today i saw a tiktok talking about how nicki minaj is probably on the spectrum and putting up video clips showing her stemming etc. i just think it’s so harmful when can neurodiversity just be accepted and not have to be acknowledged i just didn’t like how the clips were out together i have a lot of characteristics of those on the spectrum and i wish they could all just be normalized like it’s okay to get sensory overload or have to have your spaces a certain way and follow a certain schedule and none of those traits necessarily mean you are on the spectrum and who cares if you are!!!

trying to perfect or balance or healthy include these things in my life is my personal hell the good place really made me change my perspective and i feel like at any angle any person looks at their lives they could see it as their personal hell that show made me think a lot tbh

stockholm syndrome is so freaking crazy but i get it i’m always drawn to and towards the things and people that have caused me the most harm and hurt why can’t it be the other way around?

I like writing like this though because when I just keep going I think it generally ends up being about something rather entertaining or interesting. It’s like a dive into my mind where I just reach in and see what I pull out.

I know that sounds weird but what i mean when i say that is that right now, I have little financial responsibility but I also make little money and if my income doubled but I had sole financial responsibility for myself and my needs, i’d be super broke. So yah, i need lots of money. “

Hi guys we are back on the podcast this week talking about our college experience and our advice for this years incoming freshmen! This episode we are joined by our friend and fifth year architecture student at our alma mater, Virginia Tech, Waverly! Stay tuned to hear what we suggest!

This episode was sparked by the dropping out trend on Tiktok we assumed this was due to COVID-19 and how that impacted student's previous school year. Back to school season is in full swing right now and we are coming to terms with not going back and we asked ourselves are we experiencing post-grad blues? How does it feel to not be back at school?

All three of us attended Summer Academy at Virginia Tech so we described that application process and touched on how we chose our college. What should you look for in a college?

We also talked about the adjustment period and how the first year of college went for us. Going to VT we saw a lot of racial events happen in our presence we touched on the various racist sports team incidents that occurred in our time there.

Sitting down for this heartfelt discussion I asked my mom her background with her natural hair and how she perceived getting her hair done as a child. We discussed old pictures of her and how black hair was seen in pop culture she referenced a L.L. Cool J commercial. We touched on the idea of hair being bonding time with your parent and siblings as well considering the age gaps we both have with our siblings. We talked about how we took care of our hair in college and the feeling of having to use heat. I asked about her little hair braiding career and if she was scared when she realized she was pregnant with a baby girl. The podcast started to get a little heated when we discussed the reasons why my mom permed (relaxed) my hair without permission as a child. My mother also had two big chops during my life span so I tried to get some background on that decision. We touched on postpartum hair loss, her experience with weave and hair extensions and more! We closed the episode out talking about our hair inspirations and if we felt the conversation was productive!
