Hello everybody this is Skinny White Kid talks about movies. A podcast that is not a film review show or long enough enough to be an actual podcast. This is a film theory show or as many people on the internet call them HOT TAKE show. These are 5-10 minute recordings of my thoughts on an interesting aspect about a recent film. You may agree or disagree. It's just my thoughts! Give it a listen and if you don't agree, I would LOVE a response.
The Northman is the story of Amleth, the viking legend that inspired Hamlet. Since I haven't read Hamlet, here are the lion king comparisons. Alexander Skarsgard is Simba, Ethan Hawke is Mufasa, Willem Dafoe is Rafiki, Anya Taylor-Joy is Nala, Nicole Kidman is Sarabi, and Claues Borg is Scar. Sadly, we are without Timon and Pumba. Bjork is also in this as herself. The film is directed by Robert Eggers, written by Eggers and Sjon. The cinematographer is Jarin Blaschke. Music by Robin Carolan and Sebastian Gainsborough.
Fantastic Beasts: Secrets of Dumbledore the sequel to Fantastic Beasts: Crimes of Grindelwald. It is written by J.K Rowling and Steve Kloves. Directed by David Yates. Starring Eddie Redmayne, Jude Law, Mads Mikkelson, Dan Fogle, Exra Miller, Jessica Williams, and Katherine Waterson... or not for that last one. The plot is incomprehensible.
Everything Everywhere all at once is written and directed by the Daniels. A team that consists of Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert. It is their first collaboration since 2016’s Swiss Army Man. Edited by Paul Rogers. It stars Michelle Yeoh as Evelyn Wang, a mid 50s Chinese woman who owns a laundromat with her husband Raymond Wang, played be Ke Huy Quad, as they attempt to take of her aging father, James Hong, their Daughter Joy, Stephanie Hsu, and figure out their taxes with an IRS agent Diedre played by Jamie Lee Curtis. Thats the movie until it’s not. Because Michelle Yeoh is quickly drafted in a multiversal war.
My computer is being odd, so I couldn't save my plot description. The Bubble is directed by Judd Apatow and written poorly. It stars everyone. Listen to this podcast!

The Batman is the story of a series mysterious high profile murders against important Gotham-ites by a masked vigilante known as the Riddler. It is up to Batman and his friend Lt. Detective Gordon to solve these Riddles and the Riddler before it is too late. It is directed by Matt Reeves. Starring Robert Pattinson, Zoe Kravitz, Jeffrey Wright, Paul Dano, Collin Farrell, Andy Serkis, and John Turturro. Cinematography by Greg Fraiser. Written by Matt Reeves and Peter Craig.
If you normally enjoy the podcast, this episode is even worse. If you don't like to listen to second hand embarrassment, then this episode is really not for you!
Drive My Car is directed by Rysuke Hamaguchi. Starring Hidetoshi Nishijima, Toko Miura, Reika Kirishima, and Masaki Okada Based on a short story by Haruki Murakami. An author I have read three sentences by and thought it was interesting. The film greatly expands this story and thankfully omits all of Murakami’s famous descriptions of breasts. The story is about a man who has faced personal tragedy, and learns how to persevere. He also gets driven around in a car by a young woman. He tells her to “Drive My Car.” WOAH title drop.
Death on the Nile (2022) is directed by Kenneth Branagh, written by Michael Green, based on the novel by Agatha Christie. It stars, Branagh, Gal Gadot, actual cannibal Armie Hammer, Russel Brand, Letitia wright, Annette Benning, Emma Mackey, Rose Leslie, and Tom Bateman. There are more names I got LAZY.
The plot is there is a death on the nile... over halfway through the movie! Armie Hammer and Gal Gadot play newly weds and every one on their wedding boat becomes a suspect in foul play. I won’t even tell you who dies.
This Tuesday was the announcement of the nominations for the 2021 movies that will be recognized at the 2022 Oscars ceremony. I like typing that out. No confusion. This is my longest episode so far! Enjoy!
Since there were no big releases this week, I decided to have fun with it! This episode contains theories on The Batman, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and Uncut Gems. Why two movies from 2019? Because I feel the need to put my thoughts into the void of the internet.
The Scream Franchise was created by director Wes Craven and writer Kevin Williamson. It stars Neve Campbell and a bunch of other people. Its a mystery! I'm trying to give you as little information as possible. Scooby-Doo was created by Joe Ruby and Ken Spears for Hanna-Barbera Productions in 1969. It is unquestionably the most important event to happen in 1969.
The longest episode of the podcast ever! The same length as one Kim's Convenience episode. In this I go into the movies that I feel were the best of the year. I count down not quite 10-1. I do it in my own way. Please enjoy!

Don’t Look Up is directed by Adam McKay. Written by Adam McKay, David Sirota, and with his amount of ad-libbing Jonah Hill should be credited too. Nicolas Britell does the score. The cast includes Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Jonah Hill, Meryl Streep, Rob Morgan, Ron Perlman, Scott Mescudi or Kid Cudi, Ariana Grande, Cate Blanchett, Tyler Perry, Michael Chiklis in a small role, Timothee Chalamet, Hamesh Patel, and Mark Rylance. The plot is two scientists discover a giant comet heading towards Earth and want to stop it.

Red Rocket is directed by Sean Baker. It is written by Sean Baker and Chris Bergoch. It stars Simon Rex, Bree Elrod, and Suzanna Son. The film follows Mikey Saber (Rex) a washed up grifter who returns to Texas City, Texas after being run out of LA. He beings living with his estranged wife Lexi (Bree Elrod), while doing some other things with a high schooler that works at a donut shop named Strawberry (Suzzanna Son).

Nightmare Alley (2021) is directed by Guillermo Del Toro. Starring Bradley Cooper, Cate Blanchett, Rooney Mara, Toni Collette, Willem Dafoe, Ron Perlman, Richard Jenkins, and David Strathairn. The Green Knight (2021) is directed by David Lowery. It stars Dev Patel, Alicia Vikander, Sean Harris, and Joel Edgerton.
The movie that proved theater kids don't deserve happiness. Dear Evan Hansen! Kidding of course, theater kids do deserve happiness that's why they have Tick Tick.... Boom! Dear Evan Hansen is based on the Broadway play of the same name. It is directed by Stephen Chbosky. Starring Ben Platt, Kaitlyn Dever, Julianne Moore, and Amy Adams. The music is by Justin Paul and Dan Romer.
This episode was originally made to come out on the day West Side Story did. It's not even about West Side Story! It is about Steven Spielberg. This is also the fist episode that I feel is worth listening too. JUST FYI.
The Eternals! Your eleventh favorite skinny white kid is talking about the movie every one was talking about. The conversations went something like this, "Hey Spider-Man is coming out. Oh there is another Marvel movie before it. Eternals! What is Eternals?" Don't worry, I have the answers.
