Emotions are often complicated and confusing, they can be overwhelming, exhilarating and exhausting. The concept of emotions baffles even the most educated experts, with no real explanation of what causes us to feel the ways we do.
Often for Christians emotions can leave us feeling even more confused, some seem so spiritual while others are perceived as sinful. Feeling a wide array of emotions is OK, good, even healthy. Our emotions are a gift that enable us to live life to the full so we don’t have to be afraid or ashamed of them.
So, while we can’t always control how we feel, we can often choose how we express our feelings, which leaves us with the question - are there godly and ungodly ways to manage our emotions?
Even though the Jews and Gentile Christians came from different backgrounds…they now have a unified story. We are a part of that story and continue to write the story. What is that story?
The third and final marker of someone who is being transformed by Jesus is having a relationship with the Public…or OUT.
The second marke of what it means to be “Transformed like Jeus” is to be oriented to the body of Christ….or church. Church is a tainted word…but it is not a tainted concept.
The first marker of a life that is tranformed by Jesus is to be God-Centered, or the UP in the triangle. From Romans 12:1-2 we see that a God-centered life has sacrifice and a renewed mind.
What does it look like when you join Jesus’ team? What drives us? How are we to live in our “literal, present, physical” world? How are we going to replace those in power and privilege?
