It’s all out war between the Fools and Vat the Bhaalspawn and her minions! She’s just entered her Ravager form, and Vinkee and Finn are in pretty bad shape. And this isn’t even the Final Boss! This is just Episode 176 of DICELORE's BALDUR'S GATE: Eldritch Secrets.
Well, that’s a bunch of dead cultists! Now after a nice long rest, the Damned Fools are ready to face Vat the B’hallspawn in Session 175, Bossfight edition of BALDUR'S GATE: Eldritch Secrets!
Back in the sewers and taunting the Bhaal-spawn, the Fools are ready to fight! And it looks like they’re about to get their wish… in Session 174 of BALDUR'S GATE: Eldritch Secrets!
In Session 66 of The CTHULHU FILES: Masks of Nyarlathotep, Our investigators huddle with the Good Friends of Hilton Adams, preparing to go get the evidence needed to take apart the cult at JuJu House, expose the corruption of the 14th Precinct, and exonerate Hilton before it’s too late!
Freshly armed with a collection of re-considered trifles and a boatload of information from Miriam Atwright (Harvard U Library) and Rebecca Shosenberg (NY Times), the gang is ready to head back to NYC and a final showdown with the Bloody Tongue at JuJu House! Will they get there, in Session 65 of The CTHLUHU FILES, Masks of Nyarlathotep?!
Time spent in Arkham is always… well… awful. And even after his death, our investigators are still dealing with problems caused by Abner Wick’s machinations. But their business here is just about finished, and they only have a couple of threads to follow up on before they’re ready to plan the takedown of JuJu House and the Cult of the Bloody Tongue in NYC. But can they do that, AND save Hilton Adams in Session 64 of DICELORE's The CTHULHU FILES, Masks of Nyarlathotep?
After their final level-up, the now-Level 17 Damned Fools are on the hunt for Vat the Bhall-spawn, in Session 173 of DICELORE's BALDUR'S GATE: Eldritch Secrets!
The battle was harrowing, but the Fools managed to protect Xibalba while her magic sword was reforged. The downside? Apparently she permanently has tentacles for a hand now. But here in Session 172 of BALDUR'S GATE: Eldritch Secrets, the group is ready to enter the endgame to save Baldur’s Gate once and for all!
After meeting with Hilton Adams on death row, our investigators decide on a quick flight up to Boston to follow up on a thread at the Harvard University Library. On the way, they decide to stop in Arkham to check in on Lydia Prime and Gertie, who seem to have gone radio silent. Unfortunately, Lydia2 wrecks their car before they get very far. What else can go wrong in Session 63 of The CTHULHU FILES, Masks of Nyarlathotep?
It’s DICELORE’s FIFTH ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL, and the gang is buzzing as we get together for BEAR HEIST: SOUTHEAST HONEY SYMPOSIUM, run by Marloe!
After a bittersweet Christmas Day spent at the Carlyle Estate, our investigators have learned some things, acquired some new tomes, and made a new friend. Next step… begin planning the takedown of JuJu House and the Bloody Tongue in NYC! All this and more in Session 62 of The CTHULHU FILES, Masks of Nyarlathotep!
It’s a fight in Limbo! The Damned Fools must protect Xibalba at all costs, in Session 171 of DICELORE's BALDUR'S GATE: Eldritch Secrets!
And now it’s off to Limbo for the Damned Fools, in Session 170 of BALDUR'S GATE: Eldritch Secrets. How low can they go?...
In "A Very Cthulhu Christmas," Session 61 of DICELORE's The CTHULHU FILES, Masks of Nyarlathotep... Micheal Harris is dead. Sacrificed to the Chakota in the basement of JuJu House. The team must figure out how to go on…
So, Finn promised his first-born child to a Vampire Lord in the Feywild, and then returned home to discover that Calista is pregnant. Will all the dangers Finn has come through up to now pale in comparison to what’s about to happen at the hands of his wife in Session 169 of BALDUR'S GATE: Eldritch Secrets? This is one of those horrifying things that you just can’t look away from.
Our investigators have had their meeting with Millie Adams, who told them she would arrange for them to get into Sing Sing to visit her husband, Hilton, on death row, the day after Christmas. Things are also getting a bit menacing, as it seems they’re being followed by someone everywhere they go! Now it's Christmas Eve, in Session 60 of The CTHULHU FILES, Masks of Nyarlathotep.
In this, DICELORE’s fifth annual Halloween One-shot, our players are the cast and crew of “Spectre Seekers,” popular YouTube ghost-hunting show. Using modified Honey Heist rules, they look into what appears to be just a run-of-the-mill haunted house. But what fun would that be? [cue maniacal laughter]
Having found Sylvira’s Whisper Wood Bark, the Fools take a long rest, talk about how exactly they’re going to get out of the Fey Realm in time to save Baldur’s Gate, and… LEVEL UP to Level 16, just in time for Session 168 of DICELORE's BALDUR'S GATE: Eldritch Secrets! Also in this session... something bad. Something REALLY bad.
While searching the Feywild for Whisper Bark to take back to Sylvira, Aego went off on his own and was very nearly eaten by a giant Fey crocodile. His friends saved him… but now he has to face the wrath of Vinkee and Xibalba. He may wish to revisit the croc in Session 167 of BALDUR'S GATE: Eldritch Secrets…
After a dramatic kerfuffle at JuJu House, our investigators are on the run until their meeting with Millie Adams. Unfortunately for them, they may have drawn the wrong kind of attention to themselves. Let's find out, in Session 59 of The CTHULHU FILES, Masks of Nyarlathotep!
The trial ended… the mansion overcome… but in Session 166 of BALDUR'S GATE: Eldritch Secrets, the Fools appear to be stranded in the Fey Realm. How will they make it back to the Material Plane in time to save Baldur’s Gate?
The battle with Mandorcai has been terrible and costly… Xibalba has vanished, Aego is down, and others aren’t far behind—in Session 165 of BALDUR'S GATE: Eldritch Secrets.
Professor Finch, as it turns out, is dead—murdered by the Coven of the Watching Eye—and Micheal nearly followed him into oblivion. Now, the gang plans to meet with a New York Times reporter, to gather info and compare notes. Oh, but so much more than that happens in Session 58 of The CTHULHU FILES, Masks of Nyarlathotep!
Though the Black Dragon almost finished them, the Fools survived… but what fresh hell is this? Why, it's Session 164 of DICELORE's BALDUR'S GATE: Eldritch Secrets, that's what!
In Session 57 of DICELORE's The CTHULHU FILES, Masks of Nyarlathotep (America Chapter, Session 18), our investigators are piecing together the strange and suspicious details of the Carlyle Expedition, but each new thread seems to lead to a dozen more…
They found the keys! The Damned Fools found the piano keys! Unfortunately, they also found the Black Dragon… and he brought a friend to Session 163 of DICELORE's BALDUR'S GATE: Eldritch Secrets.
With Xibalba’s sword leading the way, there’s only one key left to find! The Fools are SO CLOSE to (hopefully) acquiring the Living Gate Shard and getting out of Mandorcai’s Mansion, in Session 162 of BALDUR'S GATE: Eldritch Secrets!
Collecting the clues and following the threads that their murdered friend Jackson Elias left behind, our investigators face the biggest test of their time together in Session 56 of DICELORE's The CTHULHU FILES, Masks of Nyarlathotep! Where will all these leads… um… lead?
Everybody hates it in Mandorcai’s Mansion, but there’s nothing for it but to continue on through Session 161 of BALDUR'S GATE: Eldritch Secrets. Another piano key was found in the mirror room… What’s that leave? Two more? Gods help the Damned Fools…
Vinkee is back, but possibly with an unwanted hitchhiker, and the Fools continue their search for the hidden piano keys. Mandorcai’s mansion is just the worst. Come along on this continued trudge through our li'l house of horrors in BALDUR'S GATE: Eldritch Secrets, Session 160!
Our investigators’ arrival in NYC has been eventful from the start, to say the least. But all of the weird happenings have suddenly been overshadowed by the ritual murder of their good friend Jackson Elias, apparently at the hands of the Cult of the Bloody Tongue. What will their next steps be, in Session 55 of DICELORE's The CTHULHU FILES, Masks of Nyarlathotep?!
Xibalba has pulled Aego back from the brink of death! But there are still keys to be found in Mandorcai’s Mansion, and the Damned Fools are running low on resources! Besides all of which… where the hell has Vinkee gone? Find out in Session 159 of BALDUR'S GATE: Eldritch Secrets!
Leaving Arkham behind, our investigators are ready to take a bite out of the Big Apple! (Insert obligatory “before it takes a bite out of them” gag here.) Strap in, kids. Session 54 of DICELORE's The CTHULHU FILES is where “Masks of Nyarlathotep” begins in earnest!
The Damned Fools continue their search through the grotesque, creepy, and tentacle-filled Mandorcai’s Mansion for missing piano keys which they hope will unlock the location of the shard of the Hidden Gate. All this, and near tragedy, in Session 158 of DICELORE's BALDUR'S GATE: Eldritch Secrets!
Mandorcai’s Mansion has become something rather… um… fleshy? Here in Session 157 of BALDUR'S GATE: Eldritch Secrets, the Fools navigate its grossness, searching for the needed shard of the Living Gate.
Having arrived at the gates of Mandorcai’s Mansion in the Fey Realm, Aego and Xibalba settle their differences, and the Fools prepare to face the horrors of this house once more. All in Session 156 of DICELORE's BALDUR'S GATE: Eldritch Secrets!
In the Fey Realm, on their way to Mandorcai’s Mansion, the Damned Fools were sidetracked by a particularly unpleasant Black Dragon. It’s anyone’s guess how Session 155 of BALDUR'S GATE: Eldritch Secrets is going to go...
Wandering through the Fae Realm in Session 154 of BALDUR'S GATE: Eldritch Secrets, the Fools encountered a crow who had quite a startling revelation for them… they needed to go back to where this whole crazy adventure started: Mandorcai’s Mansion—the house of horrors that they’ve never managed to defeat!
Arkham holds many mysteries and horrors, but these days there is one fewer to be encountered. Our investigators have not only survived their battle with the arch-ghoul Abner Wick, they have killed him and his minions. Now, in Session 53 of The CTHULHU FILES, Masks of Nyarlathotep, they will recover and prepare. Next stop: New York City and a reunion with their good friend Jackson Elias!... (IYKYK)
The Damned Fools have one last piece of business to take care of before they set off for the Fae Realm, in search of the Living Gate, here in Session 153 of BALDUR'S GATE: Eldritch Secrets. Hopefully they can do so without inciting the wrath of a certain vampire Archfey…
Time in Candlekeep is winding to a close, and the Damned Fools, it seems, are destined to seek out the Fey Realm, and the legendary Living Gate! Join us for Session 152 of BALDUR'S GATE: Eldritch Secrets!
Deep beneath Arkham’s Unconsidered Trifles shop in the lair of Abner Wick, our investigators fight for their lives. Is Session 52 of The CTHULHU FILES, Masks of Nyarlathotep where they finally meet the monster they cannot overcome?!
And so our investigators prepare to enact their elaborate plan to rid Arkham of the ghoul Abner Wick and his minions, in Session 51 of DICELORE's The CTHULHU FILES, Masks of Nyarlathotep...
A course of action takes shape in Session 151 of BALDUR'S GATE: Eldritch Secrets, as the Damned Fools continue their research in Candlekeep. It’s becoming clear that saving Baldur’s Gate from either Bhaal’s machinations or the Gith dragon raid may be a suicide mission… One that the Fools are prepared to accept.
In Session 150 of DICELORE's BALDUR'S GATE: Eldritch Secrets, research continues in Candlekeep, but time is running out for Baldur’s Gate. The Damned Fools have less than a tenday to stop the Gith “cleansing” by dragonfire.
And so the plan to kill a ghoul is formed... Is Session 50 of The CTHULHU FILES, Masks of Nyarlathotep the end for Abner Wick?
Session 149 of DICELORE's BALDUR'S GATE: Eldritch Secrets is a deep dive into some serious lore, as the Damned Fools cram for the big (boss fight) exam at Candlekeep!
The Fools have convinced Roridas to give them a tenday before the Gith ride their red dragons into Baldur’s Gate to cleanse it of the Mindflayer plague. So they plan a trip to Candlekeep to learn what they can do (if anything) to combat Bhaal—the Lord of Murder—and his machinations... This is Session 148 of BALDUR'S GATE: Eldritch Secrets.
Rocco has, at least for now, gained another rat! But curses persist to plague our protagonists. And it seems an ultimate confrontation with Abner Wick is on the horizon, here in Session 49 of The CTHULHU FILES, Masks of Nyarlathotep.
Session 147 of DICELORE's BALDUR'S GATE: Eldritch Secrets. The worst has come to pass. Duke Ulder Ravengard has been murdered by Bhaal’s daughter; the Gith are on the brink of bringing dragons to bear to burn Baldur’s Gate to the ground; and the Damned Fools have no idea what to do about any of it…
After an emotionally charged ending that saw the Damned Fools defeat the Ulitharid, they were suddenly confronted with Bhaal himself, Lord of Murder! Bhaal gave them an ultimatum: their freedom in exchange for a death. Xibalba volunteered, but Aego remembered the feather Zauriel had given them to summon her in an hour of need—and summon her they did! She arrived to confront the evil one, and as the Fools fled, she made the ultimate sacrifice to save them. But Bhaal, laughing, issued one more decree: One of three people they hold dear was going to die. It was up to them to choose which two they were going to save in Session 146 of DICELORE's BALDUR'S GATE: Eldritch Secrets!
Elaine is healed of her curses! What’s next for our intrepid investigators? Don't miss the spooky shenanigans in this, Session 48 of DICELORE's The CTHULHU FILES, Masks of Nyarlathotep!
Beaten down and spread thin, the Damned Fools continue their battle against the Ulitharid in its lair. They’re holding their own… so far. Will they make it through Session 145 of BALDUR'S GATE: Eldritch Secrets?

Fully rested and ready to go, the Fools head into Session 141 of DICELORE's BALDUR'S GATE: Eldritch Secrets with one thing on their agenda—find and eliminate the Ulitharid still lurking in its caverns beneath the city. Unfortunately, their refresh doesn't last long...
In Session 46 of The CTHULHU FILES: Masks of Nyarlathotep (Part 7 of the America Chapter), our intrepid investigators finish perusing in Abner Wick's Unconsidered Trifles, and head off to see about removing the cursed Peruvian scales that have grown upon Elaine.

In Session 108 of BALDUR'S GATE: ELDRITCH SECRETS, the Damned Fools go looking for their lost friend and Cleric, Stedd Threshing. Surely our heroes will reunite and everything will be exactly as it was before!
In Session 3 of DICELORE's THURSDAY'S CHILDREN—Vaesen Mythic Britain & Ireland actual play, our investigators return to finish the fight with the evil Revenant. How will they overcome his supernatural powers of raging hatred? Maybe... with a brick?
In Session 107, DESCENT into AVERNUS transitions into BALDUR'S GATE: ELDRITCH SECRETS. The Damned Fools are now faced with picking up their lives back in Baldur's Gate... and beginning the search for Stedd!
Our investigators face down their very first Vaesen monster, in "The Revenant," Session 2 of DICELORE's THURSDAY'S CHILDREN—Vaesen: Mythic Britain & Ireland!
The Damned Fools succeeded in their mission to save Elturel and Baldur's Gate from Avernus. But what comes next? This is sort of a "Session Zero," if you will, where the cast discuss where their characters have been and where they might be headed. DESCENT into AVERNUS has ended. But the ASCENT out of AVERNUS has led to new beginnings!
And so, with Session 106, we've reached the end. The Damned Fools have saved Zariel, and by extension Elturel, Baldur's Gate, and quite possibly the rest of the material plane and every life in it! So, where do they go from here? Because, my friends... though their DESCENT into AVERNUS is complete, their journey together is far from over...
Zariel, Archduke of Avernus, finds the Damned Fools, and they have one shot to convince her to take up her sword and re-ascend to her Celestial status. How will they save the world? Maybe with a little ol' fashioned Boy Band performance? You are... my fire... This is Session 105 of DICELORE's DESCENT into AVERNUS!
In Session One of THURSDAY'S CHILDREN: Mythic Britain & Ireland, entitled "Norrington Street," our Society members explore the house and grounds, solve a ghost cat's riddle, and prepare to take on their first big supernatural threat!
In Session 104 of DICELORE's DESCENT into AVERNUS, the Fools fight the most massive horde of enemies, demonic or otherwise, that they've ever seen! This fight goes from start to finish, and ends with...
Welcome to Session 0 of THURSDAY'S CHILDREN: Vaesen Mythic Britain & Ireland! Here we begin the tale of Thursday’s Children, investigators who have been gifted with “The Sight,” allowing them to see Vaesen… beings of legend and lore which are invisible to most humankind.
In Session 103 of DESCENT into AVERNUS, the Damned Fools begin their rescue of fallen Elturel. But things look bad right off the bat. And they're poised to get worse. Stedd, where are you?!
The Fools are getting close! With Elturel in sight, the Bloodwar rages all around. But what the heck is Finn up to? DICELORE's DESCENT into AVERNUS cruises through Session 102 toward the grand finale!
In this DICEMORE episode, Hailey & Lee travel once more to Undermere, a quaint town surrounded by hag-infested forests and rugged mountains, to wrap up the mysteries of STRANGE HORTICULTURE, an occult puzzle game in which you play as the proprietor of a local plant store.
This chapter of the Cthulhu Files saga comes to a close as we head into hiatus... but not before blood is spilled and an old adversary emerges from the void. All in this episode of The CTHULHU FILES, Session Five of Casefile Five: Pandora's Box.
No one knows what, exactly, became of either Crokek’toeck or Stedd, but the Damned Fools must continue their trek to end Avernus' hold on Elturel. In Session 101 of DESCENT into AVERNUS, they grind ever closer, and get into some... interesting (read: suggestive; possibly of a rather adult nature)... topics of discussion along the way.
In this prequel to "The Phthisis of the Apollo" Halloween one-shot, a group of ordinary shopkeepers on the space city luxury liner Apollo get to experience the outbreak of the alien infection that wreaked so much havoc in Phthisis! Will any of our mild mannered every-people live to see the infection in its full, gory glory? Find out in DICELORE's The ATROPHY of the APOLLO!
We have arrived! It's Session 100 of DICELORE's DESCENT into AVERNUS campaign, and oooh, big stuff happens. A threat once thought avoided catches up to the Damned Fools, and hell claims a victim (for real this time). Things look bleak for our crew going forward. Will they make it through Session 101?
In the landmark 99th Session of DICELORE's DESCENT into AVERNUS, the gang is headed toward a meetup with good ol' Mordenkainen the Wizard, when suddenly a Spelljammer drops in out of nowhere and they find themselves quickly avenging yet another character death. Good thing they have a Cleric!
The leads (and the danger) begin to pile up as our heroes inch closer to finding the missing artifact, in Session 4 of DICELORE's The CTHULHU FILES—Casefile 5: Pandora's Box.
Zariel is met! The sword is claimed! And now the final stage of the Damned Fools' time in hell begins. All in Session 98 of DICELORE's DESCENT into AVERNUS.
In Session 97 of DICELORE's DESCENT into AVERNUS, the Damned Fools face their greatest challenge yet... and not everyone survives.
After vanquishing the bandits, the Silent 3 check back in with the Tallfellow clan, then head on up the road to Waterdeep or whatever awaits. This is Session 21 of LEGENDS of the SILENT 3.
They've laid eyes upon it! Zariel's Sword awaits... but first, enjoy these brief messages from a battle in the past, in which the Damned Fools are destined to fight. But it's only a dream... right? Yes, it's combat, combat, and more combat, in Session 96 of DESCENT into AVERNUS!
Yet again, DICEMORE sees Hailey & Lee travel back to Undermere, a quaint town surrounded by hag-infested forests and rugged mountains, to play STRANGE HORTICULTURE, an occult puzzle game in which you play as the proprietor of a local plant store.
In Session 95 of DICELORE's DESCENT into AVERNUS, the Damned Fools fight for their lives at the gates of the Bleeding Citadel. Legend says that Zariel's Sword lies just beyond the massive golden portals... but the infernal denizens of "the Scab" are determined to keep our heroes out at all costs.
At Madam Pandora's Palace, our heroes meet some interesting characters, and muddle about trying to get a lead on where to find the missing Pandora's Box! In Session 3 of DICELORE's The CTHULHU FILES: Casefile 5: Pandora's Box.
In this DICEMORE podcast (where we play things other than our usual ttrpg campaigns) Hailey & Lee travel back to Undermere, a quaint town surrounded by hag-infested forests and rugged mountains, to play STRANGE HORTICULTURE, an occult puzzle game in which you play as the proprietor of a local plant store.
In Session 94 of DICELORE's DESCENT into AVERNUS, there is much exploration, planning, and of course, danger. This is, after all, the prelude to the climax, is it not? Yup, that sounds like foreplay to me.
On the road to Waterdeep, the Silent 3 find some unexpected hospitality... and some payback! This is Session 20 of Legends of the Silent 3.
In DICELORE's DESCENT into AVERNUS, Session #93 sees the Damned Fools delve deeper into the depths of the dirty, disgusting, Bleeding Citadel. Even in the midst of combat, gross stuff happens.
In Session Two of DICELORE's The CTHULHU FILES, Casefile 5: Pandora's Box, our investigators find a little bit of everything! Shopping, strange forbidden knowledge, investigation, and vermin! Not necessarily in that order.
Yay! The Damned Fools have arrived at the Bleeding Citadel, where they will most likely find the object of their quest—the Sword of Zariel! Oh, wait a minute... ew... this place is... oh gods... it's DISGUSTING! Oh no. Oh no. Oh no. Also, vagina jokes. So many vagina jokes. In Episode 92 of DESCENT into AVERNUS.
Wrapping things up at the Crypt of the Hellriders, the Damned Fools and their new ghostly companion, Lenore, head off for the Bleeding Citadel, wherein is said to lie the legendary Sword of Zariel! Also, there's cuddling. And perhaps another level is attained? All in Session 91 of DICELORE's DESCENT into AVERNUS!
It's big ol' Session 90 of DESCENT into AVERNUS, and the Damned Fools are FINALLY one step closer to the Sword of Zariel. On their way back to the Crypt of the Hellriders, they try out some of their new powers... but in all the excitement, will they remember what they need to do next?
In Session 19 of DICELORE's LEGENDS of the SILENT 3, our heroes decide to avoid the shenanigans that seem to be building in Daggerford, and set out walking the road to Waterdeep. Unfortunately for them, they seem to attract shenanigans wherever they go. Let's hope they've at least brought some cold weather gear to camp out in!
The Arches of Ulloch are finally reached, and heroes portal off in different directions... The next level of DICELORE's DESCENT into AVERNUS is reached, for better or worse! All this and more, right here in Session 89.
Some... interesting topics of conversation are raised in Session 88 of DICELORE's DESCENT into AVERNUS. Plus, there's driving and hunting and fighting and what's that?! Could it possibly be the Arches of Ulloch?!
In Session 18 of DICELORE's LEGENDS of the SILENT 3, a few nights in Daggerford lead to shopping, more shopping, and some intriguing puzzle pieces being laid out surely leading to adventure. After all, isn't that why we're all here?
Finally! The end of the endless voyage is in sight... but wait, what's that? Now our heroes don't want to GET OFF THE SHIP?!?! Hm... perhaps this WON'T end up being Session 1 of The CTHULHU FILES, Casefile 5: Pandora's Box.
In Session 13 of The CTHULHU FILES, Casefile 4: Slow Boat to China—Delores forecasts, Elaine sings, Rocco eats, Lydia magicks, and Micheal extinguishes. Has the Crawling One met his match?
Xibalba and Vinkee seek a personal connection with their respective special weapons, and it leads to a fiend hunt to satiate good ol' Kyton's Leash. Also, Aego has a... wardrobe malfunction. All in Session 87 of DESCENT into AVERNUS.
Oh, boy. Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy. It seems Finn the Halfling Bard has finally done it. Encountering an ad hoc tribunal of devils, the Damned Fools are forced to atone for their actions last session. In Session 86 of DESCENT into AVERNUS, things go bad. Can anyone save the day?
Vulture-mounted hedge knights, too much ale, corpses turning into logs, and weird magic apples... all this and more in Session 17 of DICELORE's LEGENDS of the SILENT 3!
Progress? What's progress? Just when the Damned Fools think they're back on track to get to the Arches of Ulloch, enemies interrupt another long rest and they hop in the Demon Grinder to get away. However, they end up getting attacked by both their pursuer and the hitchhiker that jumped aboard trying to escape! And of course, Finn gets himself into deep trouble before it's all said and done. All in Session 85 of DICELORE's DESCENT into AVERNUS!
It's Session 12 of The CTHULHU FILES, Casefile 4: Slow Boat to China, where our heroes' time at sea seems to be coming to a close. Their confrontation with the Crawling One seemed to go fairly well, aside from a little zombie damage to Rocco & Elaine. Now... to find the Book of Red Jade and put this thing to bed once and for all!
In this DICEMORE podcast (where we play things other than our usual ttrpg campaigns) Hailey & Lee travel to Undermere, a quaint town surrounded by hag-infested forests and rugged mountains, to play STRANGE HORTICULTURE, an occult puzzle game in which you play as the proprietor of a local plant store.
In an attempt to overcome the stifling heatwave, Finn polymorphs into a quetzalcoatlus and flies Vinkee & Stedd up, up, up into the atmosphere. About 8,000 feet up, to be precise. The heat doesn't end there, but there is lightning, so... not better. But the Damned Fools push on, ever diligent in their quest to reach the Arches of Ulloch in pursuit of Zariel's Sword. Also, there are demons. This and more, in Session 84 of DICELORE's DESCENT into AVERNUS.
In Session 11 of The CTHULHU FILES, Casefile 4: Slow Boat to China, our heroes get to the bottom—literally—of a huge chunk of the mystery they've been investigating... and while they don't have all the answers, they appear to have made significant strides toward thwarting whatever evil machinations may have been in the works. All they have to do now is tie up some loose ends. They totally have nothing left to worry about. ...Totally.
The slow crawl toward Shanghai and/or madness resumes in Session 10 of THE CTHULHU FILES, Casefile Four: Slow Boat to China. Fresh off a wonderful (at first) and horrifying (ultimately) diversion in Honolulu, the SS President Coolidge, with our heroes aboard, is back on the high seas. It takes our gang a little while to get back in the swing of things, investigation-wise, but the lower decks are calling. And calling... and calling. Who will answer?
The Damned Fools are struck with a sudden heatwave, causing exhaustion and extreme discomfort. Aego uses Sending to reach out to some past associates, seeking advice. But when spells start going strangely awry, it becomes clear some other force is at work here. The confrontation that ensues has potentially devastating consequences. Also, Vinkee's whip continues to draw her deeper into its thrall. All this and more, in Session 83 of DICELORE's DESCENT into AVERNUS.
In Session 16 of DICELORE's LEGENDS of the SILENT 3, we find our heroes in that peculiar aether where one chapter of their story ends and blends into the next...
Finally on the road again, the Damned Fools drive and drive and drive some more, before being accosted by some surprisingly hardy foes from the sky. Combat! Finally! This and more, in Session 82 of DESCENT into AVERNUS.
How can you tell it's Session Nine of DICELORE's The CTHULHU FILES, Casefile Four: Slow Boat to China? Because the SS President Coolidge has docked in Honolulu, halfway to Shanghai, and our heroes get to enjoy some much needed R&R on the island with good ol' Doc Feelgood, an original character from our first casefile, "The Crimson Letters". Sightseeing, shopping, and a full luau await. Surely nothing bad could happen here... right?
DESCENT into AVERNUS, Session 81 sees the Damned Fools spend the last two days of downtime at Fort Knucklebone, as modifications to their Demon Grinder are completed. Lots more RP, lots more Cleric spells, lots more dysfunction and character growth! Next stop... Arches of Ulloch?
In Session 15 of DICELORE's LEGENDS of the SILENT 3, our heroes reach the end of their first chapter, the Sunless Citadel. What might the final battle hold? Victory? Fallen comrades? TPK?
Another go-around at Mad Maggie's results in a lot of new information, thanks to Stedd's "Commune" and "Legend Lore" abilities. Plus, Vinkee learns a lot about infernal vehicle repair. All this and the usual roleplay that makes the Damned Fools so damned lovable, in Session 80 of DICELORE's DESCENT into AVERNUS!
The Damned Fools are still stuck at Fort Knucklebone as they await an estimate from Mad Maggie's mechanics on upgrading their infernal vehicle. In the meantime, they have a lot to talk about... Oh, do they have a lot to talk about! The fun awaits in Session 79 of DICELORE's DESCENT into AVERNUS!
In Session 14 of DICELORE's LEGENDS of the SILENT 3, our heroes plumb deeper into the depths of the Sunless Citadel, uncovering more and more evidence that goblinoids aren't the worst the place has to offer. Somewhere, not too far away, an evil Druid or two are lurking... Plus, Erith says the F word. Repeatedly.
Finally making their way to Fort Knucklebone, the Damned Fools have some dealings with Mad Maggie, as well as some internal strife (as all families do). Who could be at the center of the drama this time? Find out in Session 78 of DESCENT into AVERNUS!
More suspects come to light as our heroes pull threads and follow leads in their investigation into the murder of Dr. Soong's companion, and the theft of his Book of Red Jade. And as Elaine prepares for her big performance at the Tahitian Ball, something sinister simmers beneath the surface. Before all is said and done, will the gang come face-to-face with what's at the black heart of it all? Find out in The CTHULHU FILES, Session Eight of Casefile Four: Slow Boat to China!
In Part II of DICELORE's epic sci-fi horror one-shot, The PHTHISIS of the APOLLO, the dwindling crew of the Albatross gets closer to answers about the infection/infestation of the giant space cruise-liner they're trapped aboard. But does closer to answers mean closer to death?...
DICELORE's The CTHULHU FILES Casefile Four: Slow Boat to China steams ever onward and into Session Seven, where we find our heroes continuing to investigate murder and theft, whilst evils beyond their ken continue to froth and fester in the shadows.
With Fort Knucklebone in sight, much is revealed in a conversation with Lulu about her nature and capabilities. But suddenly, a giant meteor streaks through the sky and impacts nearby! As the Damned Fools investigate, a great flaming stone golem rises from the crater, and a massive battle ensues! Can Finn the Halfling Bard survive as he tries his hand at being the party's tank? Find out in Session 77 of DICELORE's DESCENT into AVERNUS!
In Session 13 of DICELORE's LEGENDS of the SILENT 3, the Sunless Citadel keeps belching forth enemies for our heroes to deal with. Are they EVER going to find their quarry?
Continuing the trek to find Mad Maggie and collect what she owes them, the Damned Fools cross paths with what seems to be an infernal bounty hunter, intent on taking Lulu from them at any cost. This, and all kinds of pairing-off-to-take-watch-during-long-rest conversations, in Session 76 of DESCENT into AVERNUS!
Part I of DICELORE's epic sci-fi horror one-shot, The PHTHISIS of the APOLLO, finds the space pirate crew of the Albatross discovering a distress beacon emanating from the long-missing super cruise-liner The Apollo. What could have caused the massive city-sized ship to be adrift out here in empty space? Is it worth looting? Is it the last thing they'll ever do?...
In Session Six of DICELORE's The CTHULHU FILES Casefile Four: Slow Boat to China, the murder of Dr. Soong's manservant sets our heroes on an investigative path to find the killer, who is also presumably the thief of Dr. Soong's "Book of Red Jade," a Mythos tome of great information and power. Where, oh where will pulling this thread lead them?...
In Session 75 of DICELORE's DESCENT into AVERNUS, the Damned Fools arrive at the River Styx and seek to book passage on a ferry. But will the price be too high? Speaking of exacting a toll, what the heck is the weird symbiosis that's developed between Vinkee and her whip?
In Session 12 of LEGENDS of the SILENT 3, our heroes face down the "Dragon Priest," enjoy a little downtime, and descend further into the depths of the Sunless Citadel. Y'know, just a normal Friday night.
After defeating the teeny tiny infant baby widdle white dragon, our heroes continue on through the Sunless Cidatel, reuniting with Meepo the Kobold and trying to find a path to the levels below where the goblins be. Spoiler: SOMEONE in the party dies in this, Session 11 of LEGENDS of the SILENT 3.
Let's see... what vices can our heroes indulge in during Session Five of The CTHULHU FILES Casefile Four: Slow Boat to China? Gambling... drinking... deception... skullduggery... trespassing... murder... Wait a minute, did you say MURDER?! As in, THEY murder someone? Aren't they supposed to be HEROES?! Well... it's complicated.
There they go again! After their epic fight, the Damned Fools hit the road, having interrogated the dead and picked the corpses clean. Charting a course in the direction of the River Styx, they're looking for Mad Maggie or the Arches of Ulloch, whichever comes first. Obviously, nothing weird or dangerous happens to them during Session 74 of DICELORE's DESCENT into AVERNUS. Right?
In the aftermath of perhaps their greatest combat conflict yet, the Damned Fools start looting corpses and grilling the dead for information... It turns out to be quite lucrative, on all fronts! Find out what gains they make in Session 73 of DESCENT into AVERNUS!
It's a smackdown, face-to-face with an infant white dragon, will the Silent 3 be up to the task? Will they have it in them to even fight? I mean, what kind of monsters fight a baby? Due to technical issues, Session 10 of LEGENDS of the SILENT 3 was unfortunately cut short, but not before the encounter DID get resolved!
The sudden appearance of a time-traveling stranger—and the unfortunate baggage that comes with that—leads our heroes to the realization that, even locked in a cell, Alex Hubbard may be more dangerous than they suspected. But with help from Dr. Soong, they may have hatched a plan to deal with that particular problem. If only Alex Hubbard were the sole threat to their existence. All this and more, in The CTHULHU FILES, Session Four of Casefile Four: Slow Boat to China
In Session 72 of DICELORE's DESCENT into AVERNUS, the hunt for Zariel's Sword gets real as the Damned Fools—simply driving along, minding their own business—are set upon by a devilish biker gang intent on grinding them into dust. As if that weren't bad enough, their old enemy Amrick Vanthampur (in infernal form) reappears to beat the living snot out of Aego, pretty much exclusively. Will Vinkee stand for such rude treatment of her betrothed? In one of the most combat-heavy episodes of DiA yet, our heroes really start to synergize as a team. It only took 72 sessions!
Little-known fact: Leaving the dungeon and heading back to town for a long rest is a great way to make all the goblins completely disappear! Or is it? While our heroes are working out that mystery, they may or may not finally chance upon that Red Dragon we've been hearing so much about. All in Session 9 of LEGENDS of the SILENT 3!
Six desperados set out to rob the train to Hell. Yee-haw! Saddle up and ride along, ya filthy varmint.
THE GREAT SOUL TRAIN ROBBERY by Cloven Pine Games, based on the Honey Heist system, is available at https://cloven-pine-games.itch.io/the-great-soul-train-robbery
Our li'l group has been playing D&D online together for two whole years, and we celebrate by talking about where we've been, where we're going, and finally by playing a one-shot of "The Great Soul Train Robbery" (also available to listen to as its own episode, because we do A LOT of talkin' before we get to it here). We hope you've enjoyed all our exploits as much as we have, and that you'll stick around for the next two years and beyond! Lots more ttrpg fun to come!
Having finally freed Calista & Herzen from the slave traders, the Damned Fools are ready to get back on the trail of Zariel's Sword to save Elturel, Baldur's Gate, and the world! Right? Uh... well, first they have to get their car out of the shop. And OOH! what about haircuts? Let's have a spa day! Whee! There's always time to save the world tomorrow. All this and more in Session 71 of DICELORE's DESCENT into AVERNUS.
Aww. It's reunion time on Session 70 of DESCENT into AVERNUS! The Fools have rescued Finn's wife Calista and Reya's comrade Herzen from the clutches of the slave market. What comes next? How about some reconciliation, reconnection, relationship restoration, and... shopping!
Oh, my goodness. Things look dire for our five heroes of the Three. I mean, they knew they were heading into a pretty big goblin encounter, but this? This... this... well, this—Session 8—isn't the LAST episode of DICELORE's LEGENDS of the SILENT 3. But let's just say that Session 9 has the potential to be a REALLY short one.
GRAPHIC CONTENT WARNING—DESCRIPTIONS OF GORE & SELF-HARM
It's Session 69! DICELORE's DESCENT into AVERNUS turns everyone on their heads as the Damned Fools try to deal with the fallout of letting Feonor the Warlord keep Aego and Reya on the drive back to Mahadi's traveling bazaar. Everyone expected the worst, but what ultimately happens is still a total shock. It's safe to say no one saw it coming...
Clearing all the kobolds and goblins out of a dungeon is hard work, and the Silent 3 are being very thorough about it! In Session 7 of DICELORE's LEGENDS of the SILENT 3, they poke around some more, do a little killin', and discover something they—regrettably—are going to have to deal with...
As the SS President Coolidge. churns across the Pacific toward Honolulu, our heroes are torn between investigating the vaguely puzzling but not-necessarily-threatening goings-on regarding the disappearance of Chadwick Peterson, and simply enjoying themselves and all the amenities available on a luxury cruise. Soon though, the illusion of choice will be dispelled by the machinations of Elder Gods and the very Mythos herself. Y'know, just like for all of us. Enjoy Session 13 of The CTHULHU FILES, in Session Three of Casefile Four: Slow Boat to China.
After days of pursuit, the Damned Fools finally catch up to Feonor in her Golden Doom. All set to deliver Mahadi's message and convince the warlord to return with them in order to rescue Finn's beloved and Reya's comrade-in-arms from the slave traders, they hit... well... a snag, shall we say? What is the price of achieving their goal, and are they willing to pay it? Immerse yourself in the moral quandary in this, Session 68 of DICELORE's DESCENT into AVERNUS.
The Fools set out on a side quest to find a Rakshasa's long-lost love, in order to save Finn's wife (who knew he was married?!) and one of Reya's former comrades from slave traders. All the while, Aego's newfound affection for Vinkee tests her patience (and everyone else's gag reflexes). All this and more, in Session 67 of DICELORE's DESCENT into AVERNUS!
On their second day at sea, the heroes of The CTHULHU FILES encounter ever-mounting strangeness aboard the SS President Coolidge. But who would expect anything less? Session Two of Casefile Four: Slow Boat to China almost makes one wonder... can this group ever just have a normal day?
Session 66 of DICELORE's DESCENT into AVERNUS is one for the ages. As Xibalba and Reya go shopping at the magical traveling bazaar and try to sell off some excess items, Vinkee and Stedd spend some time together at the barber. Meanwhile, Aego and Finn have a chat, ultimately culminating in Aego's very public, over-the-top declaration of love for Vinkee. But when an unexpected reunion occurs, the Damned Fools need to make some hard decisions.
When you're on an ocean liner, the people you meet are the people you're stuck with for the duration. Some are perfectly lovely, while others are... the kind you'd like to cast a spell on to make their lungs magically fill with seawater until they drown on dry land. And then there are the people who vanish in the middle of the night leaving behind an empty set of clothes filled with cockroaches. Session One of The CTHULHU FILES Casefile Four: "Slow Boat to China" has it all!
It's Session 6 of LEGENDS of the SILENT 3! Amidst some trouble with kobolds, the 3 reach Level 2 (all five of them)! But... will it be enough to keep them alive in the Sunless Citadel?
In Session 65 of DICELORE's DESCENT into AVERNUS campaign, the Damned Fools are about to leave the Hellriders' Crypt when who should show up but Olanthius himself! A trial-by-combat ensues, and someone does indeed die, but probably not who you'd expect. No, the fate of that character takes instead a quite unexpected turn indeed! The future of the Damned Fools has been re-routed through some intriguing new terrain...
Heading straight from Xibalba's planar dreamscape to the crypt of the Hellriders, the Damned Fools inch ever closer to the Bleeding Citadel. But is their quest cursed? Somewhere in Session 64 of DESCENT into AVERNUS, the outlook becomes terrifyingly bleak for one of our heroes...
In DICELORE's DESCENT into AVERNUS, Session 63, Xibalba the Dragonborn Warlock seems to have been summoned to some alternate plane, and she has brought the Damned Fools along with her! But what she finds there may not be what she's expecting... Will she finally meet her mysterious patron face-to-face? Or do other, greater dangers await?
In Session 5 of LEGENDS of the SILENT 3, our heroes continue to explore the Sunless Citadel. More goblins? Nope! But let's see what's inside these sarcophagi...
As the Damned Fools inch ever closer to finding the Sword of Zariel, our dear Xibalba begins having dreams and visions leading her toward discovering more about her patron and the source of her Warlock powers! As an added bonus, a little bit of auto repair. All in Session 62 of DICELORE's DESCENT into Avernus!
In Session 4 of DICELORE's LEGENDS of the SILENT 3, our adventuring party continues scouring the Sunless Citadel for signs of the missing explorers. But the place is lousy with goblins, and after a short rest to get a second wind, they know there are probably more on the way. How will our poor Level 1 heroes get through this meat grinder?
This session of The CTHULHU FILES finds our heroes finally making their way to Mammoth, Arizona, where Professor Finch's fancy new headquarters may reside. They find it with very little trouble, but what happens once they're there is... well... perhaps not a complete surprise, but certainly a shock in many ways. And as a result, the investigative team is reduced by one...
Can you say, "COMBAT!"? We can't, because we're too exhausted from all the friggin' combat. Session 61 of DICELORE's DESCENT into AVERNUS picks up with a band of devils attempting to arrest the Damned Fools for alleged crimes against hell or some such bogus charges. The Fools politely decline. Carnage ensues. Plus, Xibalba and Aego finally have that talk Aego's been trying to avoid. Carnage ensues...
O.M.Z. (Oh my Zariel)... The Damned Fools sure are on a run. In Session 60 of DESCENT into AVERNUS, combat with a Bone Devil takes one of our heroes right up to the edge and then... well, you'll just have to listen to find out. Hopefully, they've got a trick up their sleeves to get out of this one!
Between official casefiles, our heroes uncover and decipher a secret message leading them to Professor Finch's new headquarters. Now, all they have to do is drive there! Nothing bad ever happens on a long road trip, right? (Cue theme from "Jaws" music) This is DICELORE's The CTHULHU FILES.
It's Session 59 of DESCENT into AVERNUS! Off in search of an Arch-devil with a mirror the Damned Fools go, albeit with a slight complication. The strange little clockwork eye creature that appeared last session to follow Xibalba around has aroused Aego's suspicion, to the point where he really thinks they should destroy it. Getting Finn in on the plan wasn't hard, but Xibalba seems to have taken to the little chap, going so far as to name it "Ted." So Aego has the bright idea to CHARM his Dragonborn friend. Wonder how THAT is gonna turn out?
Deep in a chasm, the Silent 3 have located the Sunless Citadel. After a harrowing battle with some giant rats, the 3 are ready to explore deeper in search of their objectives. But Session 3 of LEGENDS of the SILENT 3 has its own ideas. Well, Max the DM does, anyway. How will these poor level 1 characters fare?...
Sallying forth from the tower of Mordenkainen the Mage, the Damned Fools soon find themselves at the towering obelisk of yet another wizard, one whom Mordenkainen bade them visit. But the hapless conjurer seems to have gotten himself trapped within some standing stones. Should the Fools help to set him free? Hey, in the previous 57 sessions of DESCENT into AVERNUS, when has randomly helping a stranger ever turned out poorly for them?
In the climactic Session 4 of DICELORE's The CTHULHU FILES, Casefile 3: Waiting for the Hurricane, our heroes do their best to interrupt the Esoteric Order of Dagon's plan to cast a Wave of Oblivion spell aimed at destroying Key West and killing everyone there. What happens therein is nothing short of game-changing, in so many ways. No one emerges unscathed, some barely emerge at all, and others emerge... well... different. Yeah, that's it. "Different."
With some help from a newfound friend (who happens to be a rather put-upon bearded devil), the Damned Fools manage to find their way to a certain iron tower, wherein they spend most of DESCENT into AVERNUS Session 57 talking to a certain mage of renown. Whether that conversation was helpful to them at all remains to be seen. But at least they safely delivered the package Mad Maggie warned them not to open!
In Session 2 of LEGENDS of the SILENT 3, the group stops for directions and takes on a new member before continuing north in their search for the place known as the Sunless Cidatel.
After Vinkee & Finn were charmed and turned into weapons of friend destruction, the Damned Fools thought Mad Maggie might be able to sort them out. But, with Vinkee trying to navigate at less than 100%, the were unable to find their way back to Fort Knucklebone. So Session 56 of DESCENT into AVERNUS begins with a long, long rest, followed by a little directional help from Lulu, and some Bearded Devils in lake of demon ichor. Just a normal Monday evening.
In Session 3 of The CTHULHU FILES, Casefile 3: Waiting for the Hurricane, our heroes leave the Grand Hotel to head out into the Key West storm. Using the hotel's station wagon, Rocco expertly drives them to the police station, where they find... well... "carnage" is probably the kindest word. But answers are there as well! They not only learn exactly what is happening, but who is behind it, and more! Plus, Lance gets to skulk around and kill some people. Which, y'know, is what you want from your archaeologist types.
Hooooo boy! This one's a doozy. In Session 55 of DICELORE's DESCENT into AVERNUS campaign, the Damned Fools pick up a hitch-hiker whilst rolling through hell, and the "always do good" instincts of certain of their number leads to Reya to becoming involved in a card game for the poor chap's soul. The card game was treacherous enough but it all went rapidly downhill from there! Can you say, "Total Party Self-Kill"?
PLEASE NOTE: AUDIO DIFFICULTIES THROUGHOUT
…And so a new campaign unrolls! DM Max Schrenk leads the journey through Tales from the Yawning Portal: The Sunless Citadel. Thus begins the LEGENDS of the SILENT 3!
Well, that wasn't so bad. Session 54 of DESCENT into AVERNUS finds the Damned Fools still inside the Hell Wasps' nest, trying desperately to find Lulu before the infernal insects do something horrible to the sweet little Holyphaunt. Because deep in the walls of the hive, the wasps do keep a terrible secret, which the Fools find out the hard way...
A lovely little information-gathering jaunt to the Florida Keys takes an ominous turn, at least weather-wise, as our heroes arrive with a storm at their backs. Literally everything quickly goes downhill from there, in The CTHULHU FILES, Casefile Three: Waiting for the Hurricane, Session Two.
After the massive conflict on Haruman's Hill, all the poor Damned Fools want to do is take a short rest and heal up a little. Wouldn't you know it, though, a pack of Hell Wasps have taken up residence on their vehicle. Would it be redundant to say that, at that point, all hell breaks loose? Buckle your seatbelts, kids. Session 53 of DESCENT into AVERNUS gets bumpy.
Professor Finch gathers the heroes together once more to send them off on another investigation with cosmic implications, in Session One of DICELORE's The CTHULHU FILES, Casefile Three: Waiting for the Hurricane. In this, the craziest episode yet, there's driving, hijinx, and yes... shopping!
After Aego tries to figure out what the heck he did to make Xibalba so mad, the gang takes their brand new Infernal Machine and goes in search of the Sword of Zariel, following Lulu's directions. What they find instead is... well, it's Session 52 of DESCENT into AVERNUS, is what it is!
As a group of were-beings tried to run the Damned Fools down, our heroes managed to not only defeat the raiders (while getting their Tormentor vehicle split in half, unfortunately), but to take possession of the new, improved, bigger, stronger, faster infernal machine! Again, unfortunately, they flipped it over during the fight. Now, in Session 51 of DESCENT into AVERNUS, they... well... they try to flip it back over. Math! Physics! Excitement!
The gang, having apparently destroyed the Disintegrator device, is piled into Rocco's hotwired Packard. Where to now? And perhaps more importantly, what might follow them wherever they go? Find out, in Session 4 of The CTHULHU FILES: Casefile Two, the Disintegrator!
It's Session 50 of DICELORE's DESCENT into AVERNUS, and boy, it's a DOOZY! The Damned Fools score an infernal vehicle called "The Tormentor" from Mad Maggie's crew, but it needs parts, so they take it out on a scavenging mission. They do find some useful scrap, but also get more than they bargained for! Tune in for a madcap, Mad Max, Fast and Furious-style desert chase and combat encounter extraordinaire!
The porter at the White Point Hotel has gone missing, and Gertie, Lydia, and Rocco lend their talents to the search, while Lance & Elaine head to dinner and the chance to bid on the device in Session 3 of The CTHULHU FILES: Casefile Two, the Disintegrator. The fog grows thicker and stranger and stranger happenings begin to occur. Into what fresh hells are our heroes headed?...
After using what can only be described as 100% appropriate measures to deal with Smiler, the Damned Fools decide to return to Mad Maggie with his Devil's Ride (and his severed head) in tow. But how will Maggie react to their (completely justifiable) treatment of the smug Fey? And potentially worse yet, will she be ready to perform the memory-retrieval ritual on poor, innocent, little Lulu? Find out in Session 49 of DESCENT into AVERNUS!
Episode 2 of The CTHULHU FILES Casefile 2: The Disintegrator opens with our intrepid heroes commiserating in their hotel suite about how best to preemptively undo the potential damage of such a contraption hitting the open market. Maybe they should at least wait until the demonstration happens to see if this thing is real before they start building bombs and poisoning people?
In Session 48 of DICELORE's DESCENT into AVERNUS, the Damned Fools seek their revenge on, quite frankly, a fairly innocuous character... Smiler the Defiler, who really didn't do anything terribly bad to them. For some reason, though, they want him dead. So... dead they try to make him. Find out if they succeed!
Well, it looks as though the Damned Fools are going to let Mad Maggie have her way with poor li'l Lulu's mind... and to pass the time, they accept a side-quest from her, leading them to one of the more bizarre encounters they've ever had, in or out of hell. Session 47 of DESCENT into AVERNUS, ladies & gents...
And so begins the grand adventure, the struggle against the Old Ones, the Outer Ones, the Great Elder Gods… The CTHULHU FILES marks the split between reality and madness… and we start with Casefile One... “The Disintegrator.”
In Session 46 of DESCENT into AVERNUS, the Damned Fools finally make their way off of the captured city island of Elturel and descend to the ground, where devils and demons are at war and all is not as it seems... Will they successfully search out Fort Knucklebone in their quest to acquire the lost sword of Zariel? Or do more pitfalls (and fiends) lie ahead?
The Damned Fools ain't no fools to do no dirty work. Especially not for creepy strangers they meet in cemeteries in hell. Once our heroes decide they aren't going to tolerate Gideon's fetch quests, they return to the High Hall with Ulder Ravengard in tow... and proceed to attempt a realignment of Torm's Helm in DESCENT into AVERNUS, Session 45. The ceremony proves more trying than any of them could have suspected... is it too big an obstacle to surmount as they are all but ready to get off the floating island of Elturel and descend into the pit of Avernus itself?
After several hard-fought battles against a bunch of undead things, the Damned Fools are sent on a damned fool's errand by Gideon Something-or-other (Gordon Lightfoot, as Reya calls him) to rid the cemetery chapel of its demons. Do they accept the mission? Of course they do! And it leads to a long-awaited encounter, in this, Session 44 of DICELORE's DESCENT into AVERNUS...
Would you believe the Damned Fools once went at least a month without engaging in any combat? Well, their diplomatic abilities seem to have expired, because in Session 43 of DESCENT into AVERNUS, it's combat, combat, COMBAT! Listen as they fight, struggle, and flirt with death... Hoping all the while that death doesn't flirt back.
The Damned Fools continue spring cleaning out the catacombs under Elturel in Session 42 of DESCENT into AVERNUS. They already found one batch of the devils that they'd been warned about... what are the odds they'll run into the other?
And so it ends... or does it? Is anything really over in the universe of the Cthulhu Mythos? The bigger question for you, dear listener, is HOW did it end? Did our intrepid investigators survive? Die? Go stark raving mad? Listen to find out, then stick around as we recap and explain!...
All's well that... doesn't end quite yet? In CALL of CTHULHU: The Crimson Letters, Session 7, after a long day and an... interesting... dinner with one Mister Abner Wick, our intrepid investigators don't seem any closer to solving the mystery of the missing Witch Letters. Or do they? Wick has alluded that there are otherworldly forces at play here. And that time is running short. Can they survive for one more episode?
Our heroes went down, down, down, into a burning ring of fire... In Session 41 of DICELORE's DESCENT into AVERNUS, the Damned Fools find combat... combat... COMBAT! That's what they get for taking a nice, peaceful long rest whilst everything around them burns.
As the Arkham skies darken in DICELORE's CALL of CTHULHU, Session 6, and the thunder rolls overhead, blacker, more ominous things are happening in and around our intrepid investigators. A simple visit to Emilia's dorm leads to an unexpected unfurling of ominous occurances. Is the penultimate moment at hand?...
In Session 40 of DICELORE's DESCENT into AVERNUS, the Damned Fools have led the refugees through the dark, dangerous, devil-filled streets of Elturel to the walls of the High Hall. Is this the sanctuary they seek? Roving hell hounds suggest otherwise...
A Githzerai, a Duergar, and a Goblin go on an ORC HUNT… punchline to follow. Will our anti-heroes survive this DICELORE Nat One-Shot DM’ed by Hailey? "The Orc Hunt" by Dimitris Davoutis, available at http://dmsguild.com
It's Session 39 of DICELORE's DESCENT into AVERNUS, and things is gettin' hairy. All the Damned Fools want to do is get across the confounded bridge! But devils and devils and devils and more devils stand in their way. Will our heroes manage to escort the innocents to the High Hall? And indeed, is the High Hall the safest place in the city, as they hope? Only time, the dice, John the DM, and the players will tell...
The Damned Fools start Chapter 2 of DESCENT into AVERNUS with Session 38, wherein they have finally reached Elturel in hell, and begin to deal with all that entails. (Devils, demons, fire, destruction, pestilence, famine, doom, gloom, and a disturbing dearth of public restrooms, among other things.) Plus, they find a new party member! What are the odds?!
The previous session brought Chapter 1 of DICELORE's DESCENT into AVERNUS to a close, so in this Very Special Episode (tm), DM John Brrr leads a recap session to go over the ground we've covered so far, to get and give feedback, and to hint at a new addition to the Damned Fools when play resumes in Session 38...
As the research and preparation continue in Session 37 of DESCENT into AVERNUS, the Damned Fools inch ever closer to the reckoning that is foretold by the very title of this campaign. Will this be the episode when they finally end up in hell?
Oh, Candlekeep... Repository of knowledge and lore... Thy treasures are wasted upon Those Damned Fools. In Session 36 of DESCENT into AVERNUS, our heroes may have bitten off more than they can chew (as well as possibly come up with a new name for the party!). But as they do their best to avail themselves of all the information that Candlekeep offers, hell awaits...
ROAD TRIP! Session 35 of DICELORE's DESCENT into AVERNUS brings travels, travails, and... other stuff that starts with "tr"... maybe. It's a five day trek (trek! There's one!) to Candlekeep, and who knows what sorts of mischief and mayhem our intrepid heroes may encounter on the road? Let's find out!...
After some residual... unpleasantness... in the Irlentree's dining room, the party finally hits the road, leaving Baldur's Gate behind and beginning their journey to Candlekeep, in Session 34 of DESCENT into AVERNUS. What could possibly go wrong?!
Vinkee the Bugbear Ranger rejoins the team as they finish up their shopping and head to Irlentree Manor for dinner and a good night's rest, before heading out on the road to Candlekeep. But Episode 33 of DESCENT into AVERNUS has more in store for them than mere provisions and sustenance. Family drama, anyone? Oof!
Session 32 of DESCENT into AVERNUS finds the party acquiring a new friend, who has many mesmerizing skills and hints at volumes of fascinating background threads... if he would only come out of his shell. [Note: apologies for Lee's annoying audio echo... the WHOLE TIME. We'll get that straightened out before next session.]
Hell's bells! In episode 31 of DESCENT into AVERNUS, we reach the climax of the hellish bizarro-scape that is the Mandorcai's Mansion storyline. Can they really have found Aego's mom? Something—or someone—is hell-bent on making sure none of them leave alive. Looks like they're going to have a devil of a time getting out of this predicament, that's for damn sure. Enough hints?
Sadly, Session 11 is the final episode of SOLO LEVELING. GM Katran had to end it there, but the party goes out with one last Boss Battle, and a -GASP!- character death! ...or maybe not. After the game ends, John, Hailey, Hal, Ryan & Lee spend some time discussing what comes next for them on Thursday nights.
Is the end of Mandorcai's Mansion within sight? DESCENT into AVERNUS, session 30, seems to inch the party closer to finding Aego's kidnapped mother and a confrontation with... what? Are the story arcs for the other characters' missing persons about to be resolved as well? Perhaps. But first—chains and tentacles, man. Chains and tentacles.
It's episode 3 of ROLL2DIE with Hal the Younger attempting to answer 4 rounds of questions without losing 5 HP! Can he match John Brrr's gold standard of making it to the end unscathed? Let's find out!
Welcome to QUITE the CHARACTER, the mini-show where we spend an episode talking to each DICELORE player about one of the characters they inhabit in our campaigns. Today it's Hailey and her Xibalba the Voltaic Dragonborn Warlock from DESCENT into AVERNUS. Come say hi!
Why yes, DICELORE's MÖRK BORG one-shot has a sequel ...ish. Thanks for asking! Return to the forsaken lands in MÖRK BORG: Devil's Tomb. Anyone smell a campaign starting to form? Yeah. Me too.
CALL of CTHULHU: The Crimson Letters, session five finds our investigators starting to put things together... displaying some mechanical aptitude and incredible luck!... smelling pretty bad... and beginning to explore some rather, uh, special circumstances ascribed to each of them. Weird things are getting weirder. As they do, in Arkham.
Having set seemingly the entire mall on fire last session, SOLO LEVELING, Session 10 sees the party (who may or may not now be calling themselves "Mount Vesuvius") build a fire break and wait out the flames, after which they survey the results of their own personal Pompeii. The UI grants them with a ton of XP, they level up some abilities, and then... SPIDERS!
January 20, 2021 was the 1-year anniversary of the first session we played together, so we decided to celebrate by running a special session of MÖRK BORG... Crazy, super weird, but fun as heck... and containing some of the best roleplaying yet! Immerse yourself in the oddity that is MÖRK BORG: DICELORE style!
It's the first session of Game Mouster Hailey's MOUSE GUARD! DICELORE gets small as we journey to Lockhaven, home of the Mouse Guard. What dangers await our intrepid party of tiny, brave rodents? Come and meet a new band of characters, a new TTRPG system, and a new world of adventure!
SOLO LEVELING, Session 9 leaves the party with a choice... confront humanoid wolf creatures having a drug-fueled orgy, or carnivorous magical transforming plants surrounding a giant centaur statue? Suffice to say, things get hot in a hurry... and we ain't talkin' orgy.
In DESCENT into AVERNUS, session 29, DICELORE gets weird, man. DM John Brrr has homebrewed something special in Mandorcai's Mansion, where the party is stuck looking for Aego's mom (among others?). An emotional, character-driven roleplaying session descends into some serious Twilight Zone craziness. Survival (and sanity) far from guaranteed!
Aaaand it's into the spooky house! DICELORE's DESCENT into AVERNUS, session 28 features the party "returning" to Mandorcai's Mansion, the scene of much murder and mayhem prior to the start of the adventure—backstory, don't you know—on a mission to rescue Aego's kidnapped mom. Ruh-roh, Raggy!
DICELORE's Session 27 of DESCENT into AVERNUS sets up the possibility of things getting REAL ugly REAL fast. After stopping at a blacksmith to see about silvering some weapons, the party heads to the Hhunes with the intent of getting Aego's mum back, come hell or high water. Unfortunately, with Aego involved in the negotiations... enough said. But on the upside, Xibalba actually DOES have proficiency with shields! She's one happy Dragonborn. And that new shield she bought is probably about to come in pretty handy...
It's CALL of CTHULHU: The Crimson Letters, session four, wherein the Keeper of Arcane Lore (aka, Lee) guides our intrepid investigators deeper into the mystery of the missing Witch Letters and the gruesome, unnatural demise of Professor Charles Leiter. Will Dorothy, Doc and Micheal ever be able to escape the strange hell Rex hath wrought by chopping off and putting in his pocket a collection of human toes? Probably not. This is 1921 Arkham, Massachusetts... where all actions, thoughts, dreams, and intentions can have consequences... dire ones.
SOLO LEVELING, Session 8: The Boss Battle! The party takes on their first Big Bad in this dungeon, and boy is it disgusting. The Failed God does not disappoint, but thanks to some (unintentional) teamwork and the stellar rolls by the "new" Johnny Utah, played by Ryan H (taking over for Hal the Elder), things seem to work out!
It's dinner at the Irlentree's! In DICELORE'S Session 26 of DESCENT into AVERNUS,a visit to "Horizon's End"—the Irlentree manor estate—for a well-deserved long rest turns into an unexpected dinner engagement with Aego's father. Awkwardness is the main course, but be sure you stick around for some... unexpected... dessert. Also, SHOPPING!
In this, DICELORE'S Session 25 of DESCENT into AVERNUS, the "Damage is Damage" crew emerge from the Vanthampur dungeons and report to Captain Zodge with evidence of all sorts of nefarious goings-on. Setting the stage for the next... uh... stage of the campaign, they then head off to "Horizon's Edge," also known as the Irlentree estate, for some much needed rest and recovery. Aego is always happy to show off his family's wealth. He's fervently hoping, though, that they can avoid being noticed by his father...
On this episode of ROLL2DIE, DICELORE'S John Brrr—DM of our DESCENT into AVERNUS campaign—takes the challenge and flexes his dice-rolling skillz. Can he survive, and match up to Katran's impressive 4HP victory?
The DICE LORE adventurers are nothing if not extremely cautious! In SOLO LEVELING, Session 7, Ithuriel and Arcee take the lead in the encounter with Oswald & Esmerelda. Things get spookier, then emotional, then kinda kinky, and then dangerous. Boss Fight, here we come!
A mini-show that's half-game, half-interview... So, a halfling, really. This first episode features the DM of SOLO LEVELING and the founder of DICE LORE, Katran!
