I started my trekking in Kastala village at a dam on the north side of the village. I crossed a bamboo bridge over the river and walked through farms and small paths in the rice fields. I saw some people working in the rice fields, plowing and planting rice. On the way, I passed plants like passion fruit and many kinds of trees. After walking for about one and a half hours, I enjoyed the nice view of the rice fields, and far away, I could see coconut trees. It was a beautiful and peaceful walk.

It was a surprise. I just came home from work in different town called Denpasar for about a month. I have not seen my son for a month.Then when I came home, I picked up my son from school. I was waiting for him outside the school.

Today morning at 8 (the day this post is written on 12/24/2023), I visited Gondol Beach in North Bali with my wife, kids, niece, and nephew. Located in Gondol Village, just a ten-minute drive from my in-laws' place, the beach promised a bright day despite the scorching sun.

Not really excited about this day on the beach, but eager to fulfill our promise to the kids for a trip to North Bali, I endured the heat and arrived at Gondol Beach. It surprisingly resembled my visit three years ago during the quieter times of the Covid-19 outbreak. A new pavement along the shore allowed people to stroll and appreciate the beauty of Gondol Hill and the distant hills.
The kids, and my wife eagerly plunged into the cool, clear water, enjoying the refreshing escape from the heat. We spent about half an hour playing in the water while savoring the beautiful view and the cool atmosphere around the beach.

After our water adventure, we explored more of the beach by walking along the pavement. We observed boats parked by the beach, likely belonging to fishermen who would set out in the evening for their catch. Further along, we noticed structures on the water, presumably fish farms.

Continuing our walk, we observed volcanic rocks nearby until we reached the edge of the pavement after about 15 minutes. Beyond that point, volcanic rocks made it challenging to proceed, but we managed to get closer to Gondol Hill.

Deciding to head back, we gathered the kids, including my daughter who preferred sitting by the beach all the time during our visit and looking at her phone. She did not join getting into the water because according to her "it's too hot."

It was a bright day when I went to Tegenungan Waterfall. The waterfall is located in Kemenuh Village, Gianyar Regency, Bali. A long time ago (about 15 years ago), when this 15-meter-high waterfall attraction opened, there were no shops, restaurants, or parking areas nearby. Today, there are essential facilities such as parking, toilets, and even resting areas for drivers who bring their clients to visit this waterfall.

After purchasing the tickets for 20,000 Rupiah each, my clients and I walked along the road to the ticket checkpoint. We then continued through narrow paths, encountering souvenir stalls and small cafes selling coffee or refreshing drinks—ideal for those who have just returned from the waterfall.
There are approximately 300 steps leading down to the river where the waterfall is situated. The climb back up involves the same 300 steps, and understandably, people may feel fatigued and thirsty during the ascent.
We walked past all the shops until we arrived at the end of the road. From there, we could see the waterfall in the distance, nestled down in the river. It was already a beautiful view from this vantage point. However, to get closer to the waterfall, we had to descend the 300 steps and admire the waterfall from there.
There were already many people down at the waterfall, so there was no reason to linger at this viewpoint. So, we decided to go down to the waterfall.
Along the steps, there were plenty of things to see and do. For example, there were spots to take photos and other viewpoints offering unique perspectives.
As we walked down the steps, I noticed a large restaurant or day club situated beyond the waterfall, overlooking the stunning view. It featured a swimming pool, providing visitors the opportunity to relax and order drinks from the restaurant's bar while enjoying the picturesque scenery of the waterfall.

We just continued our walk through the stairs, arriving on a path by the river. It was an easy walk because the path is concrete. What surprised me was that there was an ice cream shop just by the river. My clients offered to buy ice cream, but I politely refused the offer, jokingly saying I was already sweet.

Then, we walked along the river, getting closer to the waterfall. We saw people playing in the water, taking photos, walking, and enjoying the panorama.
Some individuals ventured into the water to get closer to the waterfall, while others stayed on the side, taking photos with the waterfall as a scenic backdrop.
A spider also enjoyed the view of the waterfall, I guess.

There was another set of stairs leading to the top of the waterfall, on the other side of the river, offering a different viewpoint for taking photos. However, my clients and I decided not to go up the stairs, as we felt that capturing photos from our current vantage point was sufficient.
The climb back up presented a challenge due to exhaustion and the heat on this very bright day. Despite the physical effort, the heat, and the challenging climb, we found our visit to be worthwhile. The bright day and the beautiful waterfall made our walk worth it.

Hi everyone, I'd like to share about the game Gods Unchained that I am playing.
I only play on the death goddess, Malissus, card. Few months ago or so, I played different kind of card decks, but then since I did not have budget to buy many cards (good cards), then I only focus on Malissus card. In fact, I did not spent a dime playing this game.
Every time, I reached a new game level, the game gifted me with a deck of cards. Mostly I got common, and rare cards. Sometimes, epic cards. Every 25 level raise, I got legendary cards.
At the time I wrote this post, I have reached level 407.
The cards that I got from the game prize were mostly cards of plain quality. I need to "forge" those cards before I could sell them in market. Usually I trade some of the cards to obtain better quality cards. So far I have managed to get decent cards to play, although I can only max my level to level 8 in term of difficulty level.

My cards deck only have win rate of 48.9%. I know I can tweak it further, but it means that I have to remove my cheap diamond cards. So, I'll keep it just like that because I don't want to loose the diamond cards as it earns me more fragment to get gods token.

A few days earlier, Pani, was proposed by the young man who become her husband. Just as the tradition goes, she was taken to the house of the groom. She is now part of her husband family.
She had not had her teeth filed yet by her own family, so she joined the ceremony with her husband family. She with her husband, and other husband relatives had their teeth filed on the same day on the same ceremony.
There were two ceremonies that took place that day. After the teeth filing was the wedding ceremony.
When the ceremony was finished that day, Pani went home to say to their parents and little brother. The little brother did not understand why she had to leave again.

Hello everyone, all Hiveans, I'd like to share a unique traditional music performance in my town. It's a fight or duel betwen two groups of traditional music players playing musical instrument called Jegog.
Jegog is a xylophone made of bamboo. It's not any type of bamboo, but a special kind called petung because of its big size. The bigger the bamboo is better since it makes better and louder sound.
There are two groups ready to fight that evening in the main temple yard of my town. Each group consisted of about ten musicians.
At the beginning of the performance, each of the musicians group played a melody called Taruntungan. This melody is supposed to be a gratitude music for the spectators and music appreciators of this line of music.
The spectators, who sit cross-legged on the floor watching the performance, clapped their hands. I reckoned there were ore that a hundred people watching this performance.
First known in 1912 in a village called Sebual (West Bali) jegog mebarung or jegog duel is performed during a celebration, wedding, or great harvest. In this occasion, the show was for the anniversary of the town where I live.
And then the duel began. The jegog set was placed close to each other between the two groups of musician. One group started to play followed by the other group. They played different melody, but because of the loud sound it was hard to distinguish which melody come from which group.
That is actually the main idea. Each group tried to dominate the other group. That who dominate would be the winner.
There was no prize for the winner, but high appreciation from the spectators for both group for such an incredible performance.

There were more then a hundred people gathered in front of the stage in the town hall in Negara. It was 4 PM when I walked entering the town center. I could not get to the front to watch the Balaganjur competition today. (Balaganjur is an ensemble or group of Balinese traditional music players). The competition today was on junior high school level. All the junior high schools in my town took part in the competition.
As I got into the town hall, there were already so many people, mostly the youngsters.
The first contestant appeared at the stage. A group of young music players marched from behind stage. They wore contemporary traditional Balinse costume. The music started. All the spectators cheered.
I was not sure how many groups of participants who competed. I did not watch until the end. But the competition run from 4 PM to 9 PM. And it was raining as well. What amazed me that those youngsters and the spectators did not care much about the rain. Most of them still stay in the rain to watch the music players as they performed their best skill.
You could see how crowded it was.
The music players did not just play music. They also performed some simple dance movement, as well as various formation. This would become the jury's attention in determining the contestant performance.
There were more than 15 contestants performing. Each of the contestant had their own supporters among the crowded. These supporters turned very excited when their team performed on the stage.
I am so proud with those youngsters who performed their best in the competition. I also proud watching their supporters. They were still very excited in learning and conserving our local art and culture.

We could probably say that it's human nature to feel happy when we can explore new places. I myself enjoy going on cycling trips to the places I have never been cycled before.
I live not far from the countryside. So, that makes it possible to explore many beautiful places that I have never been to. I don't usually feel tired peddling my bike to new places.
I used to work as a cycling tour guide before the COVID-19. Going cycling for work felt different than cycling by myself for fun. Taking the same route for hundreds of times did feel like a chore after years. My excitement faded going on bicycling trips such as that.
Cycling is a good way to exercise. I find it easier when going cycling while exploring new places preferably the beautiful one like the countryside.

I really like going cycling in the countryside. This would allow me to see the rice farms, mangrove forests, and lots of nice views on the way.
I took my bicycle that I bought about 14 years ago. I haven't used it for a long time because I put it in my home village. So, this was my first time going cycling again after a long time. I did go cycling when I was working as a tour guide because that's part of the job.
The bicycle I used is still in good condition only it was a bit rusty. I was a bit concerned that it might break in the middle of my 8 km long cycling route. Moreover, the weather was not great and it was raining very hard in the middle of cycling. But, to my surprise, the bicycle managed to get me through the journey.
I saw many people riding their bicycles for exercising or just for fun. It could be said it is a popular exercise here. Well, no wonder, because the place has a scenic route. In fact, I began to like the route that I took and thinking I should go more and explore further next time.
In the video, you would see me talking about the condition of the road I was on. On the other part, I took videos of the road, the bridge, and the mangrove forest. I did not get a chance to end the video or vlog, because it was raining heavily.

With uncertainties in tourism business in the place where I live, finally I decide to stay in the home village for a while. I packed my PC, drove early morning through beautiful areas of Bali, and arrived in North Bali after 2.5 hours drive.

Ever since the drop of tourism business in Bali, there is no work opportunities for a lot of people including me. With the free time, I could do many different activities, including morning walk in the rice field near my house. I walked around there, took photos and videos for creating contents.

Our government lately has brought out suggestion for social distancing, which means among others not going to public places, or not attending activities that involve many people. I just decided to go out around my town to see how the people here respond to the corona virus situation or news. I know that local schools are closed, and the moment students study from home. Most of the offices are also closed and their workers work from home. But there are still a lot happening in this town, just like you see in the video.

I went to the mangrove forest in my town. It was only 15 minutes motor bike ride for me. I have been to this place before, years ago. There were so many people there in my previous visit. This time there were only few people there. Join me as I walked through the bridge into the mangrove.

This is a snapshot of my work day. I went on a trip into Jatiluwih village in Bali. Jatiluwih is popular for its beautiful rice terraces and hills. I walked a little bit on the road on the rice terraces to take photo and enjoy the view.
I started the trip in the morning with my clients. We went 2 hour drive to Jatiluwih village. When we arrived there, they went to cycling trip with some local company. I used my time to make this video.
It was in the middle of rice fields, in a small pavilion where I record the video. Later I went for a walk along the road in the rice fields. There are few other clips that I took during the trip as well.
