Is online dating worth it? And how can I avoid wasting my time?

When I first delved into the world of online dating, I encountered numerous individuals who seemed to waste my time, leaving me disenchanted with the whole idea of using dating apps. However, as time went on, I came to the realization that the responsibility for determining what I accept or reject lies with me. In all honesty, whether we meet people organically or through online platforms, there will inevitably be a mix of good and not-so-good individuals. Once this revelation dawned on me, I was empowered to establish healthier boundaries and make better choices going forward.

Furthermore, our busy lifestyles often make it challenging to socialize, especially if traditional settings like bars and clubs aren't our preferred scenes. In such cases, online dating offers a convenient way to connect with potential partners and expand our social circles.

Lastly, it's crucial to acknowledge that our attitude towards dating apps can significantly influence our interactions with others. If we approach these platforms with a negative perception, we might inadvertently sabotage our chances of meaningful connections. Sometimes, when we have negative experiences, it's easy to blame the apps themselves, leading to a self-fulfilling prophecy where we expect disappointments and, in turn, encounter them.

In conclusion, online dating can be a worthwhile endeavor if we approach it with an open mind, set clear boundaries, and maintain a positive outlook on the journey to find meaningful connections. Like in any aspect of life, our attitudes and choices play a pivotal role in shaping our experiences.

Let me guess, you haven't had great experiences with online dating. Most people would just continue doing what they always do, hoping for a different outcome but since you're here that means you're ready to change the way you're doing things. So congratulations for actually taking this step! A few years ago I was in the same position as you, looking for answers. Social media paints a very unrealistic expectation on dating and relationships which causes a lot of people to feel unworthy when it doesn't go the way they expect it too. This episode highlights unrealistic vs realistic expectations, the importance of the 3,3,3 rule and things you should STOP doing if you want to have a successful experience moving forward.

So buckle up, take notes and if needed listen to the podcast a few times!

Relationships are not always sunshine and rainbows, everyone brings their own set of baggage that is vitally important to understand before jumping in.  Like everything we choose to do in life, we must always take a step back and ask ourselves if we are ready to hold the key to someone else's heart and acknowledge what we can and can't handle when it comes to our new partners.
