On 17th-3-2021 the NUP party president Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu led his supporters, MPs and well wishers in a peaceful protest which was later ambushed by the Uganda police taking the protest leaders straight to the police station. This comes as they were asking the government of Uganda to release all their imprisoned NUP people for the last few months since last year.
