Tell about bible. 1961-13 years old.Where is your Comfort ZoneLuke 1:28-38Mary- being told she will bear a child.Joseph finding out Mary was pregnant.How many times were they pulled from their comfort zone to preserve and raise the Son of God. That is an incredible story in it's self.What would you do if the angel Gabriel appeared to you and asked you to do something for God that would turn your world upside down?Where was the comfort zone of Peter, Andrew, James and John.fishing boats.Matthew 4:18-22. Read.Peter walking on water.ego looking to self. sinking into the world. angry seas means angry peopleMatt.14:24-32 Peter took his eyes off Jesus.Peter in court yard denying Jesus. All the work in the church, work spreading the gospel, do all to the Glory of God.Never take your eyes off Jesus. Don't let anything you do go to your head, This is all for God's glory, not ours.Disciples in the upper room. locked in, full of fears and doubts. They were praying, talking about what happened and Jesus came to them to reassure them. They left their comfort zone along with their fears doubts, and went to the shores of Galilee where they spent their lives fishing. To meet up with Jesus.What was the commission Jesus gave to his disciples. It wasn't to go out in their comfort zone in the boats, or to stay in the upper room. He said "Feed My Sheep". He gave them a job to do and each one of them left their comfort zone and did what he asked them to do.Isn't that our job too.God will not call you to do something that He doesn't think you would be able to do. And if He calls you to do something that is difficult or that you think is impossible, don't you think He would give you the ability to do it. I'm an extreme introvert. Do you think God changed that so I could do His work. Yes He did. Are we not His disciples. If He gives you a job to do, do it! God has his reasons that we know nothing about. Have we forgotten our commission God gave us? "Feed My Sheep!"He didn't ask us to do it, He told us to do it!Ps 23 is the life of a Christian.Ps. 23. The Lord is my Shepard, I shall not want. (Do we have need of anything.He maketh me to lie down in green pastures. He Leadeth me beside the still waters.(Sheep are kept in a fold at night where they are safe from predator's. The Shepard leads his sheep out of the fold and to green pastures so they can eat and drink. He leads us out of our comfort zone and gives us direction to where or what He wants us to do. He supplies everything we need.He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. (He teaches us and prepares us to do His work. He puts the words in our mouths to say and the thoughts in our minds. Jesus fills our souls with love for our fellow man.Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou are with me. Thy rod and they staff they comfort me. Jesus will not leave us, He is with us every step of the way helping us, guiding us. It doesn't mean we won't have trials, it means He will be with us and help us through them.Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies, thou anointest my head with oil, my cup runneth over. He has commissioned us to do his work. Enemies will be all around us. He won't leave us and he will help us. We will be in the thick of the battle.Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.This is God's promise to us if we give ourselves to Him and let Him lead us out of our comfort zone to do his work.Where is your comfort zone?What is your comfort zone?Life sketches of Ellen White letter number 37, 1890. Read about FossDoes this sound like Peter facing the stormy water and billowing waves of doubts and fears. Peter realized his mistake and he called for Jesus to help him. Foss didn't call for help. He kept sinking into Satan's trap of fears and doubts.When God gives you a job to do, do it!Whether the job is here in the church or out ministering to others, giving out pamphlets to others. carry the glow tracks with you. Have handy the amazing facts papers. Keep a bag of them in your can and When you are impressed to share Jesus with someone, do it!I want to be a Peter, not a Foss. You have a choice, there is no fence walking here. You chose one way or the other. The fence is owned by Satan.(Lift up Foss story.) This scares me. It should scare you too!This sermon is for me just as much as it is for you. I am just as guilty as the next person.I'm standing in front of you today delivering a sermon. Not because I want to but because God put me here. When contacted- mind went into panic mode. What in the world were they thinking. I'm not a preacher. I don't give sermon, I wouldn't even know where to start!Out of the chaos came a still small voice saying "Comfort Zone".After I calmed down, this entire sermon flooded my mind. I can not take credit for this sermon. God gets all the credit. Is Satan keeping you a prisoner in your comfort zone. TV, Computer, books. Your ego or self. Satan's traps are deadly and they are aimed at our young people. He's blinding them and making their comfort zones seem wonderful with all the pleasures of this world. He turns them just enough to make them look innocent. He flips them to where the guilt is thrown on Jesus.Look at the evil and corruption around you. Where is it safe anymore. You aren't even safe in your own home. Satan is everywhere. Look at the news. What do you see?Where is your comfort zone? What is your comfort zone.When the shepherd opens the gates to the sheep fold to lead His sheep out to green pastures and living water, what do they do?They step out of their comfort zone where they have been for the long night. They see the shepherd and surround him, pressing in against Him. He becomes their comfort zone.We need to break away from our worldly comfort zoneand make our Comfort Zone around Jesus instead of ourselves.It's all about Him, not us.
