It's time to stop letting people take out their unprocessed pain on you and PROTECT your peace, from a place of self-worth, trust and leadership!

Confident women care more about being respected than being liked. They know that those who need approval the most get it the least. They are a natural magnet for the approval of others because they don't need it (such a powerful paradox).

Highlights:
- wanting to be liked vs needing to be liked
- why so many women stay silent and struggle to speak up
- needing to be liked comes from unmet childhood needs
- the high price you pay from prioritising the comfort of others over your own discomfort
- the 'let them' theory - why it's ok for others to judge, misunderstand or label you

That breakthrough moment led me on a transformative journey toward true self-confidence, which I'll share with you in this ep. I talk about my own struggle with self-doubt, the rocky road to self-acceptance and the tools that helped me build a rock-solid relationship with myself.

From the grips of past traumas to the liberation of self-trust, this is a candid conversation about the strategies that changed the game—not only for me but for numerous clients who have since found their own confidence and self-trust.

We're not just talking about good vibes here; we're digging into practical, actionable techniques to tame the chaos of the mind and find peace within.

Learn about the power of thought observation, emotional intelligence, and the daily practices like meditation and brain dumps that grant mastery over the whirlwind of thoughts and feelings.

I'll also discuss the path to emotional safety and the inner strength that comes from validating oneself, rather than seeking it externally.

This episode is more than just tips and tricks; it's a potent guide to nurturing that all-important friendship with yourself, which is the cornerstone of living with unwavering confidence.

Whether you're riding high or trudging through a tough spot, this is the pep talk you need to embrace the fullness of who you are and let your inner confidence shine.

Step 2: Emotions - how to sit with emotional pain and not push down emotions. Stop gaslighting yourself, start validating yourself. Turn inwards and stop running away from yourself. How I created emotional safety, even with my Complex trauma.
Step 3: Actions - consistency and keeping small promises to yourself!! So simple but so effective! Confidence comes from consistency - it is a skill.

Ever wondered why a perfectly polished exterior doesn't always mean a peaceful interior? Prepare to unravel the complexities of authentic confidence as I share from real coaching experiences the stark contrast between the facade of the confident persona and the internal battle against anxiety and self-doubt.

This episode explains why "fake it till you make it" doesn't work and why true confidence stems from self-acceptance and trust. Together, we'll uncover ways to transform not just your outward persona but also your inner peace - enabling you to move through life with less doubt and a more presence in every moment.

This week, we dissect the critical role past experiences play in shaping our self-esteem and future outlook. We'll navigate the challenging process of reinterpreting our personal narratives through compassion and understanding, breaking the chains of fear that hold us back.

It's a journey to discover how to detach confidence from superficial measures of success and instead anchor it in a foundation of self-worth. By prioritizing health and happiness, we send the message that true achievement isn't about what you have or what others think, but about finding fulfillment and authenticity in your own story.

Highlights:

  • How avoiding pain and chasing pleasure creates problems
  • The confidence persona covering the inner chaos
  • Why we all want to feel confidence
  • How to not confuse confidence with arrogance
  • 3 main reasons why people stay stuck in low confidence

One of the biggest contributions to becoming the healthiest and happiest version of myself is my consistent daily routines.

Over the last three years of coaching, the struggle for consistency emerges as a really common theme. In today's ep I breakdown why so many struggle to achieve simple, consistent daily routines - despite its apparent simplicity.

Learn why consistency is simply commitment and why it's a superpower that will 10X your productivity and peace!

You'll also learn about the negative spiral that all-or-nothing thinking can trigger, and why consistency is more about simplicity than intensity.

FREE Masterclass Own Your Overwhelm linked here.

In today’s episode, I am joined by my very first guest ever! Ursula is joining me to talk about her incredible story and journey. She is here to help and inspire you to seek out a positive mindset. We talk about her choice to join my coaching program, what it was like, and her biggest takeaways. This episode is an inside look into the work we do and a sneak peek of the results that everyone deserves!

Why Coaching? [1:30]

  • I was always attracted to the idea of being positive- I started reading books like The Secret and I was in such a good mindset. [2:20]
  • During lockdown I had loads of time to work on myself, but when lockdown ended, it was the first time I was hit with anxiety. [3:30]
  • I had a knot in my chest and stomach that wouldn’t go away. [3:50]
  • Before the lock down we were so go-go-go, and we didn’t even know there was another way. In lock down, we worked on ourselves. When things started to reopen, we didn’t want to go back to the way things were. [4:40]

What is Coaching like? [6:00]

  • I didn’t let fear prevent my growth. [7:30]
  • I was trying to be grateful for the all the opportunities I was given but I was exhausted. That’s when overwhelm came in. That was where the work came in. [9:00]
  • During our time, I connected with my feelings and connected with my true selves. [9:50]
  • The biggest thing you taught me was to put myself first. [10:15]
  • I noticed that you really started to take your power back and get clear on putting yourself first. [11:10]
  • The only reason I ever did exercise was to lose the weight- it wasn’t enjoyable. Now I do it for my mental health. I’ve enjoyed it, I won’t look at exercise the same ever again. [12:00]
  • When we do things from a place of fear and lack, it’s not sustainable. When we do things because we love ourselves and our life, it’s a different energy. [12:40]
  • I have so much more time in the day since doing this. Before I didn’t allow myself time for me. [15:40]
  • I would be at home, waiting and resting to go back to work. That’s not living. [16:00]
  • What you don’t own, owns you. When you don’t own your emotions, they own you. [19:00]
  • When you connect with your authentic self, you have more energy. [21:00]
  • I’m really, really happy. For the first time in my life I feel so content going to work. I fell in love with it again. [23:15]
  • Coaching is all about the small steps that you can take to become the healthiest and happiest version of yourself. [24:30]

3 Steps Can Change Your Life [25:00]

  • Number one: Give yourself more time and be more organized. [25:30]
  • Number 2: Be grateful for the small things. [26:00]
  • Number 3: Give away the tasks that others can do for you. [27:00]

Find Your Blind Spots [27:30]

  • Stress is created by the stories we tell ourselves. [28:00]
  • I have started believing that I deserve a break and holiday. I am worthy of rest and deserve rest. I don’t have to earn it. [29:00]
  • Give yourself permission to live a stress free life without any of the guilt that goes with it. [30:10]
  • Life is meant to be enjoyed, not endured. [31:00]
  • Life is never going to be completely clear sailing, but knowing that I have the tools to deal with anything that may come up makes me free. [31:30]
  • Coaching is the best investment you will give yourself-and definitely look no further than Claire.[32:00]

2023 was a wild one, but I've come out the other side with insights that are absolutely invaluable, and I couldn't wait to share them here with you. Through this years challenges with depression, financial pressures and the general day to day ups and downs, I've discovered this unbelievable resilience that I'm ready to unpack in today's episode.

I share the top life-changing lessons of the past year and how I'm emerging with a renewed sense of unshakeable self-belief and inner peace.

Simplicity became my north star in 2023. Simplicity isn't just for minimalist lifestyles—it really is the cornerstone of success. I share with you the beauty of simplicity in setting and achieving our goals and the epiphany I had this year that a successful life, and business, thrives on simplicity.

Narrowing my focus to three core priorities (daily, weekly, monthly and annualy) has revolutionized my life.

Stripping back the clutter and embracing effective systems, rather than endless goal-setting, has paved the way for maximum productivity, peace and purpose.

A simpler map leads to treasures far richer than a complicated quest ever could. Creating a less cluttered approach to life has brought a sense of calm to the tumultuous oceans of everyday life.

Finally, I'll share the practical tools and templates that have guided me to such a place of profound peace and happiness.

So, batten down the hatches and prepare to set sail into 2024, with an episode that's full of the power of self-compassion and courage in facing our imperfections with a heart full of fierce love.

I hope you enjoy listening to this episode as much as I enjoyed creating it x

Are you exhausted from always putting yourself last? Today's episode is for you!!

This is such an eye-opening conversation about where self-abandonment comes from and how to stop the destructive habit of running yourself into the ground!

From my own personal and professional experiences, I want to help you recognize these subtle patterns, often rooted in childhood emotional neglect, and have the simple steps to start prioritizing your own health and happiness.

We will look at how a lack of emotional validation in childhood, leads to emotional immaturity and these destructive habits. The absence of emotional validation during childhood leads to an assumption that one's emotions and needs are unimportant.

This often results in seeking validation from external sources, leading to overcompensation and ultimately self-abandonment. I share my own journey with this and how learning to validate myself, even during the lowest lows, has increased my emotional maturity and overall health and happiness.

Nobody is coming to save you. Making your needs your number one priority is not selfish, it's smart. And it's what healthy, emotionally mature adults do.

Whether you're dealing with chronic self-abandonment or just want to improve your emotional maturity and overall wellbeing , this episode is packed full of insights and breakthroughs to guide you back towards you happiest and healthiest self!

*Join the Pressure To Peace waitlist here! Could your relentless pursuit of perfection be a response to deeply subconscious psychological trauma? This week, we're unmasking the connection between perfectionism and childhood trauma* and how, unbeknownst to many, it shapes our lives.

Join me on this intimate journey as I talk about my own struggles with perfectionism, a journey sparked by a life-changing conversation in a café.

We'll tackle how perfectionism manifests as an obsessive fear of flaws and an excessive need for control. We'll also talk about how it is often rooted in trauma that leads to a vicious cycle of stress and anxiety.

However, there IS hope. Together, we're going to explore how understanding these traumas and developing psychological flexibility can liberate us from this exhausting cycle. You'll start to see why perfectionism is actually a SOLUTION and not a problem!

We'll also delve into the impact of growing up in a chaotic environment, where praise was tied to performance, and how it results in an internalized obsession with achievement and the fear of never being good enough. We'll scrutinize how this fear translates into overthinking, overanalyzing, and an overwhelming responsibility for others.

But this isn’t just about understanding, it's also about empowerment. In this episode, I'll be sharing strategies to challenge limiting beliefs and build self-confidence - all aimed at empowering you to transform perfectionism into a tool for realizing your dreams. This is your call to rise above self-doubt and the fear of failure.

Perfectionism is a wolf in sheep's clothing. It's not just about aiming for excellence, but rather a fear-driven state of hyper-arousal that can lead to a powerful sense of helplessness and hopelessness.

So, how can we battle this beast? This episode is a personal journey through the ups and downs of of perfectionism and depression, where I unravel the roots of my perfectionism, understand it's triggers and what it sought to protect me from.

Navigating perfectionism and depression hasn't been an easy journey for me. From the depths of my despair, I've uncovered the profound truth that depression is not simply sadness or an emotional low; it's a crippling sense of helplessness and hopelessness.

Far from the common misconceptions, it engulfs your life with a darkness that's hard to come out of. This isn't just my story, but a reflection of the battles fought by many who struggle with perfectionism and any other mental health struggles.

The paradox of being able to support others on their healing journey while struggling to keep my own head above water was something that I really struggled to understand. Peeling back the layers of perfectionism, I discovered a state of hyper-arousal fueled by fear, not ambition.

Yet, it isn't all doom and gloom. The mantra 'imperfect is the new perfect' has been a game-changer, and the key to sustainable productivity by calming our perfectionist parts and learning to stay present.

Together, we can flip the narrative, calm our anxieties, and celebrate the beauty of imperfection. Tune in for a deep, personal exploration and let's reframe our understanding of perfectionism together.

Delve into the psychology behind this drive, and discover the dual faces of high achieving – the blessings and the burdens. We will also unravel the patterns of overthinking, overscheduling, and overfunctioning, and how these can often overshadow inner success.

In the second half of our conversation, we transition towards the concept of being a conscious achiever. We illuminate the significance of aligning your identity with your purpose, setting intentions, and evading the trap of instant gratification. We guide you on a journey to achieve inner peace and contentment, asserting that happiness is not just a result of our circumstances but rather largely linked to our mindset. Prepare to embark on an exploration of the five steps of the permanent peace process and join us in our mission to understand the complexities of high achievement.

(0:00:02) - Understanding High Achievers (16 Minutes)

What does it mean to be a high achiever and how to spot one? We explore healthy and harmful high achieving, and why your ability to enjoy is more important than your ability to achieve. We discuss the theory of human motivation and the three needs that motivate people to do anything in life: the need for power, the need for affiliation, and the need for achievement and success. We also examine how success doesn't always equal inner success, and why it's important to understand what's underneath the surface.

(0:16:33) - High Achiever (19 Minutes)

We explore the psychology behind high achievers, and how it can be both a blessing and a burden. We discuss the dangers of overthinking, overscheduling, and overfunctioning, and how, when we are in alignment with our true selves, being a high achiever brings joy and fulfilment. We also examine why ambition is healthy in the right quantity, and how overachieving can lead to burnout and stress.

(0:35:47) - Power in Being a Conscious Achiever (12 Minutes)

We explore how to align who you are with what you're here to do. We discuss the importance of intentions and making the world a better place, and how to stay away from the need for instant gratification. We also examine how to achieve inner peace and contentment, and why happiness has little to do with our circumstances and more to do with our mindset. Finally, we discuss the five steps of the permanent peace process and invite you to sign up for the beta round.

Welcome to Season 2 of the Women of Worth Podcast with Claire Fealy!

My 3-month break for the summer turned into 6 months! Whoops! I can't believe it's been 6 months since uploading a new episode and I really missed recording!

In today's episode, I share 3 things I would do differently if I restarted my self-worth journey.

I've learnt a lot of lessons this year and especially what "happiness" truly means to me. Self-worth really is at the core of success and happiness. I feel more passionate about that now than I ever have!!

Self-worth is the foundation for a healthy and happy life. Without feeling a solid sense of worth or value it is difficult, if not impossible, to enjoy this beautiful journey that we came here to have. Instead we get stuck proving our worth and hustling for external validation and approval!

Settle in, grab a nice cup of tea, and welcome to another episode of WOW!

Claire’s Biggest Takeaways [2:31]

[7:00] The biggest myth is that we have to wait for self doubt to go away before we can start. When I started my business, I was full of self doubt.
[8:00] I made my dreams bigger than my fear.
[9:00] You are made for so much more than just the day to day.
[9:15] Our biggest regrets in life are what we don’t do. It’s time to take action.
[11:15] Tears are a sign of bravery.
[12:00] Life is not a destination, it’s a journey.
[12:30] It’s about enjoying where you are, but feeling excited about where you’re going.
[14:30] When you step into a new version of yourself, it’s like a rebirth. It can bring up the sadness of realizing how long you’ve suffered.
[15:30] More work does not mean more success.
[17:00] When I put effort in, change is possible.

You can change what you’re not aware of [18:00]

[18:00] Journal Prompt: What do you say to yourself about yourself, whether it’s consciously or subconsciously?
[19:00] How you feel about yourself when you’re by yourself is the secret to success.
[20:00] It’s so powerful to be in the energy of a coach and of supportive women.
[25:30] Proximity is power. Being in the company of powerful people is lifechanging.

Welcome to the Women of Worth Podcast with Claire Fealy!

In today’s episode, we are joined by founder of The Nail Tech Org, Amy Guy! We are so excited to share tips on starting your own business, creating goals, how to let go of what others think of you, and how to embrace how incredible you truly are.

But, this isn’t just my podcast. I would never be where I am today without you! So, settle in, grab a nice cup of tea, and welcome to another episode of OUR podcast.

Find what you love and do it! [5:00]

[5:30] I was running my own business but I was still too scared to let go of that full time ‘good job’ that I had.

[6:00] Once I started doing what I love, I knew I wouldn’t be going back.

[8:30] What was important was people, and family, and knowing that you aren’t going through this alone.

[12:00] People always talk about how I’ve changed their life, but they’ve changed mine.

Celebrate Success! [13:00][13:00] Collaboration over competition. How can we help and support each other?

[17:30] If there something you want to do or achieve or a place where you can make a difference, you have to just back yourself and go for it!

[19:30] You can’t make a difference unless you take action.

[21:00] Fail your way to success! There’s no one who succeeded their way to success.

[24:00]A lot of people ask what time is the right time to take the leap, but it’s never the right time. Know that you will make it work because it’s what you’ve been put on this Earth to do.

[25:30] You think that people are judging you and not supporting you- prove them wrong.

[26:00] There’s nothing better than doing what you love. It’s freedom.

Focus on YOU [28:00]

[28:00] When you’re so focused on watering your own grass, and you’re focused on your own interests and passions, you don’t have time to sit and wonder what others are thinking.

[31:00] It blows my mind that we aren’t taught from a young age to sit down and figure out what you want within the next few days, weeks, months.

[35:00] Understand what works for you and what motivates you!

[36:00] The most important lessons you can learn are the ones about yourself.

[37:00] What one person’s version of happiness is, is another person’s version of hell. Don’t look at other people online and think that’s your path to happiness.

[38:00] Find out what your version of happiness is.

[40:00] Stop and be present in the moment. Celebrate everything you achieve.

[42:00] Surround yourself with people that want you to do well.

[48:00] Reach out and get the support! It makes such a difference.

[51:00] Spending time on my own, just to be still and take in what’s going around me, and actually think about how I feel is really powerful.

[54:00] It’s not good, it’s not bad, it just is.

[55:00] It’s so important to not be hard on yourself. This is a journey- all you can do is your best.

[55:30] The journey of life is all about understanding ourselves more and more.

[56:00] Amy’s book recommendation: Money by Rob Moore

[57:00] Your net worth is tied to your self worth, but your net worth will never exceed your self worth.

[59:00] Did you know butterflies can’t see their own wings? We are just like them. We just can’t see what we’re doing, the difference we’re making, and how amazing we are.

Welcome to the Women of Worth Podcast with Claire Fealy!

In today’s episode, we are joined by the incredible Jamie Janko. Jamie is here to share the power of breath work, how she has transformed her life, and remind everyone to trust themselves every step of the way.

But, this isn’t just my podcast. I would never be where I am today without you! So, settle in, grab a nice cup of tea, and welcome to another episode of OUR podcast.

What is Breathwork? [3:15]

  • [6:00] It’s all about the mind, body, soul connection. If you don’t have internal peace, your external is a reflection of your internal.
  • [7:30] Breathwork is a very active energetic practice. It’s meditation or a passive practice, you’re in a conscious breath pattern that lets us slip into the subconscious mind.
  • [10:00] Start slowly. Book a one-on-one practice. Know that you’re in a very safe space.
  • [10:30] Starting with embodiment practices is a great way to begin as well.
  • [12:30] What really helped me was starting to spend time with myself.
  • [14:00] You are your own greatest healer. The best book you’ll ever read is the book you write yourself.

Jamie’s Message [17:30]

  • [18:00] I left my career when I should have been moving up in the company and I started something new.
  • [18:45] You’re never to old: to live you life, to live your dreams
  • [19:00] Your worth is not defined by your ability to be loved by someone else. Your worth is in you and you’re worthy because you are you.
  • [20:00] When I focused less on how my life looked and more on how my life felt, I felt more present.
  • [24:00] Health is a feeling, not a look!
  • [25:00] We think that happiness lies in looks, but it has nothing to do with the outside. It’s created on the inside.

Trusting Yourself [26:00]

  • [26:30] Find evidence of trusting yourself and build on evidence.
  • [27:00] Make small decisions instead of making it something big. You can look back and say, ‘Oh I did that!’.
  • [30:30] We all need to go through life knowing that we are the main character! We are not the side character for everyone else.
  • [35:00] Can I be okay where I am? Can I love myself where I am? Can I accept myself where I am? Can I make one step to go to the next place?
  • [37:30] Give yourself grace and separate yourself from the stories you're telling yourself.
  • [43:00] The more we’re able to live in our truest desire, the more radiant we become, the more our needs are met, the more abundance in every way comes in because we’re in alignment.
  • [48:00] Part of the human experience is struggle and mess. The more you can embrace that instead of making it something about you, that’s when life gets so much easier.
  • [51:00] You can be in paradise, but if your inner world isn’t paradise you won’t be able to enjoy it.
  • [54:00] There’s a difference between happiness and a distraction from sadness.
  • [55:00]If you can’t be grateful for a cup of coffee, how are you going to be grateful for anything else? If you aren’t grateful for yourself or the people in your life, how can you be grateful for a partner or anyone else?
  • [59:30] Things that happened yesterday don't control my peace today.
  • [1:01:00] How am I going to get depth if I’m not willing to go deep?

Jamie’s Book Recommendations:

  • Untethered Soul by Michael Singer and
  • The New Earth by Eckhart tolle

In today’s episode we are taking a closer look at self doubt. Self doubt is not a “You” problem- we all deal with it. I am giving you 3 signs that self doubt could be holding you back, 10 tips for overcoming it, and a few journal prompts you can start using today!

But, this isn’t just my podcast. I would never be where I am today without you! So, settle in, grab a nice cup of tea, and welcome to another episode of OUR podcast.

What is Self-Doubt? [0:00]

  • [2:50] Self doubt is the anchor that keeps your ship from sailing.
  • [3:30] We all have self doubt. Self doubt isn’t the problem- it’s your relationship with self doubt.
  • [4:30] Make your dreams bigger than your doubts.

3 Signs that Self Doubt is Holding You Back [8:00]

  • [9:30] The first sign: You worry about things you can’t control.
  • [10:00] The more fear you have, the more you try to control your future. You have to make peace with not being in control.
  • [12:30] The second sign: Procrastination
  • [13:00] Self doubt and procrastination go hand in hand- it all comes from that feeling of not being good enough.
  • [14:30] The third sign: You care more about what others think than you care about yourself.
  • [15:10] No amount of external validation or putting others first could compensate for self worth, self love, self acceptance or self compassion.
  • [21:30] Women associate success with more negative consequences than men.

Top Tips to Overcome Self Doubt [23:30]

  • [24:30] #1 I identified my core values. When we don’t know who we are, we allow ourselves to be defined by others.
  • [27:00] #2 Identify your limiting beliefs. Your beliefs drive you thoughts. Your thoughts drive your emotions. Your emotions drive your actions. Your actions drive your behaviors.
  • [27:30] #3 Inner child healing. Self doubt is a sign of fear. A lot of times, it’s the fear our inner child has.
  • [29:00] #4 I detached my worth from approval, appearance, and achievements.
  • [30:00] #5 Stop comparing yourself to strangers on the internet. Social media is one of the biggest killers of confidence because we’re comparing our messy behind the scenes to everyone's highlight reel.
  • [31:00] #6 Detach and diffuse from your thoughts: Catch, challenge, and change them.
  • [31:40] Give me a better thought!
  • [32:30] #7 Action alleviates anxiety. Do not try to think your way into the perfect decision. There is no right or wrong decision- just a decision.
  • [33:00]Decisiveness is an outcome of confidence. Start making more decisions and take action.
  • [34:00] #8 Trust the universe. Trust that you’re exactly where you’re meant to be and that you’re being guided and supported. Faith over fear.
  • [35:00] #9 Build a toolbox with resources for yourself. Learn how to stop the spiral before you get into the spiral. In my tool box is to listen to a good podcast or Disney playlist, EFT, journaling, reaching out to a friend.
  • [36:00] #10 Daily nervous system regulation. Our mind is controlled by our nervous system. Regulate your system with daily meditation, breathwork, movement, and mindset work(like listening to a podcast or reading).
  • [37:30] Excessive self doubt comes from excessive fear.
  • [38:00] Self doubt is normal- we all have it! The only time it’s a problem is when we let it control us.
  • [39:30] Learn to love all parts of yourself.

Journal prompts [40:00]

  • What would your life look like with less self doubt?
  • If you got to turn the notch on your confidence from a 2 to a 7 or 8, how different would your life look? How different would you think, act, or feel?

Welcome to the Women of Worth Podcast with Claire Fealy!

After a month off, I’m back! This special episode consists of 2 different podcasts- one from before my trip and one from after. Listening back to the first half of this episode made me a little emotional because I was truly so nervous about what would come up while I was away. What I didn’t expect was how incredibly life changing traveling would be.

But, this isn’t just my podcast. I would never be where I am today without you! So, settle in, grab a nice cup of tea, and welcome to another episode of OUR podcast.

Before the Trip [2:00]

  • [2:30] Your inner world is more important than your outer world.
  • [6:00] When life feels hard, and things are coming up to the surface, stop resisting it.
  • [7:00] When life is the hardest, we heal the most.
  • [8:30] A lot of times, stress is self created. It’s the stories we tell ourselves.
  • [9:00] Stress is disempowering. It takes us out of our circle of control.
  • [11:00]Sometimes your life needs to fall apart to fall back into place.
  • [12:00] I found I was always putting other people ahead of me. I masked all of my feelings and acted happy-go-lucky.
  • [15:00] When life feels hard, look for the lesson. What we don’t repair, we repeat.
  • [17:30] Feel the fear and do it anyways.
  • [18:30] Be at peace in the present- you are free to just enjoy life.
  • [20:00] There is nothing more powerful than a woman who knows her worth.

Post Trip Updates! [22:00]

  • [23:30] You don’t need a lot to be happy.
  • [24:40] I got caught up in the consumerism-what did I need to be happy? I fell into the trap of chasing success.
  • [25:00] I thought hitting certain numbers would make me feel better and solve all my problems- but it doesn’t.
  • [26:00] I want you to know that happiness and success does not lie on the top of the mountain. Once you get to the top, there’s another mountain to climb.
  • [29:00] I came to Bali to heal my mentality of not being good enough.
  • [31:00] Your worth is not in your weight, your appearance, your achievements, or the approval of other people.
  • [35:00] Nobody is better than you. Nobody is less than you. Everyone is at a different place in their journey.
  • [36:30] Your weight will change, your worth will not. The people around you will change, your worth does not. Your results in life will change, your worth does not.
  • [39:30] I don’t need to travel to be happy. I can be happy with myself.
  • [41:00] I am making more time for fun, rest, and sleep!

Becoming Magnetic [42:00]

  • [43:00] The Magnetic Confidence Movement created a community. It’s like minded people in a safe space where we can open up and share our struggles.
  • [44:00] Confidence is the belief that you are worthy, deserving, and capable.
  • [46:00] Change doesn’t have to be hard when you have support.

Welcome to the Women of Worth Podcast with Claire Fealy!

In today's episode, you are going to hear part 2 of the incredible episode I recorded with Katie McKenna about childhood and trauma responses. We dive into why having compassion is so important on your healing journey. We want you to know that you are enough and that you don’t have to be anyone but YOURSELF!

But, this isn’t just my podcast. I would never be where I am today without you! So, settle in, grab a nice cup of tea, and welcome to another episode of OUR podcast.

Bring Compassion [1:30]

  • When you connect with your inner child, you can’t not have compassion for a 5 year old you that was just trying to be seen, heard, and valued in the middle of chaos. [2:00]
  • When clients hear their story as if it’s someone else's, they have so much more compassion because it interrupts the pattern of dismissing your emotions and experiences. [2:40]
  • You need to have a balanced scale. So here is one side- generous, kind, compassionate, loving, empathic, and interesting. And if that is balanced with boundaries and express and my own wants and needs having my own preferences and having a felt sense of self, if that is in balance, that is okay. [5:15]

Childhood Development [5:50]

  • There is absolutely no blame or accountability to you in childhood. This was something that was pushed on you. [6:00]
  • It’s up to the parents to set healthy boundaries. [6:15]
  • These are survival responses. They served a purpose in childhood. You did exactly what you needed to do. [6:45]
  • Kids will have emotional meltdowns and teenagers are so impulsive because they can't think of the logical consequences. [8:40]

You are Enough [9:00]

  • You never have to be anything but yourself. [9:45]
  • You are your own greatest healer. [10:30]
  • I went on a mission to rescue other people, but I ended up rescuing myself. [12:00]
  • If you want to do something, don’t do it for praise. [16:00]
  • The most profound thing I did for my healing was sitting with myself. [17:00]
  • The wounds of emotional neglect is the death of a thousand cuts. [18:40]
  • Your core values are like your joy GPS. [22:30]
  • When you’re not being yourself, you don’t feel seen, heard and valued. [28:40]

Welcome to the Women of Worth Podcast with Claire Fealy!

In today's special 2 part episode, I am joined by Katie Mc Kenna to get deep about our childhoods. In Part 1, we dive into the four responses, Fight, Flight, Freeze, and Fawn, and how you can balance them to get rid of people-pleasing. We want you to know that you don’t have to be anyone but YOURSELF!

But, this isn’t just my podcast. I would never be where I am today without you! So, settle in, grab a nice cup of tea, and welcome to another episode of OUR podcast.

Fight , Flight, Freeze, and Fawn [4:00]

  • Freeze is the first response to danger. We become still and quiet and assess the danger. [5:30]
  • Flight is the second response where you disengage or retreat from the danger. [5:55]
  • The third response, fight, ensures that we have good boundaries and can stand up for ourselves. [6:20]
  • The Fawn response is when a person responds to threat by trying to be pleasing or helpful to stall the attacker. [6:35]
  • We keep the past alive in our mind so vividly that we can get stuck in that state of survival and dysregulation.[7:40]
  • These responses are not bad unless we become stuck in one of them. [8:30]

How to Become Unstuck [12:00]

  • We will all make mistakes as parents [13:30]
  • I took accountability for my part of the issue- that’s the repair. [15:00]
  • Part of the healing journey is grieving those losses- it’s okay to be sad. Feel it and release it. [17:00]
  • Our most basic need as humans is to be heard, seen, and valued. That comes before anything else. [23:20]
  • The first step to change is always awareness. [24:30]
  • We have 2 fundamental needs as children: attachment and authenticity. [27:00]
  • When our emotional intelligence is restricted we often don’t know what we really want and consequently struggle with making decisions. [29:20]

Abandonment [31:00]

  • All behavior is to meet a need. [35:30]
  • Does it always have to go back to childhood? [37:00]

  • Shifting focus on things going on in your life [41:00]
  • Bring attention to the fact that we don't really ever know that much about other people's lives [41:20]
  • Jealousy sometimes is pointing out what it is that you really want [43:05]
  • Your feelings are feedback for your needs [43:30]

Struggling to let go [43:50]

  • Sit with how are you feeling with this person [45:20]
  • We have to allow for all of the pain to be felt, to move, shift and be there [47:00]
  • You also have to not feel shame in feeling the pain [48:30]
  • I would encourage a break from communication [49:00]
  • We are blaming and outsourcing our peace and ability to move one [50:30]
  • Give ourselves time [51:50]

  • Know what you need [59:00]
  • Be okay with rejection and know you’re worthy [1:01:20]

Welcome to the Women of Worth Podcast with Claire Fealy!

In today’s episode, I am joined by my first guest! Ursula is joining me to talk about her incredible story and journey. She is here to help and inspire you to seek out a positive mindset. We talk about her choice to join my coaching program, what it was like, and her biggest takeaways. This episode is an inside look into the work we do and a sneak peek of the results that you are worthy of.

But, this isn’t just my podcast. I would never be where I am today without you! So, settle in, grab a nice cup of tea, and welcome to another episode of OUR podcast.

Welcome to the Women of Worth Podcast with Claire Fealy!

In today’s episode, I want to discuss a message I received, where the criticism comes from, and why you shouldn’t fear it. I share 4 practical strategies that you can use to build your confidence, resilience, and inner strength.

But, this isn’t just my podcast. I would never be where I am today without you! So, settle in, grab a nice cup of tea, and welcome to another episode of OUR podcast.

Reflection on January [5:20]* I do not believe in failure I believe in feedback [7:30] * I have learned to separate my self-worth from my net worth [7:40] * How much I didn't bring in is not a reflection of how hard I have worked [8:10] * Wealth is only one form of abundance [9:00] * I decided that 2022 was going to be the year that I put my health, happiness, and healing first [10:25] * Zoom out and look at the bigger picture [12:30] * For me, fun and fulfillment over finances. Trust that the finances will follow [13:30] * Celebrate the not so obvious wins [15:20]

The Message [16:20]* The message, she started with “hi, love” [17:20] * My initial reaction was panic and, straight away, I reached out to two experts in trauma. [19:30] * Criticism is often someone else’s perspective and a lot of times it is someone else’s pain [22:25] * I sat with myself and checked in with myself so that I was replying in a place of love and compassion rather than my ego [23:10] * The most dangerous healers out there are people who haven't healed themselves [24:40] * I struggled and suffered in silence for a very long time and I had such shame around my inner world about what was going on- I was addicted to escapism [30:20] * Information empowers people[30:55] * What we worked on was changing the meaning [34:00] * Just because someone else's trauma is "worse than yours" and "more awful" does not mean that your pain is any less important [35:50] * What I will say about criticism is that it is much easier to scroll social media and criticize other people than it is to sit with your wounds and heal them- I am speaking from experience [36:00] * You don’t have to go through life triggered at every turn [37:05] * I am so so grateful for her message yesterday because it made me realize that I have surrounded myself with such strong women [37:45] * I am so grateful for that message because it helped me heal a little bit more of my own fear of rejection and criticism [38:25]

**Welcome to the Women of Worth Podcast with Claire Fealy!

In today’s episode we are decoding toxic positivity and why it doesn’t work. We are going to talk about how to handle life when things go to crap (even when you get Covid) and supply you with practical strategies to use. At the end of the episode, I am going to answer a few questions from listeners about guilt, healing, and regret- remember that you have to feel it to heal it.

But, this isn’t just my podcast. I would never be where I am today without you! So, settle in, grab a nice cup of tea and welcome to another episode of OUR podcast.**

What is Toxic Positivity? [02:00]

  • “Toxic positive is when we dismiss our emotions and try to just focus on the positives.” [05:50]
  • “When we suppress those organic, natural emotions, we are creating a lot of problems for ourselves. Those unprocessed emotions turn toxic.” [06:00]
  • “We go to our head because it’s safer and escape from our bodies. We escape to social media, overworking, let people treat us like crap so that we can escape from the unprocessed emotions of our past.” [09:00]
  • “Allow it and feel it, but don’t wallow in it.” [09:30]

5 Practical Steps for Protecting your Peace [10:40]

  • “Step 1: Acknowledge and Appreciate your Feelings. Feelings are just feedback and feelings in your body.” [10:40]
  • “I had to acknowledge that I was feeling lonely, that I was disappointed, and that I was really, really scared. But a huge part of acknowledging and appreciating your emotions is compassion. It was important to be kind to myself so I could feel and heal.” [12:20]
  • “Step 2: Remind yourself that your problems are never permanent or personal.“[15:00]
  • “I’m not going to feel this way forever. Feelings come to end and pass.” [16:10]
  • “If getting sick was here to help me, how would it be helping me? It encouraged me to really take my health seriously. If getting sick was here to help me, how would it be helping me? It reminded me that I need to slow down and work on my work life balance.” [17:00]
  • “Step 3: Meditation. Be aware of the stories you’re telling yourself.“[19:40]
  • “Meditation helps to ground and balance you. Take the first 15 minutes of your day to focus on your breath and connect to your higher self.”[21:00]
  • “Step 4: Get outside and move. Get out of your head, into your body, and move! It increases your endorphins.” [24:15]
  • “Emotions are energy. When you get up and move, you move that energy. When you stay on the couch all day, those emotions stay stagnant.” [25:00]
  • “Step 5: Connect and Get Support. When we have trauma we lose trust in ourselves and in others. You’re full of fear. Let love in and let that support in.” [26:00]

Q + A [32:00]

  • “How do I stop reliving the past, and heal from relationship issues? What could have been done differently?”
  • “How can I heal old wounds of not feeling good enough?”
  • “How do I get rid of guilt?”

Welcome to the Women of Worth Podcast with Claire Fealy! Today is the final episode of our three part series that focuses on trauma.

In this final episode of our trauma series, we identify common myths that surround trauma. From who is affected by trauma to what trauma should look like, we are debunking 4 of the biggest myths and getting down to the truth. I am also sharing three things that you can start doing today to start on your healing journey.

This isn’t just my podcast. I would never be where I am today without you! So, settle in, grab a nice cup of tea and welcome to another episode of OUR podcast.

The 8 Signs [01:30]

  • “We don’t just grow out of trauma- our issues are in our tissues.” [02:00]
  • “Childhood trauma is normal childhood experiences that we internalize to mean something about us.” [03:15]

Myths about Trauma [03:30]

  • “Myth #1: Trauma is a life sentence. You are not your coping strategies. Trauma has the power to both destroy and to resurrect. Use your trauma as a vehicle to get to where you want to go.” [03:30}
  • “My anxiety and my depression made me a good coach. I have turned my struggles into my strengths, and you can too.” [05:25]
  • “Myth #2: We can only experience trauma after a life threatening event. Remember that trauma means wound. There’s no scale that measures somebody’s emotional and psychological pain.” [06:20]
  • “Stop judging yourself and critizeing yourself. You will never criticize yourself into the happiest, healthiest version of yourself.” [07:30]
  • “Myth #3: If you’re strong, you can make it through trauma by yourself. Asking for help can be really, really hard, but it can save your life. The best thing I ever did was ask for help.” [07:45]
  • “Myth 4: Nothing good ever comes from a traumatic event. Experiencing growth after trauma is more common than PTSD. Thousands of studies have shown that 90% of trauma survivors eventually say that they have a renewed sense of life, empathic growth, and increased emotional maturity.” [09:47]

How to Overcome Your Trauma [12:30]

  • “Be at peace in the present” [12:50]
  • “Observe, don’t absorb. Everyone is on their own journey.” [13:00]
  • “Life is happening for me, not to me.” [14:00]
  • “Step #1: Move- move everyday for 30 minutes, preferably outside. When you’re moving, try to be present.” [15:00]
  • “Step #2: Connection- we feel safest when we connect with others. It changes the chemicals in our bodies. You need support.” [17:00]
  • “Step #3: Daily Grounding- Just like you do a daily task, look after your nervous system. This can be breathing, journaling, and meditation.” [18:10]

Q + A [22:30]

  • “Why are we so in denial of trauma over years before we need to face it and heal?” [22:30]
  • “How come some coping mechanisms in childhood are adaptive and maladaptive later?” [23:30]
  • “Is grief trauma, and how do you overcome it?” [24:30]
  • “Could my trauma be responsible for why I feel anxious in my job?” [27:25]

Welcome to the Women of Worth Podcast with Claire Fealy! Today is episode 2 of a three part series that focuses in on trauma.

In today's episode, we are looking into the 8 Signs of Trauma. Trauma can look different for each and every person depending on their life-this is not a check list! This is an opportunity for you to look inward and stop asking “What is wrong with me?” and start asking “What happened?”. It’s time to turn your wounds into wisdom and your pain into power.

This isn’t just my podcast. I would never be where I am today without you! So, settle in, grab a nice cup of tea and welcome to another episode of OUR podcast.

The 8 Signs [01:30]

  • “Nobody goes through the games of life without some form of trauma.” [1:45]
  • “The first sign of trauma is low self worth-this is especially true with childhood trauma. We don’t have a capacity for reasoning and logic, so we assume anything bad that happens is because of us.” [02:15]
  • “The second sign is intense fear of failure. Any small mistake, flaw, or weakness makes you feel overwhelmed.” [03:30]
  • “Unhealed trauma is like walking around with an open wound, trying to bandage it by numbing and distracting ourselves but it doesn’t work.” [4:00]
  • “The fear of success is the third sign. It is associated with early abandonment. It’s a fear of judgement and rejection.” [4:45]
  • “Number four is micromanaging. Planning everything to a tee, and having a need for control. If you go into panic when things don’t go as plan, it stems from helplessness. It can show up as hypervigilance.” [5:15]
  • “Number five is an inability to celebrate change. Our wounds cause us to feel unworthy.” [6:30]
  • “Number six is hurting yourself and others. Unhealed trauma causes you to isolate yourself, lose your temper, and react instead of respond.” [7:45]
  • “Number seven is an inability to ask for help. The fear of judgement and rejection stopped me from reaching out and getting help. Just know that not asking for help is not a sign of strength.” [9:30]
  • “The last sign is the inability to concentrate and be present. You overthink to avoid dealing with emotions. It pushes you to live in your head instead of feeling and healing.”[10:15]

You Are Not Broken [12:00]

  • “Just know that when people are projecting their pain, it’s not about you. Don’t internalize it!” [13:00]
  • “Observe, don’t absorb.” [13:40]
  • “You are not broken, you are wounded.” [14:30]
  • “Allow trauma to be your teacher. Suffering is school. Take the lessons.” [15:10]
  • “Turn your wounds into wisdom and your pain into power.” [15:40]
  • “It’s time to do the work. It’s time to feel safe in your body again.” [18:30]
  • “Create a life that you don’t need to escape from.” [19:00]

Welcome to the Women of Worth Podcast with Claire Fealy! Today is episode 1 of a three part series that focuses in on trauma.

In today's episode, we take a deep dive into the truth about trauma. We are taking a magnifying glass to the different types of trauma, including childhood trauma. By the end of this podcast, you will know exactly what trauma is and be able to identify the eight signs of unhealed trauma. This isn’t just my podcast. I would never be where I am today without you! So, settle in, grab a nice cup of tea and welcome to the first episode of OUR podcast.

You are NOT your Trauma [02:50]

  • “Diving into trama has been unbelievable, not just for my own healing, but in my coaching, I started to see profound transformations with clients.” [04:15]
  • “Therapy focuses on the past, whereas coaching is future focused.” [05:30]
  • “The third pillar of my coaching is consistent happiness, not happiness all of the time, because that's not realistic, but your default mode, making sure your day to day experience of life is a good one.” [06:05]
  • “Information gives us hit of dopamine. It's a temporary relief. It makes us feel good. Transformation comes from implementation.” [07:00]
  • “Trauma originally was the Greek word for wound- and that's exactly what trauma is.” [7:45]
  • “Stop asking, ‘what's wrong with me? Why am I like this? Why can't I be like somebody else?’ Because trauma is not what happened to you. It's how your body copes with that stress.”[11:20]
  • “The more I understood, the more aware I was of what was going on inside of my mind, inside of my body, my nervous system, the more empowered I was.”[12:10]
  • “We don't say people with broken bones have a broken bone disorder. If you have an emotional wound or a psychological wound, you do not have a disorder, you're simply hurt by what has happened.”[12:40]
  • “This is what I mean by people saying nothing traumatic happened to me. It is not what happened to you- it is what is going on inside of your body. Some people will fall in their bone, won't break. Other people will have a tiny trip and their bone would break.” [15:10]
  • “If your parents didn't learn how to respond to emotions during their own childhood, then it's not possible for them to pass that on to you.” [16:20]
  • “Feelings are just feedback.” [17:30]
  • “I am very, very careful about what I watch on social media, and even TV shows. I know what I'm putting into my body, not just food, but information, images, all of those things, has a profound effect on your wellbeing.” [20:40]
  • “Trauma teaches you to close your heart and armor up healing teaches you to open your heart and boundary up.” [24:15]
  • “Your issues are in your tissues. So when you don't process your emotions, your stress response, all of that, it becomes stored in your body.” [25:30]
  • “In order for us to heal it, we have to feel it. When it’s stored in our body and we haven't processed it, we become so backed up with unprocessed trauma, that the smallest things can seem life-threatening.” [26:10]
  • “In order to heal the psychological and emotional trauma, just like healing a bone, it takes time and it takes resting.” [27:50]
  • “The last part of healing trauma is rebuilding your ability to trust other people.” [28:45]
  • “The biggest thing about trauma is it leaves us feeling overwhelmed, and it also leaves us feeling isolated.” [32:50]
  • “We can't change the past. We can't change what has happened. We can only change the meaning that we give it.” [34:50]

  • “It doesn’t matter what you have on the outside that either confirms your self worth or rejects it, if you cant determine your own unconditional self worth you will spend your life in survival mode.” [05:00]
  • “Then we fall to the coping strategies that very temporarily take away the noise of not being good enough- but because they don’t give us what we actually need, they reinforce that ‘What’s wrong with me?’ feeling.” [6:30]
  • “It doesn’t matter what we want in life if we don’t believe we are worthy of having it we either won’t attempt to go for it or when we get it we can’t let ourselves enjoy it.”[8:10]

  • “Separate your self worth from the outside. You are worthy because you are born.” [9:35]
  • “I am worthy because I am here. I am not worthy because of how much I get done. I am not worthy because of my relationship status. I am not worthy because of how many followers I have or how many likes I get.” [11:20]
  • “It’s never too late, or too early, to develop that unconditional self worth.” [12:20]

Strategies for Self Worth Transformation [12:30]

  • “Step 1 is awareness. You can’t change what you’re not aware of.” [12:45]
