(11 Nov. 2022) When singer-songwriter Rae Charmaine was growing up in Zimbabwe her dream was to be a triple threat like the child stars she saw on the Disney Channel.

While her wide-ranging approach to the performing arts (including acting and spoken word) might dilute the work of a less talented artist, it is Rae's unique approach to songwriting that sets her apart within the Amsterdam scene that she has been a part of for the past six years. 

And though her vocal style has traces of Ella Fitzgerald, Sister Nancy and Lauryn Hill, the sound is a far cry from anything you've heard before.
