We had a final 4 team decimated, yeah NIT final 4 but still a good team. St Bonaventure, Osun Osunniyi, Isiaih Mosley, Pete Nance, DJ Burns, Khalil Shabazz, Kyle Lofton, Noah Waterman and more.

Malachi Smith enters the portal; Antonio Reeves exits to Kentucky and the conclusion of the current top classes. Bryant, Memphis, UConn, UAB, Florida, South Alabama and Youngstown State classes discussed.

These are the players encumbered the most in this new transfer for free once system. These are the best true freshman schools should covet because they can't transfer as easily as 2nd time. Yet they likely will not graduate early and be able to transfer again like those extra year covid classified freshman that have been in school 2 years.

I have accumulated data doing my own research for this podcast. I think it's helpful to actually see the information so I decided to put it on a blog in the form of a brief cheat sheet and Top 100+ Rankings (updated regularly). I think this is easy to digest information that you can use to have a good idea on each player with in 20 seconds of reading or to make comparison easy. I will try to keep it updated regularly as new transfers emerge.
There has been an incredible amount of high-end talent that entered the portal the last 10 days. In this episode we will touch on some of the top ones as the transfer portal approaches 1100 now. It's starting to catch last years unprecedented pace. Is this the peak wave? We will talk about the standouts as well as those other rankings, including oddities. Nijel Pack, Mark Sears, Tanner Holden, Norchand Omier, Terry Roberts, Jerod Lucas, Ben Vander Plas, Joseph Bamisile, Landers Nolley, Ali Ali and more.
Most all of the important jobs are filled, let's talk about the hires and fires. I'll give you my opinion on each job and thoughts on how these guys may do in the portal.
So I posted a rough draft version 2 of my rankings to get feedback. I also wanted to offer some value since I was unaware of any other updated rankings at this time. The Curbelo Crew had a problem with them, and we will talk about why. I was also made aware that there are 2 other updated ranking list out there and we will talk about the major departures on one. I actually came to similar conclusions to the Athletic independently. They had and 9 of my top 11 in their top 11. The other 2 that were different were Curbelo and a guy that had just got onto the portal that day I hadn't evaluated. So Join me and we'll talk through it.
Now that we have a tier of elite players we will start doing deep dive and comparisons. These are two guys I thought were not only the best centers but perhaps the best overall players in the portal March 28th. I'll give you might thoughts after watching more video and getting more into their team, style, surrounding talent and what I think after about their translations and projections.

In this episode we will talk about the recent history of JUCO transfers focused mostly on last season. This will help prepare us how to view current JUCO transfers in this viable talent pool and how they translate and what to watch for. We will also talk about some of the top 10 JUCO's on the market currently and a few who have already committed.
In this episode I want to talk about who has the money. We don't know much about these collectives yet so the best proxy I could come up with was basketball expenditures. I believe that will give us a good idea about the money with in and around the program, eyeballs etc as a good stand in. I think this is a good exercise anyway to see who is over or underachieving the resources invested. We will also talk about the programs that potentially stand to be hurt most by the new NIL's like Davidson, Murray State etc.
I coined the term College Basketball Free Agency because that's what the portal feels like, but we are now finding out how much like free agency it may become. Some players may make potentially more in college than they could in the NBA as a 2nd rounder. It was a little tongue and cheek but the NIL is going to potentially make the free agency aspect more real than ever there can now be realistic bidding wars between schools and 100's of thousands of dollars on the line for players. We talk about the impacts and the early reporting of this transfer season being the "wild wild west" so to speak as teams learn to navigate it with their Donor collectives and massing war chest of money to give to pay players.
We also give a quick update on a couple other significant transfers who have hit the market since I made the first version of my Transfer Rankings. We talk a little about the NCAA tourny and Remy (not Zero anymore) Martin now doing what we all expected. Totally unrelated to anything transfers (maybe Edey will transfer please) I couldn't help but to go in on a minor rant on Purdue's platoon of Edey/Williams and the incredible run Saint Peter's is on.
