Turn The Hearts Podcast was created to help unify and join people together in raising up the next generation. We also want to discover what God is doing across the earth in kids ministries and in families. One of our goals is to help bring the generations together. Malachi 4:5-6 says He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers. It would be safe to say that all of us ask ourselves the question, "why does God let bad things happen?" It can be tough thing to look at but one thing I do know is that He can turn all things good. His original intent was for it to be good. One of His desire is to bring things back to the garden and restore what was lost, being close to us again. In this episode I share things God showed me about this very thing.

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:27

Aaron (my husband) and I went home for Christmas this past year. We got to sit down with my Dad on night to record an episode. He shared so much wisdom with us that we cherish very much. With a life given to the red-letter text of God’s Word, Jade De Kelaita's heart has been captured by the world’s rejected – the orphan, the widow, the poor, the prisoner, the homeless, the sick, and the forgotten. The presence of God she carries has opened doors for her to speak nationally and internationally in prisons, schools, universities, nursing homes, under bridges, churches, and nations such as Africa, Asia, Central America, UK, and more. She is birthing a “2:6 Movement” in the earth where true disciples are rising up to live out 1 John 2:6. “Whoever claims to live in Him must live as Jesus did.”Jade shares wisdom she learned from walking "through the darkest valley." When you go through the valley and unexpected places you need to have the word of God inside of you and beside you. 'For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. Time and time again I have witnessed preteens with such a desire for the Lord’s presence and often they will hear direction for their purpose and calling from Him at this age. They are powerful, not embarrassed to be childlike and full of faith. They excel when given the opportunity to step into their fivefold giftings. They have a big yes for the Lord and we can actually learn a lot from them. Preteens are children from 9-12 years old. God is very intentional with this specific age group and we should be too.

Sadly the church has little or no vision, or budget for this incredible age group but worldly initiatives are investing billions into targeting this age group because they know if they can influence or keep this age group distracted with their agendas, they will likely have them hooked for the rest of their lives.

Pastor Gwynn Enriquez (Diversity Church in Dallas, TX.) started ministering to preteens in 1999 and has had a burning heart for it ever since. Together with her husband, Pastor Miguel, and their children they started a Preteen Gathering that launched with 12 preteens and has grown to over 80 preteens. They started with a "YES" to the Lord and Pastor Gwynn shares how He has provided all the way.

I am so excited about this episode. It is an incredible story of hope, healing, and the church loving and supporting each other. It's a story of a tragedy that God turned into goodness and blessing. Like Joseph said in Genesis 50:20, "You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. " Shelby's story is incredible and I believe it will bless many lives.

Shelby Slaughter is the Children’s Ministry Director at UPPERROOM. Previously in Los Angeles, California, she and her husband Nathan were full-time missionaries with One Voice Student Missions. They relocated to UPPERROOM in 2020. Nathan & Shelby have 5 incredible children. They have a heart for family and to see children transformed by the presence of Jesus. Email: sslaughter@uroom.org

My sister, Anita, joins in a follow-up podcast to talk about her encounter with God at a deeper level. She talks about how we can position ourselves when God is moving and offers wisdom on how to respond when he moves even in the smallest way towards us. Whether it's a big or small encounter, when you feel Him move, TURN and look."The angel of the Lord appeared to him in a blazing fire from the midst of a bush; and he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, yet the bush was not being consumed. So Moses said, “I must TURN aside and see this marvelous sight, why the bush is not burning up!” When the Lord saw that he TURNED aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.” Then He said, “Do not come near here; remove your sandals from your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground.”" Exodus 3:2-5Anita is the owner of The Copy Grind, where she uses copywriting to help businesses create effective brand messaging. One of the greatest gift you can give someone is for them to know they can hear God's voice, they can talk to him and He loves them.  Now more than ever it is important for us to be intentional about disciplining this next generation.  We need to teach the children how to pray.

God gave me a creative and simple way to teach kids to pray. I have noticed it makes a difference and they can learn it easily.  I have been feeling like I should share it for a couple weeks now. I have done it at Kids for the Nations summer camp and with my own daughter.  I have noticed my daughter grow so much in prayer and I am seeing fruit from these prayer times together.  I pray this blesses you and any kids you end up sharing this with.

The world is truly at war over families and children.  If you listen to the news it's almost all you hear about.  Millions dollars and hours of spent on people promoting their agenda's on children. The tough question we need to ask ourselves is what are we doing as the church? If you look at a scale between the world and the church, it sure looks like the world is putting all of their money and efforts into the next generation.  I think it's time for us to ask ourselves, what are we doing? What is Jesus heart for this next generation and are we partnering with him?  God has so much more he desires to pour out over this generation and He wants us to be a part of it.  We are hungering and burning for MORE for this generations, then we know of or have ever experience.  We are believing for it. On this episode we had with us Connie McKenzie from Christ for the Nations Institute in Dallas, Texas.  She has worked there for over 30 years as the Director of the Children's and Families Major.  She has also been in Kid's Ministry for over 30 years.  She help start Kid's for the Nations Camp for kids. She has decades of experience in this area and is full of wisdom to glean from.

Today's guest is my friend, Katy Binger. Katy shares testimonies of God providing for the kids she works with in South Dallas. Katy works at Christ for the Nations Bible Institute and is the elementary children's pastor at Trinity Fairmeadows Church in Dallas, Texas. She works with kids in Dallas living in Section 8 government housing. Some of them wear the same shoes for years. They have a lot of needs and struggles, and they need God to show up. God has time and time again shown up for these children because He loves them and wants them to know He is real and He cares for them. Katy also has a dynamic history in ministry from a very early age, when she began traveling the world at four years old. She has ministered in Costa Rica, Belize, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Bulgaria, and many nations to come. She loves leading teams and training up generations to fulfill the call of God upon their lives. I would love to raise money to see her kids get new shows and jackets this winter.  In the past they have always bought Christmas presents for 80-100 kids in their neighborhood but lost their funding this year. They through a Christmas party and invite the kids and their parents. At the Christmas party they have games, prize and share the gospel.  I would love to see Trinity Fairmeadows be able to through this Christmas party for these kids and their families.  I will put the link below and Katy give instructions at the end of the podcast on how to give.   You can also find the link to give on our Instagram called turn_the_hearts Thanks for listening and remember- "Never forget the poor." God is after our heart first before anything else.  Today, my very special guest, my sister, experienced a dramatic encounter with the Lord 3 years ago - and she has never been the same.

Anita Alvarez runs her own company, The Copy Grind, as a conversion copywriter and strategist, helping small businesses with sales.

We grew up in a Christian home. After both of us returned to the Lord after a season as prodigals many years ago, I’ve seen her continuous hunger for more of the Lord. I have always seen her chase after more of Him, even when life was hard or during trials.

I am so excited for you to hear her testimony of how God touched her heart, and continued to turn her heart back to His heart again, again, and again.

Are you hungry to know Jesus more?  Do you want to really know what LOVE is or who LOVE is? Recently I read a book that opened my eyes to being able to experience the depths of Jesus no matter what season I’m in. I’ll share lessons from the book that’s for moms, dads, young, and old.  If you have a desire to go away and be with the Lord, but your season of life doesn’t allow for it, this podcast is for you! It’s an invitation to see how God has you in a place where you CAN gain more of Him.  Here is the quote I promised to post... God is a Generational God.  It's His design for us to work together.  That's why he says things like this....“I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.”  Exodus 3:6.  Our lives are intertwined and it can be a very beautiful thing, from grandparents to grandchildren or vise versa.  Today a friend of mine shares her story about her grandmother and the close relationship she had with her.  Nichole Jackson is Children's Pastor at Storehouse Church and the Director of Comenius School of Creative Leadership.  She has a huge heart for the next generation and I believe her grandma was a major part of those seeds being planted in her heart.  Psalm 145 says…and shall declare your mighty acts.  5 On the glorious splendor of your majesty,  and on your wondrous works, I will meditate.  6 They shall speak of the might of your awesome deeds,  and I will declare your greatness.  7 They shall pour forth the fame of your abundant goodness and shall sing aloud of your righteousness.  The words pulled me in that morning, and they continue to pull…“One generation… to another” Our God is the God of many generations.  I pray you are blessed by this episode and encouraged to start praying for your family members today, whether it is a grandparent, parent, sibling or church family, because those prayers could change the world.

JJ and I  spend time talking with our friend, Jonathan Lewis, Worship Leader at Upper Room Dallas.  We chat about the exciting things God is doing on the Monday Prayer Set  from 12-2 PM.  We've been going this Prayer Set for a year and a half, and it has had a huge impact on our lives.  God has healed our family and put a deep love for prayer into my daughters heart.  So much so that she "plays" Upper Room Prayer Set in her room- almost everyday. I don't even have words to express how deeply it touches my heart to hear my daughter worshipping Jesus in her room, on her own.

Something NEW is happening there and it's so beautiful to be able to see it.  We love it so much we wanted to share it will you guys too.  We hope you enjoy!

Since 2008 my heart got touched deeply with the importance of kids encountering God and it being a part of their everyday lives ......So let's talk about that. Deuteronomy 6:4-9  “Listen, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord alone. And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.  Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders.  Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
