What is up IFF Fam! Welcome to this weeks episode of TURKEY THANKS! We are talking about your favorite thanksgiving food and family traditions. We also dive in a little to the origins of thanksgiving and give some perspective on how we think it should be celebrated. Thanks giving is a time of thanks for the many things you have in your life every year, but is it still relevant to try and tie it into a history piece that is tainted with pain and suffering, instead of the happy go lucky narrative it was painted in when you were a kid? While we are not experts in the field, nor are we educated historians, we believe that voicing opinions and examining old traditions help us in creating new ones, and separating the old from the new. We would love to invite anyone who is knowledgeable on the subject to shed some insight or even if someone has a constructive opinion on the matter give us some feedback on our socials!

We also always encourage people to give us some ideas for the things you'd like to discuss on our weekly podcasts!

Good morning IFF fam and Happy Monday! I hope you are having a great week this week and are ready for some good grub come Thursday! This weeks Weekly Keys is all about what are some of the reasons that keep you up at night. Now are some of the ways you manage those things and do you ever take note of the things that trigger your inability to sleep and get some good zzz's? With Holidays in full swing, several things can trigger our brains to work in hyperdrive, but it is all about how we manage that so we don't burn out by the end of the season.

I would love to hear your thoughts and get some feedback on what you wrote down for this weeks journal entry. Don't forget to follow along with our blog over on the website. I am linking the blogs below for you to join in the convo there as well!

Good Morning IFF Fam! Hope you are ready for a little Q & A with your two fave Hot Seat Queens. Heather and I will be discussing an interesting topic this week, how people react when strangers speak to you. Or, in some cases, how you feel when you want to or need to speak to a stranger. Some of today's questions I pose is it something in how we were nurtured by parents to "not talk to strangers" that has created a multitude of emotions and fear of speaking to strangers? Or is it a generational gap/ character disposition? (I.e. introverts vs. extroverts). Is there something about how we have relied so heavily on our phones/social media to converse with each other, that it has made it difficult to converse face to face?

Join us in this weeks conversation and let us know your opinions and thoughts.
Breaking down the barriers and being more cognizant of how we interact with each other allow us so many opportunities to broaden our horizons and learn from each other. We would love to hear and learn from y'all!

Good Morning IFF Fam! I hope yall are having a fantastic start to your week, and I hope yall are staying safe and warm! This weeks Weekly Keys is about "What is the first thing or maybe "things", that you saved up for to buy when you were younger? Or maybe even into your adult hood? Why does that stick out to you the most? What value does it hold in your life? Normally, things that we find important enough to save up for carry some emotional, physical or mental weight to them, and I find it interesting what some of those things are to different people.

I would love to hear your thoughts and get some feedback on what you wrote down for this weeks journal entry. Don't forget to follow along with our blog over on the website. I am linking the blogs below for you to join in the convo there as well!

WARNING This episode may be a little triggering for some, and if it is please reference the bottom resources and skip over the listening bit. We are here to help, not hurt and put this disclaimer on the podcast before we went too deep into it.

For the rest of our IFF fam, this week's weekly Podcast with Heather and me is about Sexual abuse. We get into the nitty-gritty of a small slice of sexual abuse. However, we bring up topics of victim blaming, slut shaming, justice around reporting or the lack of it, and abortion. All really hard things to talk about, but we know that the fewer people talk about it, the less awareness and change we are going to be able to make.

Join us this week in the conversation, and let us hear what you thought. Again, if there is a story you like to share or questions you have and you want to speak to us directly, we have our contact info at the bottom. You can DM us at any time and we will reply back. This is a serious issue that too many people have to fight through and they suffer in silence. We are here to support and help in any way that we can.
If you took anything away from this podcast or you think someone would gain a lot from taking a listen, please share this podcast with a friend or family member!

Good Morning IFF Fam! I hope y'all are having a fantastic week and hope y'all are ready for this weeks Weekly Keys Prompt. This week we are digging into bad habits, and specifically what is a bad habit that you would like the change. I think we get caught up a lot in our habits and let them ride because it is just something we are so used to doing on a day to day basis. We don't ever really think about how they effect us in the long run and it isn't until we crash and burn that we really know that something is causing it from a deep level. On this episode I talk a little about how my bad habit is giving into what is easy in my life and how that keeps me from doing things that I need to in order to manage my stress and anxiety better. Like working out and eating the way I need to, to stay healthy.

What is a bad habit that you'd like to change permanently? What are some things you are going to start doing to change those habits?

Don't forget to come give us some feedback on our socials and share with your friends and families if you found some value in these journal prompts. Heyyyyy! Good Morning IFF fam and welcome to this week's Hot Seat with heather and I. Join us as we dig into some previous experiences with teachers and how much the education system has changed from the previous years. Some good, some bad, but always with the ideas of how do they influence our kids? Do you think that because of how they are getting paid that they aren't so eager to want to dive in and support our kids? In a way they need through after school tutoring, or creating outlets and after school programs to help them stay engaged and explore productive avenues of interests?

We know the world is constantly changing and it's something that we have to change with it, or get left in the dust. What are some opinions or observations you have of the ever changing school systems? What do you like, and what are some things you'd like to see change?

Chime in on some of the things you took away from this podcast and if there are some tidbits in here that really shook your world or maybe have lit a bulb off in your head, feel free to share this podcast with a friend or family member!

Good morning IFF fam! I really wanted to put this journal prompt up cause as the bigger holidays start to approach, I know I start evaluating how I can stack my life and make the most out of my time that I have. Cleaning, by far is one of the things that takes up the most time. On my days off, I can take a couple of hours cleaning the house and another 30 minutes every other few days in between, doing dishes, washing and folding laundry or vacuuming and mopping the floors. One of the things I would pay some good money for is a self cleaning robot, (cause lord knows a maid would cost me way too much in a month).

What is something you'd like to see invented that would help you stack your life or give you more time back to reinvest it into something else? Don't forget to come give us some feedback on our socials and share with your friends and families if you found some value in these journal prompts.

Happy Monday IFF Fam, and welcome to this week's weekly podcast! Happy Halloween to our favorite Ghouls, Ghosts, and Goblins! We have been looking forward to this month all year, and now it is finally here! We hope you join us as we embark on the conversation around what your favorite candy is, if you think trick or treating is slowly dying, and how you view the stigma around "slutty outfits".

We would love to hear what some of your favorite traditions are for Halloween. Maybe even let us in on some of your favorite haunted houses (minus the clowns for Tori's sake haha). Please join us on our socials and let's talk about one of the best seasons of the year! It just might spook ya to hear other people's traditions and maybe spark some new ones of your own.

Good Afternoon IFF Fam! I hope your week has started off on the right foot, and even if it hasn't, that is okay. There is still plenty of time to adjust and recalibrate. This weeks weekly keys is something simple. We are talking about first homes. Fond memories of a childhood home, or maybe your first proud moment of buying your first home, moving in with a spouse. Either way, having the stability and feeling comfortable and safe in your home has a huge impact to your mental health. It was until I moved into my current apartment that I realized the last two apartments I lived in were out of necessity and survival. This one, I have truly been able to make it into a home and I feel good about where I am at. Granted, I want to be in a house with a big back yard for the dogs in the near future, but for now, this is a good space.

Hello Iff Fam! Happy Monday, and welcome to this week's hot seat , or as I like to call it, the thoughtful seat. This weeks episode is on a topic that is a deep passion of mine, and its over depression. Depression is something that millions of people suffer from around the globe. Depression is a mental health condition, and effects people in different ways and in different severities. Additionally, many cases of depression go unreported and something that we want to talk about in this episode is knowing some of the symptoms and the different kinds of depressions.

This is definitely a conversation I want to invite any and all to speak up on, as this is a subject that has a lot of negative stigma around and something that severely impacts the lives of those we love. Sometimes without us even knowing how badly it is affecting them.

I am going to attach a couple of resources at the bottom of the page to help support either you or someone you know that might be battling depression. It is something that is manageable with the right support systems.

Chime in on some of the things you took away from this podcast and if there are some tidbits in here that really shook your world or maybe have lit a bulb off in your head, feel free to share this podcast with a friend or family member!

Hey Hey Hey, good morning IFF Fam! Welcome to this week's Weekly Keys Journal Prompt! It has been a super stressful weekend and last couple of weeks for me. So I had to take some time to breathe and meditate on my emotions and let the negative energy go. Now I am ready for whatever life throws at me. I hope y'all are ready to talk about taking up space. Normally, when you hear someone say "taking up space", you think about the literal form of walking into a room and owning it. Whether you are interviewing, or talking to a colleague or doing a presentation. However, in this instance we are talking about taking a few moments out of your day to take up space in moments of your day, to allow yourself just to observe the beauty around you. Allow your senses to absorb everything around you. Feel the connection in the energy flow through you.

I would love to hear what thoughts you came up as you journal this weeks prompt in your notebooks. This journey looks different for everyone and I love being on this one with you.

As you know these podcasts are free and if you found any value in them, please feel free to share them with loved ones! We would also love to hear your feedback on our socials and even any ideas you might have on future journal entries!

Good morning Iff Fam! Who is ready for this week's hot seat with heather?! Join us as we discuss the difference between whole food vs. half food. You're probably scratching your head trying to figure out what in the world we are talking about. Simple answer is this, processed foods. We go to the grocery store and even those seemingly healthy snacks that are conveniently located in small, bite-sized snacks are proven to be worse than your favorite fruit roll-ups.

This episode helps open your eyes to the thing that normally make it on your grocery runs, and makes you think twice about some of the convenience items you throw in your grocery cart before heading to check out.

Good morning IFF Fam! Welcome to the spooky time of year! October kicks of the start of the holidays (which are fast approaching), but here at What the IFF, we wanted to take some time and make sure to talk about something equally as scary as the ghosts and ghouls in the Haunted Houses. That my friend is Breast Cancer.

The purpose of this episode is to break down some of the facts about breast cancer. We'll discuss some of the risks and preventative measures you can take to help lower your chances of developing breast cancer. I do want to preface that Heather and I are NOT medical professionals and everything we discuss in this podcast is for information purposes. All the data and research we have done are from published articles and journals done by medical board-certified doctors and the Center for Disease Control. We are not liable for any of the information that you obtain from this podcast and ALWAYS encourage/recommend you seek guidance from your Primary Care doctor if you have any questions.

That being said, we would still LOVE to hear your take and thoughts on the subject of breast cancer. Feel free to share your personal story, or perhaps if you have some different points of view or you've done some additional research and have some resources to recommend, we would love to hear your feedback!
We will be posting a snippet of this on our socials and would be excited to start the conversation with you!

What is up IFF Fam! We are so excited to have you join us this week on our weekly Hot Seat podcast with Heather and Victoria. This week's subject is Sustainability. How sustainable do you think you are? I will tell you, I thought I was making great strides in being on purpose with my recycling. I also thought I was doing great in using environment-friendly/ eco-conscious products. However, as heather got deeper into her hip fire, I felt the heat in how much work I still needed to do to make a smaller impact and footprint on our world.

Join us in taking the test to see how sustainable you are and how you feel about your results. Would there be something different you do to be more sustainable on a day-to-day basis? What are some of those things?

Good morning IFF Fam! Hoping you are having a fantastic week and thanks for joining us this week! Its Victoria's turn to put Heather in the hot seat as we get her perspective on the ever changing job market, and their requirements for their new applicants as they fill roles. The topic that we are going over, especially with the new "debt relief" that is going into effect here soon is: Are college degree's necessary for those that want a steady and financially stable paying career? Are jobs becoming more lax on the expectation of a candidate having a degree, or finally putting value to a candidate with or without a degree?

We would love to hear your feedback on what you thought of the episode and how you perceive the job market as it is changing with the new generation of job seekers coming into the market. Do you think there is pressure that is put on kids both from their educational institution, and their parents that college degrees are a must?
If you found any value in this podcast or enjoy some of the subjects/ topics that we come up with and we would greatly appreciate if you shared this with your friends and family!

Good Morning IFF Fam! I hope yall are having a fantastic start to your week! This weeks Weekly Keys Prompt is all about how you handle compliments! I feel like for some people its very awkward and they arent sure how to take them and run with them. On the opposite spectrum, others have the ability to take them so graciously and say thank you or have a level of confidence when they say "I know!". I always wonder, at what point in our lives does that shift, what caused it to be approached or handled the way it is when you are giving or recieving compliments?

I have always been interested in, is what are some of the difficulties people have with giving compliments? Do some people feel weird with one man telling another man that he likes his style, or maybe a woman is hesitant to tell another woman that she has pretty eyebrows, or whatever that looks like.

What do you yall think on the subject? Are compliemnts something we should get better at giving more freely? Do you think there are more rooted causes or issues as to why people have a difficult accepting compliments from others?

As you know these podcasts are free and if you found any value in them, please feel free to share them with loved ones! We would also love to hear your feedback on our socials and even any ideas you might have on future journal entries!

Good Morning IFF Fam! Sorry for the late post this week, technology got the better of me in scheduling these podcasts to go live on Mondays. Either way, we are here together, and I am ready for other great Weekly Keys Journal Prompt with yall! This week's prompt hits home for me because of all the changes and transitions I am going through in my personal and professional life. I wanted to share some of my memories with yall, and would love to hear you share some of your own thoughts on the subject!

If there was one piece of advice you'd want your kids to carry around with them for the rest of their life. Out of all the advice you give them, the one that stands out and sticks with them through all of the trials and tribulations that they go through. What would that advice be?

I think you'd be surprised at what sticks out to your kids when you are trying to teach them about life, and how you think about and approach life helps shape how they cope/ manage their own lives.

As you know these podcasts are free and if you found any value in them, please feel free to share them with loved ones! We would also love to hear your feedback on our socials and even any ideas you might have on future journal entries!

We want to put a disclaimer on this one y'all. This podcast is a triggering episode for ANYONE that has directly or indirectly dealt with suicide. I will have some resources at the bottom of this intro. They are listed in big, bold letters. There for anyone that needs the resources.

Help Is Available:
988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline
741741- Text Help
https://www.granthalliburton.org/

Suicide is something that we feel is not taken seriously enough until it is too late. Maybe we don't see the signs, or if we do, maybe we dismiss the signs and displace them onto some other emotion, feeling, or life event that is going on in our life, or someone close to us. Our passion at WTIFF is mental health on all levels, but when it comes to suicide prevention, we are a firm believer that it should be something that is normalized to talk about all year long. If this podcast helps out even one person in seeing the signs, or having more awareness around it and how to approach someone, or even doing a mental check-in with someone, then we have done our job.

Even if this is a podcast you don't listen to very often, or if this is your first time listening to us. Please, share this podcast. You never know what life you might help in having someone listening to this topic being talked about.

What is up IFF Fam! It is that time of the week where we get together and set our weekly keys and journal together! This weeks weekly keys is something that I am excited to discuss because I feel like we all struggle with distractions. No matter if we have a paper to write for school, or a presentation that we are working on for work, a distraction will pop its head up and sometimes we don't even notice it. Now instead of working diligently on the things that have deadlines or that need our undivided attention, we are waist deep in a convo with our BFF or consuming reels on instagram.

What are some ways that you get distracted and how to separate or space yourself away from those distractions so they aren't keeping you from getting your work done?

As you know these podcasts are free and if you found any value out of them, please feel free to share them with loved ones! We would also love to hear your feedback on our socials and even any ideas you might have on future journal entries!

Hey Iff Fam! Welcome back to this week's "HOT SEAT" Q & A! We are going to get it going right out the gate, this week's episode, Victoria digs in deep on how stress and anxiety effects our kiddos and, as their parents, we can help them with managing their triggers and coping with acute stress so it doesn't turn crescendo into chronic stress. What are some things you have noticed in your kids when they are under a high amount of stress? How do you address it with them in a positive way that allows them to feel safe and be heard? What are some ways you help them with managing and coping their stress and anxiety levels? How do you manage your own mental health when you are needing to be a parent first and put their needs in front of your own?

Join us in this conversation and give us feedback on what some of your responses would be to the questions Victoria asks.

Hey Iff Fam! Welcome back to this week's "HOT SEAT" Q & A! Jumping right into it, this week's episode, Heather does a random hip fire where she helps our listeners, (and her guest, Victoria) assess what they revert to when they have an ailment or a symptom. How do you treat a headache, an upset stomach, or maybe something that you deal with long-term, like stress and anxiety? This activity is here to segway into the conversation that many of us have had with our close family and friends, about Alternative vs Modern medicine. Do you look into what causes your ailments? Or do you just go to the doctor and take whatever treatment they prescribe to treat the symptoms? Do you believe that how you handle your sickness or symptoms addresses your long-term issues or do you think it is a temporary bandaid that is issued to you to solve your immediate needs?

Join us in this conversation and give us feedback on what some of your responses would be to the questions Heather asks.

Good Morning Iff Fam! Welcome to this week's Weekly Keys. I wanted to start this week off with something light-hearted and something to just ease our minds into, as heather and I have been diving into some pretty deep conversations in our other podcast.

This week's Weekly Keys is on self-reflecting on if you prefer to watch a sunrise or watch a sunset. I know there are tons of people that like to get up early and beat the sun, getting their workout in or their morning cup of coffee before the sun starts to peak its head out. (Side note I am NOT one of those people haha). Or are you one of those people, like me that resonates more with the moon and enjoys watching the world start to settle in and get ready for bed as the sun starts to set? How does that make you feel no matter which one you prefer?

Let us know on our socials, or visit our website and let us know in our community chat. How did this podcast serve you this week? Are there topics you'd like to discuss or use as a subject in our Weekly Keys discussions? I'd love to hear your feedback!

What is up IFF fam! Welcome to this week's episode of the "HOT SEAT" Q & A. Join us as heather gets to dig deep into how she perceives her failures and where they stem from. We delve into what the root cause of the perception of failure is and how this directly affects our decisions and actions as adults.

We would love to hear your feedback on this week's podcast and give us your perspective on what you feel like you have failed at in life, but more importantly, how it has shaped the things you do and the way you approach life's difficult decisions.

Good morning IFF fam! I hope life has been good for you all, and I am so glad to be back from some of my birthday festivities! I am feeling rejuvenated and ecstatic to start back up our weekly keys conversation!

Over the next few weeks, we are going to be talking about more subjects that help us with self-awareness in certain parts of our lives. This week is going to be about self-awareness in some of the mess in our lives. Now, this doesn't have to be a physical mess. It could be some emotional baggage that you haven't unpacked and it is affecting your mental health, or maybe your planner is all over the place as far as missed dates, unconfirmed appointments, etc. Whatever it is that is outside of the norm or (like me), there is something that you know needs to change but you just haven't gotten around to addressing/fixing it. Now is the time to dissect it and come up with an action plan.

Let's help each other, dig into to the root, and start the fixing process.
I'd love to hear your feedback on the comments section of our socials.

Guys and gals, I hope yall are having a fantastic week so far, and thank you for joining me again for this week's Weekly Keys Prompts:
This week's journal entry will be: What is the best thing about being either single or partnered (whichever you are right now)?

It gets tough for me sometimes to see the positives of being single. A girl gets lonely, and doubt starts creeping in on if I will ever find that love that I was blessed to see my grandmother and grandfather have growing up as a kid. But then, I take a step back and relish in all the freedoms that singledom allows me. I can appreciate the different levels of growth I can cultivate in the single seasons of my life.

What are some of the things you enjoyed/ enjoy when you were/are single or if you are currently in a relationship? I'd love to hear your feedback on the comments section of our socials.

Sorry for the short hiatus last week yall; life knocked me down; I'm not out yet!
Time to get back on this horse with this week's mini series continuing. This week's journal entry will be: What's the last experience you had where you lost track of time?! What did you take away/ gain from it?

I know I can be a planner and get so caught up in wanting to do everything that makes everyone in my group happy. However, when we go on a trip, sometimes, I forget to breathe in and relish in the moment and experience. I have been trying to make more of a cognitive effort when planning events, outings, and tips with family, friends, and myself.

I'd love to hear your feedback and stories of experiences you lost track of time. How did it affect you short-term and long-term?
Let me know!

"Whoa, there is no way I would ever be able to wear that!"

We have all had this thought pop up in our minds when we see some of the outfits other people wear. Whether they are out running errands, stepping into their favorite bar or club for the weekend, or even browsing the clothing racks at our favorite stores. We come across that one top, bottom, dress, or accessory that we would be crazy to try and pull off. But are we really crazy? Have we been conditioned to think that our bodies are meant to fit specific things or that our style is explicitly outlined by the fashion industry on what we should or shouldn't wear? So, we don't even attempt it?

I am here to tell you that you SHOULD wear whatever YOU want. Society and strangers' opinions be damned cause you'll look good in whatever you put on your body! Let's talk about the things we like to wear and why and maybe even venture out to explore some things to wear that we have always been hesitant about.

This week's weekly keys are about body ownership, getting past your insecurities and doing/ wearing what makes you feel good, and pushing outside of your comfort zone!
Join us on our socials and website to start the conversations! Wed love to hear your input and how crazy you get with your wardrobe!

Let's get a little cooky this week and take a small break from deep diving into the psyche and thoughts.

Let's talk books! My favorite subject, but more importantly, I am interested to hear y'alls take on the issue. If you were to classify yourself as a book, what shelf would you be on? What are some book genres that you have been drawn to/ continue to check out every time you get an itch to swing by the local book store and pick up a new book?

Books give us insight into so many different things, and I love getting book recommendations from people. Not only is it interesting to read something I probably never would have found on my own, but getting a glimpse into the mind of fellow human beings always excites me. To share this journey of life with them through what we read together. Let's get to know each other and grow together through some conversations on BOOKS!
Leave a comment on our socials or head over to the website and we can have a discussion on it in the comments of the Book Nook!

Good morning Iff Fam! This week's Weekly Keys is something we will dive into and explore who is in our Tribe, Community, Village, Inner Circle, or Friends group and how to take time out of our busy lives to prioritize space to grow each other?

Society portrays our social activities to be overflowing and plentiful, but the mental health state of most adults over the age of 20 has proved that is FALSE. So how do we fix it? By engaging in self-awareness of how much time we spend with our friends, opening the dialogue about what they need from us, and speaking about the season we are in, we can begin to support each other better. What that means for us at the moment—being a level of support and giving capacity and grace to the ones closest to us that need it. We can go a long way toward better mental health stability by supporting each other.  Super excited to hear all of y'alls feed back and thoughts on this!

Welcome to this week's edition of Weekly Keys. As we wrap up our Mental Health Awareness Month of May, I want you to think about what you do for yourself as a part of your "self-care strategies."

Do you feel that they serve you on a high level, or are there some changes and adjustments you need to make for them to be more effective and impact you on a deeper level? If not, what are some things you have thought about changing or adopting to have a better self-care regimen?

Let's dig in.

Don't forget to give us your feedback on our social's so we can connect with you on this topic. We will also have a blog following this podcast for you to read and connect with the community there. We genuinely love your feedback as it gives us insight and fresh perspectives, and who knows, maybe you'll teach us something different or help someone else struggling with finding a self-care regimen that they need to feel better in one of their domains.

Did you know that there are several ways to express yourself? Silly questions, I know, especially since most of us will say, "well, duh." But have you ever thought about how you express yourself? When someone asks you, How do you feel? How do you respond? Is it with an emotional verb, a thought, or where your mental space is at, or do you describe a physical sensation or feeling? I ask this because we live in a society where not many people can differentiate between the three or do not know how to express themselves in a multifaceted way.

In this episode, I am opening up the forum for us to discuss "How you are feeling" and why writing a journal prompt about it can help you explore these multi levels of emotions and feelings. Help you dig into why you feel the way you do and how to discuss those feelings with those close to you openly in a safe and supported way.

In this introductory mini series, we will be talking about how setting habits is essential and, more importantly, how journaling weekly or daily affect your intentions with your mental health. This week, it's all about self reflection on what you need right now. Take some time for yourself and lets dig in.
