Is your speech getting stale? Does your story need more depth? As a speaker, even a Million Dollar Speaker, it is easy for your signature talk that you give over and over to become stale. Worse yet, a speaker can become disconnected with their speech and their professional story. If a speaker is disconnected, the entire audience is disconnected. Don’t let this happen to you. When I asked him how he got that nick name, he shared that he got off stage after speaking and a man stopped him and said, “You are Mr. Awesome!” That man was Les Brown. During this episode Arvee Robinson shares the Good, Bad and Ugly of Public Speaking.
The good: you have a message to share that will change lives, businesses, or even souls! That message will end someone’s suffering and only you can deliver it. Or it will be underdelivered for all eternity.
The bad: not getting trained as a speaker. Not taking the right training can leave a speaker not knowing how to connect to their audience, giving way too much information and just coming off as boring!
The ugly: the lack of training leads to all kinds of problems, for example, no stories, no audience rapport and no close or call to action. All of which leads the audience toward taking the next step and getting the help they need.
