It can be a little nuanced and complex to truly understand somatic and shamanic energy work. In this episode I do my best to shed light on a particular session that I was lucky enough to get to do live with a woman at my virtual event, Arise and Awaken this past weekend. It was a magical experience for me and I believe for her as well. Track the energy with me as I work with her sense of wanting to leave her very structured job and commit to her creative self as an artist. Not only did we break her artist self out from a caged heart, but we connected her with a powerful and joyful ancestor that has all the strength and love she may need to access to change her life! I have something special for you this week! I have supported many women over the years who have gone in for various medical procedures from tumor removal to dental work. When we can train the unconscious and conscious mind that everything is Spirit- from the doctors to the tools they use to perform the procedure- we have an incredible advantage of experiencing our surgery as a powerful coming back to our full self rather than a disempowering trauma.

Today I share with you a conversation with my fierce and kind mother, Sue Ann. Sue Ann has been a Restorative Circle Facilitator in Washington State for almost 20 years. She specializes in Victim-Offender mediation in schools, prisons and with youth caught up in the juvenile system.
We have a light chat about whether or not we even have the right to call ourselves teachers or healers, what it’s like to work in the shadows with people every day, “leadership” and how do you even lead in a healthy, non-hierarchical way, and how we heal from our roots. Big stuff, bold stuff, and of course there is laughter, too!

Our subject for today's episode? The sacred art of tattoo. And why am I talking to you about tattooing on a spirituality podcast? Because it is hella spiritual y'all!
Seriously though. It's a powerful way to connect to the deep self and to Spirit. I share my story of recently traveling to Austin, Texas and sitting for two days of tattooing. I had a profound mystical experience. I also received a teaching from my inner guides and intuition that taught me all about the medicine within our trauma responses. Isis visited me and performed a whole sacred ceremony f with the frequency of GOLD. Damn. It was cool. Why do humans get tattoos? Because it brings us closer to ourselves, to our edge and to Spirit!

Women's circles are immensely powerful. I wanted to give you a sneak peak into what it was like at my most recent retreat, Mary Magdalene and The Motherline. When we come together healing can be easy, our intentions are meaningful, and we can rise. There is nothing quite like an intimate circle of women doing their internal work to heal the collective. Sacred ritual, working with the elements, balancing the masculine and feminine within and without. It was nothing short of miraculous and my hope is that, just by tuning into this episode, the magic will reach your heart as well.

Description: I recently led a retreat called, Mary Magdalene and The Motherline. One of the theme's that popped up over the 3.5 days was the connection between belonging and becoming. In this episode I take you through the significance of both in your life and why it is so important to not get too caught up in feeling like you must fit in in your family or community. I know how hard it is to not fit in, as I really haven't for most of my life. But I will say that giving up the shame of that and embracing my weird has been one of the greatest journeys ever.

Today I felt called to share something that has been downloading through me and some of my conversations. It is about understanding an aspect of our collective consciousness that, I believe, by highlighting, we can heal together.
It’s what I am calling, “cutting out the bad.”
For a very long time now, throughout human consciousness (probably since the scientific revolution in the 1600’s) we have lived out the story of cutting out the bad.
Perhaps it originated with the second story of the Bible. The very strong myth of Eve and Adam in the Garden of Eden. Where Eve is tempted by the (bad) serpent, and (wrongfully), eats the (forbidden) fruit, and then tempts Adam to do the same, AND HE DOES, therefore choosing this (bad) thing over what God wanted, which led them both to being banished from the (Good) place, and you know the rest…
My perceived truth around this is, we live the story of cutting away whatwe don’t like about ourselves so that we don’t have to heal, grieve, get intimate, or move through the discomfort of what it would be like to make friends with this aspect of who we are.
The result of cutting away, and cutting away, and cutting away, is what? Where does that leave us?
