Hey Friend - Welcome to another episode of the Creative Cast. While I’m on this break, I wanted to bring y’all some oldies but goodies. So for the next four weeks, I’ll have YOUR favorite episodes!
I’m returning from my trip to Texas and Florida this week. If you follow Wildfire Creative or me on Instagram, you know I ate my way across the DFW Metroplex, visited Magnolia and Buc-ee's, and rode most of the rollercoasters at Universal Orlando!
Today, I’m re-airing an episode we did with my friend Kirsten Vossler a year ago. In this episode, we’re answering the questions most of us ask: I want to launch a podcast; what do I need to know?

Hey, friend– Today’s episode of the Creative Cast is a SPECIAL one! You see, today I turn 50! What?
Yes - yours truly has hit the big 5-0! I’m not like others who say my age is younger than it is! Nope. I earned each of these years, all 50 of them! I’m proud of them and y’all - it sure beats the alternative, right?
When I started thinking about how to celebrate my birthday on the podcast - I decided it needed to be quite different today in honor of such a milestone.
So I invited my friend, social media extraordinaire, and fellow Queso lover, Melody Belotte, to help me celebrate, and she’s taking over the show today!
Some things that Melody and I discussed:
How my younger days as a gymnast prepared me to be a helpful podcast coach.

Hey, friend– A few weeks ago, during one of the coaching calls, one of my clients mentioned she was thinking of ending her podcast. As we talked through, she realized where she was headed next.
It’s not something we like to think about for our podcast; however, it's a common question that podcasters ask when they don’t see much growth or decreasing downloads!
Here is the truth about podcasts – They won’t all survive. Some will be a victim of podfade. No podcast is meant to last forever.
The ongoing question for podcast hosts and producers to ask when thinking of pulling the plug is whether a show is on its way up, sideways, or out.
In today’s episode, I take a deep dive into why it might be time to wrap up your podcast, seek out some help, or just rebrand your podcast!

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas full of happiness, joy, and peace! (and some fantastic memories too!) This year was full of many transitions - a new business model + a completely new rebrand. We added several new teams and clients this year. I experienced some setbacks thanks to the economy. The other thing that this year brought was podcasting to the forefront - movies and tv shows being made about podcasts, and podcasts being made about TV shows! So much good stuff.
The golden era of podcasting is coming. Get ready, ladies!

This episode finds me still recovering from my hip surgery this past Wednesday. Everything went well… I am just taking a bit more time to rest. With that in mind, today’s episode is a re-air of one of my favorite episodes from this past year: It’s Time to Stir Up the Water. Before we dive in, can I remind us all that when God puts something on our hearts, as He did with this one for me, you have to share it… sometimes more than once, am I right?!
So as you’ve heard me mention before, I’m a BIG fan of The Chosen. I recently watched episode 4 of Season 2, and something stirred inside me. In this episode - One of the things that Jesus tells Matthew - is sometimes, “You Got to Stir Up the Water” and walk off like A BOSS. I loved it. I’ve been thinking about this ever since, especially how it relates to Podcasting.
One thing I’ve noticed recently… is that so many podcasts are formula-driven. You know what I’m talking about – Music-intro-main content-music =outro with CTA + music. Even the show notes are formula driven. The thing is, you don’t have to have YOUR show sound like everyone else. You want it to be unique. With over 2 million podcasts worldwide, you must set yourself apart to be seen.

So why the bonus episode today and no episode this past Monday? I’ll be honest last week was a hard week for managing my chronic illnesses, running a business, and my husband heading out of town. Sometimes life gets in the way of our best intentions.

However, I couldn’t let Veterans Day go by without mentioning it. So today, I’m sharing about our past military life and what Veterans Day means to me!

Well, it's officially November, the holiday Starbucks drinks are out, and Christmas music is playing on SiriusXM, so it's the Christmas season in my book. Christmas is my favorite holiday, and I try to make it last as long as possible.
Today on the podcast, we are talking about growing your audience authentically by utilizing the intimacy that podcasting brings more than any other medium. When I first learned about podcasting – One of the things that drew me to it was that people could listen to episodes of their favorite show when they wanted, but podcasts also opened up a whole new worldwide audience that wasn’t restricted by the limitation or “gatekeeping” of traditional media.

Hey Friend!
So this is a bit different episode today, but it was something that was on my heart when I sat down to record. This is what I love about podcasting - it can be whatever you want to do.
So y’all know I’m a big proponent of storytelling; it drew me to podcasting and what I believe podcasting is all about. So I’ve mentioned it before, I’m a BIG fan of The Chosen.
I recently watched episode 4 of Season 2, and something stirred inside me. In this episode - One of the things that Jesus tells Matthew - is sometimes, “You Got to Stir Up the Water” and walk off like A BOSS. I loved it. I’ve been thinking about this ever since, especially in Podcasting.

Hey Friends -
One of the questions that I commonly get is how to structure their episodes. Most people know from listening to another podcast - there is the intro, main content/interview, and outro, right?
However, there is a lot more to consider! Which segments to include? How to structure the interview or main content of your episode? On the show today, I’m breaking it all down for you. We’ll discuss planning each episode with structure and thought storytelling techniques, why you need to use an outline, and much more!
With a little planning, you can make every episode you produce an engaging, shareable, audience-growing piece of content.

Outside of talking about podcasting and diving into analytics, one of my favorite things to talk about is marketing! I’m so excited about today’s episode because I get to “nerd out” talking about marketing, funnels, and how to create a podcast sales funnel!
Let's be real, We’ve all bought something online recently, except maybe my great aunt Gertie. (but she’s 90! )
Some of us may be as recently as earlier today, but I'm not naming any names here.
If you've used the Internet at all in the past five years, especially social media, you have definitely been in someone's sales funnel. Whether that was a sale, an email list, or a post on Instagram that you commented on.
Anyway, you get the point. Whether your podcast is business-related, or not, you can benefit from setting up a sales funnel for your podcast.

Hey Friend -
Happy New Year!
Over the last few years, Podcasting grew by leaps and bounds. That said, podcasting in its simplest form is exclusionary to the 10+ million people who are deaf or hard of hearing. Audio-only content cannot always be consumed or enjoyed by this particular community, and the problem gets worse when there’s poor audio quality or the lack of accessibility features.
In this particularly personal episode of The Creative Cast, Tammy talks about why podcasts need to try to be as accessible as possible to the special needs community. She includes tips, tricks, and resources on how to make your podcast more accessible in 2022!

XO,
Tammy
Do you remember the last time God showed up in your life? Even though the Lord is everywhere always, many times He’ll show up in a very specific way.
We all have those moments after a particularly challenging season and we look back and we see the exact moment that God's presence was there, and how He went ahead of us in order to make that happen.
That is what the Storytellers Live podcast is all about.
In this episode of The Creative Cast, Tammy sits down with 2 of the ladies of the Storytellers Live podcast, Robyn Kown and Lindy Walker to talk about these specific moments, the origins of their podcast and why telling your story is so important.
On the StoryTellers Live podcast, everyday people share real and personal stories. Some stories are profound, challenging, and emotional, while others are more common and relatable, shared with honesty and humor. All of these stories reveal what God can do in our lives when we trust Him with the details.

Hey friends!
20 years ago. It’s hard to believe that 9-11 was 20 years ago, but at the same time, it feels just like yesterday!
We all remember where we were, what we were doing, etc. All those stories matters - And so does yours.
So, if you didn’t get a chance to do it this past weekend, please take some time to remember all those impacted by the tragedy of 9/11. The heroes. The fallen. The families. The aftermath.
Whether you were personally impacted, or perhaps you weren’t even born yet... It is worth telling (and listening) to stories.
They really matter. Everyone’s story matters.
In this episode, I answer a question from my friend, Savana (AL), “ I am in the process of researching some ideas for a podcast I want to start in 2022. Isn’t a broader topic better than a niche podcast? “
I take a deep dive into why you should consider a niche for your podcast over a more general, all kinds of topics-type of content!

In today’s episode, we are talking about all things podcast metrics... where to access these numbers, and how to use the metrics to grow your podcast’s audience.
As I’ve said multiple times, podcasting is a long-term game. You’ve got to be in it for the long haul.
Podcast analytics are the foundation of big growth decisions. Building an audience, increasing the number of downloads, and creating a successful podcast all hinge on understanding the data. So, Podcasters need to look at the aggregate numbers across every listening platform, from Spotify to Bluberry, to get a better idea of each episode’s performance! Libsyn, Buzz Sprout and Captivate, and many other podcast hosting platforms create one main dashboard to display your data.
Understanding the analytics and putting their insights to work is how you make better data-backed decisions.
So, Let’s tackle the inexperience, fatigue, and intimidation that holds you back from growing your influence and impact.
Y'all - Today I’m handing my mic over!
Don’t worry- it’s in the best hands because my dear friend of 16+ years (and partner in crime) Alaina Frederick is taking over the show today to interview ME!

As many of you know, launching a podcast has never been easier, thanks to all the technology available now as well as the number of courses, reports, and tutorials on how to get started!
However, the REAL challenge is keeping it going. Producing episodes for a weekly show (or whatever frequency your show is releasing ) coming up with content, recording, editing, etc., is time-consuming.
It’s hard work, y’all!
After the excitement of launching your podcast wears off, you quickly realize that it is a larger time commitment then you initially anticipated. Welcome to Podfade and the reason why so many podcasters become victims to it.
Of course, you can be a one-woman show with a bit of organization but your other option is to hire an editor.
A good podcast editor can save you HOURS each week by handling the editing and uploading your show. Some editors also function as podcast producers and can help writing show notes, uploading your show to your podcast host, and do many other podcast-related tasks!

How do I get more podcast reviews?
Podcast reviews are one of the things I consistently get asked about my clients. That is exactly what we are going to be talking about today!
The purpose behind reviews is simple: humans like to know someone else has tried something first and that they vouch for it. It's the same reason you scroll down to read the customer reviews on Amazon or Target before purchasing a product.
Podcast Reviews helps establish your podcast's reputation, gives you ideas on how to improve your content, and ultimately helps influence people to listen to your show.

One of the most common questions that get asked from podcasters is, “ What actually WORKS to grow your podcast?” In fact, one client asked me a version of this question yesterday during their monthly strategy call.
I’d venture to guess that you most likely started your own podcast to spark a conversation about something you’re passionate about. Whether it was to share God’s word, showcasing your expertise as a marketing expert, or just wanting to create a show to bring awareness. Your goal is to grow a community of listeners from around the world who share your interests and value your perspective on a topic.
So many times, I hear things like, “It is so hard to get people to know my show exists. I’ve tried everything ! …it’s so hard to promote yourself above the other podcasts out there, especially if you are a new show.”
If those statements sound like you, then this episode is just for you!! I’ll take a deep dive on making sure your podcast is a quality product, as well as 10 action steps to market your podcast. ( I even give you 2 BONUS TIPS!!)

Each week your pastor/ priest prepares and presents a sermon to your congregation, and each week you see God use those sermons to move their hearts and minds.
Podcasting is extremely popular right now. Religious podcasts account for nearly 15% of total podcasts.
A podcast makes your sermons available to anyone with internet access via computer, phone, or other mobile devices. Let’s re-frame that — it makes all of your sermons available to anyone at any time, in any part of the world that has internet access.
