For as long as I can remember, I have been hard on myself for being HUMAN. These feelings have been amplified since becoming a mother. When I feel anger, oftentimes that anger is followed by guilt afterward if I respond in a way that doesn't feel good to me.
From an early age, we are taught and conditioned to believe that there are good emotions and bad emotions. As children, we are often taught to suppress the "bad emotions."
But what happens over time when we feel anger?
What do we do with that emotion?
The truth is that anger is no different from any other emotion. It is an indicator of care and attention. Instead of feeling guilty when you feel angry, when you have a normal human reaction to life, try this six-step process to hold space for and then work through and release the anger.
This six-step process is discussed in detail in this episode:Step 1: Acceptance
Step 2: Name it
Step 3: Give yourself the care and love you need
Step 4: Ask yourself "What is my anger trying to tell me?"
Step 5: Give yourself grace
Step 6: Forgive yourself and begin anew

The text message that inspired this episode recording: "What's happening is that it's putting pressure on everyone to rush through life to achieve a certain something. And piling on so much at one time to get to said "something" faster is overwhelming for people's capacities."
Text conversations with two good girlfriends made me pause and reflect on how overwhelmed most of us are. The constant need to keep up with the Joneses, or these days the Kardashians, has a lot of people in our society overwhelmed and burned out. As millenials, we are not okay.

On this episode of the School of Healing, I had the opportunity to talk with Sarah Bright and learn more about our chakras and how we hold stress & trauma energetically. Sarah provided an overview of the chakras and gave us insight to identify if we have blocked chakras as well as strategies that we can use to heal and recover.
Sarah has been a certified personal trainer, nutritionist, and group fitness instructor for nearly two decades. She's helped thousands of people, on multiple continents, to reach their health and wellness goals. While she still does that work, Sarah is now also the host of the podcast, Your Chakra Coach, a show that blends ancient information about our energy system, with practical modern physiology and psychology. While it started as a show primarily about physical health, the 2020 pandemic created a huge space to discuss mental and emotional health. The show has grown into an exploration of how the chakra system can be used to improve physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness to bring us closer to our highest, most authentic self.

“Journeying home to self isn't about getting there. It’s about coming to a place in your life of unbecoming, shedding the layers, releasing self-doubt, owning your worth, and trusting your intuition. “
Today's world is often inundated with messages telling us how we should look, act, and think. It can hurt our self-esteem and feed our inner critic negatively. The inner critic is the voice inside our heads that tells us we are not good enough, failing, or not worthy of love and respect. It can be challenging to overcome it, but it is essential if we want to know our purpose.
Cultivating self-compassion and acceptance is essential in quieting your inner critic and navigating balance in life. We all make mistakes, and we all have flaws. So instead of beating yourself up, show yourself some kindness and empathy. This can help you build a stronger sense of self-worth and lead to a more fulfilling life.
Let's begin our journey to self together by learning how to quiet our inner critic with Deepshikha Sairam in this episode. She is a keynote speaker on Inner Critic and metaphysical teachings. She helps high-achieving women get beyond their inner critic to unlock their limitless potential for more creativity and meaning.

“The future is very different from your life now. Therefore, the actions you should take must also be greatly different. You cannot do the same thing and get something different.”Are you hesitant to pursue your dreams because you don't feel ready? Do you think you need all the necessary skills, resources, and support before taking that leap? If so, you're not alone.
Many people feel this way and put their dreams on hold for years, if not decades. However, you don't have to equip yourself fully to pursue your dreams. Waiting until you're entirely ready may mean you never start at all. It can keep you stuck in a cycle of procrastination and inaction.
If you don't feel ready, take action anyway. Starting on the right foot can give you momentum and confidence. You'll learn as you go and make more informed decisions along the way. Embrace your worth and take action today.
Listen to the full episode and learn that believing in yourself, embracing your worth, and taking action is more significant than feeling ready. Remember, you don't have to be perfect to start. Don't worry about the rest. Just do it.

"You are the expert on your lived experience because no one knows your life experience like you do, so own it. You hold the power to heal and create the best version of yourself."Life can be challenging sometimes, and feeling overwhelmed, powerless, and lost is easy. We underestimate the value of our individual experiences and innate healing capability. However, it's important to remember that our experiences make us who we are—the ups and downs, the joys and hurts, the pain and healing. They empower us to become part of the greater good.
We can reclaim control of our lives by owning our lived experiences. But first, we need deep awareness and recognition of where we are on the journey. And by slowly pacing ourselves to healing, we empower our mind, body, and soul back into balance.
I had a fulfilling conversation with Cacky Mellor about how her healing journey has led to the capacity that she does today. She is a Registered Somatic Movement Therapist and Educator, Somatic Experiencing© Practitioner, and RYT-500. She has cultivated a diverse somatic toolkit to support your healing journey.

"Healthy living isn't only about the tactical and practical things. It's also about allowing your mindset and identity to shift into the person you want to be.”Most of us strive to stay healthy and be the most optimal version of ourselves. Making small changes in our daily routine can significantly impact our health in the long run. Eating a well-balanced diet, getting enough sleep each night, going out under the sunrise, getting out in the sun and being mindful of stress-reducing activities are all key components of a healthy lifestyle.
In addition, determining the root cause of illnesses is incredibly crucial instead of just taking topical approaches when health problems arise. We need to see what is happening in our bodies rather than applying treatments to the symptoms only.
In this episode, Maja Miller joined me to help us understand our bodies and health from the inside out. "Ultimately, our imagination can help us turn our goals into reality. It helps us create an image of success, stay committed and focused on our purpose, and push through any challenges that come our way."We exist in the world with the ability to imagine things in our minds. And our minds are capable of seeing the beautiful and the ugly, whatever we like. We were born with that capability, and it's built into us to inspire great ideas when we turn our attention to something.
But have you ever wondered what life would be like without imagination?
It would feel shallow, empty, and meaningless.
That’s why I invited Christoph Weigert over to the show to talk about how using imagination can help you heal and build a better life. In addition, we talk about how beautiful it can be to imagine from a positive perspective, with an intention to help and heal.
Let's listen until the end so you can guide your soul in examining your mindset and imagination.

"Sometimes, when everything feels heavy no matter how hard you want to control things, all you need to do is SURRENDER."We pride ourselves on doing the most and keeping up with the fast pace of the world. We become overshadowed by our desires and are constantly searching for more.
Sometimes, you don’t realize how overloaded you are until you feel like everything is exploding around you. Only then, you realize you've taken too much at a time. It then becomes necessary to take an inventory, remove anything that is unnecessary, improve what needs to be better, and move forward with a clean and organized viewpoint.

“What's more important than being centered despite the negative forces around us every day?”
It's normal to react when you get triggered by people; someone pushes your boundaries, but it's essential always to ground yourself by coming back to your body throughout the day. It’s important to take some deep breaths and allow yourself space to calm down.
In this episode, I guide you to reset your body and rebalance from an exhausting day of triggers. We use the pulse breath, taking two breaths in through the nose and two out through the mouth and let peace and tranquility replenish us. As you breathe, know that you own your power to regulate and control your thoughts and release emotions that don't serve your peace and purpose.
As a season-ending episode, let remind you that you are strong, and I'm so proud of you for taking care of yourself and staying authentic and aligned with your Inner Being! Feel more and do more every time you plug into this practice.

“The beauty of how seasons change is all connected to how nature flows. And we humans, as part of nature, shall flow by how seasons are leading us to navigate life and businesses in a more aligned and authentic way.”As far as acknowledging what is true for me matters most in how I show up, I'm living life in alignment and authenticity. And that means self-reflecting and resting this January, just like how nature is hibernating with the cold weather. This is the perfect time to gather and regenerate my energy.
As I close the curtain for season two, I want to remind you all to pay attention to yourself and honor how you feel. Stay with what is true for you. Even If it means resting for a moment, that's better. It makes us more productive and intuitive rather than punishing and pushing ourselves to do things that aren't authentic to how we feel. This is the best time to put yourself together, to wrap everything up, to come back refreshed, rejuvenated and new for Spring.
After all, we are just humans, not machines. We will always seek balance and rest.
See you soon for Season Three!

“Sometimes when we are out of words or out of control of things, we tend to breathe deeply. And then find light from there.”
Our breathing is automatic. We don't have to work so much in our system to breathe. And in us humans, it's a sign of life and vitality. So what more would it be if we were mindful of our breathing?
For today's episode, I'm helping you allow yourself to release the tension in your mind through the box breathing technique. This practice helps ease up your busy and loud mind that is trying to be the superman to most in the pictures or your imagination. This time let breathwork be the hero.
Know that you can release and clear whatever thoughts are weighing on your head. You can pause and breathe them out whenever things feel noisy. Or you may want to declutter your mind. You can always plug yourself into this episode.
If this helps, share this breathwork healing and love with friends, family, or whoever needs to hear this.

“There are certain things that only a few can fill our cup, replenish us and be able to sew the broken pieces, helping us go back to a more resourced space.”
While we are all equipped to hold something, we expect others to do the same. But it’s helpful to know that we each have differences in adapting accordingly and communicating our thoughts effectively. That’s why we must deepen our capacity to hold space for others and build emotional awareness.
So this episode, Menaadchi and I discuss Non-Violent Communication to heal intergenerational trauma and let go of things that are not ours to carry. Meenadchi is a somatic healing practitioner whose work centers on the softness of meeting our best self and deepening into our collective light. Using a blend of Family Constellation Therapy and Non-Violent Communication, Meenadchi supports inquisitive individuals and entrepreneurial changemakers in reconnecting with the intuitive wisdom of your bodies so that we can co-create intergenerational healing by changing the way we speak to ourselves, each other, and the universe.
Even when we are already healed and we help other people heal, there are still spaces where healing is needed.

“One of the things that can move us through life’s cycles is outgrowing where we are currently. That's why it's essential to step evolve and not get stuck in one place.”
We are all spiritual beings living a human existence. And there are times when we need to declutter to get a better picture of what wants to be birthed within us. We must be mindful that the life cycles and nature are our guides to help us tap into ourselves and to stay aligned.
We move with pure intentions when we understand the cycles of life. And we must remember to dance through and enjoy those cycles. Remember, we go inward for us to go outward.
For this episode I am joined by April McMurtry for her to share her Lunar wisdom with us. April is a dynamic Lunar facilitator, course creator, and founder of THE MOON IS MY CALENDAR. April loves to share the language of the Moon to help us access our inner wisdom - inspiring us all to take care of ourselves, each other, and the Earth!

“It’s okay to not be okay and to need help. That doesn't make you weak; it just makes you human. Instead, reconnect, and find the purpose and meaning of your soul.”We all have our “social media lives” where we share our wins and highlights with friends and family. But we don't show when we are struggling. Instead, we battle silently with life, afraid to show the world what is really going on. To support those around us that may need help, we have to recognize the signs that someone is not okay.
This episode is a response to the shocking death of Stephen tWitch Boss. It's a reminder of the beauty of life, and encouragement that you are worthy of help and are capable of healing.
Life is full of highs and lows. We must learn to handle our failures, release what is no longer serving us and be open to talking about our pain with those we trust.

"Each human [design] needs to connect and move with each other, from energetic capacities, gifts, and wisdom to understand our purpose deeper."
How many times were you told to do this and be like that? And how did you release the pressure to show up your own way?
In this episode, I am joined by Elyse Preston to discuss Human Design as a tool for understanding life and our unique gifts. She is an Intuitive Life Coach and Human Design Guide and does healing, leadership, creativity, and spirituality works.
Each of us is different, and we function in our purpose better if we understand our human design type. As incredibly diverse and unique individuals, we have our own strategy, inner authority, specific skills and gifts to live and fulfill in this lifetime. You have to stay in the fire; you have to stay where it's uncomfortable. You’ll only play safe and afloat in your comfort zone. Go where there is growth. What's one thing that's holding you back? What does it look and feel like to start doing what you should have been doing? Yeah, I know. There's fear and discomfort.
Oftentimes, our minds are so cluttered and are battling with voices in our head from other people or family. And for me, it's wrong to make a decision from a frantic space. I've been there, and it led me to most mistakes. But as I learn to balance my emotions and identify the ego from my Higher Being, things come super clear. And the fear and discomfort of leaving my comfort blanket no longer resides.
In this episode, I share how I take control of my emotional home, like doing yoga, meditation, and breathwork to tap into my Higher Self. It's time to place the ego in the back seat.

"We all need to be held and supported by ourselves and one another."Do you know what it means to be resilient with pain, get through it, and end up on the other side with a greater sense of purpose? As humans life comes with its fair share of struggles. But we are resilient. We are designed to release pain and to get past it. When we choose to heal, we evolve into truly purposeful humans, no longer being victims to our past stories but instead letting our pain be the key to our destiny. In this episode, Sam Akers and I have a wonderful conversation about past trauma, which was the root of her illness. She was diagnosed with chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia in 1998. However, it was when she found Restorative Yoga and Buddhist Mindfulness that helped her to heal and catapulted her onto the path she is walking today.

"Unexpressed emotions will never die. They are buried alive and will come forth in uglier ways." – Dr. Sigmund FreudSome people are stuck in a perpetual state of autopilot thinking "that's the way it is." And you may have heard this before but you have to allow yourself to come off of autopilot and FEEL. Really experience life. Oftentimes we carry so much pain and hurt on the inside, yet still continue to wake up each day smiling, while holding it all up.
It doesn’t have to be that way. The hurt you feel signals that you are not living authentically. Negative feelings and emotions is the way our communicates with us and lets us know that our unhealthy patterns are not for our best good. Those emotions remind us to seek answers and ask, "what are these feelings and emotions trying to tell me?"
In this episode, Pamela Elaine Nichols and I uncover ways to heal and break through hidden trauma causing us to feel inadequate, and hold onto self-doubts, and insecurities. Pam also shares her struggles as a mother and the courage required to divorce her husband, which helped her to find true happiness and more purposeful work. We also discuss epic lessons from her book Muddy High Heels: 14 Lessons Learned From My Breakdown, Breakup & Breakthrough that will help you examine your own life. Tune in to receive all the valuable juiciness from this episode.
Remember: You can’t get to the other side without UNCOVERING what you buried.

"Healing is remembering your most authentic self. Who you were before the world told you who you needed to be. It's a process of shedding and releasing all the things that no longer serve you, whether it's beliefs, patterns, or ways of thinking."
You've probably heard that healing is a process. But what does that mean, exactly? It means you'll be shedding old habits and beliefs that no longer serve you—and it's going to be messy. Healing is the process of remembering your most authentic self before society told you who you needed to be “successful”.
We all deal with things in our lives that don't feel aligned. Whether it's a relationship that isn't working or an unhealthy habit, or a job that sucks the life out of us, we all find ourselves trying to fit into the mold society has created for us—a mold that isn't always healthy or true to who we are deep down inside. And as we allow ourselves to remember the person we are destined to be, we realize how much of our programming isn't serving us. Thankfully, there is a way to break free from that mold—and find our way back to our true identity, our most authentic self—and it starts with healing.
Healing is about loving yourself and nourishing your mind, body, and spirit so that you grow and transform into who you're meant to be. I've been committed to my own healing journey for a few years now, and I'm here to tell you that it isn’t easy. But today, I am a completely different version of myself mentally, physically, and emotionally. Saying yes to the journey is one of the best things that ever happened to me.
I am an advocate for the transformative power of MEDITATION, BREATHWORK, and YOGA. These are powerful tools for aligning your mind, body, and soul.

"Our trauma shows up in everything we do, from the way that we love to the way that we parent if we have children. And, of course, it shows up in our business as entrepreneurs."
For me, success feels like living an authentic and aligned life—it’s when I wake up every day and feel fulfilled by the work I'm doing and the people I'm surrounded by.
As an entrepreneur, my version of success looks like being able to build community and create a safe space for people to come together, share their stories, and find support for their own journeys.
But my version of success may be different from yours. We have different goals and aspirations. And we don't share the same paths or stories. As we all are in a constant process of learning, unlearning, and growing, we are gradually evolving and transforming into something significant. Each new experience is a chance to learn more about ourselves and the world around us. And that is why it's essential to live a life by our own rules and definition of success
And this week, I'm excited to bring you an interview with Sam Smith. Sam is a designer, entrepreneur, and mom who is on a mission to infuse more soul into style. In addition to being a wife and mom —she holds several titles including CEO of New Vintage by Sam, founder of The Creative Consulting Group, founding member of She's Well Networked and COO of Bmore Empowered. Listen in as she talks about how she sparked her creative style in business, and how she cultivated a culture in her company.

"Every time we decide not to listen to our inner being, our Higher Self, the internal guidance system that holds all the wisdom, gets out of alignment. We get further away from the path we are supposed to be traveling."
Establishing alignment with our inner self requires authenticity. It requires us to trust ourselves even when the direction we are being guided toward feels scary & quite frankly, might not make a lot of sense.
Oftentimes that direction & those nudges feel scary & uncomfortable, so we ignore our Inner Being. And then we end up misaligned. Misalignment happens when our minds & spirit are not on one accord. It can be an internal struggle, a massive weight on your shoulders. It can feel like there's a considerable gap between what you want & what you are doing.
We find ourselves stuck in the HOW? How do we rise to become the version of ourselves that we envision? The answer is that we have to learn to live more authentically & trust. We have to learn to accept ourselves as we truly are despite our imperfections. Despite the highlight reels from social media, life isn't meant to be perfect. That shift in perspective requires us to make some significant shifts in our lives. To slow down. To let go of all that is not working for you & to let go of the parts of you that don't align with your true self.
In this episode, I invite you to join me to find purpose & meaning in everything you do so that you can live the most authentic version of yourself.
