Oh happy day! Happy Pride!

So hear us out... We had to break it down to y'all that we have seen folks claim an ethic around abstention of meat, but treat animals horribly, AND we've seen some of the most humane people in the world are meat eaters. We also want to discuss in this and in part two how no part of creation is above another and how spiritual practices of indigenous people show that.

Grab that horchata bbs, and let's have a chat! Enjoy!

Happy Spring Loved ones!

Guess what… new series alert! We’re getting into our diets, as herbalists! We always say food is medicine, and we want you to understand that plants as food IS also herbal medicine. We breakdown the nutritional profiles of veggies, define vegan, vegetarian and plant-based. Above all, we give vegans their flowers for holding down an extreme part of the diet spectrum that has benefited all of us.

This is a powerful intro for this new series! We can’t wait for you all to get into it with us!! Grab a genmaicha hot or over ice and an apple, and let’s get it poppin’!

Isss a beautiful day babes,

So happy to be with you today, sharing another episode in our “Sex as Medicine” series! Happy Holla-days babes,

We are ending the sacred smokes series in a very special way by engaging in the medicine of Myrrh. Myrrh is a resin from the middle east that we are calling on for it’s healing properties at a time like this; a war, a genocide and the celebration of the birth of one of the most famous Palestinian Jews on Earth, Jesus Christ.

Brew up a cup on mint tea and lets chat!

Greetings, loved ones!

This is a reprise of one of our favorite episodes to prepare the folks for our upcoming course... SOUL FOOD GENIUS!! Enjoy!

Brought to you from North Carolina... we’re being petty about eating RAW GREENS. Many of our ancestors derived good eats and nutrition from green veggies, cooked low and slow. So, why are people now eating raw greens? They are probably disconnected from culture and sacred foods, they’re just too busy, or they don’t know that you cannot derive the nutrients from these foods without cooking. We’re here to educate y’all. Please take time for yourself, and make this sacred food with us!

Enjoy, eat, and COOK THOSE GREENS!

Here are some resources of items we've discussed in this week's POD:

  • Everyday Utopia by Kristen R. Ghodsee
  • Justin Robinson’s IG @countrygentlemancooks
  • Raw Foods and Cooked Plant Foods
  • Reclaiming the ancient Wheat
  • Raw food impact on the thyroid
  • Fiber feeds your microbiome
  • What are superfoods?
  • Apiaceae or Umbelliferae is a plant family that includes celery, carrot and parsley family, and are also called umbellifers.

Greetings, friends!

This is our final episode recording in North Carolina, and this time we were in Durham!
