On this episode of "What's going on in Japan Tech Market" podcast, I had a chance to speak with the legendary Japanese international entrepreneur Terrie Llyod who has founded, scaled & sold 18 companies in Japan. Some of his founding companies include Daijob (first internet job search portal in Japan), Japan Travel, etc.
I was privileged to hear Terrie's entrepreneurial journey in Japan which started in the 80s.
Listening how Terrie transitioned from a translation company in the 80s to Hardware competing with IBM later sold to EDS now HP, Network, LAN, and finally, the internet was really phenomenal.
One thing I learned from Terrie that kind of became a building principle in my life is the importance of having 'resilience' to stay relevant, tackle & win different waves of recession, and why immigrants are resilient by necessity.
We also had a fantastic rapid-fire round where Terrie answered if someone has $50K today what they can do with that?

In this episode, I had chat with one of my colleagues from Robert Half, Japan Keina Cho who was raised in a multicultural background in Japan, China, the US, and back in Japan.
Keina focuses on software developer permanent roles, the best thing I love about Keina is her unique approach of taking recruitment to a different level being a true trusted advisor and mentor to her candidate/client supporting not only in their career move but also mental well-being, overcoming insecurity and etc.
Enjoy this podcast and let Keina & me know what you think about Japan's tech market.
