He joined the IBWA (International Black Writers and Artists), participated in their development workshops, and became a recipient of the IBWA SEED Scholarship to attend UCLA's Creative Writing classes. In 1994 his first published short story, "Thirteen," appeared in the IBWA's River Crossing: Voices of the Diaspora-An Anthology of the International Black Experience. A second short story, "Days Gone By," was published in the magazine A Place to Enter.

Singer and Actress Tasha Scott is ready to return to fame, with the official launch of her music career. Born and raised in Louisville, KY – Tasha Scott knew at the tender age of eight, that she wanted to sing after winning a talent show. Trai “Hoosier” Jones, 28 years old grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana in the heart of the “Land” on
29 th and Rader. Living with his grandmother he was surrounded by family at all times. Although
his family was broken, that is all he knew and could rely on. Growing up, music was always
playing, especially by his uncle. It gave him a sense of home , love and peace. His uncle
encouraged him to rap, but he was too shy. Hoosier’s mother was always there for him, but his
father was absent because he was incarcerated in the state prison for 14 years. As a teenager,
he dealt with being the youngest of his mother’s children. It was hard to find his place. By the
time he reached high school, his dad was out of prison and his family was reunited. But
between school and home, his life became more complicated and caused him to leave
Indianapolis for Dayton, Ohio.
In Dayton, Hoosier found himself engulfed in the street life. While hustling on the street,
rapping merged into his life. Expressing his life story in his lyrics made his style of rap unique to
him. He began to find his own way and create his own lane. Music gave him a reason to do
something positive in his troubled surroundings. He began to perform in clubs while he was
underage just to make a name for himself. The response made him decide to become more

Tahree Amir is a 22 year old trumpet player who was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and had spent most of his life in California before moving to Georgia. He began playing the trumpet in the seventh grade and was inspired by Chet Baker, Louis Armstrong, Miles Davis, and Freddie Hubbard. After serving in the United States Air Force between 1952-1956, I left my hometown of Louisville, KY, to follow my dream of being an actor. In New York, I attended The American Academy of Dramatic Art, graduating in 1959.
I got acting parts in Off-Broadway theaters and in 1967, became a founding member of the then new Negro Ensemble Company. I toured the U.S. and Europe with them.
I have worked extensively Off-Broadway in movies, television, and commercials. In 2005, I was honored to receive the NAACP and City of Los Angeles Trailblazer Award.
My other passion is photography, particularly of the posters I saw posted on outdoor walls on the New York streets that I walked every day. I was stunned by the “impromptu art” I saw, all by anonymous artists.
In 1964, I bought my first camera, a Leica 111B. During the next year, I started shooting walls. In the beginning, most of what I shot were advertisements for movies, plays and jazz concerts. But over time, I began to see a change in posters; the late 1960’s and 1970’s gave rise to protest art.
During these 50 years, I have concentrated on small torn paper posters; I call these ripped posters “atmospherically developed.” The torn images that might have started out large have become, what I see as abstract art. They were all paper images adhered to the walls with paste, which breaks down over time and in all sorts of weather. As the paper breaks down, each poster develops into a beautiful abstract form.
I work this way; I walk all over town and photograph whatever I see. Looking back, I see my archive of thousands of photos as a quasi-historical document of 50 years of the history of jazz, politics and theatre in New York.

The first time Busby was shot was July 10, 2016. He was at a local laundromat in Inglewood, CA when a gunman aimed on him close range firing seven shots and hitting him. Then again, on May 6, 2017, Busby’s life was almost snatched for the second time. While in front of his grandparent’s Inglewood home, a car pulled up just 15 feet away and opened fired on him with an assault rifle. With a total of 18 shots were fired, four bullets hit David’s car and one pierced his head. These traumatizing ordeals would have pushed many into despondency and depression, but instead they fueled Busby to live his life to fullest.

Alex Thomas Jr. is an American Actor and stand-up comedian who was born and raised in South Central Los Angeles. Thomas first broke into the entertainment business as a teenage dancer on the hit long running TV show Soul Train. While on Soul Train he became great friends with one of the stars of the show, Rosie Perez. After High school Rosie Perez became the choreographer on the hit TV show In Living Color. Alex soon after became her Asst. choreographer for the first two seasons of the show. Lavell William Crump (born April 11, 1974), better known by his stage name David Banner, is an American rapper, record producer, and actor. Banner's music career first began as a member of the rap duo, Crooked Lettaz. He became a solo artist in 2000, releasing his first title "Them Firewater Boyz, Vol. 1". Since 2000, Banner went on to release several successful titles including the 2003 album title "Mississippi: The Album", followed up by a sequel title "MTA2: Baptized in Dirty Water" released after the success of the first MTA album. He went on to release titles including "Certified", in 2005. Three years later, Banner returned with a new title "The Greatest Story Ever Told". graduate who is pursuing her career as an artist. She only lived in the Bronx for a brief period of
time and
then moved to Queens, where she resided most of her life. She is African American and French.
Listening to music always put her in a better space and made her happy. After a while of turning
to music to escape everyday problems, she decided to make music of her own. It allows her to
convey very complex and inner thoughts in a more simple and relatable way. She loves creating
music, it’s a passion that keeps her alive.She worked for TSA for about a year, only as a backup
plan, not in place of being an artist.
Kendrick Lamar is one of her musical idols. Kanye West and Jay Z are two artists that she looks
up to in the industry. Her life experiences play a major role in influencing her music, however,
she also sometimes incorporates whatever is in style at the moment. Lauryn Hill, Nas, Eminem,
Tupac are her biggest musical influences.
Diamond started to rap at the age of twelve. When she first started creating/writing her own
music at twelve years old, that’s when she knew music would be her career.
About a year ago (end of 2016) that’s when she decided she wasn’t going to let anything stop her
from achieving her dream career. She has not yet released an album of her own, however, she

Palm Desert, CA - Visual artist Bernard Hoyes has accomplished yet another career defining feat. The master craftsman was recently commissioned by a private collector to recreate the divinely celebrated winged stallion Pegasus, one of the best-known creatures in Greek mythology. The five-foot "Roots of Pegasus" bronze sculpture is currently on display until the end of June as part of the "Below Sea Level" exhibition at the prestigious Melissa Morgan Fine Art Gallery, located at 73040 El Paseo in Palm Desert, CA. At the close of the showing, Pegasus will 'fly' home to his owner, an accomplished equestrian whose family has raised horses for over three generations!

From the earlier years of Hip-Hop, female emcees have worked twice as hard to stake their claim in the music industry. With huge successes for such artists like Salt-N-Pepa, Queen Latifah, MC Lyte and Missy Elliott, the exploitation of sexuality was not neccessary to gain success. Of course, much has changes since "U.N.I.T.Y". But, for those old enough to remeber, in the beginning of Hip-Hop's rise to prominence, it was about expectional lyrics and delivery and not a showcase of tits and ass. That is why the introduction of Resse P, a Hip-hop lyricist from Chicago, is so nostalgic and hopeful.
In today's world of Hip-Hop, the exploitation of female sexuality plays a dominant role in the success of most women emcees. That is no surprize to anyone with a radio or spofity account. I spent my highschool years in OKC before I moved to Clinton, Oklahoma, which I was a resident there all the way up until a couple years ago i moved to Enid, Oklahoma. My artist name is Amilli London. Alot of people always ask how I came up with the name Amilli London. I actually went thru quite a bit of names before I decided on this one. The name actually means "overseas money" hints Amilli London. Plus I wanted something that would be marketable to the public.
Ive been an artist for about 15 years. I started out making and producing my own music before I actually started writing my own lyrics. I touched my first keyboard when I was seven and been hooked to music ever since. Plus, my mom used to play the piano and I would always watch her play and was fascinated about the music she played. I got more into hip hop more than any other genre because of how the music made you move and bounce, it was more culteral and lyricly wise to me was more complicated and structured. On February 24th, 2017, Jamaican-born musician, Jagwa will debut a reinterpreted music video to his recent single release entitled "Chinese Food." It will feature a cameo from Styles P of The LOX who vouchsafes a verse in solidarity of the latest talent to represent Kingston, Jamaica. The reinterpreted music video will be published on Vevo, Facebook, and Youtube under the Jagwa876 channel.
In mid-2016, Jagwa released his first video for "Chinese Food" which gained nearly 2 million views in less than a month. The single had garnered attention largely amongst conscientious Hip-Hop enthusiasts as originally intended. According to Jagwa, "Chinese Food" is not a dancehall track. Jagwa wanted to create a Hip-Hop song while maintaining his style and dialectic. In a recent interview, Jagwa stated, "Just because a Chinese man cooks your food it does not necessarily mean you're eating food from their culture. That is just one of the deeper meanings behind the song to be deciphered."
Director Parris, who filmed both music videos, showcases a 10-second teaser in the latest version. The 10-second vignette is an introduction to what will be Parris' third collaboration with Jagwa for the second single called "I Know." Director Parris' goal is to craft an episodic visualization of the upcoming EP that stylistically encompasses the dynamic storytelling encased in Jagwa's artistry.

Growing up in the East NY section of Brooklyn, NY, Rich Lowe was no stranger to hardship. By the age of three years old, both of his parents were incarcerated, leaving him to depend on his late grandmother Carrie Davis. Music was his only salvation.

In July 2008 Kool Boy made history by being the first dancer to win at the West Coast Hip Hop Awards.Kool Boy has done choreography on Snoop Dogg’s Dogg After Dark show which aired on MTV and has taught dance throughout Southern California. Dretti (29) began rapping at the age of 10. He used to resort to poetry while going through difficult times as a child. In high school he joined a rap group named “Undisputed Squad” and became a well-known artist in the underground music scene of Tennessee.
After high school Dretti embarked on a solo hip hop career, and grew tired of going to the studio and not recording due to a crowd or people just wasting time. He then decided to invest in his own home made recording studio and started his own label Money Pool Entertainment. Dretti would make it a goal to make a song a day and crank out mixtapes faster than anyone competing on any level.
Dretti felt that relocating back to Atlanta where he spent majority of his childhood would be in the best interest of his music career. Dretti is currently in a cast member on the reality show Hip-hop Bootcamp Atlanta. You can catch him performing at multiple venues weekly in the Atlanta area. Ami Miller also known as Ouch Girl Ami is a hip-hop, pop artist, actress, and writer. Born and raised in Houston, Texas, she is the youngest of 7 brothers and sisters. Her parents were very well-rounded. Her mother runs and owns an etiquette and manners company, and her father was a well-known politician and business owner. They were both educators and entrepreneurs. As a young girl, she was enrolled in etiquette and acting classes, as well as multiple types of dance classes including: ballet, jazz, and tap. Along with the dance and acting classes, Ami also sang in her school and church choirs; and soon, she began writing poetry.
As she grew up, Ami started discovering her ability to write rap songs. As the world of hip hop changes so rapidly Mz. Chevy The Rapper born as Latonya Alexandria Hill always think of new and innovative ways to captivate her fans and audience. Raised by her mother along with two sisters in Texas Mz Chevy The Rapper became interested in music at the age of 11. Singing in school and church choirs she began singing hooks for local artist by the age of 13. Slowly making a name for herself by the time she was 15 she was singing in local night clubs and continued to sing hooks for up and coming rappers. Peter has been active as a musician since the mid 1990s. In 1995, he formed an American hip hop duo Lord Tariq and Peter Gunz with his friend Sean "Lord Tariq" Hamilton. On 17th of September 1996, they featured in the Whodini's album Six. Two years later they released their debut album under the title Make It Reign. This album was released on 2nd of June 1998. He has sung several songs in his life.
B-Boi Maaane is an extremely popular staple in the Kentucky music scene where he currently owns and operates GFL Entertainment. GFL stands for "God Family Loyalty" and consists of recording artists B-Boi Maaane, Young Bull, Young OG, Kruizpitchin, Henrich, and King David. B-Boi Maaane is known for his infectious style and unique sound which some describe as “country rap”. He states, “My music is a mixture of our Kentucky slang and infectious beats." Thea Van Seijen, who hails from The Netherlands and resides partially in Europe and USA is the new soul/Jazz/Hip-hop sensation discovered by The RZA. RZA's gift for discovering talents is always on point and remains so to date, a chance meeting outside a studio in Lankershim Boulevard, California with RZA's cousin Daddy O began the musical expedition for Thea, who is blessed with a voice most normally compare to the likes of the renowned Billie Holliday.

James (Heartless Hustler) was born James McCullum Jr. and was raised on the west side of Chicago, Illinois and due to his behavior and all the street violence his parents moved the family to Hopkins Park, Illinois. It was in Hopkins Park that James discovered his love for music. He had duffle bags of notepads filled up by the age of 13 with lyrics and full length records no one knew about.
After his short stay in Hopkins Park his family settled in Joilet where he took his gift of songwriting to another level by recording his first three mixtapes: Summertime Heat; Money, Hoes and Bangas; and Heartless Hustler. James started making beats but the love for it wasn’t the same as writing about the struggle, hardship, and problems at home and in the streets.

Being a fatherless child his Uncle Johnny played a prominate role in cultivating his love for drumming which ultimately lead to trying to master every instrument he came in contact with.Also he was helped by Houston Ross, John Hornsby, Jamal Milner, Ivan Orr, Shonn (Bump) Brown and classical violinist/conductor Laura Mulligan Thomas. Although he didn’t pursue music any further in school after his brief stint in the orchestra, Mr.Gilmore kept a fine knowledge of music with his uncanny ability to hear music over and over in his head. He attended Charlottesville High School and graduated with an Intensive Studies diploma. After graduation Mr.Gilmore was introduced by his good friend , Jamie Johnson (with whom they later started the band Young Groovers) Along with Kareem Brown, Christopher Newman, Chris Hawkins ,Larry and Germaine Hussian. Also along side Curtis Brown,Fred Mitchell, Frank Howard, and Christopher Newman; a rap group was started and almost garnered a label deal with Sony. Their secret get away was stowed away at the top.

Darius McCrary is best known for his role as Eddie Winslow on the long-running television series "Family Matters." He began his career in Hollywood at the age of ten. Carl Terrell Mitchell (born November 27, 1973), better known by his stage name Twista (formerly Tung Twista), is an American hip hop recording artist from Chicago, Illinois. He is perhaps best known for his chopper style of rapping and for once holding the title of fastest rapper in the world according to Guinness World Records in 1992, being able to pronounce 598 syllables in 55 seconds.[2]
