It won a Pulitzer Prize in 1983, a movie was made with the same title in 1985, a musical Broadway production ran from 2005 to 2008, a Broadway revival opened in 2015 thru 2017 and now in 2023 a film adaptation of the musical of the same name will be out on 12/25/23. The reactions and comments about the original film and the new musical have been controversial. His decision to join the armed forces was largely influenced by his father’s service as a Senior Master Sergeant. As the son of military man, Mr. Hooker was exposed to frequent talks of service to country, travel overseas, and a strong sense of discipline.
After leaving the military Mr. Hooker worked at Hercules Steel but soon realized that there were better opportunities available and started additional work at Fayetteville State. While working Mr. Hooker attended Fayetteville Tech. and was encouraged to use his military benefits to their full extent and focus solely on completing his courses.
After graduating from Fayetteville Tech he moved to Greensboro, North Carolina and enrolled at North Carolina A&T State University in 2005. While attending A&T, he utilized the discipline he learned while in the military to focus himself on his goal of obtaining his Masters degree. During his time at A&T Mr. Hooker remained on the Dean’s List every year, acted as History Scholar President for two years, volunteered within the History Department, and was a member of Phi Alpha Theta, the National History Honor Society.

Your host, Viyahta welcomes Dr. Donald H. Bailey, a Medical Intuitive and animal healer. Dr. Bailey attended Denison University and completed medical school at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. His internship program the University Hospital in Jacksonville, Fl. He was then hired to open an urgent care center in Savannah, Ga. This quickly developed into a large Family Practice as well. After Dr. Bailey developed fibromyalgia and environmental illness in 1988 and then herniated discs ten years later, he moved into Pain Medicine, bringing his own experiences in healing with alternative therapies into his practice.
After getting minimal relief from his pain and anxiety/depression issues with traditional medicine he began exploring differing forms of energy therapies-finding powerful aspects in several techniques and molding his own approach. As he began to heal his own issues he found he had increasing insight into the health problems of others, as well as animals (healing his own Labrador Retriever of cancer).
The more people and animals he worked with the more insight and intuition he developed-becoming both a medical intuitive and empath. He practices both hands-on and distance healing. His belief is that any medical condition can be healed by freeing up the individuals own inner healing intelligence and immune system. His approach is to teach others to learn to heal themselves, their loved ones, and their pets. He teaches skills that anyone can use on an ongoing basis to stay well.
