I had the immense joy of meeting Elizabeth Leech during her photo exhibition, Shadows and Scales: A Monochromatic Journey through Port-Louis Market which was held at the Caudan Arts Centre in November 2023.Elizabeth is an English Photographer who's settled in Mauritius for the past 10 years. Her photo exhibition was a celebration of our historical site, the Port-Louis Market, one of the few remaining heritage that we have on the Island. Comment a-t-il vécu son enfance avec un handicap invisible ? À l'âge où les enfants jouent et s'amusent, Lucas Pugin se sentait en retrait. Il n'a prononcé ses premiers mots qu'à l'âge de 5 ans. La vie n'a pas été facile pour Audrey ces deux dernières années. Elle a créé sa marque Odd pendant la période COVID. Cela a été difficile, elle a connu deux années d'épuisement professionnel et a dû faire face à des problèmes de santé. Mais elle n'a pas abandonné. Elle a demandé l'aide d'experts. Cela n'a pas été facile. Il y avait beaucoup de stigmates, mais elle a surmonté ces obstacles. Elle a eu la volonté de traverser cette période difficile en acceptant la réalité. Aujourd'hui, elle prend le temps d'apprendre à se connaître. Elle n'a pas arrêté sa marque, elle y va doucement. Et c'est un beau message. Même si l'on est confronté à des difficultés, on peut toujours prendre le temps de guérir et de revenir plus forte. En tant qu'entrepreneuse mauricienne, elle a également partagé son expérience en toute transparence sur la gestion d'une entreprise locale. Jake François n'a jamais abandonné ! En 2017, il a obtenu une bourse d'études exceptionnelle dans l'une des plus prestigieuses écoles d'arts du spectacle de New York, la Julliard School. Après de nombreuses tentatives et l'aide de son réseau, il n'a pas pu réunir tous les fonds nécessaires pour réaliser son rêve. Malgré la déception, il a entretenu son rêve en jouant dans de nombreux films et séries locales et internationales.Aujourd'hui, il a besoin de notre aide. Il a été choisi comme l'un des cinq étudiants internationaux à rejoindre le cours Florent à Paris, l'école d'art dramatique la plus prestigieuse et la plus sélective d'Europe.
