New releases, festivals abound, and some news about a brief interruption to the normal service. There's talk of summer festivals with a review of just a handful of the performers you might encounter to whet your appetite.
Festivals abound in this episode with a gig guide drawn from the first summer festivals as we take on the challenge of three gins. Homemade Lemon and Thyme gin starts us off before we sample the delights of Dartmouth and some delightful gins from Brixham.
It's festival season! We're easing into the summer with local festivals and a few gigs, two gins, and a short geology lecture courtesy of the African Rift Valley because it really do be that way sometimes. As always Jo and Leo will ease you in with some new releases.
Having caught the bug for tasting multiple gins at Salcombe Distillery last month, Jo and Lee have two gins to accompany this month's new release and bumper gig guide. From floral gins with some May Day inspired track choices, to a navy strength offering with the gig guide, there's plenty to enjoy.
Lee and Jo packed their bags and headed over to Salcombe to enjoy some rest, relaxation, and all of the wonders that Salcombe Distillery had to offer with a gin tasting flight by the water's edge.
Join them on location at the distillery bar as they sample some of the gin on offer, with a full suite of tasting notes to accompany a gig guide that's bulging at the seams after some brand new music due out this month.
We sit down with Janice Burns and Jon Doran to discuss their debut album, taking in their musical background along the way and also exploring some of their community projects. We manage to squeeze in a gig guide too!
January comes with some Scandi vibes and a chilled playlist as Jo and Leo are still very Zen after a spa day, and also very pleased with Jo's new purchase! Details, fun and frivolity within.
So long and thanks for all the fish 2022! We're pleased to see the back of that one, but on closer inspection, hidden deep under a thick crust of annoyance and malaise there were absolute gems to be found scattered throughout the year. We're having a little look back before heading into 2023 at full speed.

There's being on good form, and there's being the pinnacle of professionalism that is Jo and Leo, your Totally Folked hosts. We take in everything from pumpkins as the basis of floral arrangements to holographic folk artists, and of course there are gigs and new releases.
We even have Leo's bandmate David on board to discuss another new podcast project.
This episode comes to you from a Purbeck Valley Folk Festival, set in a sunny field on the Jurassic Coast. There's an absolute hoard of new music to delight your ears, and a rather smashing gin. You may even hear the sounds of the festival carried on the breeze to our recording hideaway in the artists field!
The gig guide this month is a festival fly by, featuring picks from some of our local festivals scattered across August. We're swinging by Wickham, Sidmouth and the lovely Purbeck Valley Folk Festival after a bumper crop of new music with a double measure of a very quaffable gin in hand!
There was so much new music this month we didn't even manage to squeeze in any Glasto-bants! With gin inspired by the plight of some creepy crawlies, there's music from previous podcast guest Ellie Gowers, and even a brief excursion to the New World with a song about Maple Syrup.
The wine was flowing as abundantly as the new music this month! With a lovely Columbo gin as an accompaniment to the music, Jo and Leo peek ahead at the upcoming summer festivals.
The kittens run amok as we zoom through a gig guide that's bursting at the seams! Leo's had his hair done, and Jo has been gin shopping for a tasty selection of half time podcast refreshments.
Jo and Leo are in the studio for an interview with Blair Dunlop and Ellie Gowers before their concert at Bournemouth Folk Club. It's a whistle stop tour of musical inspirations and also a smorgasbord of new music with fresh releases from the likes of Jacob and Drinkwater.
The new releases just kept on coming this month! Jo and Lee toast the tidal wave of brand new music with a pink gin whilst wondering where the Scandi-folk disco went!
There's already new music on the horizon as the fruit gin sees us into the New Year. Jo and Lee also look back on some 2021 releases that didn't make it into the jam packed playlists before looking ahead in the gig guide.
This month regular hosts Jo and Lee are joined by duo Good Habits. Cellist Bonnie and Accordionist Pete share stories of their time navigating a tour that left them in lockdown on the other side of the world and share some of their some of the tracks that have inspired them.
We're back with even more new music and gig previews from an overflowing gig guide. The fruit gin cocktails make a triumphant return, and we muse upon Michael Portillo's jackets.
