I was blindsided in October of 2021 with the news of ovarian cancer. This was something that killed my mom in her 80s, my sister at 60, my cousin even younger. We all have cancer in our genes and our immune system is to fight it off. The BRCA gene is a mutant cancer gene that doesn’t kill off cancer. Genetic counseling recommends regular ultrasounds! I was given so many tests that last 2 weeks of October, had a hysterectomy on Nov. 8 and one chemo treatment on Dec. 11. All the cancer was removed but they still talk about the microscopic cells.
