‘Keep Goin’ with Grant Savage’ - A podcast about life, goals and a change in mindset.
This project wouldn’t exist without the influence and my continued fitness training in boxing. Yes you read that right… it even guided me through 2020.
So NOW I’m on a mission to find out how (and why) this happened and along the way I’ll be joined by friends who’ll share their journeys too.
The arts industry has faced challenges over last few years but it has also allowed people to be more creative than ever. Practitioner Mary Hearne joins us to discuss her thriving career combining arts, design and mindfulness.
In life you come across people who may have different interests and paths. But it’s these unique qualities that gives us a chance to chat and discuss how similar your positive mindset can be.
Every athlete has their own story and now Faizan Fariad is here to share his. An amateur boxer from Luton, he has been noted as one to watch and follow!
Since his return to the ring, momentum is now growing and he is now more confident than ever in showing and telling the world what he is all about.
His words and mindset can also be adapted to my journey and hopefully yours too. The Keep Goin’… story is a versatile one, but it’s one that’s getting stronger by the day with the help of people around you.
Good friends tell it you how it is and Elizabeth O is the perfect guest for it.
In episode 10 we discuss first impressions and how things happen for a reason. Sometimes it’s as simple as reflecting with a friend to see how far you have come and the person you were destined to be!
The journey continues as I’m joined by fellow boxing enthusiast and friend Francis Dike. We discuss how this sport has helped with our wellbeing and what’s next in terms of fitness, health, personal goals + more.
Plus this is someone who I’ve physically trained with in the gym, so it will be a good chance to hear his views having first hand experience and more importantly evidence of me actually, you know doing this!
Dallow Amateur Boxing Club in Luton was the first club I joined. Whatever the future holds I will always give credit to the team for taking me in and playing an initial role in this fitness and renewed mindset.
Club Chairman and Coach Mohsin Khan joins me to discuss his role in the club, the art of this sport, what it does for the individual and the clubs goal for the rest of 2021.
Plus what does he think of my progress? After a year apart its good for any coach to see where certain members are at both mentally and physically.
As time goes on I want to find out at least part of the reason why I have remained so committed to this fitness/sport lifestyle and this series.
Is it by chance, a fluke, just something to do, or more? Maybe it’s something inside of me that likes the adrenaline and fun factor of this all?
The perfect person to advise me on this is latest guest Jade Newton-Gardener. A woman who has done it all and tapped into the mindset of young people for most of her career through various media avenues.
Through this she has adapted to the play theory mindset and how all of us should use this understanding to navigate through life both currently and in the future.
Music has pretty much always been my biggest driving force both physically and emotionally. It still remains a huge part of my life and influences my training and work regimes.
Music across all genres has continued to provide people with support throughout the last year. We have all had to get creative in how we consume it and one person who will know the challenges and rewards of this is my special guest DJ Holy!
Listen in as we discuss his impressive career so far and how being in the right place at the right time can help influence our life and career for the better!
Every guest so far has played a unique part in this fitness/sport journey of mine and joining me today is someone who may have given me an extra push just at the right time!
Neylier Walker, a businesswoman, designer, community worker and friend joins me in discussing the art of a friendship and how people from all over can continue to push and inspire us in positive directions -whether we saw it coming or not!
This week I am joined by my trainer and boxer Ahtisham Fariad
Having a good trainer is important for anyones fitness journey, especially in a hard hitting sport like boxing. So I’ve decided to invite mine on and discuss his origins in this sport and what inspires him to fulfil his legacy in boxing.
Plus what does he think of my progress? Am I on the right track… wherever I’m going with this?
Sometimes you’ve got to go back to understand where you came from and where some of the initial seeds were planted in ones journey through life
College was an important turning point for me as a person and I felt that this was a good starting point to see if this new mentality in terms of fitness and structure was evident over a decade ago?
To help me I am reunited with college buddy Rocky Layne. An inspiring actor and pro fighter, he has continued his path and career with greater clarity, thanks to the help of his family, mentors and combat sports.
We discuss all things college, acting, sports, helping the community around us and offer each other advice on the goals we want to achieve in life and more.
This week I am on a mission to get inside the head of a boxing fan. Despite fitness training for well over a year now, I’m still trying to find my place as a fan of the sport. Does it coming naturally? Is it fun? Do I have a fave? When will we be allowed inside arenas again? Serious thoughts!
To help me I’ll be joined by friend and boxing super-fan Kishan Kataria who will share his passion for the sport and give me insight into what a fan wants because it’s all about the fans right? RIGHT?
Throughout any major turning point in ones life it's important to talk to the people that know you best. The people that new you prior to major changes, saw the shifts and understand where you are at now.
What surprises do these conversations have in store? How well do you know one another?
This episode Grant is joined by his friend and illustrator Shireen Headley a.k.a. AvengeRosco. They discuss their longterm friendship and their views on life and the important turning points in their lives during the last year.
