As individuals, it’s unlikely that we’ll ever want, need or be able to become experts in every subject and masters of every skill. But, in life and work at times you’ll need to draw upon skills and knowledge that are outside of your own field. Being able to build a strong network of trusted people with diverse skills and knowledge and being able to connect with them is key. It will also open your eyes to unique perspectives and challenge your own way of thinking.
But networking can seem intimidating. Particularly where you feel like an imposter, are more introverted, or feel like you have little to offer, but more to gain compared to others.

Each and every one if us is unique. We are different in so many ways. From the things we like to do, eat or even where we like to travel to. Our behaviours, how we respond to different situations, our beliefs, backgrounds, life experiences, what we look like, where we are from, our preferences. Our health, disabilities, fears, worries, hopes and aspirations. The list goes on.
These differences are arguably what makes us most interesting. Life would be incredibly dull if we were all the same. We even may recognise that some of the most interesting people we’ve met are those that are most different to ourselves. We each bring something different to any situation – whether that’s our perspectives, experiences, challenges, knowledge and so on. And we can learn from others who are different from us too.
