My brother and I were on a two might trip to Sheila lake in the Trophy range near Clearwater BC.
I filmed this time lapse on my GoPro while I was sleeping comfortably in my tent.

During the spring of 2020 we were in the first wave of Covid and travel was limited to our own regional district so we loaded up the canoes and drove up onto the interior plateau, me in my vehicle and my borther and his wife in thiers.
Young lake is rather small and is pretty limited for camping but we manged to find a spot and during the night I shot this timelapse.

Sled assist skiing is when you use a snowmobile to access terrain where you can ski.
In this case we were towing 13 km in and another back out from a spot where we can ski up and get some turns.
It is often very tiring but just part of life when you are a back country skier.

This is a basic clip from ski touring near Clearwater BC.
We were spending most of the day in the trees after topping out in some wind blown conditions.
I captured this with my GoPro Hero 7 Black mountain on my ski pole. I am getting pretty good at using only one ski pole while I ski.

The 2021 wildfire season was the third worst on record but in terms of impact on a small local region it was incredibly devestating.
The season really took off after BC and the Pacific Northwest was locked in the Heat Dome, a highly unusual high pressure system that locked over the region and allowed temperatures to sore. Dozens of temperature records fell, day after day new records were set beating the ones set the previous day. Places that commonly see temperatures reach the lower 40’s C were now seeing daily temperatures in the upper 40’s C.
Finally, Lytton BC reached a scorching temperature of 49.6 degrees C, setting an all time record, breaking the previous one by 2 degrees. The following day a wildfire was sparked on the edge of the community and within minutes the entire community was destroyed by fire. People were forced to flee the fire leaving everything behind.
Throughout the summer the wildfires continued to escalate and for 7 weeks people were driven from their homes and communities were put on alert..
I filmed this in august when the Tremont Creek wildfire forced the community of Cherry Creek to leave their homes. What is displayed here is Rank 6 fire behavior.
