POV: you’re thirteen years old at your first retreat. This beautiful woman with perfect hair comes on stage. She shows you a picture of her gorgeous husband, and she starts telling you all about her story, their love story. You try to relate, but you have frizzy hair. You don’t look like her. You’ve never been asked out because you’re thirteen. Then you heard about being a woman of God, kind of. Fast forward, and all of a sudden you’re 25 and single and not sure what to do with that as a woman following Christ. Who am I? What am I supposed to be? Yea girl, us too. Let’s talk.
let’s talk about MERCY. let’s talk about how God calls us anyway, even though we’re broken, our lives are messy, and we don’t know what we’re doing. let’s talk about the way the Lord doesn’t need to use us, but He wants to, even in our mess. We don’t have to be perfect and then say yes, we just have to say yes.
let’s talk more about fruitfulness. let’s talk about the fruit we don’t get to see, and that seeing the fruit of our labor is a gift, not a right. let’s talk about the fruitfulness of emptiness, and let’s talk about spending ourselves. all of this whole getting to know my good friend and amazing woman, Rachel!
let’s talk about a few of the thousands of ways women have born fruit in our lives. let’s talk about how the Holy Spirit has used us to bear fruit in the lives of others. let’s talk about what it means to be connected to the vine, and how we have to fully depend on the Lord in order to bear any kind of fruit in our lives.

let’s talk about choosing joy. let’s talk about living a full live for your whole life, even pre your primary vocation. let’s talk about the importance of brotherhood of the men in our life. let’s talk about desert days and letting God be God. honestly, let’s talk about all the things today!
let’s talk about REST. and not Netflix binge or even spa day rest, but the kind of rest that re-creates us. let’s talk about how we were created for leisure, not for work, and how our world flips that. let’s talk about how productivity does not define our success, and how we are created for Heaven, which is leisure.

Let’s talk about loving and taking care of ourselves. Let’s talk about how I am a body and a soul, with dignity and worth. Let’s talk about how God desires for me to REST. Productivity is good, but not what we are created for.
okay, so honestly we do talk a little about dating today, cause when you talk about how to have good friendships with men it tends to come up as a side effect. BUT still come join us and our friends John, Cole and David and let’s talk about the importance of, and how to have, good, holy, healthy, platonic friendships with the men in your life. they reveal something about God to us that women don’t, and we need that!
let’s talk about SISTERHOOD. let’s talk about female friendships, girls supporting girls, and choosing each other. let’s talk about humility and vulnerability. We’re also just so excited to introduce two of the lovely women we get to call our friends and sisters!
let’s talk about the Holy Spirit. Let’s talk about how we understand Him, talk to Him, and have a relationship with Him. Let’s talk about why that’s important, why we need it, and how we become holier. Let’s talk about power, peace, and sanctity. Let’s talk about our need for salvation and our need for a best friend. Let’s also talk about Gilmore Girls, Harry Potter and PowerPoint parties.
Let’s talk about being strong, independent women who are also weak and dependent. Let’s talk about how we can be authentic with God the Father, how He loves us, chooses us, and how He is real. Let’s talk about our identity as mother. Let’s talk about spiritual motherhood and women who are a safe place for us to unfurl, to sometimes unravel, and to have a shelter from the storm. Secretly, we are really proud of this episode. Let us know what you think!
Let’s talk about why we can walk into a room with confidence in front of the people there, how we can put our identity as daughter to work by recognizing the dignity of daughter and son in the people around us, and encouraging them in who they are, and choosing vulnerability and humility to allow other people to do the same for us.
Let’s talk about the first of three key identities of a woman: daughter. We are created as daughters and can live in radical security because of our identity as daughter of the Heavenly Father. We each share times when we have learned this, whether its through experience of fatherhood on earth, coming to better understand Scripture over time, or the early 2000s CW.
We promise we aren’t always this negative. BUT we are starting that way. In our first full episode (eeek!) we decided to spend time talking about some of the lies that both the secular world and Christian circles tell us that women should be that ultimately don’t encapsulate the truth of womanhood. We know there’s more lies out there, what are your thoughts?
