Theme: The brother or sister in a Covenant of Grace with the God of Israel is born entirely depraved and without any ability to contribute to their salvation and rescue themselves from the dungeon of putrid sin. Thus, boasting is contrary to Christian graces or holiness as Christ alone is our righteousness, despite our being individually the least worthy to be called children of Him.

Theme: As Covenantal brothers and sisters, we are charged to glorify and enjoy Christ in all things and must, like children, fully trust that He is governing all things according to His counsel and will. Jehovah, from all eternity, has fixed the number of our days for His glory, and we must make holy use of all our time, as it is a precious talent He has mercifully granted us.
