In this episode, Duke reacts to a recent episode of the Joe Rogan Experience, featuring an in depth discussion on whether the Moon Landing actually happened, are aliens actually fallen angels, is artificial intelligence inherently evil and more.
More importantly... in the midst of darkness, perversion, and demonic assault, how is the believer supposed to respond? What are the weapons of our warfare? How much Authority do we have in Christ? This is a discussion on the authority of the believer as it relates to the darkness of this age. We have nothing to fear!

Exploring the age old question... "If God exists" or "If God is all powerful and good"... then "Why is there so much pain, evil, and chaos in the world?"
This was prompted by a recent episode of the Joe Rogan Experience where Joe interviewed a woman who grew up in an apocalyptic cult. They talked about God and the Bible quite a bit, but at one point Joe shared his opinion on why God (if He exists) created humanity. This is what I'm reacting to on this episode.

What is going on??? The last few weeks have been WILD. It seems there is so much happening in our world today. Wars, rumors of wars, threats of terrorism and violence, natural disasters, signs in the heavenlies... just to name a few. In the midst of all of the craziness, we (the people of God) need to make sure we are not allowing our hearts to be troubled. We cannot get consumed by fear, anxiety, confusion... because ultimately we are not called to anchor our hope in this world or the economy or the government... but in the One who is seated on the throne.

Alex Seidler is back! Duke and Alex spend time remiscining over leading worship in the early 2000's and transition into a discussion about the kindness of God, surrendering to Jesus and leading from a posture of servanthood. Alex points out that the world is in desperate need of the people of God expressing the heart of the Father in the way that we lead ministries and do life together. People are hungry for the authentic. For real community. Alex also points out that spectator Christianity is to go. As leaders we cannot be content with doing all the ministry for the people to see. We need to demonstrate in such a way that empowers others to discover the leadership potential within them and express the nature of the Kingdom in their lives. It's a different kind of leadership that leads FROM sacrifice not FOR affirmation.

Jesus demonstrated the most extreme level of servant leadership... He didn't come to be served but to serve and later His life down for the sake of the world. He demonstrated servant leadership and then called on His disciples to do the same. This kind of selflessness and humility is so needed in our world today. In fact, creation is desperately longing for the people of God to recognize their authority and to use that authority not to exalt themselves but to serve like Jesus. Jesus didn't teach us to condemn the world. He taught us to love so well that people will ask, "What must I do to be saved?"

In this episode, Duke and Denisse Lamastra tackle issues like walking in forgiveness, responding to the Lord in obedience, and enduring correction. It isn't always easy or pleasant but every single time God requires something from us or calls us to a new level of faith, obedience, etc, it is because He wants us to grow and move into a greater level of freedom. There is something extremely freeing about inviting correction from the Lord... when we don't reject or fight against His discipline but actually lean into it.

If you watched the SuperBowl this weekend you probably saw the commercial "He Gets Us". The ad sparked a ton of controversy. Many Christians are opposed to the idea of presenting Jesus in the light of someone who "Gets everyone" and would go out of His way to wash the feet of sinners and broken people. In this episode we'll consider the different viewpoints and examine the heart behind the campaign from a biblical perspective.

Do you ever struggle with Intrusive thoughts? You know... those thoughts that seem to come from out of nowhere that you can't seem to get rid of? It happens to EVERYONE. The problem many people face is they don't recognize that just because those thoughts entered their mind does NOT mean those thoughts belong there! As a child of God, you have been given authority over every negative, Intrusive, destructive thought that comes into your mind. You don't have to put up with those Intrusive thoughts any longer!
In this episode we are delving into some scripture passages that map out our authority as believers over our thought life. The most important conversation you'll have today is the one between your own ears, and in this episode I'm sharing Biblically how to engage in self-talk (meditation) that empowers and brings life.

This week, we're continuing the discussion series on the New Covenant. My goal is to create dialogue and maybe clear up some confusion about what it really means to live under the New Covenant. The New Covenant is better than the Law, like at literally everything, and yet I find that many in the body of Christ are reluctant to let go of their Old Covenant paradigms for fear that the New Covenant is not strong enough to keep them from sinning. The New Covenant did what the Old never could... it defeated sin once and for all. Join me in this discussion as we unpack the better promises of the New Covenant and discover perhaps in a greater way how perfect and complete the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ really is.

Josh Wypij is a pastor and a recurring guest and friend of the podcast. In this episode we have a raw and real conversation about about cultural trends... more specifically, how God's people haven't done an epic job of responding to the brokenness of people IN LOVE. Josh asked an important question about midway through the discussion: HOW should we respond? This is a really important conversation to me personally because I believe that, as the people of God, we are here on the earth to represent Him well (re-present Him) to people. Every person on this planet... even the ones you don't like... is an image-bearer of God. Just like you. Of course the conversation kind of fell apart at the end and turned into a bunch of nonsense, but hopefully it's at least mildly entertaining. Thank you so much for showing your support for this podcast. Bless you as you listen.

Brit Eaton is back on the podcast to discuss Deconstruction and the modern deconstruction movement within the Christian Church. We believe that it is important to create a safe atmosphere within our churches and communities where people feel empowered to ask questions... especially the difficult ones. Our conversations centered around healthy ways to unpack and examine your beliefs and WHY you believe what you believe as well as destructive ways to deconstruct. As Brit pointed out, "Deconstruction without reconstruction is just destruction" and if you feel that you have a need to dig deeper into unpacking your beliefs, jump in... but keep your eyes fully fixed on Jesus in the process.
