Achieving excellence is something that more and more organizations are striving for. High-performance teams have the potential to make a real difference in any business, setting new standards and surpassing expectations. Good teams perform well, meeting deadlines and staying within budget. But great teams are capable of much more - they can challenge their own limits, working together to reach heights of performance never witnessed before. That's why it's essential to uncover what sets apart high-performing teams from just good ones. Are there specific traits that they share? What practices are common in cultures of high achievement? These questions must be answered if we're to build successful, resilient businesses that stand the test of time.
It can be incredibly frustrating to watch a football team with immense potential fail to exceed its limits and reach the playoffs. Why is it that some teams seem to take their average talent and elevate it beyond expectations, while others fall short of achieving greatness? It's not just about acquiring top talent-leaders must have the ability to bring out the best in players and create an environment conducive for success.
As a leader, your role is to foster an environment that motivates others to reach ever-greater heights while also challenging them to take on greater responsibility.
effective strategies that any business can implement in order to reach new heights of success. Here's an overview of the eight key practices for creating a high-performance team culture:
1. Setting a bold vision - Articulate your ambitions with clarity so everyone on the team has a unified focus.
2. Examining current behaviors - Take stock of existing behaviors like firefighting or aimless busywork that could be blocking progress.
3. Specifying desired outcomes - Outline how you want your team to function in accordance with your mission, purpose, objectives & goals. Comparing your present reality to the desired future state will help identify any gaps between where you are now and where you're headed next!
4. Identify all potential roadblocks that could stand in the way of success, such as market needs, stakeholder expectations, environmental requirements, resource availability, budget constrictions, skill deficiencies and personnel issues.
5. Work together with leaders and team members to identify solutions for overcoming these obstacles; prioritize them based on effort vs benefit.
6. Allocate roles and responsibilities to ensure successful completion of required tasks. Agree on activities, intentions and deadlines for each person involved in order to progress forward confidently.
7. Monitor progress closely by validating that commitments are being met - is there anything we haven't thought about? What might be preventing us from generating the desired change?
8. Celebrate all lessons learned along the way! Take time to recognize successes—big or small—as well as areas where you can improve next time around. Reflect on what’s been completed so far and open discussion on how to best move forward together as a unit. Celebrate the new energy and knowledge born out of your collective efforts!

Leaders have an array of approaches they use to foster success amongst their teams. We can break down these styles by either push or pull - two distinct guardrails for effective leadership.
But what is the difference between pushing and pulling? And if pull-based leadership is so successful, why don't all leaders utilize this approach? With this knowledge at hand, you can empower yourself to become an inspiring leader who understands how to cultivate growth within your team.
Welcome to Balance Cubed with your host Coach Joe
On episode 52: We are discussing. “Push versus Pull in Leadership"
Pull leadership is a dynamic and empowering approach to leading teams. It encourages proactivity and momentum growth, while also fostering engagement with its members. Pull leaders create passionate teams that are driven to achieve results that are sustainable in the long-term.
These individuals cultivate inspiring relationships with their employees, helping them to discover more of their talents so they can perform at their optimal level. Pull leaders look beyond just organizational success - they strive for personal development in each individual team member as well. This way, everyone benefits from the hard work and collaboration involved in creating a successful business!
Pull leadership isn’t about pushing people; it’s about creating mutual understanding and inspiring growth together. Pull leadership can be a challenge to execute since results may not come quickly. However, the strategy for sustainable results is always centered around development first and foremost.
The essential characteristics of pull leaders are not solely determined by natural talent - instead success comes from enhancing their skillset. Pull leaders are able to wield influence on both people and goals; they create an inspiring vision that connects the team's mission with its purpose. This helps individuals recognize how valuable their efforts are while understanding the greater impact they have on the collective goal.
5 practical applications of pull leadership and their impact on teams.

Leadership requires a certain degree of humility - not only does it create a supportive atmosphere where mistakes can be used as learning opportunities, but it also helps to build strong relationships between employees and their leaders. Instead of pointing fingers or doling out punishment, humble leaders accept responsibility for their own errors and use them to inspire others.
By taking the time to demonstrate these values instead of just issuing orders from above, you will foster an environment where accountability and humility are valued qualities among all individuals in your organization. This encourages open communication within teams, helping them work together towards common goals without fear of criticism or retribution. Ultimately, leading by example is one of the most powerful ways to nurture trust amongst team members - something that can drastically improve productivity!

What do you think about when you hear about leadership and humility?
You and I have a unique experience every weekend as we walk and discuss the topics of leadership and leadership development. For me it’s a great opportunity to connect at a higher level as we openly discuss books we’ve read, or lessons learned throughout the past week or over the course of an interaction.
As an integral part of being a servant leader, here are my 5 most important aspects of being a servant leader:
Communication: Servant leaders are excellent communicators. They listen carefully to their team and make sure everyone's voice is heard. They strive to create an environment in which everyone feels comfortable expressing their ideas and opinions.
Coaching: Servant leaders strive to support and guide their team. They provide clear direction and feedback and help their team members grow and develop. They strive to create an atmosphere of trust and collaboration.
“The most dangerous leadership myth is that leaders are born—that there is a genetic factor to leadership. This myth asserts that people simply either have certain charismatic qualities or not. That’s nonsense; in fact, the opposite is true. Leaders are made rather than born.” - Warren Bennis

Today is not my best day. I am disheartened by the lack of engagement to my podcast, making me doubt that I have what it takes to create content that resonates with an audience.
I am usually a motivated person who can easily shrug off criticism and negativity. However, this time around, I’m lacking the emotionally energy needed to get the show started. You see, the show hasn't been downloaded as much as I'd hoped - and while it's not the listeners' fault, there's no denying that it's disheartening.
But even in this state of disappointment, I'm pushing through because creating meaningful, actionable, and measurable content was something that I promised myself - and all of you!
The past few months have been a rollercoaster for our podcast show. One moment I'm feeling inspired, the next I'm questioning my ability to inspire and create something meaningful. It's easy to fall into the trap of self-doubt when we don't see immediate results or reach our goals as quickly as we would like.
As a leader, it can be even more difficult because of the added pressure of setting an example and upholding expectations. In these moments, it is important to remember that success doesn't happen overnight - it takes time and effort to achieve anything great! So take a deep breath, give yourself some grace, and keep pushing forward - the results will come eventually!
We always emphasize the importance of science in our show because we believe that a deep understanding of its principles is essential for successful leadership.
Here’s 5 practical applications for overcoming the winter of doubt.
Being present and grounded can help you manage negative thoughts or feelings by targeting your focus on the moment at hand. According to research, grounding techniques typically involve guided sensory activities or breathing exercises to center yourself and achieve peace.
Reconnecting activities are an important way to get back in touch with yourself and enjoy life again - no matter where you're at on your journey. If cooking brings you pleasure, make time for it each day; if exercise helps lift your spirits, hit the gym or take a stroll; if reading's more your style, schedule dedicated reading periods into your routine!
A great tool for promoting self-awareness is journaling - not only does it reduce stress, but also assists in coping with trauma.
Don't be afraid of discomfort - reach out to a mentor or accountability buddy who can guide you back on track!
Above all else, remember to prioritize taking care of yourself - this includes physical health as well as mental, spiritual and social wellbeing – so that you have the energy to lead and support others!
When I'm feeling overwhelmed, I have a great way to refocus my mindset. I set a timer for 5-10 minutes and take stock of my emotions: am I bored, distracted, or curious? It's helpful to label these feelings so that I can determine what is actually going on -- not just what I'm projecting onto the situation.
I've learned from science that humans tend to catastrophize moments and disappointments in life; we often prepare for worst case scenarios by overcomplicating things. As a leader, it's important for me to remember that it's ok not to be perfect. Reflection helps me strive towards being the best version of myself while accepting my imperfections.
Ultimately, this exercise serves as an important reminder that we are all flawed and imperfect humans just trying to be our very best!
Embrace the grind. Enjoy the journey. Keep listening.
On episode #48 “Harnessing the Power of the Right People"
I posted a quote on LinkedIn that received so much attention and positive feedback. And upon reflection, I wouldn’t normally use a quote to bridge the podcast but I think this is so important and worthy of review and deeper discussion.
“Surround yourself with people that push you do and be better. No drama or negativity. Just higher goals and higher motivation. Good times and positive energy. No jealousy or hate. Simply bringing out the absolute best in each other.”
Surround yourself with people that challenge and push you to reach higher goals and strive for greater achievements. Take on the world without the weight of drama or negativity, instead focus on creating a positive atmosphere of growth. There is no room for jealousy or hate here, only collaboration and encouragement so you can bring out the best in each other.
The true power is having connections who fuel your ambitions and urge you to stay consistent rather than giving into complacency.
Having the right people around can also create an atmosphere of positivity and hope, which is especially important during times of crisis. A team that shares a common purpose will be able to come together in difficult moments and work hard with renewed motivation. This sense of unity and purpose helps everyone focus on the collective goal, instead of getting caught up in individual worries or fears.
We all know someone who continuously creates a chaotic environment or is constantly embroiled in drama. Far worse, they cannot help but to try and drag you down with them. An old saying goes, “there are three types of people in this world; those that have taken up the challenge to become the very best version of themselves and are rising above their potential; those who strive each day to reach that potential yet haven’t quite made it there yet; and then those who remain stuck at the bottom attempting to bring others down too.
Having the right people around us is essential in order to reach our highest potential. Mentors, teachers, family members, and trusted friends can be instrumental in pushing us to strive for more than what we initially thought we could achieve. It's important to keep individuals in our social circle who challenge us and bring out the best versions of ourselves.

Overall, leadership coaching is a highly effective way for leaders to improve self-awareness, identify blind spots of personal performance and phase out old habits, improve team dynamics, identify growth opportunities, fine-tune a growth mindset, unlock true potential, perform at their best in any situation and yield repeatable and scalable results.
Leadership coaching can alter the way people think, act, and behave in the workplace. With coaching, we can reframe perspectives to align the individual with the company mission, purpose, culture, and vision.
In researching the topic of leadership and coaching, I came into this article. Authored by, Susan Powers, Founder and CEO of HR Inc. In her article Susan writes…
https://powerupleadership.ca/the-power-of-leadership-coaching-to-change-how-employees-think/
“Reframing is a way to consciously change one’s limiting mindset and beliefs to help support the desired goal, belief, and behavior. Reframing interrupts our unhelpful thought patterns with new interpretations of reality that are more supportive of the desired objectives. It is deciding what meaning to give to an event or experience in order to move into a more positive and resourceful state-of-mind.”
by Susan Power, Founder & CEO of Power HR Inc.
“Leadership Coaching is becoming more commonplace across all job levels because of its tremendous ROI on employee productivity, performance, and its ability to accelerate the development and promotion readiness of emerging leaders. Coaching is no longer considered something only offered at the executive level, but rather is part of a well- designed employee development program. Organizations are now more focused than ever on developing their next generation of leaders, especially as ‘baby boomers’ continue to retire in mass.”
“More and more organizations are investing in coaching to boost employee skills levels as part of their succession planning efforts. Elite athletes have worked with coaches for years using the power of positive psychology and visualization. The same benefits experienced in professional sports can be applied to organizations to improve business performance with leadership coaching.”
As human beings, we are all in a journey of self-improvement. We strive to make the most of learning opportunities and cultivate our growth, yet life can throw us a curveball from time to time.
It's not easy to be devotedly thoughtful when it comes to our own progress and evolution. Most situations do not inherently facilitate such development. Leadership coaching provides a powerful career development experience, helping leaders develop valuable skills that widen the people funnel for growth and expansion. Creating a connection to retention, engagement, productivity, and profitability.
5 Practical applications to deploy leadership coaching:
Give the team the freedom to approach old problems with new approaches.
Create an openness to learning and development through leadership coaching.
Prioritize people and healthy relationship to accountability through leadership coaching.
Gain a better understanding of how team members interact.
Prioritized personal training and feedback. Pull teams to accomplish remarkable things.
I like to end with an appropriate quote on the power of leadership coaching in today’s work culture.
“Leaders empower individuals by building trust and coaching competence.” – Kenneth H. Blanchard

Embracing Life’s Uncertainties with Patience, Resilience, and Flexibility
Conclusion: Navigating Adversity with Latitude and Longitude
Mikael Eriksson Björling's article, 5 key steps to creating an innovation mindset, outlines the fundamental approach one should take when striving for innovation. It starts with a determined attitude and ends with action.
He explains that going beyond what comes naturally is essential; “Innovation is a question of mindset, and creating that mindset precedes everything else. In my opinion, it’s the innovation mindset that overrides the aspects of human nature that are often holding back innovation in large organizations.'
Therefore he sets out five clear steps: embrace openness to change, foster creativity, think big ideas, be courageous in your actions and pursue them quickly.
I’ve included a link to the article in the show notes:

I’ll wrap this episode up with an appropriate quote. This one is from Seth Godin."Change is not a threat. It's an opportunity. Survival is not the goal. Transformative success is.' - Seth Godin
This quote from Seth Godin encourages us to embrace change and strive for transformative success. It is an inspiring reminder that the goal of life should not simply be to survive, but to strive for success that leads to meaningful transformation. We must be willing to accept change and use it as an opportunity to achieve something greater.
Growing up in upstate New York evokes a certain image - one of the brownstones blanketed by winter's icy touch. The snow created icicles that would stretch from the rooftops, becoming ever stronger and more menacing as time went on. As time passed, these formidable snow dams gained intensity and strength as if attempting to reach the ground. The sight was awe inspiring, yet these icy formations could be detrimental to ones’ home. Left unattended, the damage could be far worse than what meets the eye.
This is a great analogy for our mental health too. Our lives can become weighed down with doubt and fear if we don't make an effort to break away from these pesky mental ice dams - the barriers that stop us achieving our true potential. Like physical ice dams, if left untreated, these blocks can weaken even the most solid foundations you've set for yourself. However, one day the solidified walls will come tumbling down and leave you open to a world of possibilities previously unheard of. Though it may be at an unexpected moment, this freeing event will take place when least expected.

“Can my current habits carry me to my desired future.” -James Clear
“4 Important Questions to Continually Ask Yourself:
“How have I been complicit in creating the conditions I say I don’t want?”
“What am I not saying that needs to be said?”
“What am I saying that’s not being heard?”
“What’s being said that I’m not hearing?”
― Jerry Colonna
Take the Lead: Unblock the Path to Progress with these Action Items
1. Identify the primary obstacle.
Break down the obstacle into smaller, more manageable pieces.

Leaders who use the power of reflection are able to take a step back and analyze their decisions. This allows them to make more informed and powerful decisions, while also allowing them to experience societal changes within their respective organizations. Those in staunch opposition of reflection may be unaware of its potential benefits, but with strong and knowledgeable leadership, they can understand how it can help them thrive in a changing world.
Reflection is an important part of self-growth. Taking time to examine our actions and decisions allows us to recognize areas for improvement and better ourselves. In addition, having a strong understanding of yourself enables you to make informed decisions in the present moment. As business leaders, reflection can be beneficial in recognizing potential pitfalls and avoiding costly mistakes that could negatively affect the future of your company. Stay tuned as we discuss the importance of reflection, the benefits, and the pitfalls of reflection.

Building relationships is more complex within our new expansive world.
Over the last decade we have experienced a progressive metamorphosis in relationship. It got me pondering this idea: Is this social disruption fracturing our in-person relationships?
The personal connection of human interaction has been somewhat marginalized by the impact of social media networking technology.
Simultaneously, the conduit of social media has expanded our core connections. Our tree has grown multiple limbs that afford us the reach and connection to one another.
Welcome to Balance Cubed with your host Coach Joe

Welcome to Balance Cubed with Coach Joe. That’s right, motivated and inspired your connection to a balanced life.
ON episode 38 we are talking “Relationship Recession”
While the innovation of social networking technologies has increased connectivity, it has to some degree, forced us into abbreviated conversations. Our emotions manifested using limited characters leaving tonality and intentions as interpreted biases.
The social revolution brings about abundance – just as a burgeoning economy wobble in its newfound shoes. Various players from across the spectrum are finding new ways to interact with and integrate this communication into their business.
Social media communication can distract you from spending quality time with family, friends, and co-workers. The more we become hooked on the dopamine rush of social media, the less engaged and connected to our moments of connectedness. The moment of quiet rectitude emboldens others to impose their judgements in situations where they wouldn’t normally be acceptable.
This interconnected web has given us privilege of meeting people from different walks of life, staying connected easily, and eliminating distances.
Social connection has changed how we experience communication but has also opened us up to a variety of possibilities. It opens our eyes to setting boundaries, giving space, gaslighting, and stonewalling.
The question I ponder, is the sphere of relationships developed through social media better for us or just an extension of us?

The Importance of Balance and Leadership Agility
Description
Do you want to find balance in your life? Do you want to be a leader who is present, balanced, and agile? If you're struggling to get these things, then this episode is for you. In this episode, you will learn:
1. What is balanced leadership and how can it help leaders in times of stress and uncertainty?
2. How can leaders stay agile and focused when faced with challenging situations?
3. What are some practical applications of balanced leadership and agility?
Choice of words can make a difference between someone accepting or denying a message.
You can have a very beautiful thing to say, but say it in the wrong words and its’ (wind sound) gone. Our biggest struggle with communication is when we simply assume it happened.
There are two schools of thought that explain how we perceive this motion. Flow and Force
Welcome to Balance Cubed with your host, Coach Joe. Come join us on this journey as we discuss a balanced and harmonious life. Our goals are to provide practical applications that are scalable, manageable, and measured.

On episode 30. "The power and flow of communication"
I’m a science nerd. Author John Green said, “Nerds like us are allowed to be unironically enthusiastic about stuff…that no one else cares about”. We live in a world that is constantly in motion. The physics of our environment involves dynamic motion rather than static states,
and the vitality of our relationships require constant circulation of connection and collaboration.
We often take for granted the power of the spoken word. We presume that our intentions are received in the manner in which we delivered the message. Today the potential communication bias is more likely in part, due to the diverse channels. Cognitive bias affects the way we process information and how we make decisions to communicate. The tone comes from the way you’ve chosen to write your thoughts and reveals your opinions. Similarly in the things we experience our lives are constantly moving, but there are two schools of thought that explain how we permit this motion — Flow and force.
Our communication experiences are like holding a garden hose that’s been crimped in the middle. Some water can flow through, but not very much. If you want to increase the rate at which water passes through the hose, you have two options.
The first option is to crank up the valve and force more water out. Now this option increases anxiety, induces stress, and communicates haste. The second option is to simply remove the bend in the hose and let the water flow naturally. Unbinding the hose improves the flow and reduces force so that communication is allowed to follow a natural channel.
Jim Rohn wrote, “Success is neither magical nor mysterious. Success is the natural consequence of consistently applying the basic fundamentals.”
Unfortunately, culture has taught us to grind it out and work hard, using force to increase the flow. That works in certain occasions, pressing to meet deadlines, hustling to close business (and there’s a time and place for it) but it can only be relied on in short bouts because it’s unsustainable.
I liken it to chasing a snowball rolling downhill gaining mass as it cascades into a landslide.
Scientist refer to this as “Dysfunctional momentum”
Dysfunctional momentum rears its ugly head and sometimes with dire results.
We can direct activities, bond the joints in collaboration, and align teams by ensuring our communications are finely tuned.
I like to bring in an element of a book or an article I’ve read into this podcast. I want to share a snippet of an article I read in Forbes. There’s a direct correlation to this episode.
I know you’re going to find value in this:
In his article in Forbes: On Jan 23rd 2022
LEADERSHIP STRATEGY
https://www.forbes.com/leadership-strategy/
12 Habits To Become A Better Leader
Alain Hunkins
Mr Hunkins described communication flows in this manner:
Momentum is the fickle child of progress. It requires careful manipulation and conscientious focus. The act of keen observation that positions our success on a level of performance and continuous improvement. Sustainable momentum is a tactical element of leadership. Have you experienced running downhill and the intense emotion that comes with compelling action? The euphoria of momentum propelling your forward as you learn to balance speed and motion.
Maybe you’ve experienced the counter action while running uphill. The energy and force doubles as you try to gain momentum. Fortunately, for us momentum isn’t an uphill/downhill challenge. It is in fact; a landscape completes with peaks and valleys. Filled with adversity and diversions. The biggest challenge for a leader is directing momentum. More to the point directing and sustaining momentum! Rising to the challenge as a leader while achieving an agenda is just the beginning.
Our story: we’d come out of a company-wide realignment strategy, and I’d been assigned a new role within the organization. Our mission to provide leadership, stability, and growth in a particular segment of our business. An underserved area.
From my limited mindset it was a demotion. In the beginning, I didn’t understand the vision and didn’t embrace the change. One thing I knew for certain. We were not going to allow it to fail! In my minds eye, there were no other alternatives.
As we progressed, we added new teammates with varying degrees of leadership. They had sound tactical practices and new the function of the role in its’ simplest form. But, we had many communication challenges and the team didn’t match the leaders’ vision. My vision. We scaled the walls of momentum and progress was measurable from a metrics perspective. Metrics, didn’t tell the whole story. We were clunky, failing to communicate, and struggled to align with our newly assigned purpose. How do you bring a team of subject matter experts together on mission that requires team alignment? We had to learn how to operate as team to trust to gain momentum. Like any other change, it required many late-night meetings, coaching, and counseling teammates to act as one and to develop into leaders. Our mission was more than a metric of performance, it was essential as we headed in and out of COVID. Our team hit a hill fueled by a series of wins. You know when you have it. You know you have it when that everything seems to be flawless. Like our oil tanker mass being guided to shore. Guided by processes, actions, and core values. It’s the passive energy of forward progress that generates.
The challenge: we were veering on a course of momentum like a landslide taking everything in its path. Riding the wave of influence as it coerced us into believing we had arrived. Then, like most we were faced with talent depletion, rising costs, and stressed overworked teammates. The vision it seemed had changed course again.
As our passion to ride the waves of adversity diminishes, our flame burns low. The illusion of ease takes over and we’re disillusioned. Sometimes we don’t even see the winds of change redirect our focus. 5 practical applications:
Build a coalition of people who support the mission.
Maintain hyper-focus. Keep everyone focused on the activities necessary.
Adjust, adapt, and overcome.
Take time to celebrate small, but definable successes.
Bonus: keep learning.
Don’t be a victim of negative self-speak. The words you say aloud can be powerful allies or powerful weapons.
How many times do we use throw away words? Like Statements “I’m so stupid” , “how can I be so dumb?”, or “I’m such a procrastinator”.

On Episode 15 we’re discussing Negative Speak. The impact of the words we speak out loud.
Be aware of the words you use out loud. Be specific about the words you use to describe your setbacks
Earlier in life, it is convenient to excuse poor decisions by labeling them and myself.
Before there were SME who educated us on the power of the words we speak.
I would used derogatory and at times defamatory language to define my own mistakes.
Those choice words like weights around my mindset.
Those burdens literally weighing down perspectives limiting potential. I was living into the person I was verbally describing.
What’s the power of negative words spoken aloud?
Annabel’s evil twin...
There’s and old axiom that says “the words you speak become the house you live in.”
How often do we allow our fear to manifest and stop our progress ? Words misspoken aloud changes our outcome before we even begin.
Study’s proved that when we speak negative words they release stress and anxiety-inducing hormones.
Some of us are in the habit of using the same negative words over and over again out of habit. The problem is that the more we hear, read, or speak a word or phrase, the more the spoken word power it has over us.
Our 5 practical applications for the power of positive speak
This is because the brain uses repetition to learn, searching for patterns and consistency as a way to make sense of the world around us.
Don’t take my word for it!
In their jointly written book, Words Can Change Your Brain, Dr. Andrew Newberg, a neuroscientist at Thomas Jefferson University, and Mark Robert Waldman, a communications expert state, “a single word has the power to influence the expression of genes that regulate physical and emotional stress.”
“WORDS CAN INSPIRE. AND WORDS CAN DESTROY. CHOOSE YOURS WELL.”
Teamwork, the working together imperative.
The essence of all teams is collaborative interdependence.
Teamwork: is often paired with terms like collaboration, synergy, and cooperation.
It’s a dichotomy of strategy and tactics in the purpose of brining a vision to life.

All teams are groups but not all groups are teams.
Let’s demonstrate the power of teamwork and the influence on results.
The Story of the great balloon challenge...
In working with high-performance minded leaders we find there are some commonalities in their approach to a team environment.
They have a self-realization that prosperous work is a result of collective unit working in tandem towards a mission
That cohesiveness aligns the daily efforts that move the team towards excellence.
We achieve more when we use the collaborative brains, enthusiasm, and support of everyone on the team.
Teamwork is far less about hierarchical management and more about collaborative leadership.

Don’t get comfortable in the “room of doubt and disillusionment ”. #coachjoe
The room of doubt and disillusionment is a place we experience anxiety because we can’t see the answers.
The barrier is often within the preverbal 4 walls of your current mindset. The confines of which are limited by how far they’re stretched.
The limiting beliefs that keep us confined to our past experiences.
The room of doubt and disillusionment is but a temporary setting that heralds the room of renewal.
The room of doubt can often times lead to a new beginning.
A place where we discover the lessons of failure, learn what it is we want, and inspires us to take action.
A place where reflection changes perspective and failure redirects our course.
Scalable skills are those skill sets you can acquire, deploy, and replicate with consistency.
Our actions change our perspective.
Our perspective changes our actions
Our actions changes our results
Welcome to balance cubed I’m your host coach Joe.
On episode 11. We’re discussing scalable skills and deliberate practice. Individually they’re powerful tools to move you forward.

Picture if you will a funnel. For the bottom end of your tunnel to deliver its intended purpose it must have the proper input at the top end.
High-performance minded leaders understand the quality and quantity of the input determines the output.
So they’re specific about the level activity that feeds the top end of the funnel.
Instead of managing the end-result of their actions they double-down their input efforts
We start through a process we labeled “self-discovery “
Self discovery is a solution based activity that identifies the actions needed to moves us towards the desired objective
That activity is either moving forward or holding us in place.
When we add clarity to the reasons for stagnation we can identify and discuss the steps necessary to get us back on the right actions that move us forward
Our funnel of self discovery consists of 7 key inlets. We’ll call these our action identities
Our daily managing activities are we acting congruently with our goals?
Our voids. These are usually are blind spots and no one is comfortable looking at your individual blind spots. But by bringing them into the light we can alter our perspective and adjust to a more serving action
Our behavior. Are we fueling our daily behaviors with the right fuel. Expanding our current circle of influences instead of standing in a circle of comfort.
Root cause analysis. To truly understand the roadblocks we need to what’s impeding our path. A thorough root cause analysis will identify the smallest stop signs on our journey
Best Practices. The road is not always the same for your success as it’s been for someone else. Each person must travel a different course. However, there are some best practices you can benefit from others who’ve successfully traversed your current course. Find them and implement
Tactics, tools, and Strategies. As one of my favorite books by Brent Gleason says “Embrace the Suck” set clear goals, create an execution plan, practice daily diligence, and exercise daily routines
Implementation of daily actions by taking massive action.
“If it doesn’t involve at least a little bit of pain, adversity, or challenge, it’s not worth doing” - Brent Gleason
Balance Cubed -episode 8: Mindful Motivation
It can be hard to stay upbeat, positive, or attentive when the future looks unclear, and when we feel there is so little we can do to affect it.
You don't need to deny it or beat yourself over the head with it. Acceptance is simply about seeing and accepting that at this moment, you're not very motivated.
New episode released today focuses on the success journey. Join us as we discuss the confidence discipline as a function of balance/harmony life.
Welcome to Balance Cubed, I’m your host coach Joe. A podcast where we
Discuss the 6 disciplines of balance/harmony.
That’s right unscripted and unfiltered you connected to a balanced/harmonious life.
On episode 6 a we discuss the power of perspective (mindset).
John Maxwell said, “The power of perspective is an intentional discipline. It takes time and commitment, but it creates an understanding between you and the people you lead that allows you to move forward, faster—and with increasing success.”
How we see our lives is how we live our lives. Our perspective is arguably the single greatest aspect of our uniqueness. It is also the foundation for one of the most powerful tools through which we can relate to and build relationships with others: our perspective taking.
We each have a uniquely valuable perspective on life—a lens through which we interpret our lives. Through our perspective, we define what makes sense to us, which is differentiated from how others see and experience life.
We have a filtered lens through which we see - GPS if you will, that navigates us towards or distances us from the negative environments. Those land-minds that jar our perspective and alters our mindset.
However, we don’t know what we don’t know, and perspective taking provides a powerful tool to expand our own perspective by learning from the way others see life.
Every day we embark on a next chapter of our life’s journey. The sunlight filters the moment just long enough to set it free. As the shadow settles in over the past as quickly as the hands of time turns.
Welcome to Balance Cubed with your host coach joe - joe CLEMENTI.
Come on this journey where we discuss the elements of a balanced/harmonious life.
That’s right, unscripted and unfiltered - your connection to a balance life.
On episode 4 we our title is Credibility Deposit.
This is the commodity of Time, of scarcity, often overlooked, never bartered for, and rarely valued. Today’s photos capture moments frozen in time. Historical narratives that are handed down for generations to come.
When looking towards the future...today, what do you see? Are you living the life as the best version of yourself? Are you living in scarcity or, basking in abundance? Is the person you are today leading you towards the best version of yourself five years from now?
Sustained excellence may take different paths but, share specific characteristics.
The high-performers I study share similar traits.
On episode 3 we’re going to talk about greener pastures.
What do you mean coach Joe, like cows? Laughter. No I don’t mean cows!
I want to start with this very important context. Too many people think the grass is greener somewhere else, but the grass is greener where you water it. Remember that!
So on episode 3, our title is “Tend to your garden of success, or it will tend to you”
We must set this preface first. Sometimes, the environment is bad, inhabitable, or worse still toxic. We don’t want you to sit in a garden of weeds, mildew, and crap. The end-result is that as your brain software system rewrites it’s codes, it will now code that environment as your new “norm”.
