostly fun, and i learned a lot from him... he reminded me about things i used to think about painting... and helped me revist some crucial fundamentals.
six episodes i edited followed by the 3 completed paintings photogrphed by jim prinz

What up skatehive,
Ok so this is the final video. Sorry it took so long.
My buddy Khutso does not like to give up creative control in any way. Maybe a bit of what they call a control freak.
That being said I am glad we put in the extra hours to make our parts better.
He offered to edit my part but I had difficulties getting the footage off my computer and onto his phone.
With 8 days left of the final cut pro trial we managed to premier the video on the projector in the studio.
Cold chicago winters with nowhere to skate caused for this video to be made.
Turning the studio into a skatepark was something no one thought was possible.
The sessions had thier ups and downs. A feeling a bit like skating inside a large prison cell, we managed to conjure up some interesting obstacles.
Khutso has the first part, and his edit was to a Sun Ra song. His footage is grainy like a distant memory because every one of his clips was texted to him from phone to phone and then edited in iMovie on his phone.
My part is second and the ender (since there are only two people in the video) and I skate to Neat Neat Neat by the Damned which was a track recommended to me by a blind man.
I was originally going to use a white zombie song but it ended up sounding a little too industrial.
A couple clips that I had to remove from my part were a variel heelflip, tre flip, and hardflip, off the kicker ramp. I had to do this because the clips looked like shit because of how i was dressed.

We drove about an hour north of Chicago to this guy's space he had ramps in.
We had to walk though an amazon return reseller to get in.
It was a nice little upgrade from skating inside my art studio.
I was sore before the session from skating the night prior.
But I got a front feeble on film which is a rare one for me.
Scardeens got a nice kickflip nosegrind.... I think he was trying kickflip crooks.
A nice little training facility in the deserted chicagoland area.
We need more basketball clips.
The song was selected by Deens. Yes i know it was used in brian hermans part.
This is just a skate update, skatehivers. stay gold. stay stoked.
Proof of stoke 2 part is done just waiting to release it when my homie is finished editing his part.

This is a visual analysis of my blood, back in 2016. I wanted to see the quality of my blood, and ended up cleaning up my diet for two whole months, following a "blood type diet" which, is controversial, but was the only time i was able to remove the kind-of dark circles under my eyes.
What I did was avoid bread really. I only ate meat and veggies. I never ended up going back in to check the quality of my blood after doing the diet. That would have been nice to see.
I am thankful there are services like this available to the public.
I hope by sharing this video, that you find it useful, entertaining, or interesting.
I am archiving this on the blockchain due to my youtube channel being sensored.

the boys are back (the TPC squad that is)
https://rollinjs.blogspot.com/
well, some of them anyway ;)
stay sending
lfg
45 seconds of the notable moments from two friday nights
highlights include:
back noseblunt
front nosegrind
backside flip
crooked grind
fakie pop shuv
...
some of the clips almost look black and white. not sure why that was. probably because the on-cam light was dead.
i love making skate edits.
the next skate edit will either be.... a snowskate edit... or proof of stoke 2
cheers

This 13 minute edit was created in summer of 2020. I was supposed to premier this video with Jake Desantis's SEARS video:
https://www.trabajandoskate.com/blogs/traba-itinerary/sears-full-length-by-jacob-desantis
But I updated my Mac operating system and the pirated version of final cut that I had stopped working. The video was stuck on the external hard drive and now, two years later, I downloaded the trial version of Final Cut Pro X (which i should have done back in the day but was too stupid to think to do so) and it let me update the library and export the video!
I thought this edit was lost forever.
This video is basically me testing out my new TRV900, using longs lens filming techniques to poach people skating who were un-aware that I was filming.
All of the footage was shot in chicago, the beginnning indoor part was House of Vans Chicago.
Well before the covid pandemic got too nuts because as you can see there was free pizza and beer.
Anyways, the edit is kinda nutty but I hope you guys find it somewhat entertaining.

Filmed on a TRV-900 during the second week of January, Khutso and Zack set out to send.
With nowhere to skate indoors in Chicago, Zack's studio becomes the street spot.
Complete with tabletop ollies, marble kicker ramps, all in a 600 sq foot cell.
This video had to be removed from instagram because Khutso got mad at Zack for using the song.
The song is called Punishment by Jeff and the Brotherhood.
Khutso bought the lead singer's guitar amp from him years ago, off instagram.
Khutso's girlfriend dated that singer once upon a time.
So Khutso threatened to never skate with zack again if zack did not remove the "proof of stoke" from instagram.
So as anoyying as that is, @web-gnar has chosen the blockchain to exhibit this edit, as it could be the last edit for quite some time.
I hope you enjoy.
